(Special thanks to @Crab-Hermit for challenging me to figure this position out for a self bondage session!  This sub loves a good challenge! lol!)

Greetings everybody!!  I’ve had such a busy month of April.  And I haven’t posted much.  I’ve been helping mom and dad with some tax issues and then I got sick.  Not hospital sick.  Not even throwing up, stuck in bed, all day sick.  More just, lingering, feel crappy, upset belly, hacking cough sick.  I’m still sick.  It sucks!  But I sucked it up today and I did a test run of this weird looking, wrist to shoulders, prone, head pulled back, legs pulled apart, frog tie-looking thing.  And I’m here to tell you, it came together quite nicely!  😊

But you know me, I’m all about the details.  The trial and error.  So that’s what I’m going to give you.  Full disclosure, I did NOT actually get into the full bondage position.  I’m doing that under a friend’s supervision on Friday.  But I tested the upper body part of the rigging, and I got it up and running.  I tried a few overly complicated methods first before figuring out that less is more, and I made it work.  So, I’ll share it now.  And then after I do the real thing Friday, I’ll write up another report which will include whatever devices I’m told to do with it.

Tying up my legs and doing the shoulder harness and back arch are all standard stuff.  I didn’t need to reinvent those components.  I’ll write them up later for you.  I want to get to the new stuff.  Oh, I guess I should at least mention that I’ll have my legs frog tied and I’ll be kneeling during the prep for the upper body tie.  I have to think about the order of things, so I know what range of motion limitations I’ll have to do the rest of my rigging.  A one girl show can be trick y’all!

The arm tie involves two elements.  There is the elbow tie.  Then there is the tying the wrists to the upper arms way up by the shoulders.  Kind of a daunting rigging job, but I accepted the challenge so I’m going to do it right.  Right?  Right!

In the order I’m applying the elements, first comes the elbow tie.  This is similar to most elbow ties I’ve done.  I simply take a bunch of rope and wrap loops with it a bunch of times until it forms something like an arm binder.  For this one, I figured out I couldn’t tie my elbows all the way together.  I can get them together, just barely.  But with my elbows touching, I couldn’t pull my hands all the way into my shoulders.  Not to brag, but my arms have too much muscle mass.  No, seriously!  I can do 31 real pushups.  Not girl ones.  Quit laughing!

Yeah, so, I just wiggle my arms down into the rope “sheath.”  It’s kind of loose for now, but once I flex my arms and get my hands tied up to my shoulders, my elbows will flare out a little, my muscles will bugle, and the sheath will be plenty tight.  Also, there’s no problem with it slipping down because or my bent arms.  Even if it slides down some, it can’t get past my bent elbows.  Winner winner!

The trickiest part is the wrists to shoulders.  I thought about tying my left wrist to that shoulder first while my right hand was still free.  The problem was, I couldn’t do that once my elbows were tied, and the elbows had to be first.  That was plan A.

Plan B was attaching cuffs to my upper arms and cuffs to my wrists.  Then I could run tethers from my wrists through the O Rings in the arms cuffs and up the ceiling.  Then I could lean forward from my kneeling position to a prone position, pulling out the slack of the tether lines, and my wrists would be pulled up against the O rings in my arm cuffs.  And that plan was super easy and worked perfectly.  The PROBLEM was that the O rings have like an inch or so width.  So, my cuffs weren’t be anchored to my arms.  They were being anchored like two inches off my arm.  Also, even laying down, I was still able to kind of “bounce” up and pull my hands out.  I couldn’t hold that position so once I went prone, my hands were back to my shoulders again.  But there was just too much sensation of freedom.  Even if I tethered myself down with a collar there was going to be more give and therefore more slack than I should have for this position.  So I scrapped plan B.

I decided to bust out the drawing board, literally.  I came up with a length of ½ inch diameter PVC pipe.  I cut it so it was the same length as the width of my shoulders.  Then I drilled a 1-inch hole in the center of the pipe.  And then I secured it to the base of my neck by using straps kind of like a backpack.  After that, I ran the tethers from my wrist cuffs through the opening of the PVC pipe by my shoulders, out through the hole I drilled in the middle of the pipe and up to the ceiling.  With this rig, when I leaned forward, the tethers would be pulled all the way into shoulders, kind of, because there was no O ring in the way creating a gap.  I was really excited about this plan because it afforded me 100% range of motion up until the point that I leaned forward, so that would make it easy for any of the last-minute details (think, turning on the vibrator) that can be a chore when I’m 75% tied up already.

