I’d just left work after a tiring day when I felt someone come up behind me.
The arms round my waist were a real surprise; as was the hot breath on my cheek, followed by a kiss.
“Hi, Babe”, the voice said, huskily. “Knew I’d find you here.”
Totally confused, I spun round.
“I think you’ve got me confused with someone else…?”
“No chance, love. I’ve always known it was you”, she replied. “I must admit, being a man doesn’t suit you at all…!”
“But I am a man!”, I exclaimed. “I assure you, you’ve got it wrong!”
By then, the woman was really coming on to me. Kissing me, fondling me all over.
“No, you’re not. You never have been. Come on, come home with me and I’ll show you.”
For some reason, I went with her…
Let’s just say having a sexy, gorgeous woman coming on to you is enough to make you do anything for her, even if it was only wanting to get to know her better. I must admit, though, I was very confused about her thinking I was her ‘girlfriend’…!
Like I’d told her, I’m a guy, in my middle to late twenties. I’m front desk at the solicitors in town. This woman, however, would have looked at home on any catwalk or fashion house. She was stunning.
It didn’t take us long to walk back to her flat. She lived on the top floor of one of the more expensive apartment buildings in town, looking out over the marina. And, when I say on the top floor, I mean the top floor. It was all hers. Why the hell was a woman like this, with all this going for her, hitting on me…?
As soon as we were inside the apartment, she started ripping my clothes off.
“Hey, slow down! What the hell?”
“These stupid boy clothes need to go! They’re doing nothing for your figure.”
She finished ripping all of my clothes off. What I was going to wear to get back home, I had no idea. After that, she inspected me all over.
“They’ve done a good job on you; I can’t even see the join. However, this suit has got to come off, somehow…”
“Suit? What suit! You’ve stripped me naked, for fucks sake!”, I cried.
“Not quite yet”, she said, getting out a scalpel…
I admit it. I shrieked like a girl and dived behind the nearest piece of furniture. No way was she bringing that anywhere near me!
“Amy, please!”, she cried. “I’m trying to help you!”
“The fuck you are!”, I cried. “You’re a flaming maniac! I only wish I’d worked that out before you ripped my clothes off! I would have thought it was even more obvious that I’m not the person you think I am!”
“Admittedly, not at the moment, no”, she said. “I’m trying to do something about that, though. Please, trust me.”
“If you think I’m letting you near me with that thing, you’re out of your mind!”, I cried. “My name isn’t Amy! It’s Adrian. I keep telling you I’m a guy! Please, just believe me and let me go. You don’t have to do this!”
“Damn it, get over here!”, she cried. “I’m trying to help you, for fucks sake!”
“You can help me by putting that scalpel away and finding me some clothes to wear!”, I shrieked, still hiding behind the sofa.
She reached out and started pulling the sofa away from the wall, reaching for me. I dived out from the other end of the sofa and raced across the room, then vanished into the bathroom, locking the door.
“Amy, come out, please!”, she cried. “What do I have to do to convince you?”
“There’s no way I’ll believe you!”, I shouted back. “Now, either you put that scalpel away, find me some clothes and let me go, or I start screaming out of the window…!”
Before I knew what was happening, there was a couple of loud thuds, followed by a crash, as she kicked the door in. Like a berk, I was standing right by it…
The force the door came crashing in with sent me flying. I hit my head on the side of the bath, and everything went dark…
As I slumped to the floor, I heard the woman’s anguished howl…
From what I gathered later, she phoned the emergency services as soon as she saw the gash on my head. She’d also been busy with her scalpel…
I awoke with a clonking headache in hospital, in the woman’s ward.
A nurse noticed I was trying to sit up and came straight over.
“Ms. Marsh! You’re awake! How are you feeling…?”
“What did you call me…?”
“Amy Marsh. That’s your name, isn’t it?”
“No. My name’s Adrian Marshall…”
I then stopped and looked at myself. I definitely was more an Amy than an Adrian…
I had curves. I had a nice set of ‘D’ cup breasts, and the sheets were noticeably flat between my legs…
My hand vanished down to check. Yep, I was female.
“Shit, she was telling the truth…!”, I gasped…
“Welcome back, kiddo”, came a voice from the doorway. “It’s great to see you looking like you again…!”
“I’m so sorry”, I said, weakly. “I didn’t know. I still don’t…!”
“It’s all right”, she said, coming in and sitting beside me. “I can quite understand you being confused. Can you remember anything about Amy?”
“No, sorry”, I said, “my body may be Amy, but my head is still Adrian.”
“In that case, let me introduce myself properly”, the woman said. “Seeing as you don’t remember me. My name is Anna Marsh; I’m your wife…”
My mouth dropped open in shock…
Anna showed me a selection of photos on her phone; I did seem to be having a lot of fun with her. I cried when I saw the pictures of our wedding; it had been rather a lavish affair. My dress looked really beautiful. I said so.
“Don’t worry; I’ve still got both our outfits from the wedding; I thought we might like to wear them again sometime. I’m not exactly short of money, you see; I own the entire block that I live on the top floor of.”
Anna was full of surprises.
“It makes me all the more puzzled why you’d choose me”, I said. “I’m nothing special.”
“You are to me…”, said Anna…
Anna had brought in a photo album; she was hoping it would bring back memories. All it did was make me cry…
“What’s the matter, love?”, she asked, concerned.
“All these wonderful occasions with you, and I can’t remember any of them!”, I cried. “It’s as bad as having died…!”
“Don’t say that, Amy! Don’t ever say that! We can make new memories together. We’ve got that chance, now! I’ve found you and got you back!”
