"Actually," the Rabbit turned to her assistant, "why don't you go out and pick someone - who isn't asking for it."
Remembering that Penny had volunteered, the pink-dressed woman nodded, the fake ears flopping with the motion. "Any requests?"
The Rabbit shook her head. "No, you go do that while I get the next prop."
"Alright," was the reply as the dark magician turned and walked away, letting her hips sway back and forth, attracting a fair bit of attention.
The assistant went out again into the crowd, this time ignoring the people looking to volunteer with their eyes meeting hers, or their hands in the air. She had instructions, and she was going to follow them!
She found a table of women, all chatting quietly with each other. As they were too busy talking, none of them noticed her approach. She couldn't tell much about them so she picked one at random and put her hand on her shoulder. "Congratulations!" she announced loudly. "You just volunteered!"
"I what?" the woman asked, started at the contact. "Oh. Crap."
The others started laughing. "Come on, Laurel," a vaguely Asian woman said. The helper couldn't really tell. "We all knew this could happen, and you got lucky!"
Laurel stood up. "Alright. But my drink had better still be here when I get back!"
In response, another of the five women reached over, took the glass that had been Laurel's and drank it all in one gulp. "See you later!"
With a glare, Laurel responded with a very impolite gesture before letting the helper guide her up to the stage. "So, you a plant?" she asked.
"No," the helper replied. "I think I'm supposed to be a bunny?" she touched the earpieces above her. "Or it could just be a theme."
"Not what I wanted, but I'll take it," Laurel mentally groaned at the evasive answer. And it was delivered so naturally too!
The two got onto the stage as the Rabbit returned. She locked eyes with Laurel, a moment's recognition flickering across her face before it went away. "Why hello there," she said.
"Hey there," Laurel said as she introduced herself. Now that she was in the light, the assistant saw that she was Caucasian, with light brown hair cut to her shoulders. Her blue shirt and black skirt were nothing special, nor were the shoes on her feet.
In the arms of the Rabbit was a very large easel, with a large sheaf of papers attached to it. She kicked out the bottom of the art piece, allowing the tripod to steady itself safely. The Rabbit then checked Laurel's height and went back to the easel, raising it up past her. She then attached the paper, letting the large book of sheets fall to the floor. "Be a dear," she said as she flipped up the top sheet, "and stand here."
Laurel did as she was told, stepping up against the larger portion of the papers and facing outward.
The Rabbit dropped the top sheets, covering Laurel. "Comfy?" she asked.
"Just great!" Laurel replied from behind the paper. Her outline was obvious and she waved, the rustle of paper loud in the small theatre.
"I'm glad to hear that!" The Rabbit leaned behind the easel and produced a long straightedge. She placed against the top of the paper, above Laurel's hidden head and then with no warning, slid it down the whole height of the paper! As it descended, Laurel vanished from under the paper, no physical sign of her standing there remained.
The Rabbit handed the clear drawing tool to her helper, who cautiously took it. "Let's see what we have here," she said as she started to flip up page after page of paper. "You know, I should have asked you to get some of her friends," the Rabbit commented as she flipped up one more page. "Ah-ha!"
There, on the paper, was the image of Laurel, her eyes slightly wide at the sudden change. The Rabbit flipped up the page to reveal nothing under it - it was just the one image. "Well, she's no Mona Lisa," the woman said, "but she'll do."
She went behind the easel again, this time emerging with a small bucket full of markers. She handed it to her assistant, then plucked one out, seemingly at random. She popped the cap and drew a small line off to one side, revealing the ink to be red.
"You know," the Rabbit said as she waved the marker around, "I think she'll look better in red, don't you think?" She then turned to the paper and began to scribble all over the image of Laurel, replacing the blue of her shirt with the red in her pen. It was done in only a couple moments, and the Rabbit stepped aside to show off her handiwork. "Yeah, you're right," she replied to no one in particular. "This needs to be seen to be believed!"
With that, she flipped down the top sheets of paper, then flipped them back up. There now stood Laurel in all her dimensions! She smiled and looked down at her red shirt. "Nice!" she complimented the Rabbit. "Can I make a request?"
"I can't guarantee anything, but sure." the Rabbit crossed her arms over her bare chest.
"Do something sexy," Laurel asked.
"Oh?" The Rabbit grinned. "You're just going to leave me with that?"
"Why not?" Laurel shrugged. "I mean, we're supposed to have fun, right?"
"That we are!" The Rabbit agreed loudly. She pushed Laurel back against the easel, and flipped the papers down and up again to reveal her transformation into a picture. Without needing to be told, the assistant held out the cup of markers and the Rabbit exchanged the red for a different one. This time, she crouched down to waist height on Laurel and made only a few strokes.
And once again, the Rabbit revealed her latest volunteer to the appreciation of the crowd. "Hey!" Laurel said with fake concern, "What happened to my skirt?" She looked down to see that there was nothing between the lower hem of her shirt and her shoes. "I paid, like, five bucks for it!"
"Well, you wanted sexy," the Rabbit replied with a shared grin. Then she pushed Laurel back into the frame, and changed her back into a picture. "You get it!"
This time, she wiped away Laurel's shirt, revealing for the whole crowd the perfect image of her naked body. "Oh, but I'm not done yet!" she said as she took a couple more markers from her helper, and quickly scribbled something on Laurel's face. Another step back, and another flip of paper to reveal the restored woman.
If her nudity bothered her, she didn't show it, though the sudden appearance of the red ball-gag in her mouth may have. She looked around, and heard people cheering on her appearance before looking again at the Rabbit.
The Rabbit flipped returned her to her picturesque form, then paused to consider what to do next. She shrugged, not coming up with anything better, and with two simple wipes, removed Laurel's head from the picture. She then hid her under the paper and looked to the audience. "How about this?" she asked.
The helper could have sworn that the loudest cheers came from the table where she had gotten Lauren.
"So be it!" the Rabbit said as she flipped open the paper one last time. Laurel was restored, save for her pretty brown haired head. The body stood there, breathing calmly, but not doing anything else.
"Everyone, give it up for Laurel!" The Rabbit bowed, while the body stood there. "Now, my lovely assistant will return her to where she came from," she took the cup of markers from her, "and then select another volunteer - or volunteers while I prepare the next little performance!"
