I stumbled out of bed, half awake.
I had a job interview later that day, and I was already making mistakes…
There was also a flat inspection that morning. I didn’t need to be there, as the landlord had a set of keys, so I was going to get ready then ‘chill out’ for a bit at the local café.
On autopilot, I got ready. I was doing everything by reflex, so it was only when I looked into the mirror that I realised what I’d done…
Alannah stared back at me. Perfectly made up, dressed up to the nines, looking as if it was her going to the interview.
Trouble is, I’m a guy. A very effeminate one, maybe, but a guy none the less…
Out of a need for ‘comfort’, as well as being half awake, I had dropped automatically into ‘Alannah’ mode.
At the same time, I heard the front door open. The landlord was here to start the inspection…
For a second, I froze like a deer in the headlights of a car.
No way to change back to ‘Alan’ before I was spotted, but I’d never really been in public before as Alannah. I’d just have to ‘go with the flow’…
“Oh, I’m sorry”, the landlord said. “I didn’t think there’d be anyone here.”
Shifting my voice up, just right, facing away from him, I said “It’s Ok, I was just dropping something off for Alan.”
I knew that if they saw my face, it would probably be game over; even though I had been Alannah for a while, I still wasn’t confident that I ‘looked the part’…
Oh well, I thought, might as well get it over with…
I turned around.
“Hi, I’m Alannah. Pleased to meet you.”
To my amazement, the landlord just smiled and said, “Likewise.”
I walked past him, heading for the door. As I did, I surreptitiously glanced back.
To my amazement, the landlord was eyeing me up, a smile on his face, as was the inspector with him. The trouble was the inspector was a woman, and a very attractive one.
“Would you excuse me a second?”, she said to the landlord; she then came over to me.
“Would you mind waiting a minute?”, she asked. “This will only take a minute, then I’ll be done for now. I’d really like to chat…”
“Ok”, I said. “I’ve got an interview later, but I can stop for a bit…”
What was I doing!? Here I was, a transgender guy in his first time really in company as a woman, and I was hanging around as Alannah while a gorgeous woman was hitting on me. Thank God I’d dressed fully as Alannah and the material of the skirt (PU leather) was hiding my ‘bulge’…
I watched whilst the pair inspected the flat. I still had a few hours before my interview; the trouble was I had to go as Alan, not Alannah. The firm was expecting a guy, so I’d need to get changed.
Shortly, the inspection was over and, after we all left the flat, the landlord locked it and left, waving goodbye to the inspector whose name, I’d learned, was Dawn.
Dawn came up to me then and, to my amazement, she put her arm around my waist.
“Tell me about this interview…”, she purred.
One thing led to another, and Dawn and I ended up in my usual café.
Sitting having drinks, we chatted for a while, behaving like two friends from college; mainly girly things, like her complimenting me on my attire, and my admiring her hair. We then got round to talking about my interview, over drinks.
“You were going for a job as a receptionist?”, she said. “Total waste. You’re PA material at least. My PA, to be exact…”
Dawn explained what the job entailed. At the same time, her foot started rubbing up and down my leggings.
I tried to maintain my composure, but I must have blushed, because she giggled softly.
“It’s Ok”, she said, “there’s no need to be embarrassed. I know who, and what, you are…”
My eyes widened in shock, and I went to get up to leave, in panic.
“Alannah! No, please! I didn’t say that to scare you. I said that to show why I wanted you…”, Dawn cried.
“You’re perfect for me”, she said. “My previous boyfriends have always wanted to try and control me, as they felt intimidated by a powerful woman and, at the same time, only really wanted one thing. You are the first person that has just seen me for what I am, but treated me as a friend, not a sex object.”
“That’s not entirely true…”, I said, blushing again.
“I still need someone to be affectionate toward me”, she said. “Just not in a brutal, ‘wham bam thank you mam’ kind of way. I want a real relationship, a friend and colleague that I want to take things further with, and you’re perfect for that. Putting it bluntly for a second, I want you. As you are. Right this way. Please, Alannah, come work with me, and stay with me. Live with me.”
Still nervous, not sure what to do, I still went to get up.
“If you want to leave now”, Dawn said in a quiet voice, “I’ll let you go. But I think you’ll be making the biggest mistake of your life…”
That was six months ago.
Here I am, back in the flat.
Our flat.
I’m just getting dinner ready for my beautiful wife, who’s had a business meeting that ran late (which she didn’t need me for, as ‘my’ assistant is handling it (it still feels weird thinking that…)
The cooking will look after itself for a minute, so I’m just going to pop upstairs and change into the satin dress she bought me for my birthday. I think she needs a treat when she gets in…
