[Contains a girl gaining multiple limbs]

I always felt there was something different about her.

When I moved to the city, I started going to this little coffee shop that was within walking distance of my apartment, usually once a week. The atmosphere was pleasant and the drinks were inexpensive, but it was oddly fun to watch the other customers come and go. There were a few regulars, but most of the people I don’t remember, with one exception.

About three or four months after I moved, a girl walked in while I was enjoying my coffee, and I could tell just by looking that something about her made her stand out. Most likely it was her snow white hair, which flowed down to her hips and almost looked fluffy in a way. The way it curled while remaining mostly straight made it look like she woke up like that, yet it was still perfect. It swayed and bounced so lightly when she walked, like a cloud on her head. Words can’t accurately explain the unique beauty of this girl just in her hair, not to mention her other features. Her soft skin, her gleaming pink eyes, her adorable smile, her curvy thighs, and, as a boobs guy myself, I couldn’t help but notice her breasts were more than adequate in size.

I almost felt breathless in the presence of this girl, but the other customers didn’t seem to think she was a big deal. I watched her walk to the counter and order her drink. The barista mentioned this was the fifth day in a row she’d been here. I didn’t see her last week, so she must be new in town. She finished ordering and sat down at a table across from me. I had to refrain from staring, though having my own drink to focus on did help. I couldn’t help myself from glancing at her between sips, however. As I drank, she waited while the barista called the names of people whose orders were ready, and right as I finished my drink and was leaving, she shouted out “Paula!” and the white haired girl stood up to get her coffee. So her name was Paula... Somehow, it suited her.

It sounds strange looking back, but I felt a strange connection to this girl in a way I couldn’t describe. We’d both just moved to the city and were both alone. Well, I assumed. I know I didn’t have any friends to go see now, and she always sat by herself at the coffee shop, just like I did. I felt the need to get to know her. Every time I stopped in for my weekly coffee, she’d either show up soon after or would already be there, and every time I tried to build up the courage to go talk to her, something about her radiance shut me down. I don’t know how, but the things that made her beautiful also made her hard to approach. This anxious cycle continued for five whole months, until one day...

I arrived at the coffee shop a little later than normal, but Paula wasn’t in her usual spot. In fact, she was nowhere to be found. Did I miss her? Did she even come in today? I ordered my drink and sat down, still thinking about the explanation to her absence... But then, she did arrive! But something seemed different about her, and I quickly realized it was the fact she had four arms.

Now, a human having more than the expected number of limbs, while rare, is entirely possible, but while most are born with their extra parts, there are some who will spontaneously grow new limbs at some point in their lives, though it’s less likely. We call people with multiple limbs “mutants”, and the event of growing new limbs a “mutation”. Personally, those terms make me think of nuclear waste and the like, but I suppose there’s no simpler way to describe it.

Anyways, if this girl wasn’t garnering much attention before, she certainly was now. There are very few mutants in this part of the city, so I can’t exactly blame people for the looks they were giving. Paula didn’t seem to act much different. She went up to the counter and asked for her usual. The barista seemed off put by her arms, but didn’t mention anything and started working on her drink while Paula herself sat down at her usual table.

It seemed almost impossible not to stare now. Good thing she was on her phone, or else she would absolutely have noticed. It seemed like she had mutated quite recently, considering the awkward movement of her arms, as if she had to focus on each one and what they were doing. Her outfit didn’t seem to fit her style quite as much, though I did notice it had four proper sleeves. Despite the strange nature of this change, she seemed still quite beautiful.

I was so entranced by her, I almost didn’t realize my name was being called. I stood up and got my coffee, then glanced back at her. For some reason, I felt like this was my chance. I thought about it, but I felt this urge to go talk to her stronger than ever. Wasting no more time standing around, I approached her table and asked “Uh, do you mind if I sit here?” She looked up, and with a slight smile, said “Oh, not at all!” I hesitantly sat down across from her and sipped my coffee. We made eye contact briefly before she looked back down at her phone, holding it in her front hands while her back hands rested on her legs.

“Paula!” The barista called her name. She stood up, put her phone in her pocket, and walked to the counter. She talked to the barista a little bit before returning to the table, drink in hand. “That girl always remembers how many times I’ve been here,” she said gesturing to the counter behind her with her back-right arm. “Well, you are quite memorable,” I said. She sipped her coffee. “Yeah, that and the fact I come in every day.” She fiddled with her hair. “I’m a little bit of a coffee addict, heh.” She glanced away. “This place is nice, plus it’s close to where I live, so...”

