Even in their office, the head of the After School Magic Club wore her mask. Or perhaps it was because the person in front of her wasn't a member. Yet.

"So, you want to join," she said as she examined some papers in front of her.

Josie nodded, slightly intimidated by the woman in the business suit who sat on the other side of the desk.  She was in her nice blouse and skirt herself, but it didn't seem to matter.  Then, realizing that she wasn't being watched and her motion had probably gone unnoticed, she said "Yes, I do."

"Alright," the Head didn't look up. "There are some things I need to tell you before we move on to the next part."

That was ... less painful than Josie was expecting. Given what went on in the show, she dreaded ... something. Something worse.  "What would that be?"

"First, is that as a member of the Club, you are only required to participate in club activities when you so choose. You cannot be forced into anything by anyone inside or outside of the club," the Head glanced up at her. "Many have tried to take advantage, and all have failed. I deal with those personally."

Josie didn't doubt her one bit. "I understand."

"Good.  On the other side, when you participate in club activities, your ability to say 'no' stops. You will participate, and while you may fake objections for the benefit of the act, they will be fake.  This means that your body can and will be taken from your total control, with the main act or the after show."

"I understand."

"Do you?" the Head didn't look up. "You will be put in fetish clothes, stripped naked for strangers to see, and will inevitably have sex with those same strangers. You will be put on display, and violated."

Jodie gulped. "I understand."

"On the other side to that, you will have the opportunity to lead others and be lead by others," the Head flipped a page. "Therefore, you will leave anything done during the club activities inside the club. Take nothing in or out with you, even if you completely despise the person."

"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," Josie quipped.

"Exactly.  Although this club has never gone there. Atlantic City tends to give me better deals."  The Head flipped another page and kept reading.  "On the other other side of that, you will have free use of club resources for your personal use."  She grinned. "We have two couples already this year who make use of our props."

Josie blushed, but nodded. "So we can have fun between shows?"

"Of course!  I would not be that cruel to those who put themselves up for the fun of others to not reciprocate."

"Is there anything else?"

"A whole bunch of legal documents I have to print off," the Head said. "While I do that, you go through the initiation."

"The what now?" Josie asked for clarification with some worry.

"Well, we can't just have you sign up and go right into the thick of things," the Head explained. "So if you're still willing after my verbal disclaimer, you go through the initiation.  If you get through that and still want to be in the club, you get to sign off on the paperwork, and can join in the crew."

"Oh.  What happens?"

"I won't tell you. That would ruin the surprise."  The woman in the suit set down her papers.  "If you agree, head to room 2 dash 311 in the Arts building.  If you don't, you can walk away and this meeting never happened."

Josie knocked on the door before letting herself in. The sign on the door said it was for the painting room, and she saw nothing that she wouldn't have expected from that. Easels, paint supplies, well lit.  The works.  Even the half-dozen people in the room were normally dressed.  The nearest one, a man older that her, she supposed, stood up and greeted her. "Ah!  You must be our model! The Club said they would send someone."

"Right!" The agreement was out of her mouth before she realized it. "I'm the model."  She looked around, her confusion unfaked. "But I wasn't told for what."

"Oh!  Right!"  The man turned to the front of the room, where a white sheet had been set up. "We needed a model for our portraits, and the Club sent you."  He gestured at the sheet. "Once you're up there, we can begin."

"Ah," Josie relaxed. This wasn't what she was expecting.  At all.  "Did you need anything else, aside from me to stand up there?"

He shook his head, and Josie wondered why he hadn't introduced himself.  Perhaps he assumed she already knew?  She hadn't said her name either.  Was this usual?  "Nope, just head on up to the sheet and we can start."

Doing as she was told, Josie walked over to the front of the room and stood in front of the white sheet. "Like this?" She didn't do a fancy pose, instead relaxing with her arms at her sides.

"That'll do," the man said as he went over to his easel. He picked up a small camera and turned it on her.  "This is not one of those classes with the fancy-schmancy pretentious art critics as a teacher."  He clicked the camera, and the flash blinded Josie.

Her sight returned, but everything else seemed wrong. She tried to move her head, but nothing happened, her arms and legs refused to move, and when she tried to speak, nothing came out.

"There," the man said as he put the camera down. "One picture to make a portrait from, and no way for anyone to cheat a practice sketch ahead of time."  He picked up a pencil. "Now, everyone, your hour begins."

It took a moment, but Josie was able to figure out what had happened.  The flash was something special, and now she was fixed in place somehow to prevent her from moving. She was relaxed, which she supposed was part of the magic, because otherwise breathing would be a problem.  All she had to do was wait out the time frame, and be back to normal.

It was also kinda tame, when you thought about it.  She was definitely expecting more from the club that did those shows.  Being stuck in a casual pose for an hour was ....