Anna hugged me, hard. She then kissed me, firmly, hungrily, on the lips. I didn’t need any encouragement to return it…
A few days later, I was allowed to go home with Anna, on the condition that we kept in regular touch with the hospital, and I was brought at least once a week for a checkup to my GP. The problem was, I didn’t know who they were. I knew who Adrian’s doctor was, but I knew nothing about Amy…
We still had no idea why someone would have ‘changed’ me the way they had. The job had been very professional; if Anna hadn’t been incredibly observant, I would probably have stayed as Adrian ‘ad infinitum’. There were times that I wished I had; being Amy without her memories, losing all that time with Anna, was almost too much to bear.
Anna was my rock; she was, putting it simply, the only reason I kept going. Even so, she often came into the room to find me crying…
“Let’s make new memories together”, she said, one day, after she’d found me in the midst of another crying fit. She grabbed the photo albums and hurled them across the room.
She then got down on one knee in front of me.
“Amy Marsh”, she said, “will you marry me, again…?”
Now laughing instead of crying, I agreed…!
Things got better from there.
The wedding was a beautiful affair; Anna, always the more masculine of us, wore a beautiful white suit; I got the chance at last to wear the wedding dress from the pictures. We treated it as a renewal of vows ceremony, not a true wedding, as such; after all, we were already married. It, however, meant a great deal to me. Anna doing this for me showed me how much she truly loved me.
I let her drive throughout; I was still in a state of shock and trying to ‘recover’ from being Adrian. I had to have some very helpful bridesmaids; I asked our friend Claire, from the dress shop, to be my main one. She, of course, knew exactly how to make me look my best, and I was sure I could do with the help…!
She knew exactly how the dress should be worn to carry it off properly.
“It still fits you perfectly”, she said. “It should do, after all; I made it especially for you.”
I giggled.
“What’s so funny…?”, she asked, a chuckle in her own voice.
“I was just thinking how this dress would have looked on, say, a young man about my build…”
“Whatever made you think of that…?”
“Inside joke”, I said, with a smile.
Anna gave the family speech at the reception after. I was content to just sit and look pretty, but I had fun getting to know people again. People were ‘in the know’ about my condition and were being quite considerate, treating it as the first time that I had met them, and I really appreciated that.
I made quite a few new friends that evening.
The party went on until after midnight; everyone then retired to their rooms. Anna was still driving, then; she could see I was suffering a bit from overload.
“I’m proud of you”, she said, as she undressed me. “You coped with all of that beautifully.”
“Only because I had you with me”, I replied. “I’m still a bit confused as to some of the people who came. They all seemed to be from your family side, though. Don’t I have any relations?”
“No, sweetie, I’m sorry; you’re an orphan”, Anna said, pain in her eyes. “Anyway; you’ve got family now; you’ve got me…!”
I let her hug me and snuggled up against her. I was really looking forward to spending my life with this wonderful woman…!
We were well into rebuilding my life as Amy Marsh when there was a short article on the news that made my ears prick up.
The boss of the firm that I used to work at, Maggie Crane, had put up a substantial reward for information leading to the finding of ‘Adrian Marshall’.
She had submitted a missing persons report herself, she said, but ‘I’ had vanished into thin air.
She then said it was because she had feelings for me…
I called Anna in and replayed the news article for her.
“Oh… have you been seeing someone on the side?”, she asked, mock seriously, thumping me in the arm.
“Er… I didn’t even know she was into me!”, I said, holding my hands up in a gesture of surrender.
Anna giggled.
“You take things way too seriously, you do”, she said. “You’re so easy to wind up.”
“I don’t like leaving her not knowing, though”, I said. “After all, you know how you felt when you couldn’t find me.”
Anna agreed to come with me, and we both set out to the solicitors. I had no idea what I was going to say when we got there.
It turned out that I needn’t have worried. We walked into reception together and said that we had information regarding Adrian Marshall.
As soon as Maggie heard my name she was straight down, surprising everyone.
She saw Anna waiting with me and turned on her, angrily.
“You couldn’t leave things alone, could you! You had to have your sodding wife back. You knew she’d sacrificed herself to keep you alive, but you wouldn’t let it lie!”
“What’s she talking about, Anna?”, I asked.
“I take it you haven’t got your memories back, yet then, have you, Amy?”, Maggie said. “Oh well, let’s do something about that. Jabberwocky!”
The pain hit me instantly. With a scream, I collapsed…
The keyword, spoken in Maggie’s voice, unlocked the block in my head. All Amy’s memories flooded back, completely replacing Adrians…
As the pain receded and my eyes cleared, I realised Anna was holding me tightly. I’d never been so pleased to see her…
I gave her the most massive kiss that I’d ever done in my life.
“Hello, Coochie”, I said. “Fancy seeing you here…!”
My use of her pet name made her smile broadly.
“You remember!”, she cried, hugging me. She then stood up, spun round and belted Maggie as hard as she could, knocking her to the floor.
“She’s been going through hell! She’s spent weeks crying over pictures of a life she couldn’t remember! I was actually getting scared she might do something stupid…!”
“We did it to protect her! It was out own version of a ‘Witness Protection’ programme. There’s been no complications in the past. I completely missed the fact you two were married; I thought you were just good friends!”, Maggie, on the floor, was really apologetic.
“We also lost the records of who she’d been hidden as”, she continued. “The case was resolved without her testimony weeks ago. It was only you taking her that made us check further.”
“You bitch!”, said Anna, belting Maggie again.
“At least you truly have your wife back now”, Maggie said.
“Is that true, sweetie?”, said Anna, staring into my eyes.
I nodded.
“Yep. Adrian has left the building”, I said. “I’m all Amy, now…”
