Hahahaha no, really. literally IMPROV TIME. I'm gonna make shit up as I go. Let's see what we can spin. I don't think there'll be any NSFW stuff in this one.
uh...
Okay so there’s this couple.
They grow up together, they’re in love etc.
Then one day, heck let’s name them. More impact.
Shit. Names be hard yo.
Uh
Alex and Sam. (because. Gender-neutral.)

So Sam and Alex are in love, they live together, they spend their lives together… happy couple, both are smart, young, high fliers and they have the perfect life and it’s amazing… and then one day oh shit, Sam is in a coma!
Alex is like ohhhh shiiit. And then she goes into depression and stuff, but she always stays with sam, but she’s sad. And she’s scared. She’s scared that…
Alex’s hand trembled. She wiped a tear off her cheek, struggling not to spill her wine. She couldn’t believe the turn their lives had taken. A small wound that led to an infection that led to complications that led to…
Alex spilled her wine.
Half-falling to her knees, she made a soulless attempt to clean it up, determined to remain strong despite…
Alex covered her mouth. Her eyes blurred as she choked back tears… a pathetic dam behind which lurked an ocean. Her glass clattered to the floor as she cried, desperately and helplessly, against the crushing darkness that clouded her world, threatening to consume all the light in her universe.

Years Later
Alex slumped in the ward’s sofa, exhausted from a soul-crushing day at her office. Her attempts to eat space cake and forget the day didn’t seem to have any effect on her... She reached into the murky darkness and thumbed a switch, flooding the ward with light. She entertained the fantasy of Sam turning over, complaining about the sun rising too early for her arguably unhealthy circadian rhythm.
“…of course not,” Alex sighed.
She grasped Sam’s hand under the blanket and nestled her head on her shoulder.
“I had a terrible day at work today…” Alex began her daily talk with Sam, refusing to let their tradition be abandoned.
---
“Look kid, you wanna get off easy, you better tell me who you gave my weed away to.”
“Shit, okay man, some chick I know from work. I’m like trying to get into her good uh… into her… well, into her. You know.”
“You fucking serious? Take me to her.”
---
Alex looked down on… herself. She opened her eyes, but the Alex beneath her remained stationary, save for the slow, rise and fall of her chest, almost in time with Sam’s. She watched as her hand grew limp and fell off the bed, hanging uselessly off to the side.
She could feel a light emotional tether to her body, but chose not to reel herself back in just yet.
<Alex?>
A familiar voice...? Alex spun around, falling to her knees in stunned silence.
<S-sammy? Sa…>
Sam lurched forward, throwing her arms around Alex as her own tears clouded her vision.
<It’s me! It’s me, Alex. I’m here.>
Alex wrapped her arms around her long lost lover, pulling their consciousness’ close.as their physical bodies slumbered behind them.
<I’ve heard everything, Alex, I’ve always been listening. I love you, Alex.>
A slam.
“That’s the girl.”
Alex’s heart fell. Not now. Please not now.
“Hey, wake up.”
“Hey!”
Alex felt a firm emotional tug from her body, urging her to return. Alex turned to Sam.
<Come with me!>
<Wh- I couldn’t get back in… I don’t thin->
<I’ll bring you. Please, Sam, I can’t live without you, please come with me.>
<Alex, I… okay.>
<Sam… I love you.>
I know. (:
Alex grasped Sam’s hand and made for her bodies, but a gale of ethereal wind scattered them forward as the intruders strode through their physical space.
Alex and Sam leapt forward, determined to return to their bodies before they were moved, but just as they were about to regain physicality, the intruders moved Alex. Their consciousness’, still scattered and inseparable, reached out and grasped Sam’s hand, allowing their collective soul to flood into Sam’s body.
The two girls jolted awake, but somehow they were connected – both existed in each other’s consciousness, as if they were one and the same, and yet two separate people.
Hahahaha okay I’m done. Who’d have thunk we’d end up at shared consciousness’.
