The story of Roman and Corrie continues...

I stood beside the striking black stallion, both of us chewing thoughtfully at the sweet grass.  The day was bright, and I was greatly enjoying my time as a horse, but I could see in Roman’s beautiful eyes that, despite his obvious happiness, there was also something troubling him.  “What’s wrong, Roman?  You said you always wanted to be with me, and here we are.  Hopefully we’ll give birth to a colt, and—”

Roman stopped chewing and looked into my face.  “That’s just it, Corrie.  I love you so much, and this is what I’ve always wanted—to share and to be with you.  But you have a life ahead of you, you have college…I can’t just take that away from you.  I’m not even your husband.”

“But…but…” I stuttered, which came out sounding quite ludicrous when uttered by a horse.  “I want to be with you forever.  I want to be your wife!”

“And I want you to be too.  But you’ll miss out on everything.”

“What’s better than what we have here?  I can be anything!  Who needs school or jobs?” I cried angrily.

“I want you to go to college. You’re going locally—it’s not like we won’t be able to see each other.  Hell, if you want, when I’m not busy, I’ll turn into a necklace or a shirt and you can wear me to school.”

“I want to turn into more stuff too.”

“Well, if you get pregnant as a horse, I don’t know what changing you will do to the colt, so if you have any plans for the next eleven months, you better put them aside.”

I was silent.  He was right.  I had been fabricating an ever-expanding list in my head of various forms I wanted to experience.  But I would have plenty of time after…

“Meanwhile, your parents think you’re with friends, but you can’t use that excuse forever.”  He stopped, craning his neck into the sky.  His mane blew lazily in the wind, and I got that…feeling again…His scent was so intoxicating…

“Let’s run off and get married,” he suddenly said, and with this, he resumed human form.

“Roman!” I gasped.  “But what if I’m already—”

“You’re not.  It’s only a few days.  I’m turning you back.”

And there I was, back in my flimsy human body.  I had just gotten used to being such a large, muscular, grand animal.  Now I felt wiry and weak, and the ground seemed closer.

Roman grabbed my hand, his eyes twinkling.  “We’ll get married.  Right now.  Then you’ll truly be mine, and your parents can’t stop us.  We’ll have a honeymoon, which, I assume, we won’t be human for most of—”

“But I still want to be horses.”

Roman sighed.  “But what about college?”

            “I’ll take a year off.”

“Can you at least do the first semester, then take the year off to be horses?  Just to get into the swing of school first?”

I cocked my head, asking quizzically, “Can you turn me into a swing?  That would be fun.”

Emitting an exasperated snicker, Roman asked, “Do we have a deal?”

“You didn’t give me a ring,” I smiled devilishly.

Suddenly Roman shrank to the floor with a clink.  In his place, wobbling around in a circle, was a pretty gold ring with a very large diamond on it.  Roman’s voice emanated forth, “Here’s your ring.  Whenever you want me to be it, I’m yours.”

I picked him up, purposely rolling him around in my hand.  I could see that the diamond still retained his features.  “Wow!  You must be worth a lot.  But I can’t always wear you.” I slipped him onto my finger, quite enjoying the fact that I was able to hold him in the palm of my hand.

“I feel like I belong here,” the little Roman-face commented.  “Listen, I’ll create a beautiful ring for you to wear all the time, Corrie.  But I’d like you to wear me as one a few minutes before I do.  Now, do we have a deal about college and all?”

            I rubbed him lovingly.  “Deal.”

                                                            ***

Roman had a car, but, to get into town, he offered several other more creative solutions.  “Make me something to get us there,” I had suggested, admiring the beautiful engagement ring I now wore.  In a previous life it had been a pebble.

We settled on a bicycle, and my transformation began.

What was most interesting about this change was which parts of me became what.  My hands joined together, growing larger to form my front wheel, while my legs melded and my feet formed the back wheel.  My torso grew thin, a padded seat growing from my back, and I could feel my head thinning and elongating into handlebars.  Pedals popped out from below me, and I hardened into metal and rubber.

“Wow!” I uttered as my body smoothed into its new, drivable shape.  “This is a weird one!”