I observed her left arms both playing with her hair, her front arm twiddling in the front while her back arm stroked the back. “Uh, I don’t know if it’s a touchy subject, but...” I said. “What, the arms?” She said during my pause. “Yeah, what’s that like? If you don’t mind me asking...” She parted her bangs. “It’s uhh... weird,” she said with a small laugh, “I dunno how to feel about it yet, I only got ‘em yesterday.” “Oh, really?” I asked. “Yep! I was just chillin’ at my place when I noticed this strange tingling sensation throughout my whole entire body. It slowly started getting more and more intense until...” She held up her back hands, “these things shot out of my shoulders.” She waved them a little. “Well, they didn’t really shoot out, but they grew faster than I expected. Totally ruined one of my favourite shirts too.”

“Hm. And on the subject of shirts, where’d you get yours?” I asked, pointing at it. “Oh, there’s a clothing store down the road that does multi-limbed shirts,” she said. “Unfortunately, they only had, like, two four-armed shirts that I liked and were my size, but they do custom stuff for mutants, so I’m getting some nicer stuff made.” “Huh. Sounds like quite the hassle,” I responded. “I imagine you can’t really wear any of your old clothes anymore, right?” “Actually, they can add new sleeves to your old stuff,” she said. “But not all of it. Too expensive, so there goes most of my long sleeved shirts. And my jackets. And my hoodies...” She glanced at her right shoulders.

“But hey, it’s not all bad! Carrying groceries will be so much easier now!” She concluded with a smile. “Yeah, good point! And maybe you’ll be able to multitask a bit too!” I replied. “Ugh, I hope,” She said with a sigh. “It feels like I can barely control everything at once. I have to, like, focus in on what all my hands are doing all the time.” “Yeah, but this is a big change, and it’s only just happened,” I responded. “You’ll get used to it.” Paula smiled. “Heh, I’m glad that way. Thank you.” She finished the rest of her coffee. “Anyways, I gotta get to work now.” “Oh, me too!” I said. We both stood up. “Well, maybe we can stay in touch?” I asked. “Well, I’m still coming here every morning, so you’ll know where to find me,” she said. “Anyways, don’t wanna be late. See ya!” She walked out the door, waving goodbye with her left arms. “Bye!” I responded before leaving out the door too.

Sure enough, my next weekly visit, she was there. We continued to exchange conversation while enjoying our drinks together. The next week, the same thing, and so on and so forth. At some point, she gave me her number, and then we started messaging each other. I made the offer to her to come visit my apartment, and she did. And before I even knew it, we were dating. To this day, I’m still surprised I managed to be with this girl, but I loved it. And I loved her. And she loved me back, too. We started getting closer to each other, and for the first time, and I remember this vividly, she let me touch her hair. And yes, it was as beautifully soft as it looked. “Everyone always makes the comparison to fur,” She said to me as I ran my fingers down her hair. I also learned that her hair is entirely natural, but no one knows what exactly made it that way.

One evening, a few months since we first talked, we were watching a movie together at my place. It was nice, but I noticed she kept looking at her shoulders for some reason. At one point, she excused herself to go to the bathroom, and I continued the movie alone. But eventually, it felt like she was away for far too long, so I went to go check on her. I knocked on the bathroom door to ask if she was ok, but she spoke from behind the door before I could say anything. “Uh, don’t come in!” She said, her voice wavering slightly. “Why? Did something happen?” I asked. “Um, well... this is certainly... something...” she replied. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. Just... give me a minute.”

My mind raced with thoughts of what possibly could have happened, but when she eventually allowed me to come in, I didn’t expect to open the door to her pants on the floor and her covering her waist with a towel... and with three legs. “Heh, yeah,” she said, possibly reading my surprise. “When the new leg grew in, it pushed my pants down, and I obviously can’t put them on anymore, so...” I stared longer at her legs. “But... you already mutated!” I finally said. “There’s never been reports of anyone mutating more than once!” “Well, there’s a first time for everything, I guess.” She responded.

She sighed. “I sure hope that store does pants as well. And bras too, probably.” “Huh? Why-“ And that’s when I noticed that underneath the lumps beneath her shirt were... two matching lumps. She had four breasts now. “Ohhhh...” She looked up at me. “Wait... you just now noticed? I half expected that to be the first thing you noticed!” She said, seemingly jokingly. “Well, uhh... It’s just... I was distracted... a bit... by your legs...” I stammered. We paused. “Boy, is this awkward,” she said. “Let’s just get to the clothing store before they close.” She leaned forward, possibly about to put a leg forward, but froze. “Oh my gosh, am I gonna have to learn how to walk again!?” “Don’t worry, I can help you if you need it...” I said. “Not yet.” She replied. Holding the towel around herself with her back arms and holding on the wall and sink with her front arms, she slowly stepped forward with her right leg, then her middle, then her left. Right, middle, left. “Actually, this is easier than I thought!” She said. Her legs were still shaky, and she was still a bit slow, but she could still walk on her own.

