(The Less Short, Less Early, Without A Ton Of Lore Version - further updated with last names in late 2021)

No really - this mostly takes the text from the original short bios posted in early 2020, and makes a few tweaks. Jess has the most changes, the others mostly incorporate things that have happened since I started writing more stories.

What is the Transformation League?

Have you ever watched a show that combines fun challenges and embarrassing results? Especially if it's all in good fun? Anything where there's an obstacle course and the competitor gets covered in something gross or takes a long fall into a safety net or a pool.

Now think about that show existing in a universe with toon physics. That's the League.

There are other "normal" sports in this world, but given everyone's "enhanced" endurance here, the tricks and traps you can add to an obstacle course become extreme. Crushing walls reducing competitors to stains on the floor? Swinging blades to slice them in half? Rooms that are too hot or too cold to extremes? The list goes on. If you can think of it, the League probably has it. Bigger events even recreate scenes from famous movies or mimic video games.

These broadcasts are fairly popular. The League exists to facilitate competitions, make sure nobody's cheating, and maintain the crowd pleasing machinery needed to antagonize its competitors. It takes a cut from organizing everything, but its top drawing teams are well paid. The opening acts are another story, left to fight for the scraps until they make it big.

Teams usually have 4 members, and often compete in smaller groups. This lets teams recover faster and stay fresh, while still having the option of holding 4 person events. Originally there were also solo competitions, but they are rarer now. After early experiments with teams, everyone agreed they made sense so one competitor could restore their teammate faster and keep the action moving.

Who and what are the dust bunnies?

Scarlett has been a fan of the Transformation Racing League since she was young. Now that she's all grown up, and she's having trouble finding other jobs, she's decided to try competing. That led her and her girlfriend Amber to get a team together. They
settled on "The Dust Bunnies" as a team name because of their side work.

Scarlett and Amber talked some friends into forming a team together, and now they need to fund operations. They've been doing odd jobs on the side with their new teammates Zoe and Jessica, but they're hoping to get a true sponsorship deal some day. They have had some early success in the League, but they're running into tougher competitions and haven't earned the wins, fame, and fortune they need to get sponsored, and gain the stability to leave side jobs behind forever. Until then, they'll take (almost) any job that pays, but they need to stop having accidents and tiring themselves out at work.

Living as a team has been interesting for the Dust Bunnies. Their first month living together, Zoe and Jessica started teasing her and Amber about being too loud at night. Amber talked Scarlett into trying to shock them by walking out of their room in a less than normal shape. To their surprise, Zoe and Jess joined in the fun, and since then the four have had something of an open relationship together, even if it's mostly borne out of practice "accidents." The four have plenty fun together at the house between odd jobs and league events.

How do most League race events work?

Typically a team works together with the league proper to design a course. The League pays attention to trends and tries to work in a few obstacles, usually smashing pistons and inflation traps. Sometimes they'll get sponsored to put on an event, like theming a course after something popular, or they'll partner up and do something like their traditional chance to advertise at the carnival.

Rather than have every course be just that, the team helping with the course gets a chance to stop the other competitors directly. Sometimes just referred to as the spoiler role, it also gives the audience a chance to see teams splattering each other head to head. To make sure things don't go too long, it's only one person at a time (usually facing at least 2 from another team) somehow guarding a room. Technically they can do almost anything, but most often they hold some sort of key to the next area that can only be recovered from their splattered remains. The only other rule is they can't just splatter the other team forever - it's bad for TV ratings. If a team is still stuck after a long time, the league lets the other team move on so fans can see them get mangled by the rest of the course.

Anything else about this world?

It's generally assumed to be a normal-ish society. It probably resembles a generic United States city, but it could be anywhere (no cities or countries are named, and any reference to a location as part of someone's physical description is for convenience).

The primary difference is everyone adheres to cartoon physics. Anything and anyone should be able to snap back relatively quickly, regardless of background, gender, other aspects of identity, or whatever. (Don't think too hard about how food works.) Males get squished and melted (etc) just as easily as their female counterparts (along with their non-binary friends), and it’s even presumed there’s a male version of the TF League. These stories just focus on women because, well, I wanted to.

