Adam was struggling.

The blank screen stared back at him, seemingly mocking him, and the deadline was tomorrow.

It was all his editors fault. Half of the staff was off with seasonal flu and Covid, and the rest were expected to take up the slack. He’d been asked to write about a subject that he knew nothing about; ‘clubbing in the modern age’.

He leaned back, rubbing his eyes.

His flatmate, seeing he was getting stressed, uncurled herself from the sofa, turned off the TV and came over.

“What’s up, kid?”, she asked.

“I’ve got this really crap assignment to do for tomorrow; I’ve tried doing a bit of research online, but I can’t get the feel of it. I’ve only got the job because Candy’s off sick.”

“Candy…?”

“Yes, you know, you met her at last years Christmas Party at work. She was the bubbly one in the pink latex outfit.”

“Oh, her! Yes, she looked fun.”

As Adam was still staring at the computer, he didn’t spot the wicked smile that had appeared on his flatmate, as well as the fact she was rubbing her hands together with glee…

Trying to hide her enthusiasm, his flatmate got Adam a hot chocolate.

“Here. Take a break and de-stress for a minute; you’re trying too hard.”

“Thanks, Max”, Adam said. “You’re a star.”

The sleeping tablets in the chocolate soon worked, Adam was so tired already, they didn’t have much to do…

Sniggering quietly, Maxine carried Adam into the bedroom…

Adam woke up, went to stretch and sit up, then shrieked…

He was covered from neck to foot in a shiny pink latex catsuit. He also had curves in all the right places to make him look like a very attractive woman.

He shrieked again as he saw himself in a mirror. He looked like the proverbial ‘dizzy blonde’, with long curly blonde hair. He also looked almost exactly like Candy from the office. How the hell…?

He heard a giggle from behind him.

Maxine was chuckling, trying not to roar her head off.

“The look on your face…!”

“What the heck, Max! Get this crap off of me, now!”

“No way, sweetie! We’re going clubbing.”

“Like fuck I am! Get this shit off of me!”

“I can’t. The glue lasts at least 12 hours, and I spilt some on the zip of the catsuit. You’re stuck like that at least until tomorrow morning. Come on; at least you can research your article properly now…!”

Adam turned round, ready to really shout at Maxine. Then he saw what she was wearing…

Her black catsuit complimented his perfectly, as did her platinum blonde hair wig. She looked really hot…

“Come on, baby”, she said, pleadingly. “Let’s have some girl fun for a change. I could really do with a night on the town, and I want to do it with my new girlfriend…”

Maxine brushed a gloved hand over Adam’s breast. To his amazement, he could feel it!

“It’s amazing what this suit can do”, she said. “A ‘friend’ of mine raided it from a military supplier. If you’re uncomfortable with the pink, a remote lets it shift into any colour. However, I thought you’d like to see Candy’s point of view…!”

Adam was still annoyed, but he realised Maxine was only trying to help him get his article written.

“Go on, then…”, he said, begrudgingly, holding out a hand…

Maxine and ‘Adrienne’ really enjoyed themselves.

Adrienne then found out why Maxine really wanted him as a girl…

Maxine was really interested in girls, not boys, but had fancied Adam for some reason. She had now found out why; as soon as she had ‘released his inner girl’, she had fallen in love with her. She and Adrienne were now an item…

This reflected in Adam’s writing.

He wrote a lively, upbeat piece about their time at the club. He also wrote it as Adrienne. When the glue eventually unlocked the catsuit, he slowly started to change out of it, already missing being her.

Maxine, picking up on this, spread some clothes out on the bed. A black office skirt, ivory blouse and a black jacket, as well as underwear, bra and tights and a pair of flats, and stopped him taking the suit off, changing it to a matt flesh colour instead so it looked like real skin and fastening it back up.

“I’m not going to make you wear heels yet”, she said, “that would be too much on your first day. How about Adrienne filing the story? You know you like being her...”

Maxine touched up Adrienne’s makeup; it had got more than a little smudged from their antics the night before.

Adrienne was quite happy to do anything Maxine wanted; she loved having this amazing person as her girlfriend. Maxine also noticed how comfortable and confident Adrienne now was; Adam wouldn’t even have had the article finished by now, let alone be ready to go in the office and submit it.

Adrienne went up in the elevator to her floor at work.

Heads turned as she walked in.

“Who the hell…?”

She confidently walked along the aisle between the desks and sat at Adam’s. Signing in, she made sure that the article had been submitted, then went to get herself a coffee.

“Excuse me. You can’t just walk in here like you own the place. Who are you, anyway…?” The Editor’s voice trailed off.

“Adam…?”

“Adrienne, darling. And don’t you forget it.”

With his mouth open, the editor just handed Adrienne the next assignment.

“This should be right up your street, then…”

Powerful Women in Business.

The editor walked back to his office. He was back in a few minutes.

“I’ve just quickly read your article. You keep writing like that, and you can be whoever you want as far as I’m concerned, as long as you keep writing for us.”

“That’s right, darling. You’re lucky to have me.”

“Yes, ma’am…”

Now chuckling herself, Adrienne walked out, already having ideas for the next article…