We walked to the store together holding hands. I had to walk a little slower so she could keep up, but we eventually made it. By the time we got there, she was walking much smoother, adapting a new walking pattern where she’d put her outer legs forward first, then her middle leg, and repeat. She said it felt more balanced than how she was walking before. When we entered the store, I was surprised to see that 50% of the other customers were mutants. Though with how many benefits this store offered to them, maybe I shouldn’t have been. It’s still the most amount of mutants I’ve been around in my life.

Paula was able to buy some three-legged pants as well as some double-bras that suited her, and said she’d go to her place to get some clothes they could tailor. With that, we parted ways for the night. All in all, Paula’s second mutation went smoothly, and she was walking with three legs just as well as she was with two, if not better. I’d sometimes find myself falling behind when we went for walks. I definitely appreciated the extra boobs, too.

Over the next couple months, we started becoming even closer. I’d go over to her apartment sometimes instead of just vice versa. We would sometimes cuddle together when sitting on the couch, and we’d even stay the night at each other’s place, sleeping together in bed. This newfound touchy-feely-ness meant that I not only got to feel her hair more, but the rest of her body as well. I must say, cuddling with a multi-limbed person is an experience I didn’t think I’d enjoy so much.

Many months later, I was spending some time by myself at my apartment when I received a text. It was from Paula, and it said “Come over, I just mutated.” Naturally, this came as a massive shock to me. One person going through two mutations was already unheard of, so I hadn’t even thought of the possibility of another one. With little hesitation, I rushed over to her apartment, thinking about what changes her body could have went through.

I reached her door, which was unlocked. I went inside and found the place empty. “Paula? Where are you?” I called out. “I’m in the bathroom!” She replied, but it almost sounded like two voices? I approached the bathroom door tentatively. “Are you alright? Why does your voice sound like that?” I asked. “I’m fine,” she said, “I’m just having trouble... controlling it. You can open the door now.” I twisted the doorknob and slowly opened the door, a little scared of what I was about to see. I had several ideas, though I wasn’t entirely expecting to see her shirtless, though still wearing a bra, and with two heads.

“Well?” Both of her heads said at once. I stared for a while, still taking it all in. “I uhh... I don’t know what to... make of this.” She looked at me, then her left head spoke. “Oh come on! Isn’t this great? I have twice as much hair now!” Her left head smiled, then her right head continued speaking. “Of course, I’m still practicing talking with one mouth at a time,” she switched back to her left head, “but it’s actually a lot of fun...” She started saying every word with the opposite head. “to” “switch” “back” “and” “forth” “between” “heads!” Both heads giggled in unison.

I simply stood in the doorway, frozen. “What, is this too weird for you?” Her left head said while her right head glanced at her left. “Um... It’s just... a lot to take in.” I said. “It’s weird looking at two different faces and convincing myself they’re the same person.” Left Paula: “Yeah, it’s pretty strange.” She looked in the mirror beside her while her right head continued speaking to me. “It’s weird looking at myself in the mirror, especially when I’m looking at two different things like I am right now.” Both heads looked at me while her left spoke. “But remember, no matter how many heads I have, or any body part for that matter, I’m still your girlfriend.” Her heads smiled. “Speaking of which, do you think you’ll ever mutate again?” I asked. Right Paula: “Hmm... I don’t know,” Left Paula: “it’s too early to say.” Right Paula: “I wouldn’t mind it, but I kinda hope I don’t. I have enough limbs to worry about now.” “Yeah, you’re perfect the way you are,” I said while stroking her left head’s hair. “Not to say you weren’t perfect before.” Both heads giggled again. “I’m glad you feel that way,” her left head said. She bent down and grabbed her shirt from the floor. “Now, let’s get to the clothing store to get some proper shirts,” her right head concluded.

We put most of her shirts in a bag, then walked down to the clothing store so they could be given second head-holes. She picked out some new shirts while we were there too, searching the aisles with two sets of eyes. The newly tailored shirts came in about a week later, and looked great on her. With the extreme nature of her body, finding new clothes could be a challenge—she still only had one four-armed jacket, which got stretched a little thanks to the space her two heads took up—but she didn’t seem to mind.

It’s been over a year since our first chat, and I’m happy to say we’re still together. We spend plenty of time together, cuddling, watching movies, or going on walks, and of course, we still have drinks together at the same coffee shop we first met. She definitely gets plenty of looks in public thanks to her strange body, but neither of us care. I didn’t fall for her because of her extra parts, but they just seem to make her even more precious. The way she holds my hand between two of hers, the way she bounces while walking on three legs, the way her hair flows from both of her heads, how she looks over at me with one head while the other focuses ahead... I wouldn’t trade this girl for anything in the world.