People generally want to go about public life normally, though it's known squishings happen. As a general rule, nobody's looking to go through life permanently flat. Anyone intentionally trying to keep someone transformed for an extended time usually has things backfire on them.

Fusions are also generally known. It can be hard NOT to end up fused with someone eventually. Still, most people go around as just theirself. Not that anyone would notice if they didn’t...

Scarlett Ayers

Scarlett is a woman in her mid 20s, trying to figure out how to make a living in the world. She's happy go lucky, and will go with the flow, so deciding on a career is challenging for her. She's in good shape, so as a lifelong fan, the league seemed like a promising choice. Scarlett's problem? She's a bit of a klutz, so she's in over her head with the League's level of traps. Add in her tendency to accidentally transform herself, and her not so secret enjoyment of the process, and it makes winning competitions a challenge for her.

On a lot of levels, Scarlett's as big a transformation fangirl as her viewers. She just happens to be able to hold her own in the League. It partially why she melts so much - she needs to get over her own fandom to be effective.

Despite being accident prone, Scarlett is a pretty good mechanic. She's helped her Uncle maintain his car collection, and has been working on her own car at his place. It's probably the one thing that can distract her from her league obsession. With the proper training, she could easily be a master mechanic. She just isn't ready to abandon the dream of the league. She's not a half bad driver, but needs to learn not to liquefy her friends in the passenger seat.

Scarlett still isn't sure how she talked Amber into this crazy dream, and supports her girlfriend in her races and other events outside the league. They share a room in the house, and they find all sorts of ways to get into trouble together. Scarlett is rarely solid around her in bed for long.

Zoe is the type of person she loves to watch on TV, and she's definitely fun around the house, but even Scarlett knows she takes her fun too far in races. Zoe has taken her on in a sort of mentor-mentee relationship, seeing a lot of her younger self in The Melty One.

More recently, Zoe's trying to impart her own philosophies on mind over matter to Scarlett, giving Scarlett a bit more control over her melty body. If she's focused, she can appear solid even when essentially melted (like after eating super spicy food). She hasn't used the phrase yet, but the term "slime girl" would almost be a good description of that state.

Jessica has been a good gaming buddy, both at the table and, well, inside the consoles. Jess tries to push Scarlett to try new things, usually with messy results. Scarlett is otherwise a little jealous of Jessica's taffy machine and raw skill at transforming others.

Physical Description: Fair skin, deep red hair, ice blue eyes. Right handed. Fit but not strong. At about five and a half feet tall, she's the shortest on the team. She likes to wear cute relaxing clothes at home. She favors sandals, and will sometimes wear a bandanna to hold her hair down. She favors elemental water designs on her clothes (like the ice cube), and it sometimes changes state with her (if she's flattened, the cube might appear shattered. If she's incinerated, the cube might be a puddle).

Likes: Amber, melting, working on cars, melting, watching transformation competitions, melting, inflating at home, melting, having "fun" with her friends, melting, video games, spicy food (because it leads to melting)

Dislikes: Having to work multiple jobs, being a klutz, being criticized for not solidifying quickly, being caught in a pleasurable transformation in public (Outside of League events anyway. She realizes that's basically the point of the League, it's why she watches it!), being bad at video games.

Other relationships:

Yuki of the Ratpack team thinks Scarlett's slow restoration speed is adorable, and will always try to splatter Scarlett with her giant tree trunk clubs.

Scarlett doesn't have an Allison Ables shrine, but is (figuratively) in love with her technical prowess.

Phoebe Le Blanc has been fun to hang out with, and Scarlett wants to help her teach Cassandra Valentine a lesson or two. Cassie still doesn't know she's been tormented specifically by a Phoebe-Scarlett fusion, and Scarlett has no intention of revealing that to her.