Unfortunately, Plan C had three fatal flaws.  First, it got the “spirit” of the position all wrong.  Yes, my hand were pulled together and held in place at the same width of my shoulders, holding me in the awkward bent arm position.  However, that’s not really the same as having your wrists actually tied TO YOUR arms.  Which was compounded by fatal flaw number two.  The pipe couldn’t be immobilized enough to my back.  It wiggled about.  I was still pretty much helpless but it didn’t feel locked down like the picture.  And fatal flaw three was that when I really leaned into it, I cracked the PVC pipe.  Hey!  I had a big lunch, ok!  No, the whole in the middle just compromised the rigidity too much and it couldn’t take my body weight, let alone the struggling I wanted to be able to do.

So, shit, y’all.  I took a break and got some tacos because it was Tuesday and because tacos bring renewed energy and fresh perspective.

The tacos brought me an inspiration.  Plan D.  And, spoiler alert, Plan D worked!  I ditched the wrist cuffs.  Instead, I just tied four loops around each wrist and left about a foot of slack at the end.  I also tied a small knot in the loose end just barely and inch from my wrist loops.  I also tied three loops of rope around each upper arm, like a rope bracelet, way up by the shoulder.  Those were going to be my arm cuffs only without O rings.  Now for the brilliant thing (if I do say so myself).  I weaved two chain links through each of the rope arm cuffs.  The chain links circumference was just wide enough for the rope that made up the arm cuff and for my wrist tether to pass through.  What I needed to do was pull the slack out and my wrists would be pulled to the chain link that was basically flush up against my arm at my shoulder level.

Don’t worry, I’ll walk you through it again here in a second.  It’ll all make sense…

Now for the goofy thing.  I used more rope to hand two carabiners suspended right at the height of my shoulders when I was kneeling.  Those aren’t going to be part of the bondage position.  They’re my “assistants” to get into the bondage position.  Now, remember the foot of slack I have from my wrist tethers running through the chain link secured to my arm “cuff?”  I fed the slack of each tether through the carabiner and then grabbed it tightly.  I pulled out all of the slack that I could and knelt up as tall as I could.  Then, I “sat” back down on my heels good and hard.  Doing this, I used my body weight to pull that knot that I tied in my wrist tethers through the link of chain.  It was not easy, but it wasn’t the hardest thing I’ve done for a bondage position by a long shot.  Anyway, once knot wereworked through narrow chain link, they weren’t coming back out.  At least not just from my pulling against them with my severely bent arms, no range of motion and no leverage whatsoever.  I released the end of the foot-long tether and it just slipped through the hanging carabiners.  They dangled in front of me.  They’d have been useless if I could have reached them, and I couldn’t ever reach them with my tiny T-rex arms.

I didn’t even have to use the air mat.  I mean how cool is that?!

Don’t worry about escaping.  I had a plan for that too.  First of all, I didn’t tie up my legs for the tests.  So I just stood up and walked around a bit and struggled.  Nope.  I absolutely could NOT pull the knot back out through the chain link.  Remember, it took me bouncing with my full body weight to pull them through in the first place.  So, to get out, I just needed to apply a similar force in the opposite direction.  I walked over to my work bench and grabbed ahold of a vice that is bolted down.  Keeping a firm grip on the immovable vice, I jerked my upper body away from it with all of my weight.  The first couple of jerks didn’t pull my hand away from my arm.  So I just leaned away from the vice and used my body weight and kind of squirmed and bounced a bit.  With relatively little effort, I was able to pop the knot through the chain link and my arms were free to extend again.  With my arms extended, it wasn’t hard at all to wiggle the rope arm binder down because, remember, I didn’t have to make it super tight to be effective with bent arms.

And that’s about it.  Part 2 will be coming sometimes after Friday.  Bye y’all!
