“Whatcha looking at?”
“This website for an app called ‘Self-Destruction’.”
“…huh?”
“Well, come look at these demo videos…”
---
Detachable – Two women each click a button on their phones, presumably activating the app. Putting their phones down, one grabs ahold of the other’s arm and pops it off her shoulder. The woman takes her arm back, and demonstrates that it will not reattach. She waves her detached arm at the camera, and begins plucking her fingers off. Meanwhile, the first woman takes her own head off her neck, and begins peeling her facial features off her head, one by one. The video continues with a timelapse of them pulling themselves and each other to pieces until they’re reduced to a pile of disassembled body parts lying on the floor.
---
Melting – A woman activates the app and puts down her phone. She appears to begin sweating profusely. It is soon apparent that her body is actually melting. The video continues with a timelapse of the woman’s body sinking as she melts into a large pink puddle.
---
Unravel – The woman tugs on her finger after putting her phone down. The camera zooms in on her finger, showing that it is coming apart into what looks like thread. The camera pans out as she continues to pull on her unraveled finger, and the thread continues to unspool her hand. A second woman enters the frame and begins unravelling the first woman from her ear as well. Between the two of them, her arm and head are quickly pulled apart into string. Eventually, the woman is left as a pile of loose thread on the floor.
---
House of Cards – The woman peels a layer of skin off her belly in the shape of a playing card. She shows it to the camera, it appears to be a standard playing card, the Nine of Spades. She peels another card off her body, this time the King of Diamonds. She rakes her hand over her stomach, and cards come cascading off her body, leaving gaps behind. She jumps up into the air, and her body falls apart into a myriad of playing cards, fluttering down onto the floor. The video continues with a fast timelapse of a few other women gathering up and sorting the cards, and demonstrating that the first woman has been turned into 15 complete decks of playing cards. The video fades out as the women begin playing card games.
---
Eraser – The woman runs a finger over her left eye, which seemingly vanishes as her finger passes over it. She runs her hands over her body, and wherever her hands pass, her body is erased, leaving featureless grooves. A second woman enters the frame, and demonstrates that she can also erase the first woman. Working together, they slowly erase the first woman into nothingness.
---
Lego – The woman removes her head from her body. The camera zooms in on her head. She picks off a small rectangular piece of her neck, showing to the camera that it resembles a piece of Lego. She splits her head in half, demonstrating that it is now made of Legos. Her facial features each appear to be single large pieces. Her eye winks at the camera as she pries it from the pile of Legos, demonstrating that she can still see from it. She drops the pieces of her head onto a table, and begins putting them together. Meanwhile, two other women join in, pulling apart her Lego body, as she builds a spaceship out of her head. The video continues with a timelapse of the women building various structures out of the Lego pieces.
---
Pop – The woman begins inhaling. Her body rapidly expands with each intake of air, as if she were a balloon. Once she has grown to about twice her size, her body suddenly pops, as if though she were hollow. Bits of her skin flutter to the ground. The camera zooms in on a shred of her face, and her eye winks at the camera.
---
Squeeze – The woman puts down her phone as a second woman enters the frame. The second woman grabs ahold of the first’s arm, and pushes it towards her. The arm appears to slowly sink into her shoulder as it is pushed, until her fingers disappear into her shoulder entirely. The first woman uses her remaining arm to push her head down, while the second woman works on one of her legs. Eventually, the two of them compress the first woman’s extremities down until she is just a limbless torso. The second woman continues to squeeze the first together, and her torso continues to compact in on itself. The video continues with a timelapse of the woman in various stages of compression, first down to a rough ball shape, then a small ball no bigger than a ping pong ball, then, seemingly, nothing.
---
Clay – The woman squeezes her belly and lets go of it. Her stomach appears to be stuck in the shape it was squeezed into. She pulls on her left arm, and it stretches out nearly two feet before it becomes too thin and snaps into two. A second woman enters the frame and takes the disembodied arm from her, squishing it as if though it were made of clay, and rolls it up into a ball of flesh. Meanwhile, the first woman sits down and brings her legs up to her chest, where she mashes them into her body. When the second woman is done, she squishes the lump of flesh she was working on into the first woman’s body, and begins kneading her into an unrecognizable pile of dough.