Sonia Enders is one of a few people Scarlett can recover faster than. Scarlett is on friendly terms with the giantess, but mostly wants her to keep training Amber in that whole size thing.

Amber Allegri

Amber has been Scarlett's friend since High School, but they didn't start dating until college. On one of Amber's visits to Scarlett, she walked in on her watching the Transformation League in a compromised position, half melted on the bed. Scarlett was embarrassed and worried about what her friend would think, until Amber jumped in and splattered her on the sheets. That was their first date night, and Amber has been molding Scarlett into various shapes ever since, whether Scarlett's ready for it or not. Of course, Scarlett's clumsiness does a better job of getting "revenge" against Amber than Scarlett ever could on purpose.

Besides being on the Dust Bunnies, Amber actively participates in distance races, rec league soccer, and other athletic competitions. While the Transformation League wasn't her first choice of professional careers, she wants to support Scarlett and help her reach her dreams. This makes her the best raw athlete of the Dust Bunnies.

Amber also loves long walks in the park and looking at nature. No really, it's half the fun of running "normal" races. She's the most in tune with nature on the team, though that has gotten her turned into a plant on more than one occasion.

She's the most pragmatic about the other team details, from finding work and financing to training. She's the least into getting transformed for fun, but she still likes it with her friends.

She's also the most competitive. Her athletic spirit can get her frustrated with her team's lack of overwhelming success, and into competitions she might not be able to win. Those usually are with friends, and end with her scattered across a room losing a bet, but it's all good fun. In the end she knows her team is in the league for because they love it, and Amber loves their passion for it.

Amber knows she can always have fun with Scarlett. Squishing her and fusing with her beloved melty one will never get old. Even if they've started having fun with their team mates, they usually take on other play mates as a team whether in their separate bodies or in a fused state.

Zoe is fun outside matches, but Amber thinks she needs to focus more on winning and less on being flashy. There's no denying Zoe is hot stuff and a lot of fun around the house, but Amber really wants to get through a competition or a game night without Zoe demanding the spotlight over playing well.

With Jessica, Amber has developed a rivalry. Both girls are too prideful to not end up competing with each other in practice, but it does improve both of their capabilities. Zoe and Scarlett have learned to get out of the way of their contests.

In the past, Amber "had a chance" against Jess because of raw will power. Recently, with the help of Sonia Enders, they realized Amber had a spark for Growth within her. She's still trying to master this ability, and most of her growing (and shrinking) practice involve squishing Scarlett.

Physical Description: Healthy-pink Caucasian skin (not as pale as Scarlett), dirty blond hair usually in a pony tail, green eyes. Left handed (Dust Bunnies only lefty). As a runner, she is thin and has well toned legs, but she's not flat as a board either. Just over 6 feet, tallest on the team. She is usually wearing clothes she can go running in.

Likes: Scarlett, running, helping her friends, playing with Scarlett, competing, occasional opportunistic prankster, the occasional inflation night, long walks through the park, getting huge, melting Scarlett, butts, protein shakes

Dislikes: not playing to win, poor strategy, unplanned transformations slowing her down, getting home from a job late, rainy days

Raw Strength: ***
Speed: *****
TF Resistance: ***

Other relationships:

Having only encountered Cassandra Valentine a few times, she's heard enough to know she'd rather flatten the green haired one than hang out with her.

Sonia Enders is sort of a Giantess Instructor for her. She not as close a friend as Zoe, but Amber is someone Sonia can hang out with at giant size.

Zoe Reyes

Zoe has been in the Transformation League for a few years already, after a somewhat infamous collegiate career with Kara. When Zoe puts her mind to it, she can win, but she had trouble staying with one team for very long. While she's fun to hang out with, and generally isn't a bad person, she has trouble finishing strong because she thinks there's an easier path to fame and fortune.

Why waste energy trying to win when the fans just want to see you get squished anyway?