“Shiny and new!” Roman cried victoriously, as he threw his leg over me and sat down on my seat.  The pressure felt wonderful, and as he urged me into motion, the wind rushed against my sensitive new surface, sending me into heightened bliss.

“So nice…” I breathed as we sped out of the woods to the road.

“I told you.  When you’re a newly transformed object, even the slightest breeze can be quite stimulating.”

We were on the pavement now, going faster and faster as Roman took us into town.  But between the wind and how I felt, I could not say much else to him.

                                                            ***

Roman brought me behind the building where the Justice of the Peace was.  He restored my human form, drawing me into his arms even as I changed.  The wedding ceremony was quick and painless, and we were man and wife within the hour.  Gazing down at the marriage certificate in my hand, I read “Roman Smyth, Jr.” listed as my husband.  “You’re a junior?” I asked.  “How do all your records work when you look so young?”

“That’s how.  I say I’m my own son.  I changed some documents around, and voila.”

“But if someone checks into you—”

“Who’s going to check into me?”

            I shrugged.  “The shape-shifting patrol?”

Both of us laughed.  “Now where shall we go for our honeymoon, my dear wife?” Roman’s hand was in mine, and we stood outside the courthouse, surveying the world as newlyweds.

“Who cares?  As long as you make me all kinds of stuff—”

“That fancy hotel on the outskirts of town should do fine.  We’ll be gulls and we’ll fly there.”

As my body reduced to the somewhat-familiar avian form, I suddenly realized, “I need to tell my parents.  Now.  I want it out of the way.”

Roman nodded his now-feathery white head.  “Let’s go.”

                                                            ***

We landed in the woods behind my house and resumed human form.  When we rang the bell, my stepfather answered.  He glanced at Roman behind me.  “What the hell are you doing here?” he demanded.

My mother came up behind him, and her face whitened as she saw my hand in Roman’s.  “What…”

            “Mom, Dad, you’ve met Roman.”

            Both parents nodded.

            “We’re married.”

“Oh, holy shit,” my stepfather muttered, and simply walked away.  But my mother remained, blanched and wordless.

            “We’ll visit,” I added weakly.

My mother suddenly lost all control.  “Visit?!” she yelled.  “How dare you do this to my daughter, Roman?  You’re old enough to be her grandfather!  Did you know that, Corrie?  Don’t let that young face fool you!  Somehow he manages to stay remarkably preserved!  He’s about as old as your father was!  Robbing the cradle, you bastard!  You’ve always had your lecherous eyes on my daughter!”

I was surprised at my mother’s sudden outpouring.  I had gotten the feeling over the years that she did not care for me much.  I was too much like my father, a dreamer…

Roman placed his arm around me protectively.  “I’m sorry you feel that way, but she’s eighteen.  She can make her own decisions.  And she has.”

“I guess you’ll go live with him in his awful hovel?  And what about college?”

“I’ll still go to college!” I cried, thinking of my promise to Roman.

“God, how will you support her?  I don’t even know how you support yourself!” my mother cried.

            “Mom, please, I—”

But my mother set her jaw.  “Please, nothing.  This is what you think will make you happy?  Well, go and try him out.  I don’t want to see you until you’re finished with him, Corrie.  I’m done with you now.”  My mother walked into another room and slammed the door behind her.

Roman and I gaped at each other.

“I want to turn your stepfather into a wall,” he said, quite seriously.

I stared at him, stricken by what had just transpired.  It was not as if I had not expected my mother’s reaction, but it still hurt terribly.

“A weight-bearing wall,” Roman added, and despite myself, I began to giggle.

                                                                        ***

The hotel room was beautiful, but neither of us cared much.  We each had grand plans for the night.  However, after mating first as snakes, next as peacocks, and finally as rabbits, we were quite knocked out.  “We’ll have to continue this tomorrow,” Roman said breathlessly beside me on the bed.  Hungrily, he stared at my naked, now-human body.  “Will you wear me to sleep?  Like as a nightgown?  I’ll become the softest, silkiest satin for you.”

This sounded quite tempting.  The idea of Roman, thinned and smooth, hugging my skin, was greatly alluring.  At the same time, I wanted this experience for myself as well.  “How about you wear me tonight?  I bet I’d make a comfy pair of pajamas,” I winked.

