Clarissa dizzily woke up in bed…

What had she drunk last night? Everything hurt. The hangover was really starting to hit, and…

She shrieked as she looked down. Where were her breasts? Her gorgeous little C cup breasts? What the hell…!

A flat chest met her gaze. Also, it was looking a bit hairy…!

She shrieked again as she looked further down. A perfect penis and testicles met her gaze…

“No… no… no…”, she wailed. “I’ve got to still be dreaming…!”

Suddenly, a girl came into the room.

“Hi, Clay, you’re awake!”, she said. “Lay off the cocktails next time, will you!”

Clarissa shot out of bed, grabbed the other girl round the neck and slammed her into the door.

“What did you do to me!”, she yelled. “I’m a girl, for fucks sake! How have you done this to me!”

“Clay… please… you’re hurting me…!”, the girl squeaked, coughing. “Can’t… breathe…”

Clarissa let her go, and the girl slid down the door, onto the floor. With tears in her eyes, she said, “What’s wrong? Did someone slip you something, last night?”

“I’ll say they did”, said Clarissa, moodily, sagging back onto the bed. “This time yesterday, I was a girl. I went clubbing with a friend. Next thing, I’m waking up here, like this…!”

The girl, Miki, tried to reassure ‘Clay’ that ‘he’ was her boyfriend, and they had gone out together last night, but Clarissa was having none of it.

“I’m not a fucking boy!”, she yelled, indignantly. “I’m a 26-year-old girl, named Clarissa Page. I have a boyfriend, Tim. What’s he going to think when he sees me like this…!”

Clarissa sagged onto the bed and started crying. Miki tried to hug her, to reassure her.

“Get the fuck away from me!”, Clarissa cried. “As far as I know, you caused all this.”

Moaning quietly “I just want my life back…”, Clarissa curled up on the bed and wept.

Miki was beside herself with grief. What was wrong with Clay, and why wouldn’t he let her help him? She was really scared. With trembling fingers, she dialled the emergency services…

She explained to the person that answered that she thought that someone had slipped her boyfriend something at the club they went to last night, and it was only just now affecting him. He was really confused, had attacked her, and she was worried he might hurt himself, or worse…

The operator reassured her over the phone that as they deemed the situation ‘life threatening’ someone would be with her ASAP. Standing in the doorway, Miki watched over Clay and waited for the ambulance to arrive.

Ten minutes later, there was a knock at the door. The ambulance crew came in and quickly assessed the situation. Clarissa started struggling again when they started checking her and knocked one of the crew across the room, so they had to sedate her for her and their safety. Strapping her down onto a stretcher, they carted her off to hospital…

Clarissa woke up in a hospital bed. Disoriented, she sat up with a start and looked around…

“Easy, fella”, the nurse said. “You’re ok. Do you know where you are?”

“It looks like a hospital”, Clarissa replied, hopefully. “Are you going to help me?”

“One thing at a time”, the nurse said. “Who are you?”

“Clarissa Page”, Clarissa said. “I’m 26.”

“Clarissa? That’s a strange name for a man?”

“That’s because I’m a woman. That’s what I meant about you helping me. I want my body back…!”

The nurse tried other things, checking items from the records she was holding, but Clarissa knew nothing about ‘Clay Tyler’, a 20-year-old university student. She steadfastly stuck to her ‘story’ of being Clarissa Page, a solicitor from the city.

“Ok, have you any next-of-kin that we can call?”, the nurse asked. “Anyone who can really identify you?”

From the records, the nurse knew Clay's parents were dead, and he was an only child. No help there…

“No, I’m an only child, and my parents are dead”, said Clarissa. The one thing she had in common with ‘Clay’, and the least help…!

The nurse phoned Clarissa’s firm. Yes, they had an associate named Clarissa Page working there, and no, she wasn’t in at the moment. Would she like to leave a message? Looking on the firm’s website, the nurse got copies of the photos of all the female associates of the firm.

The nurse also managed to contact the admin building at the university. The woman there was quite helpful but concerned when she realised that Clay was in hospital. Yes, she’d gladly email a photo over for identification…

Once she had all the photos, she printed a sheet out of all of them, then went back into the room.

“Do you know any of the people on this sheet?”, she asked.

“Trick question, right?”, said Clarissa. I know all of them, except the guy at the bottom right. I work with four of the others, and the one at top left is me.”

