[Contains multilimb based body changes, including multiboobs, multiarms, multilegs, multiheads, and more. Also contains body part loss, such as heads, arms and legs]
Well, I’ve decided I’m finally gonna do it. My friends play these kinds of games at parties or just while hanging out and I always have to politely decline when they ask me to join. I don’t know what my aversion is, I’ve seen plenty of people with extra or missing limbs from the games my friends play or just out in public sometimes, but I’ve never had it happen to myself. Until today.
There’s plenty of board games with the “magic body morphing” gimmick where you pick a card or spin a spinner or something and you grow another pair of legs or your arms disappear or you gain a second head or something else along those lines, but the one I picked up on a whim at the supermarket is called Madjic. It’s specifically designed for when you wanna just hang out with friends and do weird stuff to your bodies, preferably while drinking, or for people who have no experience with this kind of thing and want to try it with no frills or complications, like me.
It’s not really so much of a game than it is a method of experiencing random body mutations, you can even play it by yourself. Basically, it’s a deck of cards that you draw from and whatever the card says happens to you. Things like “Gain an extra pair of eyes” or “Lose one leg”. That’s it. No rulebook, no “correct” way to play, nothing. The game’s box is super small because all it has are the cards. The only complicated part is using the control card, which is basically the way of setting up the game and making sure things don’t go wrong. The card has four buttons on it. Well, they’re just circles printed on the card, but they do stuff when you touch them. The green button is what activates the game. You place any number of cards face down, put the control card on top, and by pressing the button, all the cards beneath it become “active”, meaning they do stuff when pulled. Cards automatically deactivate when they’re pulled, and you can deactivate any and all active cards by just pressing the red button. The other two buttons are for helping the player; the blue one automatically removes any changes made to the one who touches it, reverting their body back to normal. As for the yellow one, it can be turned on and off, and it’ll glow faintly when on. While it’s on, if no cards are drawn for five minutes straight, all players will be reverted back to normal. It’s basically a way to prevent players from being unable to revert themselves if they lose all their limbs and no one’s around to help them.
So besides the control card, it’s a super easy “game” to “play”. You can just grab a card if you get bored while talking with friends, you can grab a few cards and just see what happens, you can even go out in public after being changed if you want. Trust me, I’ve seen it more than you’d expect. Some people really enjoy their bodies being altered in such dramatic ways, others just think it’s fun to see what happens with their friends. No wonder it’s such a great party game. But I’ve wasted enough time just talking about this game, it’s time to actually play it.
I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but after opening the box and setting the cards on the table, I was suddenly struck with a wave of nervousness. This is kind of a big deal. Like, these changes don’t happen to your body every day. What is it gonna feel like? What if it hurts? What’s going to happen to me? Whatever, I need to just get this over with already. I sat down at the table, put the control card over the stack of cards, and hit the green button. It glowed for a few seconds, then flashed before returning to normal, indicating the activation process was complete. I glanced uneasily at the stack of cards, now primed to change my body in horrifying ways. I was wearing just a white t-shirt and some jean shorts, but it didn’t matter. Your clothes would also be adapted to suit any changes in your body, which is a nice addition to be honest. Okay. Enough stalling. I shakily reached for the deck, hesitated, then drew a card that read:
“Gain an extra leg.”
