01: INTRODUCTION

VS-01 is a negative atmosphere hazardous environment suit designed for life preservation in unique survival situations. The suit's function is to provide a self-contained atmosphere in a lightweight package. This allows it to be used as a platform for more specialized, modular survival configurations.

02: ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW

Each VS-01 package contains the following:

1x vSuit
1x VS-01 Unit
1x Instruction Manual
1x Bottle of Silicon-Based Lubricant

vSuit

The vSuit is a one-piece garment made from raw plant latex that has been subjected to a classified polymerization and vulcanization process. This process creates a material that exhibits the same look and tactility of fashion-grade latex, yet demonstrates an unparalleled durability and stretch. The suit and attached hood is formed in a single seamless sheet, eliminating seams as potential weak spots. Users may don the suit through a small opening in its crotch.

Two goggles are securely bonded to the mask, ending in two airtight cups that allow the wearer vision through a standard refractive index. The standard configuration of the vSuit features molded tubes that plug the wearer's nostrils, allowing respiration but maintaining an atmospheric seal. Future variation of the vSuit will include modular mouthpieces and rebreathers to suit a variety of applied tasks.

VS-01 Unit

The main unit is made of a thicker molded rubber, which houses a compact three-stage magnetic motor. This powers a pump capable of displacing and maintaining a pre-determined internal air pressure. Once primed, the device will link and interface with the vSuit's material. An airtight seal will be formed and the internal pressure will be regulated. The device is capable of evacuating air and waste selectively.

The device features an intuitive two-button crank input system on the back of the motor, which is used to pre-program the parameters of each use. Users can customize the duration and target air pressure of each implementation, with more features intended for future iterations of the VS-series of environment suits.

This iteration of VS-01 seals with a structured cavity, designed to accomodate future modular devices for specialized use.

Instruction Manual

All VS-01 users are required to read and understand the included instruction manual before use. Pilgrim Composites Corporation is not liable for any loss or damage or consequential loos or damage arising directly or indirectly out of the use of the product or for any other reason. The user accepts the responsibility for taking necessary precautions to safeguard against any such loss, damage or consequential loss or damage, howsoever it may be caused.

Lubricant

A bottle of silicon-based lubricant is included for easy donning and doffing. While it is possible to operate VS-01 without lubricant, it is not recommended as the material has a tendency to cling to skin when unlubricated. Attempting to overcome this may cause discomfort.

03: PRE-OPERATION REQUIREMENTS

Before use, please ensure that the VS-01 device's firmware and VS-OS on your workstation are up-to-date and are of matching versions. Version mismatch may cause miscommunication between the configuration software and the device.

VS-OS can be downloaded from the link provided in your introductory email.

The vSuit should be properly lubed before donning. This should be done by turning the garment's sleeves and hood inside the torso, and pouring a generous amount of lubricant into the cavity. Reach into the turned sleeves to spread the lubricant evenly around inside the vSuit before turning them out.

Please refer to the VS-OS readme for instructions on pre-programming the VS-01 device.

04: OPERATION

VS-01 is designed to be worn directly on the occupant's body. Any garment worn inside the vSuit may cause discomfort or become damaged during operation, and may compromise the suit's ability to maintain a controlled atmosphere.

Removal of hair will improve the fit of the vSuit, but is not a requirement for use. Please note that pubic hair may become caught in the motor of the VS-01 device, which may cause discomfort.

To begin, power on the VS-01 device. This is done by pressing and holding both top and bottom buttons of the device until the unit's motor begins to power up. If using a pre-programmed configuration, the device should be connected via bluetooth to a paired VS-OS - the use parameters will be automatically synchronized to the device. If using a manual configuration, twist the control surface to set the duration of the seal, and dial in the target atmospheric pressure using the top and bottom buttons of the device.

1 light:   Preset A (Default -0.02 atm)
2 lights: Preset B (Default 0 atm)
3 lights: Preset C (Default 0.5 atm)
4 lights: Preset D (Default 1 atm)

Don the vSuit by pulling the opening over your head and pulling the hood into place. Ensure that the integrated breathing tubes are inserted securely and that the goggles have an airtight seal around your eyes. Pull the suit down across the shoulders and slide your arms into the sleeves and attached gloves. Bring your knees up to your chest and pull the vSuit over your legs. The material will easily stretch to accomodate. Align your feet with the leg holes and guide the leggings and socks into place. The opening will return to its original size and position as the suit settles.

Ensure that the vSuit fits smoothly and that the VS-01 device is primed (3 blinking lights) before continuing.

Lube the VS-01 unit generously and insert it into the vSuit. The device should automatically integrate with the suit and begin its program. Please remain still as it first comes to its target pressure.

05: POST-OPERATION REQUIREMENTS

The vSuit should be flushed through with a warm, soapy water after use. Lube or powder the suit generously before storage. The VS-01 device is self-cleaning, and can be stored in soapy water. The device should be cleaned through after ten minutes of soaking.

Do not store the vSuit under sunlight long-term as overexposure may cause the material to shrink or stiffen.

06: FIRMWARE UPGRADE

If you need to upgrade VS-OS, you do not need to uninstall the previous installation first. The VS-OS software features an automatic updater that will keep the program up to date if your computer has a stable internet connection.

Upgrading of the VS-01 firmware is done automatically by VS-OS.

07: TROUBLESHOOTING

The VS-01 unit will report its status via a series of beeps accompanied with configurable force feedback.

1 Beep (Short): Atmospheric Pressure Stabilized
2 Beeps (Short): Air Duct Blockage
Continuous Beeps (Short): Version Mismatch
1 Beep (Long): General Error - Please refer to paired VS-OS for detailed logs

Please refer to your introductory email for further support. Allow up to 3 working days for a response.

08: KNOWN ISSUES

Occasional delay in integration between VS-01 unit and vSuit.

Asynchronous release of VS-OS versions and VS-01 firmware may cause automatic updates to desync the device and software.

VS-01 is currently incompatible with male users.
