I look in the mirror, as I see my reflection I hear all the things people say about my body, that I need to lose weight, that I'm fat, that I don't look attractive, that I don't look manly, that I look messy, that I'm ugly. I slowly make my way out of the bathroom and slowly do my chores, cleaning the house, making the bed, preparing dinner, all the while the same thoughts and memories keep playing in my mind, bring me down, making each task more difficult.

Hearing the car pull into the drive I quickly move to the front door and kneel, part of me wondering if my appearance affects my relationship. Will he leave me for someone else? Does he secretly hate me?

As the door opens I bow my head and kiss his feet, hoping that my good behaviour will please him enough to tolerate my ugliness. As I return to my kneeling position I feel his finger gently lift my head up to him, his face concerned as he sees how sad I am. He lowers himself down to me and puts a hand on my shoulder.

"What's wrong?" I look away, I feel so stupid, I'm stupid and ugly, why should I bother him with my problems?

"I... I know I'm not appealing to look at, that I'm fat and ugly, that you deserve better..." My words are cut off by a finger gently against my lips, his hand gently turning me to look straight at him.

"You're not ugly and I'd never want anyone else, I'd never be able to find someone better, you're beautiful, to me you're the most beautiful, most attractive, person I have every met and will ever meet. Anyone who says otherwise isn't worth listening to or caring about. You are my most prized possession, I put that collar around your neck because I want to have you in my life forever, because I treasure you, because I love you." Tears fill my eyes as I realise how ridiculous I was being, I know all this deep down but sometimes past abuse gets to me, I just needed reminding of my value. I feel his lips against mine as we embrace, my fears fading away, the scars healing as I accept the truth, that I'm loved and beautiful to my master, the only one who's opinion other than my own matters.
