I sat perched upon a stool in my art room, splashes of paint stained the blank canvas. My hair a complete mess, paint blotches ever present in the scarlet locks. I was a complete wreck at this point.
My knitted furiously, as I dabbed the brush in a pool of red paint and dragged the brush across the snow white canvas. My fingers slipped, causing a wayward streak to race across the field of white. In frustration I whipped the palette across the room, and with a wet splat it struck the wall.
“Is everything alright, my sweet?” My girlfriend Amber asked as she came sweeping into the studio. I watched as her eyes flicked from the blank canvas, and now paint stained wall, theb back to me. She pursed her ruby lips in a frown. “Come here, love.” She whispered as she swept me into her warm embrace.
I returned the hug; my fingers running through Amber’s soft, sunshine hair. Closing my eyes I breathed in the sweet fragrance of her lover. Lilacs, with a hint of something spicy. My fingers brushed against the soft, pink silk of her dress.
“Feeling a little feisty?” I asked, gently nuzzling her cheek. My fingers trailing the curves of her body. “You always know how to make me feel better.” I said, lips pressing against the tender flesh of her neck.
Amber squeaked as I gently pinched her butt. “Alyssa!” She giggled swatting my hand away, “Now, now missy. We can save that fun for later.” Her lips pressed against my forehead, God I loved those lips. “For now I have come here to be your muse for art!”
Tilting my chin up I locked eyes with her, “Amber, you have always been my muse.” I said pulling her close, “But I just seemed to have hit a roadblock with this.” With a shrug of my shoulders I gesture to the splotchy canvas.
Amber sighed and pushed me away. Grabbing hold of the canvas she tossed it aside like the palette I threw. Grabbing a new piece she placed it on the easel. Spinning around she struck a pose as she faced me.
“Tada! I want you to put me on the canvas.” She said straightening her pose.
“Amber, you know I don’t mind drawing you, but there are hundreds of paintings of you.” I replied rubbing the back of my neck.
“No, no, no!” Amber retorted with a wave of her hands, “I want you to PUT me ON the CANVAS.” She said, accentuating those three words. “Ugh, do I have to spell it out for you? I want you to use me as paint!”
I blinked in confusion, “What do you mean use you as paint? Amber, you are a human being. I can’t just use you as paint.”
Throwing her hands in the air, Amber made her way over to the large bookshelf I had in my studio. Row after row was filled with photo albums, and artbooks. I watched in astonishment as Amber rather easily pushed the heavy shelf aside. Standing by the flat backside of it, Amber turns to face me again.
“Push it over.” She says with that bright, red smile. “Trust me, it won’t hurt at all.” With a playful wink, Amber looks up.
Knowing that she will not give this up, unless I actually do it, I walk over to the other side. “I am just going to say this once. You are going to pick up this mess when this doesn’t work.” Dragging my step stool over, I stand on the highest rung.
“But it will~” I hear her tease from the opposite side.
With a sigh, I give the shelf one strong push. Thanks to my height advantage it topples over with relative ease. From up high I catch a glimpse of Amber’s smiling face, right before the loud boom sounds as the shelf hits the floor.
“See, now you just hurt yourself.” I said shaking my head, and stepping down from the stool. However as I turn around my eyes go wide, as I see the shelf is flush with the ground.
“AMBER!?” I shriek as I fall to my knees in disbelief, “AMBER ARE YOU THERE?!” The shelf was so tight against the ground I could not even slip a piece of paper underneath. “AMBER! SPEAK TO ME! I TOLD YOU THIS WAS A BAD IDEA! ”
From the middle of the shelf I could barely make out a tiny squeak. Whatever happened to Amber it sounded like she was still alive. Which lifted a small weight off my shoulder, but I had to get her out of there!
I first tried pushing the shelf, but without the advantage of gravity I could barely nudge it. So I had to take the long way with this and remove each book. It took me a good half hour to remove the books all by myself, a solid half hour of pressure being pressed upon my girlfriend. It didn’t help that I had to step on the shelf a couple times to get a out of reach book.
After the books had been restacked, I was able to lift the shelf up… until it slipped from my fingers and crashed down again. I could hear Amber squeaking, and that fueled me with a sense of drive to save my lover. With a final heave I moved the shelf aside, and finally got a look of Amber.
At this point Amber resembled more of a pink pancake, than my actual girlfriend. Her smiling face was about twice the size it normally should be, and was framed by her blonde hair on top, and tanned skin from her breasts. The rest of her body was ringed by the pink of her dress and shoes, with a smidgen of white.
I really could not believe my eyes. A half hour ago Amber was standing tall, and in the third dimension, but now she was flatter than a sheet of paper. Kneeling down I tried to peel her off the floor, but my fingers met something a little mushier. Apparently the combination of pressure, moving the shelf around, and stepping on her changed her consistency! Amber was definitely more like paint at this point.
A soft moan escaped Amber’s lips, her cheeks flushed. I could tell she was really enjoying this. It was at that moment I felt my body quiver, like a bolt of lightning was running through my body. Inspiration had struck me, and with no real way to return Amber back to normal…
Grabbing my paint brush, I dabbed it into the pink that made up her lower regions. Another moan escaped Amber’s lips. Oh she was going to enjoy this very much.
A few hours later I stood before a now filled canvas. Amber smiled back with bubblegum lips, as her crimson ones remained on the floor. I could not bring myself to use my favorite part of her in the painting, I was going to let them solidify for my amusement.
You see there were points during this whole endeavor that she began to harden. Naturally I had to keep the same consistency of paint, so I had to run a rolling pin over her a few times.
“Thank you so much, Amber.” I said kissing the dried painting, “You really are my muse afterall.” Throwing a sheet over her, I prepare her for travel. There was an art show that I needed to take her too!
---The Next Day---
“And the winner for Best In Show this year goes to…” The announcer paused for suspense, “Newcomer Alyssa Tredman and her piece, Waiting In Pink.” The crowd applauded as I was beckoned to the front.
I could barely contain my glee, as I forced myself to slowly walk up to the stage.
“Congratulations Ms. Tredman, you have truly outdone yourself this year.” The announcer said as he pulled the drapes away from my wonderful painting.
Seated in the middle of the twenty four by thirty six inch canvas was my darling Amber, dressed in her soft pink dress and Converse. Her golden locks shone brightly, mainly thanks to the white of her shoes adding highlights to her hair. Amber’s tan skin easily covered the most of her body, but I had so much left over I mixed it with brown to make her bench. The bubble gum pink from her dress was used to recreate that dazzling smile, with a little white from her shoes to create teeth. She looked so at ease there, like she was waiting for this moment all her life. My immortalized girlfriend.
Coming up to the picture I run a hand over the picture’s face. It was amazing how she was reduced from five and half feet to this. My own smile mirrored the painted one as I turned to face the curator.
“Thank you sir, the honor is all mine.” I said taking the stand. “I just wanted to say thank you too everyone who supported me on this journey. I would not be here today if it weren't for any of you. A huge thank you to my family, for putting up with me and stuff.”
I grinned at the camera, my face on millions of televisions around the world.
“Thank you too my art professors for pushing me to be the very best.” I giggled, “And a special thank you to my girlfriend Amber, who was my muse for this piece.” My hand fell to the locket at my waist. A special locket that held the folded up lips of Amber.
Sure, I know my girlfriend may only be a pair of lips now. But she will always be immortalized in my art, and maybe one day I can get her lips talking. They still tremble in delight, so I know she is enjoying her new life style. Those trembling lips were going to be in for the greatest treat tonight too~
