I awake to the sound of my alarm clock, my eyes slowly opening as I feel a weight on my body, my puppies wet tongue lovingly and excitedly licking me, happy for me to be awake, wanting to play with me, or maybe he just really needs to be let out or wants his breakfast, either way I'm not getting back to sleep for an extra 5 minutes, that's what I get for being a nice owner and letting him sleep on my bed rather than in his cage. He always looks so sad when I lock him up for the night, not that he ever refuses to go into his cage, but when I allow him to sleep with me curled up at the end of the bed he gets so excited, it's hard to say no to him, he is so innocent and helpless, so loving and adorable, I can't help but want to love him back, he's my best friend, one who never judges me, never wants to hurt me, is always there for me, comforts me when I'm sad or heartbroken, celebrates with me even if he doesn't know why, takes naps with me on the sofa, and makes sure that I don't spend all morning in bed, even if I could do with a bit more sleep. I stroke his head in response, telling him that I love him to and that I'm awake.

"Alright boy, I'm up." I feel him flop down laying in my chest and I look down at him, his tongue out, panting happily, his mind peaceful and content, his empty, unthinking eyes completely hiding the fact that he was once my boyfriend, once a human being, one who could walk on two legs, speak, wore clothes, ate at the table and went to the toilet indoors, a toilet I now have to stop him from drinking from.

"You know I can't get up if you are on top of me?" He playfully lowers his head onto my chest, knowing that right now he has me pinned down, he knows I can push his light body off but won't, I stroke his head, feeling his calm breathing, seemingly completely happy and content just laying on top of me, just being with me in the peaceful moment, making me feel the same as well.

At first when he mentioned puppyplay I thought it was weird, he pretended it didn't matter but every now and then he brought it up, clearly he wanted to do it and I wanted him to be happy, so we tried it out. I still found it a bit weird at first, what sort of person wants to be treated like a dog, to pretend to be a puppy, wearing nothing but a collar, one that marks him as an owned animal, with a tag saying his new name and the address of his owner on it and a GPS tracker if he gets lost, to pee outside, to eat and drink out of dog bowls, to walk on all fours, to bark, to be led on a leash? But as our sessions grow longer I realised that I was was looking at him all wrong, he wasn't pretending to be a dog, he was pretending to be a human, when he was in puppy mode he was so much more relaxed and happy, more expressive and confident, like he was free to be himself, I started to hate seeing him when he came out of it, clearly feeling saddened by having to return to putting on his human persona, having to act like the person he wasn't, having to navigate the complexities of human life, every now and then I'd catch him being uncomfortable wearing clothes or holding cutlery or trying to interact socially, clearly wanting to return to being the puppy he truly was. It took a bit of time to accept it, part of me didn't want to, but I love him and want him to be happy, so one day I told him that if he wants this then he can be my pet forever, but if he agreed then we could never go back to being boyfriends, he would only ever be my puppy. He immediately agreed, his face beaming with joy and relief at never having to come out of his puppy state, his happiness in that moment made me sure it was the right thing to do, how could I deny him this. He even suggested a few modifications to his body, just to make his life better, suggested removing his fingers and feet, making him unable to grip objects or walk on two legs, fully dependent on me as his owner to look after him, and also his balls. I was a bit hesitant about the last one, the firat two made some sense but it almost felt like he wouldn't love me anymore if we removed them, but after he tried to hump my leg a few times, unable to play with himself after his paws were modified, and kept getting hard around me, it felt like something that should be done, like he said to me, all dogs should be neutered, so I had him fixed. It was a bit of a shock for him when he woke up, part of me wonders if I should have told him what was about to happen or given him one last orgasm, but you wouldn't do that to any other pet, so I guess it doesn't matter, besides he doesn't seem bothered by it now, nor did it affect how much he loves me, in fact it seems to have made him more loving towards me, I seem to be his whole world, not to mention it made him more docile and calm, much easier to manage and train. He even still pleasures me sexually, he seems to even enjoy it, though I'm not sure how or why, maybe he just loves knowing he is pleasing me or he just enjoys his delicious treat of cum. I feel my morning wood press against his weight, maybe in a few minutes I'll have him go under the covers and relieve me, he does like that game.

He did also suggest removing his vocal cords but I didn't want to take away his doggy voice, even if he doesn't talk I still like hearing him bark, whimper and whine, his way of talking to me. I love hearing him pant and bark excitedly, his whining when begging me for scraps of my food or asking to be let out to pee, even his whimpering is good to hear, as he tells me when he is scared or sad and needs me, never worrying about what I'd think of him in response, happy to be open, completely trusting and vulnerable with me, which makes me love him more. Instead I opted for using a shock collar, the shocks quickly teaching and conditioning him to only use his doggy words to communicate like a good boy, I'm not even sure if he knows how to speak any more, not that he would even if he could.

I smile down at my pet dog as I stroke his head lovingly, I'm so happy that I have my best friend and I know he thinks he is lucky to have me as his owner, one who allowed him to be the puppy he truly is and love him for who he is.
