She is supposed to be a shaman from Africa, between the great lakes and Tanzania, during the late 1800's.
She began her initiation at the age of 10, and at the age of 17, she got her waist rings as a confirmation of her status. Those rings symbolize the frugality (no fat shamans allowed, hahaha) and the energy channel between the genitalia and the mind (kinda like a hourglass)...anyway, explaining all the meanings implied there would be complicated.

She is supposed to be 21 in that pic. She has a very teasing/goofy attitude that makes people think she shouldn't be taken serisouly, yet, she is quite wise and knows a lot of knowledge (herbal medecine, animals, etc).
Since her rings cannot be removed (well, they could, but it's not like she could undo them for the night and put them back in the morning), she has a very careful lifestyle. She eat few, and very slowly, taking small bites (as her stomach is placed on the lower part of her body). She has a very good balance also, as she can't use much her back muscle to sustain her body anymore, and even if she's from Africa, she practice somesort of yoga everyday. Well, she control perfectly her body you could say.

As for whose wondering, the bowl is full of a herbal liquid that give you trances if smelt or drunk.
Here is a colored version of that shaman. ^^ [link]

I'd like to thank :iconyuni: for this one. I always had a thing for tight waists, but I never thought about things like she does. And I have to say I love that!