She's not entirely wrong. Having a large following can help you get paid through fans and endorsement deals. It's what got her and Kara into the league after College. She even has her own lines of transformation themed T-shirts. Her childhood gymnastic training helps her twist in just the right ways, so she can usually get smooshed face up for photos. As a result, Zoe has made enemies from dragging teammates into her fun. Zoe may have learned the skill of looking good in 2 dimensions, but her teammates don't like being smears on the ground next to her, and not getting to share in all the deals she gets. It's not that she's entirely unwilling to share the spotlight, it's that the marketers don't care about her less flashy team mates.

Zoe's philosophies and observations about the world not only led to her penchant for looking good while flattened, but given her some level of control over her body's transformations. This helps her control transformations even more, helps control some friends squished with her, and even make her body transform itself for a short time. It's very exhausting though, and she's liable to fall unconscious deflated if she tries to cheat too much. (Despite this, she has no fourth wall knowledge).

Zoe was recruited by Amber and Scarlett through a friend after being released from her last team. Zoe isn't much older than them (still in her 20s herself), and likes their enthusiasm, so she has agreed to help them out. If nothing else, her experience and knowledge of league politics is a valuable asset.

Zoe is trying to mentor Scarlett, thinking she's too naive about those backroom politics, and that she would be a cute protege. In a lot of ways, Scarlett is a younger version of herself, only more into melting than flattening. She's trying to get Scarlett to be as zany as she is.

She respects Amber, but thinks she needs to loosen up a little, figuratively and literally. Still, she knows how to trick Amber into interesting situations, and loves teasing her with contests. Even if Amber's the better athlete, Zoe has more experience. Both on the courses, and in bed.

Zoe knows how to have fun with Jessica even if Jess can be reckless sometimes. Well, all the time. Zoe usually lets herself get molded, squished, taffied, and everything else by Jess, but Zoe knows how to make her woman melt when she wants to.

In her spare time, Zoe's actually a pretty good chef. Since working with the Dust Bunnies doesn't lead to as many matches since they're a new unsponsored team, she's been improving her recipes with interesting results. She's keeping her team fed, and much to Zoe's delight, her teammates often enjoy a little too much of her cooking.

Physical Description: Tan skin, dark hair, black eyes, beach body. Right handed. Usually keeps her hair in a braid. Biggest bust size on the team. She goes to the gym to keep her physique, but doesn't have as much athletic talent as the others outside of acrobatics. Zoe wears clothing that shows off for the occasion, whether that means skimpy shorts or fancy dresses.

Likes: Showing off, getting flattened and transformed in ways that make her look cute to her fans, cooking, being way too excited about squishings (whether herself or others)

Dislikes: Passing opportunities to show off for her fans, getting transformed in ways where she can't show off (such as disintegrating), having to be serious

Raw Strength: **

TF Resistance: ***
Restoration Speed: ***

Charisma: *****

Typical Food TF Flavor: black licorice

Chat Room Name: ZoeMelons69 (alternate - ZoeMelons420)

Other Relationships:

Zoe pretty much melted when Sonia Enders presented her with modeling opportunities. The strange beautiful woman that still claims to be from another dimension without transformations has piqued her interest. She is adorable, and hopelessly into herself and Pepper, and Zoe loves helping Sonia get splattered everywhere.

Zoe also knows she can't just splatter herself around forever. Sonia's modeling connections will help Zoe have a nice post-league career...if she wants to retire anyway.

Kara on the Sparkling Icicles is a College TF competition team mate of Zoe's. Unfortunately for Kara, Zoe stole the show and everyone mostly remembers Kara as the woman who something somethinged with Zoe. It did help Kara get noticed though, and she can't deny Zoe is otherwise a great friend.

Jessica "Jess" Knight

Jessica has a mind for science and thinking things through, but at the same time enjoys throwing caution to the wind. She has the best raw strength (at least compared to Amber's normal size) on the team, and one of the best restoration/recovery times across the whole league. That plus her natural stamina make it so she *could* think her way through an obstacle, but often her best path forward is to get squished, sliced in half, melted, and plan on restoring herself almost instantly. Jessica has quite a few strong finishes through sheer determination more than skill as a result, and anyone mocking her less graceful finishes will be reminded to look at the results after losing to a pancake.

