"Hello again everyone! I'm The Assistant, as it says on my channel. So please stop leaving comments asking for my real name. You're not going to get it!" On the screen was a woman wearing a face concealing white mask, a black t-shirt that was tied off under her breasts, a red skirt and black shoes. "Anyways, I once again want to thank all my donors for their wonderful contributions! Impossible Illusions would be, well, impossible if it weren't for you all!"
The Assistant stood before a white backdrop, the cloth rolling out onto the floor. She knelt down and picked up an envelope that was flush against the cloth, invisible to the camera. Standing, she opened it up, and began to read the contents. "Dear Assistant," she spoke into the camera. "I have seen the Mismade performed many times, but the flaws are always the same. Would you be willing to do your own take on this classic performance, for all our sakes?"
"Well," The assistant said, "I think we can do that." Behind her, a man in a black mask and black clothes to hide any features appeared, pushing a tall prop with transparent sides. He stopped, and set the locks on the wheels, then vanished off camera. The Assistant approached the camera and picked it up, carrying it to the prop.
"In the classic Mismade," she said as she held the camera in front of her, "the assistant is divided into four, mixed and restored. However, for those who merely do the possible, and not the impossible, there are several cheats that they do." The camera was lowered to point at the bottom of the prop. She reached in front of the camera and swung up the plastic door. "The first is that the box is often bigger than it appears, including padding the bottom with a large base. You can see that this particular prop lacks that." She tapped the bottom panel, and lowered the camera so that it was obvious that it was only a quarter of an inch thick, and about half an inch off the ground. "Using this, the assistant can crouch down into the bottom segment, and hide from the dividing blades above her."
The Assistant pulled back. "But as you can see," she informed her audience as she circled the prop, "anyone who enters into this cannot hide at all." She finished her spiel as she returned to the front. "Now, this is my particular innovation - though I should admit I'm not the first to think of it." She reached out and flipped open the doors to the box, showing that there were five. "You see, a woman's body doesn't neatly go into four distinct pieces. Mine, I can tell you from practice, is better suited to five parts."
The camera was handed off, and now the Assistant was in full view. "Now, I shall enter the box, and let my helper finish me off," she said. She backed into the box carefully, making sure she was in properly. "Now, I don't have much room to move," she indicated that the top of the prop was only an inch or so above her head, and that her shoulders and hips filled the width available. "Also, the box isn't a perfect square," the helper swung the camera around to show how she had her back to the rear plastic cover. "This gives me no chance to escape or contort out of the way, even if I wanted to," she ended with a knowing smile."
"The next step," she said as the helper replaced the camera on its stand, is to close up the box. The helper did so, starting from the bottom and working his way up. "You can't see it from there," her voice echoed out of the transparent container, "but there are small gaps between each door. But just big enough for the metal dividers my helper has."
True to her word, the helper vanished off camera, then returned with a stack of metal rectangles, banging each one to show they were solid and not flexible. "In a normal performance," the Assistant said, "the blades are thinner than the box, to help keep the corners intact for stacking purposes, and to help fake out the audience as to how wide the box really is." The helper took one the blades, and walked up to the box, holding it against the prop to show that it was wider. "However, mine are just as deep, and a bit wider, so that my helper has a better handle on things."
The helper stopped what he was doing, and slowly turned his head to face the Assistant. The phrase 'really?' was clearly written in his body language, but he did not say a word. He softly shook his head, then indicated that she should continue.
"Thank you. Now, as I was saying, the blades are larger than the box. My helper will now work his way up, two blades per slot."
The helper leaned down, and carefully slid the first blade into the invisible gap. The Assistant perked up as it cut through her legs, but then relaxed. The helper returned to the camera and picked it up, as well as another blade. He zoomed in to show her shins ending in the metal barrier, then swung the camera down to show off her feet. Then, he put in the second blade under the first, giving the camera a good look as it passed against her legs.
"As you can see," the Assistant sad as he lifted up the camera to point at her, "I cannot elude the blades in any way. Now, my helper will finish dividing me."
The helper nodded, then went back for two more blades. This time, however, he set the camera down on its back, in front of and between the Assistant's legs. "Hey!" she complained as she looked down. "Are you trying to give the audience an up-skirt shot? This is a PG-13 show, you know!"
The camera, however, could only see darkness in that area thanks to the overhead lights.
With blades in hand, the Helper slid the first in, giving the audience a good look as the blade pushed through her thighs, just under her skirt. It took only a moment to cut off the non-existent view. Then the helper slid the second blade under the first again. This time, he moved the camera upward again, resting it against her skirt, and still looking up. The auto-focus went for her tied up shirt. "We're making sure it saw nothing in post," the Assistant warned the helper.
This time, the two blades pushed into her stomach, the soft skin showing off the cut as they bent inward from the pressure before parting before their sharpness. The Assistant raised up her arms to allow them to pass by unhindered, and the camera watched again as the helper slid in the second plate under the first.
"And how we're down to two," the Assistant said as the Helper passed her the camera. "You know, I don't see why we even have doors if you're going to open them each time." She pointed the camera down, showing off the top of her stomach, then at the Helper, who approached with the final two blades. This time, she lowered her arms and pointed the camera up again as the Helper pushed the first blade into the box and against her neck.
Then it was through, the Assistant gasping as her head was severed from her body, followed by the last blade.
The helper took the camera and started to pan down the Assistant. "As you can see," she said, "my body has been divided into five sections. Feet, legs, hips, chest and head. Now, for the next part, my helper will dismantle this stack!"
Setting down the camera on the stand, the helper went around behind the stack and carefully set his hands to either side of the Assistant's head. He slid the box to one side, the Assistant grinning as her head left her neck behind! Once it got far enough out that he could put his hand under the divider, he did so, picking her head up completely. "Tah-dah!" the decapitated woman proclaimed from behind her mask.
The helper set her head down on the floor, then returned to the stack to remove her arms and chest. This he did so with a bit more effort due to the weight involved. He carried it to the opposite side of the stack from her head, and carefully set it down. It partially blocked the view of her feet, but that was it.
Her hips were pulled off, and set atop her head and an angle, leaning toward the middle. Then her legs went atop her chest, also pointing to the middle, then finally he lifted up her feet, wheels and all, and set them down atop the two stacks, forming an arch. Head at the bottom left, then her hips, then feet, then downward to her legs and chest.
"At this point," the Assistant said, "another performer would reveal the woman's head where her thighs used to be, except she's actually crouched down and hidden behind fake parts. But as you can see, there's not really that option for me."
The helper then began to restack the Assistant. First her feet were placed on the ground so that the wheels didn't interfere with anything. Then he picked up her hips and stood in front of the stack as he worked for a moment before stepping away. The camera now showed the Assistant's middle upside down, her skirt carefully arranged to preserve her modesty!
"Nice trick," she said. "What next?" He responded by placing her head atop her her hips, then her legs above that. Finally, he lifted her chest and with feigned care, flipped it upside down as well!
"Hey!" she almost complained, but didn't as he set the reversed box atop the stack. "Well, I suppose he has to get his kicks somehow," she snarked as he stepped back. "Well, that's all for this show! "Bye for now!"
