So as it turns out, being a living pile of Play-Doh wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. I had spent an entire day with a body made of Play-Doh. Well, not literally Play-Doh, my flesh had just become as malleable as Play-Doh… And I was still no better at managing it than I was before. I kept accidentally melding with myself, and having to have Elandris, restore me to my regular form.
For starters, I had quickly discovered that hopping was an incredibly inefficient way of moving around when my legs had accidentally fused together. Every hop fused my feet together a little bit more, and splattered them around a little. Not to mention the risk of falling off balance and possibly falling and making a mess of myself. It hadn’t taken me long to reduce my legs to a useless pile of flesh, which I quickly abandoned by tearing my torso off of it.
Moving around as just my upper half was much easier. Because I was lighter, I wouldn’t splatter myself everywhere if I tripped. Which happened quite a few times, since I wasn’t used to using my hands to swing myself around. I may not have splattered, but my body had become much flatter in places.
Then there was the incident after I had Elandris make me tea. Apparently heat made my body even softer, and I had accidentally melted my own mouth shut. Good tea, though. Totally worth it.
Playing with knives was fun too. Since I couldn’t be harmed (at least, by knives) in this form, I grabbed the largest steak knife that I owned and simply had fun slicing myself to ribbons. Yes, literally. I even managed to slice my face off as one thin layer, though I rather embarrassingly accidentally dropped it onto my belly, where it fused face down. Trying to cut it free didn’t really work, either, and I quickly lost my face.
The ice cream scoop was fun to use too. Scooping little balls out of myself was oddly satisfying, even if it did leave my body full of holes. Fortunately, fixing the holes was easy enough, I just had to knead myself into a lump, and I could scoop more balls out. It wasn’t until I was nearly out of material to work with that I realized I had spent nearly an hour turning myself into a pile of little Eleanor balls, and all that was left of me was my arms and head, connected by what remained of my shoulders. Then Elandris and I had a snowball fight. With me-balls instead of snowballs. To make things fair, she erased as much of her own body as I had turned into balls. Needless to say, I still lost, and my body ended up splattered literally all over the apartment.
Which leads us to now. Elandris had taken her time scraping me off the walls and furniture, and was slowly kneading me back into a singular lump of myself. “That was fun.” I giggled (my mouth had survived the onslaught).
“Yes, it rather was.” Elandris giggled too. “You certainly have been one of my more interesting mistresses.”
“Interesting?” I let out an involuntary moan as Elandris worked her fingers through my flesh.
“Well, few of my owners held such interest in my magic. Many were simply horrified at my ability to change their bodies so dramatically.” Elandris mused. “But you want to be transformed at nearly every moment, despite calling it… what was it? ‘Body horror’? It’s quite the distinction.”
“Ah.” I was rather lost for words, “Is that weird?”
“Not at all, mistress. Interest in my magic is always appreciated. I like to think I’m quite adept at it.”
“Alright, then.”
Some moments passed. “So do you like using your magic on me, then?” I asked.
“Hmm.” Elandris paused for a moment. “I do. It’s like showing off a talent. Like how you felt when you were showing me your video games.”
Elandris paused again, and chuckled.
“Is something funny?”
“I was just thinking about how similar video games are to magic.” Elandris answered.
“Huh? How are they similar at all?” I was confused.
“Well, they’re different, clearly, but, they’re sort of based on the same principle.” She explained, “Both of them work on creating different realities.”
“Different realities?”
“Yes. So, the way magic works, we genies simply replace a portion of your reality with one we fabricated based off your original reality.” Elandris continued. She had stopped kneading me, apparently. “So, it’s like games. They create a new world, or a new reality for you to experience. Magic simply affects your reality more… physically.”
“I… see. I think? So… is this like alternate dimension stuff?” I asked.
“Oh, no. That has nothing to do with it. The realities we create are temporary, and only exist in a very local sense. For example, to turn you into Play-Doh, all I did was replace the reality of your body for this time frame. I ‘rejected’ your original reality, and substituted my own. Temporarily.”
I paused for a second. “Uhh. Have you ever heard of ‘Mythbusters’?” I asked, curiously.
“What?”
I didn’t think so. “You just accidentally quoted a guy from a T.V. show. Well, he was also quoting something else, but… oh, nevermind.” I shut my mouth.
“I… see, I think.” Elandris mused.
“Um…” I made a half-hearted attempt at recovery. “So, if it’s similar to video games, could you do things like make video games real? Or put me into a video game?”
“I don’t think so.” She frowned. “Different realities won’t mesh well together, especially when I’m not familiar with a reality I didn’t create. And I’m also too unfamiliar with how technology operates in the first place.”
“Aww.” I said, disappointed. Playing a real life game would be cool. “So you say your magic is temporary? How does that work with the concept of wishes?”
“We make more permanent realities for wishes. That’s why you can only do a real wish once per year. It requires a lot of magical energy, and I have to borrow some from you, which is why you fainted when you made your first wish.”