The moment I finished reading the card, I could feel a tingling sensation between my legs, like when your foot falls asleep but... stranger? I looked down to see my hips widen as a new hole appeared in my shorts, with a blob of flesh sliding out soon after. I watched in awe as this blob quickly grew longer and longer, eventually bending down at the knee before ending off with a foot and five toes, the big one on the left. And then, the tingling stopped, and I could suddenly feel from this new appendage. I moved it up, without even really having to think about it, and I realized what had happened to me. And how cool it was. I probably had the dumbest smile on my face as I just sat there and swung all three of my legs back and forth for a bit, only stopping because I wanted to look at myself in the mirror, which was just down the hall. Sitting up, I could feel the weight being put on my new leg and I paused for a moment before stepping forward with my left leg, then my right. I stumbled a bit as my middle leg caught up to the others before stepping with my left again. Then middle, then right. Left, middle, right, left, middle... It felt so surreal, but I somehow instinctively knew how to walk with three legs. It was kind of insane. Which I know sounds dumb, but there really isn’t a way to describe it. It’s like I was a completely different animal. Anyways, I walked over to the mirror and took in my new body. The extra space required for the new leg widened my hips quite a bit, and of course, there was a whole new freaking leg on my body, but from the waist up, I was still me. One thing I never found out was what happened to what was usually between my legs. I suspect I had a new one between each pair, but I couldn’t feel the difference and I never bothered to look. Walking back to the table, I was surprised by my own excitement to pick another card, considering how nervous I was earlier, but wasting no time, I swiftly grabbed another one.
“Gain an extra breast.”
Oh, that’s one of the parts? What would happen if a guy was playing? I was too busy asking questions in my head to even notice any changes, but I could feel some new weight that confirmed that something had happened. Looking down, I could tell I had another boob between my two normal ones, but I knew I needed a better angle. Turning around, I headed for the mirror again. Now, I’m not embarrassed to say my boobs were already pretty decent in size. Not stupid big, but definitely noticeable without being too extreme. But looking at my body in the mirror, with one leg and one boob more than usual, it definitely felt like my boobs were just a tad bit bigger than usual. I don’t know if it was an illusion from there being more of them, or if it was just in my head, or if they genuinely did throw in a tiny bit of boob expansion just for fun, but it did seem like they had grown just a little. Not enough to really notice, but that’s just how I felt. Whatever. Alright, so we’ve had a pretty major change and a pretty neutral change, lets see what happens with card number 3. But before I go back to the table, I might as well bring the mirror with me if I’m gonna be checking myself out every time something changes. Wrapping my arms around the mirror, I hoisted it up away from the wall it was leaning against, carried it to the dining room, and leaned it against the wall next to the table. And yes, I felt all three of my boobs squishing against the mirror as I did so. I sat down and grabbed a card without hesitation, and felt my heart drop as I read it.
“Lose all of your legs.”
Oh man, I completely forgot these cards can take away as well as give. Well, good thing I’m already sitting down for this. I looked down at my now numb legs as my feet slowly shrank away into nothing. The stump of my legs moved up as if someone were moving a blanket over them, until they receded back into my pants, which eventually lost the middle hole as my hips returned to normal size. Now my lower half was just as it was before, except missing two legs. I put my hands where my legs once were, almost hoping I could still feel them and they were still there, just covered up by some magic illusion. But no, my hands just hit the chair. They were gone. And just to make sure, I put my hands through the leg holes in my pants only to be met with smooth skin, not even a bump. They were super gone. Hoisting myself down to the floor with my arms, I revelled in how tall everything seemed, and how the empty spaces where my legs were felt on the ground, and how much lighter I felt too. I could basically kinda walk on my hands, which is how I got to the mirror to look at what I became. To be honest, I looked kinda pathetic. Though my boobs looked even bigger like this. Ok, this has to be some kind of optical illusion having to do with body mass or something. There’s no way my boobs are actually changing size this much. Maybe I’ll ask my friends about it, because I can’t be the only one to have noticed this. I waddled back to the chair and climbed up, reaching for another card. Hopefully this one can fix my leg situation, but I knew deep down as I grabbed it that it probably wouldn’t. And I was right.
“Gain an extra head.”
