Sheila Shifts 03
Fitting
Sheila put on the elegant purple dress. It hung loosely on her frame, a couple of sizes too big. And too long; this was designed for someone taller than her. That was why she had bought it. For Sheila, the pleasure didn’t lie in finding clothes that fit perfectly. It was to see how well she could shape herself to get the best out of the clothes.
The length was the first thing that she tackled. In front of the mirror that saw most of her shapeshifting escapades she looked at the image of herself dwarfed beneath the folds of delicate silk and imagined it changing. She backed up the thought with a gentle effort: a deeper breath and a relaxed stretching of her back that appeared ordinary enough to begin with, but soon became extraordinary as she visibly grew within the dress. Sheila let out a satisfied murmur as her body reached a height that teased out the delicate folds of the dress. She stopped growing and shifted her weight so that her leg parted the slit in the side of the fabric. A moment ago it’d been lost underneath. Sheila admired its new length and with a brief tensing of her thigh made it a little longer still.
If she was copying the form of a specific person Sheila tended to alter every part of her body evenly all at once. Part of the fun of this exercise was focussing on each aspect of what was essentially an alternative version of herself. Tall, thin Sheila might have been a basketball player or athlete. But the dress she was wearing was intended for someone with a fuller figure. Planting her feet firmly on the floor, Sheila set about finding out who that might be.
The loose material around her bottom tightened as its contents grew larger. Sheila swayed her hips, encouraging them to expand. The limp, ruffled V that hung off her chest tautened as her breasts slowly, gently expanded and tested their new limits. Shape and definition smoothly added to her arms and legs as she flexed her muscles in a way no other person could. As the changes slowed and Sheila’s new body filled the once baggy dress as perfectly as was possible, her skin changed hue in a blink, darkening slightly to compliment the rich berry hue she was wearing. To finish, she ran her hands through her hair, adding volume to it with a shrug as she plumped her lips and face the better to match the rest of her.
She laughed and was tempted for a second to grow still further and burst out. But she was calmed by how marvellous she looked – it would be a shame to spoil it on an impulse.
Sheila was a perfect fit.