---
Jenga – The woman pokes her belly, and pulls a long rectangular stick out of her front, leaving a matching hole in her body. She tosses it to the floor, as another woman enters the frame. She begins pulling out pieces of the first woman. All the pieces seem to be long rectangular sticks, stacked up perpendicular to each layer. Eventually, the first woman’s torso is left precariously balanced on a small number of remaining pieces. The second woman pulls out another piece, and her torso topples over, falling apart into a shower of pieces. Her legs are left standing in a pile of her torso. The second woman pushes the legs over, and they fall apart as they topple.
---
Crumble – The camera zooms in on the woman’s arms. She grabs ahold of her forearm and twists sharply. Her forearm snaps in two with ease. The break appears uneven, as if though she were a broken statue. She drops her forearm to the ground, where it shatters to pieces and flesh-colored dust. She begins rubbing the break on her arm, and what remains of her arm begins crumbling to dust. A second woman enters the frame, wielding a comically large hammer. The first woman stands still as the second woman swings the hammer into her chest. On impact, her chest shatters, flying off her waist in a cloud of dust. As pieces of her hit the floor, they crumble apart. With a few more swings of the hammer, the first woman’s legs are reduced to dust as well.
---
Edible – The woman brings her hand up to her mouth, and bites off her finger. She chews, swallows, and licks her lips, demonstrating that her finger was tasty. She continues to eat the rest of her hand. Meanwhile, a second woman enters the frame to join in. She grabs ahold of her other arm and bites through her elbow, detaching her forearm. The video continues with a timelapse of the women eating the first one down to nothing, closing with the second woman dropping the first’s lips into her waiting mouth.
---
Potable – The woman brings her hand up to her mouth, and sucks on her finger. As she does so, her finger seems to melt away into nothingness. As she continues to suck up her other fingers, the camera zooms in, and her fingers appear to be liquefying as she sucks on them. She gulps them down, and licks her lips, demonstrating that they tasted good. A second woman enters the frame, and begins drinking from the first woman from her other arm. The video continues with a timelapse of the women working together to drink up the first one’s body entirely, closing with the second woman drinking her head through her lips.
---
Puzzle – The woman holds her hand up to the camera, demonstrating odd lines running across her hand. A second woman enters the frame, and smacks her hand. It falls apart along the lines. The pieces that fall to the floor resemble jigsaw puzzle pieces. The second woman rakes her hands through the first, disassembling her into a mess of puzzle pieces. She kneels down, picks up a handful of pieces, and begins trying to put her back together.
---
Wax – The woman stands in the center of the screen as a second woman approaches with a hairdryer, cord plugged in somewhere off-screen. The hairdryer is flipped on, and the first woman extends her arm out for it. As the hairdryer heats her arm, it begins to melt. The demonstration continues, as the hairdryer continues to melt only the parts of the first woman it affects. The hairdryer is exchanged for a candle, which proves no less capable of melting the woman. The woman is eventually reduced to a puddle.
---
Evaporation – The camera pans over a pink puddle. Clearly, this is the puddle of someone who has already been melted, as there is a phone lying beside her. The phone beeps, and the puddle stirs. It bubbles, and a visible pink vapor begins to emanate from it. The puddle shrinks as it evaporates.
---
Paint – The woman stands in a ring of easels, each with a blank canvas. After she puts down her phone, several women enter the frame, each sitting down at an easel and picking up a paintbrush. They turn around and begin dipping their brushes into the woman standing in the center, before turning back and beginning to paint onto their canvases. The video continues with a timelapse, with the painters dipping their brushes into the woman whenever they need more paint. The woman slowly shrinks away as more and more of her is painted onto the canvases.

“Whoah…”
“There’s a ton more demo videos like that too.”
“Does it say anything about them being put back together?”
“Yes, there’s an automatic reassembly feature. The paid version of the app lets you put a timer on it, or disable it.”
“Wait, why would you disable…”
“There’s still a reassembly button.”
“Oh, good. Wanna try-”
“Already paid for it.”