Oh boy, I’ve always wondered what it was like to have two heads. Maybe not now considering all the other stuff happening to me, but it’s not like I can do anything at this point. My mind suddenly went numb. My vision blurred and my ears rang. I couldn’t tell what was going on, I could hardly even think. I think I felt my neck shifting to the left, then I felt that tingling on the space to my right, and then it was over. My vision came back, the ringing stopped, and I could think again, but something felt off. It felt like I was seeing... a bit more than usual, and everything seemed a bit louder. “What is going on?” I thought. “What is happening?” I suddenly noticed some thoughts felt like they were coming from the left, and others from the right. It was then that I remembered what had just happened and I looked to my left, and my right simultaneously. Both my heads were now facing, and I could see both my faces. It was unreal. I was seeing from two pairs of eyes at once. I examined my left head from my right eyes and vice versa. Both heads seemed to be carbon copies of one another. “Hello?” I said with my right mouth. “This is crazy, like, I don’t even...” my left mouth replied. Everything about this seemed dreamlike, yet it was so real. I got off my chair to look at myself in the mirror, only to fall on my faces due to my lack of legs. It was just a moment ago I had three of them and it felt like the craziest thing ever, now here I was with no legs, three boobs, and an extra head. I “stood up” and technically hand-stood over to the mirror, basking in the glory of my two heads. “I probably have-“ my left thought was interrupted by a right thought. “Two brains. I wonder...” left took the spotlight from right now. “Can I read two things at once?” Seeing as there were no books around, I decided to try something that probably wouldn’t go well. Propping myself back on the chair, I grabbed two cards at once and read each with a different head.
“Gain double the amount of breasts you currently have.”
“Gain an extra pair of arms.”
To my surprise, I actually was able to read two things at once. And understand them too, considering the mixed emotions I was feeling as the tingling returned. Right below the three boobs I already had, I could feel three more lumps growing. At the same time, a pair of bumps emerged from the back of my shoulders and quickly became longer. Not sure where to focus, I looked around confused with both heads until the tingles stopped, and I was immediately awestruck by my arms. I had so much control over all four of them and it felt so strange, yet so cool. I looked at both of my left arms with both heads for a bit, then switched to my rights, then observed both sides with one head each. I scooted off the chair with my back arms, as in the ones I just got, and landed on my front arms, making my way for, you guessed it, the mirror. Just looking at myself with all arms leaning on the ground, it wasn’t obvious anything had changed from last time. Well, except that I had two rows of three boobs now. My new arms hid themselves by being lined up with my normal ones. But when I raised them while keeping my old hands to the floor, the change was pretty apparent. Climbing back onto the chair, my left head had the idea of pulling four cards at once, one in each hand, but I quickly dismissed it. My right head was just thinking about how much easier these mirror trips would be if I had legs. And as I pulled my next card, I hoped that could change.
“Gain another pair of legs.”
And my hope paid off. You don’t know how satisfying it was to watch my legs slowly reform, and standing up again once they had. I doubt I’m gonna take my legs for granted ever again. Still standing, I reached for another card with my back-right hand, and read it with my right head. Sorry, I just thought it would be cool to specify. I don’t usually get to do that.
“Gain another finger on each hand.”
I think the change finished before I was even done reading the card. I seriously had to count my fingers to notice I had six on each hand instead of five. Either it was a smaller change than I’d expected, or I’m less observant than I thought. Or maybe my brain is just frazzled from everything that’s happening. Brains, rather, considering the whole two heads thing, though that would soon change.
“Lose all of your heads.”
“What.” Was my first thought after reading that. From the right, by the way, but both heads weren’t doing much thinking as they slowly receded back into my torso. And just like that, I was headless. Couldn’t see, smell, taste or hear. Of my five senses, touch was the only thing I had left. I could still think, though, so did I still have a brain? I looked around, well, it was really more like my body turned back and forth a bit. I don’t suppose I’ll be able to see myself in the mirror like this, so I guess I just have to pull cards until I could see again. I felt for the chair, which I sat on before reaching around for the deck. I grabbed four or five cards, then flipped them all at once. I couldn’t read them, of course, but I could feel the changes, specifically my brain going numb again. Rather, I was in that weird “hard to think” state that I go through whenever something happened to my head. Once I could see again, several things felt different. The first thing I noticed was my arms, or lack there of. I guess I got a card that took all my arms away. Great. In other news, my third leg was back, I’d lost two boobs, meaning it was two rows of two now, and I also didn’t have a mouth. Looking in the mirror, it felt weird trying to say something and making no noise at all. You’d think it’d be terrifying, but it was kinda soothing in a weird way. By this point, I felt I’d gotten the point of this thing by now, so I set a new goal that I’d hit that blue button as soon as I had the arms to do so. For now, I stood on the chair and grabbed a new card with my rightmost leg.