As a veteran in the League, Jess has no long term worries about keeping a paycheck. She sees working with a new team and showing them the ropes as a fun mentoring opportunity. The chance to team up with Zoe again got her to agree to fill out the Dust Bunny's roster, and they've spent quite a bit of time together since. Zoe's own endurance is enough to keep up with Jessica's...demanding...version of fun.

This has given Jessica some free time. She's taken her restoration abilities to their natural extreme, experimenting with experiencing all sorts of transformations, from flattening to melting to outright blowing herself up with dynamite and other explosives. She's especially fond of inflating herself and increasing her already impressive capacity. Knowing how specific traps and items affect her toony friends helps a lot with her gaming hobby.

Jess loves to play table top games, and being the veteran has given her more time to focus on them. No matter the exact gaming system, she enjoys the chance to describe fun transformation experiences to her friends, and has even managed to get a few of her adventures published as a side job. This is the most she's gotten to play games in a very long time.

Jess also has some of the biggest "toys" in the house. Everyone wants a turn on her taffy machine.

With Scarlett, Jess gets to share a love of games. Scarlett has a lot to learn before her body can keep up with Jessica's, but that doesn't mean they can't have fun together.

Amber has developed a fun rivalry with Jessica that has translated into amazing on the field chemistry. The two keep pushing each other's limits, and Jess loves teasing Amber's competitive nature. Amber's own ability to grow to match Jessica's endurance and strength lets to fun contests.

Jessica had something of an on again off again relationship with Zoe. They were on a team together early in Zoe's career, and Jess was sad to see Zoe go, even if she understood why. They're both grown up a little since then, and as much as their relationship is officially an open one, they've been spending an awful lot of time squishing each other.

Jess also loves Zoe's cooking. More than once, she's packed on a few extra pounds after a meal. All Zoe asks is Jess throw her weight around Zoe responsibly (meaning directly at her).

Physical Description: Dark skin. Her eyes are brown, but she wears contacts to match her hair. She's usually seen with shoulder length purple hair, but it's actually part of a nice wig collection. She rarely wears a natural hair color (unless you count RED), and likes mixing things up. She's most often wearing purple or electric blue. She naturally has black hair, if she lets it grow. Right handed.

Jessica is a little thiccer than the other ladies, but she can keep up with them - she's probably the second best athlete on the team after Amber. She wears comfortable clothes around the house.

Likes: Good food, conquering obstacles, explosives, any transformation involving the word "bigger" (like inflation), board and tabletop games, showing off her endurance (usually by being the last one solid at a fun party)

Dislikes: avoiding a challenge, being wrong (she doesn't reject being wrong, but she doesn't have to like it either), letting her team down, people disrespecting her results, people not appreciating games

Raw Strength: *****
Speed: ***
TF Resistance: ****
Restoration Speed: ******

Intelligence: ****
Typical Food TF Flavor: depends on the wig. Who knew flavor was dictated by hair color?

Chat Room Name: TigraSeahammer (it's her first meaningful table top RPG character name)

Other Relationships:

Having played a few games with the Flatmates, Jessica knows two things. Allison Ables is a power gaming monster, and Cassandra Valentine is a spoiled brat. Ally she actually appreciates, and it's good to know what tactics she hasn't thought of when writing a new adventure. Cassie getting put in her place is always fun.

Secondary Characters / Other Teams:

Almost every team has 4 members. Given the realities of the flow of stories, and not wanting to just make up characters all the time and give them backstories, most of them only have 2 people defined right now. The others exist though.

Most of these characters have appeared in one or two stories, so they're not nearly as fleshed out.

Most of them do appear in www.deviantart.com/flexiblepeo…

For some, that's their only appearance.

The Ratpack - Yuki and Lily

Yuki is a shorter woman of east Asian heritage. Don't let her small size fool you, she almost always has a tremendous tree trunk, a little taller than she is, to use as a club. She boasts quite the collection, and won't hesitate to splatter her opposition.

