Over time I got used to being completely armless. It was certainly a bit easier to manage with my one replacement arm,, but to be honest, I truly thought I was going to be able to use it to complete my pair, not to hardly make up for having none at all!

Riley had been a huge help as well. Over the last couple months she has been my arms when I needed them most. I returned the favor by being her legs–sadly by simply having legs does not mean I can reach items in high places. We all have our limitations, I suppose.

What’s really been eating at me is how my sense of well-being has skyrocketed. When I would realize I was reaching for a glass or for something on the ground that I dropped, the rush of endorphins I would receive would be profound. Hanging out with Riley, cuddling, getting hot and heavy…being reminded of my upper-limb absence has amounted to a religious experience. That said, having to quickly answer my phone or actually get the dishes done certainly brings me back to reality in a harsh way. Higher highs, lower lows, I suppose.

“Bye! Ill see you this evening!” I yelled into the apartment on my way out the door to work, my foot on the specially crafted foot pedal used to open the door. This week I decided to start going into work without any arms–just to test it out. The sheer amount of accessibility tools made available for employees these days is staggering so it’s never quite been an issue. Going with my replacement arm has really only been for others’ comfort.

“Wait!” the all too familiar thump-thump-thump of Riley “running”, swinging her torso between her arms to give me a hug and a kiss goodbye. She came bounding into the foyer. Fresh out of bed and without a bra, her breasts were flying chaotically as they bounced and bounded in discordance with her hips hitting the ground. Beneath her loose crop top her minimal belly fat jiggled in such a way that made my face flush with redness.

Reaching her arms up and over my ass, hanging on to the thinness of my waist, Riley began to climb up my body. I almost fell over from supporting her pendulous weight around my waist.

“Oh my god!” I yelped, laughing as I did everything I could to sustain my balance. I’m told I’ve become somewhat of a brick wall after losing my arms. No one can knock me over! Necessity is a motivating force!

“I'll miss you! Don't go!” She let go, leaning back on her arms to give me a fantastic view of her puppy dog eyes (and the miniscule stumps from her hips).

“I'll see you soon babe, besides you have work too!” I squatted down as far as I could to give her a kiss. With both hands, Riley grabbed my empty shoulders and fingered the soft flesh of my empty shoulder in a way that always sends chills down my spine.

“Mmmmm, that feels sooo good.” I murmured.

“Something to remember me by.” with one last full on kiss on the lips and a squeeze of my shoulders, I was cast into the great, wide, unforgiving world.