“Gain double the amount of legs you currently have.”
My whole lower section shifted to the right a bit as my hips widened greatly to make room for two more legs on the left and one on the right. It was nice to have an even amount of legs instead of having another right foot in the middle, but this was kinda overwhelming. Having stepped off the chair the moment I read “legs”, I had all the space on the floor to work with. I quickly learned my walking pattern was in an alternative style, so every odd numbered leg, then every even numbered one. Like I had two legs, but times three, if that makes any sense. Stepping back on the chair, there wasn’t enough room for my outermost legs, so they kinda had to just float there as I grabbed a card with my second foot from the right, hoping to get a card that would give me some arms.
“Gain double the amount of arms you currently have.”
Zero times zero is still zero. Very funny, game. I drew again.
“Gain another pair of eyes on each head.”
My vision temporarily blurred as a second pair of eyes appeared below my first. Cool, now I could see all the bad cards I was pulling twice as much.
“Gain two more heads.”
Woah, that was quite a jump. I felt my shoulders expand a bit before my mind went numb. Big surprise, I had three heads when I regained consciousness. The process had also widened my torso quite a bit, pretty much the same width as my hips. This process spread my boobs out, so now I had a row of four. Also, each head still had the extra eyes, meaning I now had six in total. “Okay, this is getting ridiculous.” My middle head thought. “I need to get-“ “My arms back-“ “Eventually.” My left and right heads exchanged.
“Gain an extra finger on each hand.”
Okay, now they’re just mocking me. What do I have to do just to get my arms back!?
“Gain an extra toe on each foot.”
Okay, at least that actually did something. But still, not what I want.
“Gain an extra mouth on each head.”
Woah, I’d totally forgotten I didn’t have a mouth. Or any mouths, for that matter. I had gotten something back, at least.
“Gain double the amount of breasts you currently have.”
I said I would keep going until I got my arms back, but I didn’t know it would take this long. Come on, give me something...
“Gain an extra breast.”
Give me something besides more boobs.
“Gain an extra arm.”
Finally, I don’t have to keep grabbing cards with me feet. And I can actually end this game now. Thank you. But before I pressed the reset button, I wanted to look in the mirror one last time to see what I’d become. Looking at my reflection, I had three heads with four eyes each, nine total boobs, a row of five with four more underneath, six feet with six toes on each, and of course, one measly arm on my right, the hand having seven fingers. I didn’t realize it’d keep track. Anyways, this whole thing had been an experience and a half, but as I walked over to the control card and touched that blue circle, I can’t deny it felt really satisfying as every change to my body was slowly reversed. Finally, I stood in front of the mirror and saw myself with a proper amount of limbs through and through. And before I forgot, I hit the red button to deactivate the remaining cards. Counting up all the cards face-up on the table, I had pulled roughly 25 cards in total. It felt like I’d been through a lot, and I had. It was already late when I started, but now it was even later now and all this body mutating had distracted me from how tired I was. I stacked the cards back up, put them back in the box, closed it and then went up to bed.
Overall, it was a great first time experience, even though it got a little frustrating at the end. It can be fun to draw a bunch of cards and just see what crazy things happen to you, but I think I’ll have to play this one with my friends to truly appreciate what it can do. If I ever get asked how to get into magic body morphing games, Madjic will be my first response.