“I’m sorry”, the nurse said, sadly, “but you’re the one at the bottom right…”

Things went from bad to worse…

A hospital psychologist visited. She spent an hour just talking with Clarissa. She then came out and called the nurse over.

“I’ve never seen a case like this in all my years I’ve worked here”, she said. “He’s so totally convinced that he is this ‘Clarissa Page’ woman that there’s literally nothing else in his head. I can’t find any memories of Clay Tyler anywhere. I’ve even tried hypnosis; he’s convinced he is her his conviction is rock solid.

“What we need to do is find this Clarissa Page woman. If we park her in front of him, it might snap him out of it.”

‘Clarissa Page’, however, refused to turn up. The firm she worked at, even after the urgency of the situation was explained to them, couldn’t get hold of her. They hadn’t seen her for days, interestingly at about the same time Clay’s recollections started…

Then the staff had a real shock. Clay Tyler walked into reception…

“Someone called my University. They said I was in hospital?”, he asked, confused.

“I think you’d better come with me”, the receptionist said. Refusing to answer any more of his questions, she just led him into the ward and into a private room.

Clay gasped. His own face stared back at him.

“Can you tell me what the fuck is going on?”, Clarissa asked. At the same time, Miki walked back into the room. She had just gone to get a drink, having sat at ‘Clay’s side for ages…

She stared at the bed, then the figure standing next to it.

“Clay…?”, she said, shakily.

Clay caught her easily as she fainted…

One Clay had proved to Miki that he was the real ‘Clay Tyler’, he asked her where she and the other Clay had met up.

“It was at Squares, in town”, she said. “I got a text from you to meet you there.”

Clay hadn’t sent the text…

Clay, understandably, was upset. He felt someone was trying to take advantage of his girlfriend, and that someone was the other Clay who, he learned, was calling ‘herself’ Clarissa. He could tell, however, as the conversation went on, that there was something really wrong, and Clarissa wasn’t the one who had caused all this.

“You’re really just a victim in all this, aren’t you?”, he said.

To Clarissa’s amazement, both Clay and Miki then hugged her, trying to reassure her.

“After all, you appear to be the only one that’s still missing”, he said.

The hospital had got back on to the solicitor. Clarissa still hadn’t got in touch. However, the police were treating it as a missing persons case, potentially a kidnap or other crime, so they were able to get a warrant to track Clarissa’s phone.

The phone seemed to still be on, it gave a location as a disused warehouse at the north end of town. A small group of police descended on the warehouse…

Inside, a small room was found. It had been hurriedly built and sealed off from the rest of the warehouse. Inside, Clarissa’s belongings were found, as well as her clothes. There was also large format photos of Clay Tyler, taken from various angles. There were also traces of some kind of material, as well as a very strong glue that seemed to stick anything to anything, stuck to a bed…

The perpetrators weren’t expecting for their site to be found, it was only the mistake one of them made leaving Clarissa’s phone on that allowed the police to locate it. As such, they had left a surprising amount of evidence behind…

The laptop recorded emails instructing that due to her getting ‘too close’, Clarissa Page would have to ‘disappear’. A body suit had been designed for her, based on Clay Tyler, a loner at university. The plan had only fallen apart because they hadn’t been able to snatch Clay. They had sent the text to Miki, having hacked Clay’s phone, then left a drugged Clarissa for Miki to find. It was only after they had done that that they found that they couldn’t locate Clay…

Clay had been out of the area, having taken an unscheduled trip which wasn’t in any of his social media posts. He also hadn’t taken his phone, as he wanted the time to unwind, so they hadn’t been able to use that to locate him. Before they’d been aware he was back in the area, he’d walked into the hospital…

Everything fell into place.

The other Clay was almost definitely Clarissa, sealed into an advanced Clay bodysuit. Her breasts were still there but strapped down, and her ‘lady parts’ were as well, just connected to male equivalents in the suit. Externally, the job was perfect; because they had rushed the work, however, she still had all her memories, and none of Clays…

Once the hospital knew what had happened, they got to work…

Finding a solvent for the glue was difficult, but not impossible. Finding an almost invisible gap between her eyes and the suit, the hospital injected the solvent…

It worked, quickly. With a feeling like ants crawling all over her, the suit was able to be peeled off, slowly.

Shortly, a naked Clarissa was lying on the bed, free at last from ‘Clay Tyler’…

Miki still gave her a kiss, though…!
