Sheila Shifts 01

Classic Werewolf

My friend Sheila is a shapeshifter. She likes to transform into other shapes and I like to watch her. It's a bit of a kink, I suppose. But we're both having a good time and I guess that's what counts.

We don't know what the limits of her powers are. Or are that sure how she got them. But every once in a while we find a quiet spot and Sheila changes into something else entirely...

Tonight, although it seems a bit obvious, Sheila was going to transform into a wolf.

'I've only spoken to a few other shapeshifters,' she told me. 'But one thing they all have in common is that they've done the 'classic werewolf' at some point. To transform, you form in your mind a distinct image of what you want to become. You then 'push' your body into that shape, partly through willpower, partly through physical effort. Lycanthropy is such a well-established form of transformation that it's ideal for getting started.'

She took off her clothes and stood naked in front of the wardrobe mirror, the better to see herself after she had changed.

'Here I go,' she said.

Sheila closed her eyes. She interlaced her fingers and stretched out her arms like a pianist warming up for a performance. Immediately, grey fur raced from her hands to her shoulders. She took a step forward, crouching slightly and tensing her body. More fur grew impossibly quick across her body, uneven patches soon pooling together, covering her entire body and face in a thick coat of grey.

Her shape didn't change at all until the fur growth had finished. At first her face, the familiar wolf snout forming as her skull stretched. Simple teeth grew into savage fangs. Her short human hair had retracted as the fur had advanced, revealing her ears. They moved and reshaped, taking up their lupine positions. The changes occurred gradually, evenly, but every so often Sheila would let out a grunt of effort that heralded a sudden burst of alterations. As she strained, her ribs and backbone flexed into new configurations causing her to fall to all fours. Arms and legs twitched reflexively as the bones and joints changed shape and direction. As claws emerged from paws that were no longer hands and feet, there was nothing of the human Sheila left. She was all animal now. There was only one thing remaining.

She arched her back and dug her claws into the floor. As her head bobbed up and down a magnificent tail sprouted from her rump. She howled with this last effort of change, contentedly wagging it when it was done. The transformation was over.

Sheila was a wolf.
