Despite being a centauress, she had always been a bookworm, preferring the school library to gym class. Shy and composed, she felt at peace quietly surrounded by books. As time passed, she naturally wanted to become a librarian, but her family had a strict tradition...
Even before the years of the Pony Express, her family had been famous for serving in the postal services. When she was young, she often listened to her great grandfather about how her ancestors first worked for the Thurn and Taxis ([link]) family back in middle age. So there was quite a bit of pressure on her to follow her family of great postmen and postwomen and become a postwoman herself.
Way too shy, she didn't really argue when her parents told her to apply as a postwoman. She first thought she could be sent to the sorting office, but considering she was a centauress, it was decided she was best suited as a postwoman.
The poor girl felt out of place: she never really exercised, and wasn't used to spending all day outside. But the worst was that she was terrified of dogs for some reason (while she shouldn't feel worried at all, as a centauress). Here you can see her freezing in front of that nice dog that didn't even bark at her.
So, she is for now following her family tradition, trying to get as much courage as possible to stand up to her parents and explain about her dream to become a librarian. Good luck!

I really hope she becomes a librarian: the poor girl is really out of her element in the streets.
Thanks go to DS for giving me the idea for this drawing, and who knows, maybe I'll draw her as a librarian one day. Again I tried a new coloring technique, so tell me if you like it.
