Rich was content. The event had ended well, he had made certain that everyone was back to normal, and that everything was packed away. Magic was awesome like that.

Except for one thing.

The headless woman standing at the front entrance.

She had taken the offer he made before the the event started, as recompense for bothering him with paperwork when he should have been working. And no one had won her by guessing her name, which meant that she defaulted her loss to him instead.

But first, her head.  Pulling a black silk bag out from a pocket, he flipped it open then closed the opening. Giving it a single shake, he was prepared for the sudden extra weight in it.  Opening the bag, he saw Hannah's face looking up at him. "Over already?" she asked.

"Afraid so," Rich replied. He reached in and pulled her head out by her hair, allowing her to look around. "No one won."

"But I called my boyfriend!" Hannah complained. "I told him I was going to be here!"

"I didn't know that," Rich said, now understanding why she would take the bet. If she was expecting someone to come and claim her body ...  "For what it's worth, I'm sorry."

"Don't be," she huffed. "If he didn't show, well, he didn't show."

"I take it you want to go home then?"

"Why?"

"Um... because we're done?  And it's like, 1 AM?"

"Pft, no." Hannah objected. "I made a promise, and I'll keep it!"

"Uh, you made that promise with the intention that someone - like your boyfriend - would come and collect." Rich found his earlier ire returning in force.

"Well, this was his last chance," Hannah told him in no uncertain terms. "If he didn't come, then we're done."

"What if he was delayed, or something came up?"

"Don't care!"

"Well," Rich approached her body and held out her head to place it over her neck, restoring her completely, "can't say I should get involved with that sort of personal thing."

"Stop!" Hannah yelled out as Rich was about to complete the restoration. "I made a promise, and I'm not going back out on it! No one claimed me, so I get to be yours for the rest of tomorrow. Saturday. Today! Whenever!"

"Seriously?" Rich had to ask.

"Hey, you're the one who made the offer in the first place!"

"And you escalated!"

"And you agreed!"

The argument quickly heated up, with Rich holding Hannah's head. They went back and forth with accusations of a lack of fidelity, cowardice, mutual sexual insults, and all that sort of stuff.

Eventually they ran out of steam.  "So, what I'm just the rebound guy?" Rich asked, tired.

"Yeah, pretty much. He's been an ass for a while now, so it's tile to cut him loose."

"Lovely. So, why don't we compromise."

"I'm a captive audience."

"Oh! Shit!" Rich placed Hannah back on her body and stepped back as she regained herself, a momentary shiver running up and down her body.  She flexed, dropping the sign to the floor as useless. "Sorry."

"Well, what was your compromise?" Hannah examined her body for any untoward activity that may have occurred to it while she was otherwise disposed.

"I do one more thing to you, then we go back to my place. I guarantee nothing about what we do when we get there. For all you know, I'll offer you my bed while I sleep in a chair."

"And if I don't like your arrangements?"

"You promised to do as you were told, right?  Well, if you don't like what I have to offer, you'll have to suffer. Your risk to take, knowing that I have something here and now for you."

Hannah thought this over. "Fine. I agree." She looked around. "But there's nothing left to use."

"You think they'll stop me?" Rich stepped up to her and pulled off his jacket. He wrapped it around her hips, letting it dangle to the floor. "Abra Kadabera!"

"ooooh!" Hanna shivered again as something happened. "What did you do?"

Rich pulled away his coat, and Hanna looked down to see. "Hey!"

Her hips and everything down was now clear, frozen water transitioning to flesh smoothly and without problem just below her waist.  Gingerly, she reached down and ran her hands along her transformed legs, the smooth surface glistening under her touch. Shocked at the change, she slid one hand up between her legs to her crotch where she found the small crack of her womanhood just as frozen as everything else.

"Wow," she breathed out as she couldn't stop herself.  "What's so funny?" she demanded as she saw Rich's smirk.

"You're melting," he replied, pointing at the thin rivulet of water that was running down inside her thighs. "Warm fingers, right?"

"Shit!" Do something!"

"Alright," he said as this time he put his jacket around her shoulders, this time letting it drape down to her knees. "Abra..." Under the jacket, he could see her move one of her arms. "Kadabera!"

He flicked away the jacket, this time leaving her head un-frozen. The results of her motion were obvious - one hand was now frozen to her inner thighs, while the other was grasping a breast.

"I can't feel anything," she said, unable to tilt her head forward enough to see her current position.

"Perfect!" Rich announced as he flicked his jacket over her head.  "Abra!"

"Wait!"

"Kadabera!"  There was silence as he pulled his jacket away. Hannah's head was frozen as solid as the rest of her, blank eyes as open as her mouth as she tried to form words that would never come.

"Finally," he muttered to himself.  Once more, he flicked out his jacket, but this time he expanded it as he did so, laying on the ground behind Hannah, covering a space many meters wide and tall.  Stepping in front of her, he looked down past her to judge the distance, and shrugged. What he had to work with is what he had.

Putting a finger on her forehead, he pushed her backwards.

For a long moment, Hannah simply fell, like one of those slow motion shots in the movies.

Then she hit the floor, and exploded, shattering into countless pieces, shards of frozen woman scattering about - yet not so far as to escape his huge jacket.  There was little left that could identify the whole thing as a woman only moments before, and Rich looked upon his handiwork with a thin smile.  Slowly gathering up the jacket, he was careful not to spill any of the shattered Hannah onto the floor, shrinking down his outerwear as he did so.

"Well," he said to no one in particular as he carefully poured the ice fragments from the jacket into the silk bag he retrieved - volume and mass carefully ignored as the bag ended up full. "A night in the freezer should not discomfort you, you frozen-hearted bitch. I have a boyfriend, thank you, and I don't need you to try and force me into things."

Already planning the formal complaint against Hannah for her aggressiveness, Rich locked up behind him, and headed home.