He studied me further.  “I’m sure you would…You know, maybe, on our first night as a married couple, we’ll stay human and do all the things normal humans do on honeymoons.”

Having had relations as several animals by now, I could not say that my first time as a human was much better.  To be honest, it was more fun in a form that was not my own.  As I lay panting beside my new husband, I now wished to be used by him in more ways than just sexual ones.  “Roman, use me.  Make me into something soft.”

I was shrinking yet somehow just slightly expanding.  Then all of me contracted into a puffy rectangle, and I was growing strangely soft and light.  “What am I…”

“Ssh, enjoy.”  He was kneading my changing figure, smoothing me into whatever I was to become.  The finishing ecstatic burst left me giggling, a fluffy, overstuffed pillow.

Roman tossed the hotel pillow to the floor and put me in its place.  “Oh, you’ll do nicely,” he grinned, poking his fingers into me.

“Oh, God!”  I gasped, shocked how his fingers stirred my soft insides.  The giggles returned.  “I’m a pillow!” I cried.  “Poke me more!” I begged, and he obeyed.  He jabbed and prodded me, pushing my stuffing back and forth, jolting me into an altogether different experience than I had had as any other object.

“Feels nice, huh?” he smiled, putting his arms around me and squeezing hard.  I wanted to hold my breath, but I did not have any lungs like this… “You make the best objects, my dear wife,” he kissed deep into my middle.  It kind of felt like being poked in the stomach.

“Imagine if someone saw you right now, making love to a pillow…” I tittered.

“Mmm, such a shapely pillow…” He rubbed me down his bare torso, and I went back and forth between wishing I could move and loving that I could not.

“They’d probably think I have a pillow fetish or something,” Roman continued, and we both began to laugh.  He picked me up, fluffing me into something resembling a shape.

“Please sleep on me tonight, Roman.  I beg you.  I want to stay this way for a bit.  Put your head on me.”

The constant pressure of Roman’s head left me in another one of those states of constant bliss similar to being plugged in as a lamp.

And my wedding night was spent probably as no one else had ever spent one.

                                                            ***

“Oh, Roman, I wish I could stay this way forever,” I moaned as he stirred against me the next morning.

He cuddled me against his head.  “I have never slept better in my life.”  He yawned.  “However, I thought you wanted to be in horse form forever.”

            “Well, maybe not forever.”

He rose, and I felt almost cheated as his calming warmth left my surface.  However, springing back into shape was kind of nice.

“My dear, there are an infinite number of forms out there that await you.  Many even more stimulating than your delightful pillow-form of the present.  Come on, let’s eat breakfast.”

            I groaned.

“Come on.  I’ll turn you into a plant later if you come with me.”

A plant?  How cool would that be?  “Done,” I agreed, and I was swiftly twisted into humanity once more.

                                                            ***

The human hours went by quickly, and the next thing I knew, we were back in the hotel room, Roman before me as a large planter full of potting soil.  “I’m really nice soil- full of nutrients that you’ll enjoy.”

I laughed nervously.  This change sounded like it might be even odder than changing into a bicycle.  Or a pillow.  Or…

“Pour some water into me before I change you.  You’ll like me nice and moist.”
The words made me blush, although I knew he did not mean them to have any sexual context.  I went to the sink with a large empty vase, filled it, and poured it into Roman.  “Remember when we were both one vase?  That was so nice.”  Awestruck, I watched him soak up my offering.

“Then we must do it again.  Maybe as something else this time.  A nice figurine, or a piece of furniture… What’s wrong?”

Obviously he had noticed my gaze.  “What does that feel like?  You’re two different things, and you’re soil, and there’s water flowing into you…”

The pot chuckled.  “It feels quite nice, Corrie.  Now step into me so we can change you too.  If you want, we can reverse the roles at some point.  Me the plant, you the pot of dirt.”

“Yes, yes,” I said, climbing into his soil.  It was funny how cautious I was trying to be—I assumed he could not be hurt too badly in his present state, but at the same time, I did not want to break him.

“Stand right in the middle of me.  Good.  Ready?”