“Ahh. So… all this other stuff, this magic you’re showing me now. How does that factor in with the wishing?” I asked, “I seem to be getting a lot more magic out of my wish than someone else would.”
“Well, ordinarily I wouldn’t be allowed to perform so much magic for my master outside of their yearly wish. But, this sort of ties in with your wish, so, it’s fine. I can use my magic more or less freely to ‘take care of you’. Which generally just means your comfort.” Elandris explained.
“Oh. That’s good.” I said, “I wouldn’t want you to get in trouble with… your… genie… king?” I trailed off.
“We don’t have a king.” Elandris laughed, “We don’t really have any sort of ruling body. We don’t even talk much amongst each other. We just have guidelines, of sorts, since all our magic comes from the same source.”
“Oh. So… who do you talk to then?”
“My masters and mistresses. When they want to, at least.” Elandris said, her voice dropping rather low. I shuddered, as her hands dug back into my flesh and resumed kneading me. “Being a genie is rather lonely, sometimes.”
Elandris continued kneading me in silence. She suddenly seemed to brighten up. “Which is why it’s so great to have a mistress like you, who lets me keep her company!”
“Awww!” I let out a squeal of affection. “That’s so sweet, Elandris.” I paused to find some words. “I kinda want to hug you, but I can’t, really.” I giggled. I squirmed a little, the only movement I could really muster.
“Oh. How about this, then?” Elandris said, as she quickly spread me out into a large flat shape. She picked me up by the corners, and to my surprise, wrapped me around herself.
“I guess that’s like a hug.” I laughed, trying to squeeze her a little inside my flat body.
“Good.” Elandris giggled.
“Am I comfortable?” I asked.
“Very. You’re very comforting. I’m not used to getting comforts, especially in a corporeal body.” Elandris sighed lightly.
“Awww.” I squealed again. “That’s so sad. You should let me comfort you too, from time to time.”
“But… that’s my job, mistress.” Elandris protested, rather weakly.
“That’s okay. You deserve it, all things considered.” I insisted.
“But…”
“Elandris, I want this. It will make me comfortable too.” I said, firmly. “I don’t feel good about having you be uncomfortable.”
“Oh.” Elandris simply muttered. “But, I can’t use my mistress as a blanket.”
“Why not? Is that in the genie rules too?” I giggled, “You have my permission. Besides, this is rather cozy for me too. I kinda like being a blanket.”
“If… mistress says so.” Elandris replied, softly.
I wish I could see. I wonder if she’s blushing. She sounds really shy about all this. I felt her shift awkwardly under me.
“Would you like to play some video games, Elandris?” I asked.
“Should I restore you so that you can-“
“No, I asked YOU. You know how to play by now, right?” I giggled. “Just sit on the couch and wrap yourself in me and play.”
“Oh.” Elandris sounded surprised. “I… that sounds like fun, mistress. Are you sure you are okay with it?”
“Of course!” I insisted, “But… can you reform my eyes? I’d like to watch, too.”
“Of course, mistress.” Elandris said, even as my vision returned to me.
I blinked. My eyes were affixed to the ‘top’ of my body, where I was wrapped around Elandris’ chest. I watched as Elandris picked up my mouth from where it lay, and gently applied it onto my body, below my eyes. I giggled as she did so. “I have most of my face back.”
“Would you like your nose, too, mistress?” Elandris asked again.
I noticed she had gotten really formal again. She probably didn’t know how to properly react to this. Poor thing. “I’m okay without it for now. You know how to turn on the consoles, right?”
“I’ve seen you do it enough times, yes.” Elandris replied, as she picked up a controller. “Thank you, mistress. You’re the best mistress I’ve ever had.”
“Awww!” I squealed again, “Don’t worry about it. Especially after all you’ve done for me.” I wriggled a little as she settled down on the couch, and I settled down on top of her. It did feel nice, too, surprisingly. I could feel her warmth within me.
“It’s my job.” Elandris simply said.
“True, but I’ve never really thanked you for it. So, consider this a thank you. And from now on, I really want us to treat each other like equals.”
“E-equals?” Elandris stammered.
“Yes. Your comfort and feelings are no less important than mine, got that?” I said, firmly.
“But…”
“No buts. You’re not just my genie or a servant. You’re a friend.” I smiled.
“Mistress, I… I cannot thank you enough…” Elandris continued stammering. I could swear she sounded ready to cry. I didn’t really want that to happen. Things were kind of awkward enough right now as it is.
“You’ve done plenty for me already, and I imagine you’re going to keep doing things for me, so… don’t mention it. That’s thanks enough, too.” I reassured her. “Come on, the game’s on.”
“Oh, right.” Elandris seemed to straighten up a little, as she held the controller in her hand tighter. “Can I… can I make a new game file? I want to start the game from the beginning.”
“Go for it.”