She considers Scarlett a friendly rival, adoring how cute the Melty One is when she runs out of energy and gets reduced to a blue and red splatter. She's been warned by the league more than once about focusing too much on keeping Scarlett a puddle, but in most cases, Amber has punished her and get gooey revenge.

Yuki has one of the higher spice tolerances in the league, but is still trying to figure out how Scarlett out-hot-spices her.

Yuki favors bright blue and green clothes, and is super high energy.

Lily is Yuki's team mate. She's also east Asian, but taller, more brooding and dark colored clothing stereotype.

Where Yuki can lose her focus splattering everyone, Lily maintains better focus. She's constantly reminding Yuki to mind her manners and not be obsessed with splattering Scarlett outside competition.

The Sparkling Icicles - Kara and Bella

Kara has pale Caucasian skin, and icy blue eyes. Her hair is typically in a ponytail.

She once had designs on being a figure skater, but Kara's aggressive style was a little abrasive. After delivering a few freezings by ice shavings too many, someone suggested Kara get into the transformation race scene.

Kara actually competed in collegiate competitions with Zoe. They were a good team, but an immature Zoe was very focused on flattening both of them constantly. Even if people remember Kara most for being a milkshake, she can't deny the publicity led to her contract. It just means she puts in extra effort to shatter Zoe when they meet in a race.

She still works on her figure skating. She's gotten friendlier there, both after experiencing Zoe and just growing up a little. She's actually nice to younger fans, but don't cross her. She is a schemer, and won't hesitate to use a weakness against someone. She just needs to focus less on Zoe and keep an eye on Jess.

(Despite being team mates, Zoe and Kara were never a couple. Sure, they went to some of the same parties, but so did everybody.)

(Lines by Samarkana ) Bella of the Icicles (Lines by Samarkana) by flexiblepeople

Bella favors darker clothing, with chains for accessories. She has a reputation as a bad driver for squishing too many people, but she's usually aiming for them on purpose. Bella is a pretty good driver when she wants to be.

Bella's chains on her clothes also hints at her driving. She loves large trucks and vehicles with snow chains and similar things on tires, all the better to squish grooves and patterns into her targets when driving, so don't cross her.

Bella has a boyfriend with similar driving interests. They've even been known to squish each other with large tires on occasion.

* * *

The Blooming Boomers - Sophie, Tracy

Sophie has long blue hair, and a penchant for incendiary devices. She's so obsessed with explosives, she's been known to explode herself if she overheats. She rarely makes a league appearance in any capacity without disintegrating, whether she wants to or not.

She's a regular at any car racing event, but the bets aren't usually around where she places. They're over/under bets on how long until she explodes and dusts the track.

(Update late 2021 - lines by Samarkana)
Sophie of the Boomers (Lines by Samarkana) by flexiblepeople

She can't actually produce fire, but since Samarkana drew the little fireball in it would make sense if she's a bit of a pyro. There's a decent chance she's worked on making herself explode on purpose too. If you get angry enough to explode that often, might as well make lemonade and become the human explosions and fireworks expert. On top of that, she's come to enjoy the release blasting herself apart brings. Whether or not her friends appreciate the resulting fireball is another question.

How does Sophie leverage the ability to explode in matches? Carefully. Without a team mate to restore her ashes, it's not a great idea, especially if the opponent can just run away. But it's definitely a flashy ability, and it has given her a following.

---

Tracy has dark skin, deep reddish-black hair (the red highlights are dyed), usually in tight braids, and favors deep red, borderline dark pink clothes.

Tracy favors large metallic hammers for squishing others.

The Toy Tinkerers were conceived by ThatFlatUser :iconthatflatuser: , as part of a push to develop more characters. Almost everything about them are his, and they sound like a lot of fun and you should read up on them.

The funny story is that Grace, as a TF centric red head, was completely separately conceived by him and Samarkana on the same weekend, so she went from being a one off sketch to full character.