“Ready to grow!” I announced, and my feet suddenly plunged into the soil that was my husband.  They were stretching, diminishing, and branching out while my body shrank and thinned.  “I’m turning green!” I gasped, as my skin took on a greenish cast, then grew verdant.  My arms raised on their own, becoming paralyzed as they flattened into leaves.  My legs melted together, joining the rest of my body to become my stalk, and my head transmuted into a blossom.

This feels amazing!  Wow, I…I’m drinking the water from you…Mmm, I feel it running through me! Into my leaves, up my stalk…

“Being a plant is such a great experience.  Actually, starting as a seed or bulb and growing up through the soil is even more fun, but we need more time for that.”

            Why can’t I talk?

“Well, I guess I could let you, but I usually don’t create talking plants.”

Why?  You do talking animals.  You’re a talking object and…substance right now.

“I know, but plants…”  Here, it’s more fun to converse telepathically anyway.  That will give you a more realistic plant experience.  Not that they think either, but…well, you understand.

And it’s so nice… The sun on me…I feel myself making energy from it…I’m photosynthesizing!  Who would have thought that I, Corrie, would experience photosynthesis?

Roman laughed, making us both wobble back and forth.  We can stay this way as long as you’d like.  You’re in a pocket of sun.  Drink it up!  Drink the water from me!  Absorb my nutrients!

And I could.  It was not like I had to think about any of these actions.  My plant body just…carried them out.

I know, now you want to stay like this forever.

Mmm… was all I could respond.

                                                            ***

That night, after an expensive meal, Roman and I ambled through the hotel, checking out its amenities.  We walked into the ornate library, which was completely empty.  Of course, my curiosity got the better of me, and I requested, “Roman, let’s be books and sit on one of the shelves.”

He shrugged.  “Okay, but that might get boring after the fun of the initial change wears off.”

“I want to see what it feels like—to be flat like that, but openable, with pages…”

“I have to do this quick, Corrie.  Just in case there’s people around.”  He grabbed my sides, and I felt myself rush to the floor, flattening.

Ooo!  I gasped delightedly.  I guess no talking books, huh?

Chuckling to himself, he picked me up.  “You came out nice.  Before I join you, I thought it only fair to page through you first.”  And he did.  It was quite a rush.

Thanks.  I needed that!  Now what book am I?  I asked.

He laughed again.  “Well, I’m no publisher.  I didn’t bother with words inside of you—but the title on your cover is ‘Corrie’.”  With that, he cleared out a space for us on a shelf that was at eye-level and inserted me into it.  He became a bright light, which radiated into the space beside me and formed into a book.  Hi!  It said.  Tight quarters in here, huh?

            This is nice, too, Roman.

Especially being shelved so closely to my wife, he responded.

We sat like this for a while, watching the people walk by, listening in on conversations and commenting on them.

Suddenly, hands grabbed me and carted me off.  Roman!  I cried in my mind.

Don’t worry.  You’ll be fine.  They might be annoyed when they realize you’re blank, however.

His mind-voice grew dim, and I grew more anxious.  What if this person brought me somewhere, and Roman could not locate me?  As good as it felt, I did not particularly want to remain a blank book the rest of my life.  I wanted to be with Roman…whatever I was.

But my captor, a sad-looking, middle-aged woman, had merely brought me to the other end of the library, where she collapsed into an armchair.  The familiar rush hit me as she opened my cover and flipped through my pages.

“Damn it, they have to have blank, fake books now?  Computers are taking over the damned world!” she screeched, slamming me shut and tossing me on the table.  Then she began to cry.

I felt horrible, and I wanted to console her, but there was not much for me to do, being a book.

“Excuse me, are you reading this book?”

Roman had come to rescue me!  His voice filled me with relief, and he picked me up and rubbed my cover comfortingly.

“No,” sniffled the woman.  “It’s blank.  I thought it’s the one where the woman is transformed into a bird, you know?  That’s like my dream.  My whole life is awful, there’s nothing left.  I can’t even freaking read the damned book I want to!”

I could feel Roman grasping my spine tightly, and I knew the wheels were turning in his mind.  He could help this woman and possibly expose himself, or say nothing, which, although not completely likely, could result in the woman’s suicide.

“You’d like to be a bird?” he asked softly.