Before she knew it, the hour had passed by. Silence had reigned for the most part as the loudest sounds were those of people sharpening pencils and the like.  Everyone put away their supplies, and the man with the camera came up to her.  "Thank you for your help," he said as he reached above her, almost getting into her personal space in the process.

Then she heard a ripping sound from above.  Ripping?  What?

Her view ... flexed for the lack of a better term, and she could see the edges of a white sheet, like the one she was standing with her back to.  Except, her confused mind finally figured out, she wasn't frozen in place.

She had been, in that flash, turned into a picture.  A real-sized picture of her.

And now she was being rolled up.

Before her sight became the white of the back of the sheet, and her hearing muffled, she heard him say "I'll be back, gotta drop her off with the print boys."

*  *  *

Her world was weird. She knew she was flat. She was rolled up.  And she felt like she was moving.  The 'Print boys'?  What?  What was happening?  Fear gripped her.

But if she wanted to be a part of the club, wasn't this her test?  Her initiation?  If she couldn't handle this, then there was no way she could handle anything else, right?

Then something weird happened, another flash of light, then a high-pitched keening sound from around her.

She waited for it to end, forcing herself into patience.  As the sounds ceased, she was still surrounded by pitch blackness.  But unlike before, she was now sitting down, legs folded against her, and her arms wrapped out them.  She heard something from around her, muffled, like it was voices on the other side of a door.

A light appeared, a crack in the darkness, and a door opened.  Josie tried to move again, but could not.  But she could see in the newfound light, and it was certainly something different.  She was light brown now, a uniform colour that reminded her of sand of all things.

Was she a statue now?!?

She was rolled out on a tray, and she could see herself in a mirror.  Yep.  Totally a statue.  Which was weird, but still not the worst thing that could happen to her.  At least she wasn't panicking, though she felt that was still an option.  Around her were a few people, though she couldn't see them properly as she couldn't move.  Her best option was to observe the mirror.

"Amazing!"  One said, an older woman.  "So lifelike!"

"Well duh," another replied, "She's with the Club."

"And she's the most complicated object ever made with our 3D Printer!" a third said.  "Each individual strand of hair is accounted for properly!"  Josie felt someone touch her, but their back was turned to the mirror, so she couldn't tell who it was.

"Well, the test is done," the first woman said with a sigh.  "Where did we put those instructions?"

"Here!" someone else said. "We're supposed to cover the statue in a cloth, count to three, then remove it."

"I hate that. So unscientific."  Josie was having problems keeping everything straight.

"Well, it does have a basis in myth.  Some Greek dude?  Polygamon?"

"That's a Pokemon, you dumbass."

"Pygmalion was the guy who made a statue that turned into a woman."

"Neat!  Does that mean we get to name the machine that?"

There was an assenting chorus, which Josie mentally roller her eyes at.  She just wanted this to be over already, and move on to the next thing, whatever it was.

"Got a cloth!" someone said, and threw it over her.  She thought she recognized the person, but was unable to focus on them.  "One!  Two!  Three!"

The cloth whipped off, and Josie blinked.  She yawned. "Oh, that was relaxing."  She did feel relaxed.  Carefully stretching out, she made sure she was still in one piece. "So, what's this about a printer?"

"Oh," the older woman said, Josie suspected she was a professor, "we got a new machine, and needed something complex and large to test it out on. A suggestion and a negotiation later, we experimented with scanning in a 2d image of a 3d object - you - and printed you out!"

That ... Josie shook her head. "All in a day's work, I suppose."

That earned some small laughter. "For you, it would be.  Oh!  I was told that once you were done here, you were to head back to your office."  The professor(?) pointed at a nearby door. "Turn right, and head down the second set of stairs, past the cafeteria and that will get you outside."

"Thanks!" Josie got to her feet and walked away, glad she had passed.  Or at least, she hoped she had.

"So, how was your little excursion?" the Club Head asked, pushing a pile of papers at Josie.  It was the legalese.  She grimaced.

"Not as bad as I was thinking it would be," Josie replied as she started reading the top sheet. Oh, this was simple, just confirming who she was. As she read and put in information, she told the Head what had happened.  When she finished, she looked up and saw the Head frowning.  "What?  Did I do something wrong?"

"No, not you."  The Head stood up.  "I need to go check on a couple things."

"What?!" Josie was worried now that something had gone wrong, and she was somehow at fault.

"Oh don't worry," the Head said with a smile. "This isn't on you."  She headed for the door.  "I just have to find out where your clothes went, and to make sure there are no other copies of you running around right now."

"Oh, ok."  Josie went back to the paperwork, hearing the door close behind her before the words actually made their way into comprehension.

"Wait!"  She looked at herself, aghast. "Where are my clothes?!?"
