After the ‘false start’ of Mandy not knowing what the purple dresses stood for, the engagement of Mandy to Carla was announced, and a party arranged (of course).

Mandy, however, had a real surprise when she went to go to her room to change. Two maids walked up to her and stood either side of her. Their collars weren’t glowing red or blue, but purple…

“Ah, you’ve found your attendants”, said Carla’s mother. “They are going to dress you for the party tonight. You can also use them any way that you wish; they will expect it…”

To Mandy’s amazement, both maids hugged her, then snuggled up against her. If they hadn’t been hooded, they would have kissed her…

Mandy let the maids steer her into her room. They then started to undress her. As they were her attendants, they could unlock her clothing. She then found out she could unlock theirs.

She then had fun getting to know the two maids, Maeve and Isobel…

They almost missed the party; they were having so much fun together. Both maids were very appreciative of how they were ‘used’…

The maids brought out an absolutely stunning ivory ballgown with a train and dressed Mandy in it. They then sat her at the dressing table and did her makeup, hair and nails.

Mandy was then ready for the party. Her maids, however, were not…

Both of them refused to leave the room until Mandy put their collars and hoods back on.

“It’s a matter of showing the proper respect, Ma’am”, Maeve said. “After all, if we’re not wearing our collars, you can’t see they’re glowing purple. We can always have more fun later, if you want, when we get back…”

Maeve and Isobel positioned themselves carefully three steps behind Mandy and held the train of her gown. Mandy then left her room with them and headed for the great hall.

As soon as Carla saw her, she squealed with delight.

“Oh! You look beautiful! With matching maids, too…!”

Mandy stopped in front of Carla. Throwing decorum to the winds, Carla threw her arms around Mandy and kissed her.

“I’ve never seen her so happy”, said Carla’s mother, coming up alongside Mandy. “How are you getting on with your attendants, by the way…?”

Mandy blushed.

“Ah, that good. I’m glad. I chose Maeve and Isobel personally. They are overjoyed to be assigned to you.”

“I thought that was just for tonight…?”, said Mandy.

“Don’t be ridiculous, child”, said Carla’s mother. “How many maids you have is a status symbol around here. I have five; Carla has three, make that two now she’s marrying you. Now you have two as well. They are permanently assigned to you and will expect you to care for them. That is what the two chairs in your sleeping quarters are for.”

“I’ve never had anything like this before”, Mandy said. “I’ve no idea how to look after them.”

“Just check the indicators on their chairs twice a week, to make sure they have food and drink and are properly taken care of. Take their collars and hoods off as often as you want to and try to sleep with them at least once a week.”

Mandy blushed again.

“Ah… I see that this week is taken care of, then…” Carla’s mother said, with a chuckle. “Anyway, I suggest you mingle; there’s a lot of people here dying to meet you.”

Mandy had a fun time meeting new people; Maeve and Isobel kept her company throughout. Carla kept nipping over every now and again and kissing her.

Mandy was finding it all a bit much; she had been a bit of an introvert in her ‘previous life’. Maeve noticed that she was swaying on her feet and dived forward, catching her as she fainted. She then made a circling signal with her hand.

Instantly, Carla broke off what she was doing and raced to Mandy’s side.

“Bedroom. Now.”, she said.

Maeve and Isobel immediately carried Mandy back to her room. They undressed her, put her into her night clothes and put her to bed.

Carla wanted to check on her. Maeve and Isobel wouldn’t let her in. They were told to protect Mandy and that was exactly what they were doing. Carla was concerned, but she understood completely. Isobel, after all, was a trained nurse, and Maeve was ex-military. Her mother couldn’t have picked a better pair of servants.

It concerned both of them when their hoods unlocked automatically. That only happened when their ‘owner’ was incapacitated for some reason. Mandy hadn’t just fainted. She was quite ill…

Isobel had isolated the problem, and she was treating it. She then whispered in Maeve’s ear…

People were treated to the sight of Maeve, without her hood or collar, storming down the corridor. In full view of everyone else she grabbed one of the maids in the grand hall and threw her bodily across the room.

“What the…!” cried Carla.

“That bitch poisoned Mandy!”, Maeve shrieked…

It turned out the other maid, when interviewed after her hood was removed, had been jealous of Mandy; she thought she had stolen Carla from her.

Carla’s mother was furious.

She went over to the unfortunate maid, grabbed her, hooded her and twisted the light on her collar through 90 degrees. There was a loud click, heard by everyone in the room.

“Your outfit is now permanently locked”, she said. “No-one can remove it. Ever. Have fun being a silent maid for the rest of your life. You are also now confined to the south wing of the property only. I will have your chair moved to the junk room; you can sleep there.”

The maid screamed soundlessly and frantically tried to pull her hood off. She failed…

Under Isobel’s expert care, Mandy recovered. Maeve patrolled the door; however, she was obviously upset. She went on her knees to Carla and her mother and wept.

“I should have spotted it! Isobel did, but she couldn’t move quickly enough to do anything. I’m so ashamed…!”

Carla stroked her head, as did her mother.

“None of us would have expected Sally to have done something like that; she’s been loyally with us for years. There’s no way you could have anticipated that.”

“But I should have! It’s my job! My only job, and I failed. You might as well lock me away as well…”

She held out her collar and hood…

“Don’t be silly, Maeve! Isobel only noticed because of her medical training. I would suggest, however, that it might be a good idea to take a few lessons from her…”

“Good point”, said Maeve. “I’ll talk to her later, once Mandy recovers.”

“It wasn’t your fault, Maeve…”, came a weak voice from the bed. “Don’t anybody dare punish her. She’s just trying to fall on her sword, and I won’t let her!”

Maeve’s face lit up, as did Carla’s and her mother’s…

Mandy recovered rapidly under Isobel’s expert treatment and was up and about again.

Some were sure that she said she was still unwell, though, just to get Maeve and Isobel to sleep with her to make her feel better, not that they needed much encouragement.

One consequence of everything was that both Maeve and Isobel were granted permission to remove their own hoods whenever needed; Isobel could obviously treat her charge better without the hood being in the way, and it was felt that Maeve would have spotted the problem earlier if she hadn’t been hooded. They still wore their purple glowing collars, though, and put their hoods on before sitting on their chairs as the dresses worked better as a self-contained system.

Mandy was overjoyed; she kept sneaking kisses from both of them…

Carla didn’t mind at all either; she had her fiancée back, and anything that made her happy made Carla happy as well…