She eyed him strangely.  “Well, yeah, wouldn’t you?”

            “Forever?”

Inching away from him, she murmured, “Sure…who are you?”

            “Someone who can help you.”

Dismissively, she began to walk off.  “A magician, huh?  Good night.”  As she approached the exit, she paused.  “Oh, what is happening to me?” she grasped at herself as her body shrank down into the form of a swan.

The bird stood there, frozen, staring down at itself.  It then raised its wings experimentally.  No way!  It thought, then squawked.

“You can’t talk, but I hear your thoughts,” Roman said gently.  For some reason, I did too.  Probably because I was transformed as well, I figured.

The swan looked straight at him.  You’re real!  It’s true!  And it feels…wonderful!  She flapped her wings vigorously, which propelled her into the air.  My God, I can fly!  Thank you!  Thank you!

            “Is a swan okay?”

She came back down to the floor.  It’s perfect! How long will this last?

“As long as you want.  If you need to change back…”

I won’t.  Feeling like this the rest of my life…I’m done with humanity.  Please open that window for me.  I’m indebted to you forever, Mr.—

“I’m Roman, and this book is actually my wife Corrie.”

The book is really your wife?  No wonder it’s blank, laughed the bird in her thoughts.

Glancing around to make sure no one had entered the area, Roman brought me back to human form.  The bird made a gasping sound, and I smiled.  “Thanks for slamming me so hard,” I said sarcastically.

Oh, did I hurt you?  I never thought—

Amazingly, I still could hear her in my mind.  That had to be Roman’s handiwork.  “No,” I laughed.  “Books are usually not people.  It didn’t hurt, though.”

Roman walked off and raised the window wide.

“You’re beautiful like this,” I commented.

I’m really beautiful?  The swan looked thoughtful.  Thank you, Corrie.  Thank you, Roman.  You’ve given me back my life.

“Be careful.  You can still die just like any other bird.  You’re just a swan now.  Well, you have a human mind, but you’ll also gain swan instincts as well,” Roman explained.

I grinned.  “And maybe one day you’ll be a swan mommy!”

I can do that?  My God, I always wished I had kids, but I’m too old now…

“You’re not too old anymore.  You’ll have lovely children.  Now if you ever need us, we live in the middle of the woods on the other edge of town.  We’re the only house.”

Thank you, Roman.  But I won’t.  Have a wonderful life with each other.  And she rose, flying out the window to freedom in a flutter of brand-new white feathers.

We watched her figure grow into a dot on the horizon, and both of us wondered what adventures awaited her.

“It’s nice how happy you can make people, Roman.”  I squeezed his hand.  “You should do that more.”

He sighed.  “I would, but I have to be very selective.  Not everyone wants to keep my secret.”  He shut the window and we turned away.  “It’s very late.  How about we call it a night?”

We walked out of the library and past the front desk.  “Want to wear me tonight?” Roman whispered quietly.

I glanced at the desk clerk, who was clasping a stress ball in her hands.

“Only if you turn me into one of those first.”

                                                            ***

Transforming very slowly into a small, soft stress ball while being stroked all over is quite a sensual experience.  Being used as one is even more fun.  Twisting and contorting as you are compressed and released is…very nice.  I enjoyed having all of me trapped within my husband’s strong fist.  Changing back was upsetting, but at some point Roman could hardly move his hand anymore, so we had to give up.

“Now it’s my turn,” he announced, and he collapsed to the floor, a beautiful satin and lace nightgown.  “Put me on,” he demanded, and I lifted him by his straps.  He was a bright magenta, my favorite color, and I lost no time dropping his silky form over my naked body.

“Mmm, just where I belong,” said my nightgown as I snuggled under the covers of the bed.

I rubbed him against my breasts, and his material shuddered.  “I’m in heaven.  Finally,” he moaned.  I did not realize what a turn-on wearing my husband would be, and, well, our ‘exploration’ went on for several hours.

                                                                        ***

The honeymoon eventually came to an end, but our fun had just started.  We had a whole summer together, and some of Roman’s ideas for changing dwarfed any I could think of.

Life as Corrie was finished.  Life as Mrs. Roman Smyth had only begun.
