The water sparkled in the sunset. Amber and her friends were on a rented fishing boat, relaxing far away from the noisy city on their off day. Like most fishing trips, nothing was biting, but everyone was having a good time. Amber, Scarlett, and Jess spent most of the day chatting. As the sun set, they were still trying to catch something, but running out of things to talk about. Zoe was sunbathing on a lounge chair most of the day, but she had long since melted away in the sunlight.Amber smiled, looking at her love and at the sunset. She was still impressed Scarlett saw Zoe melt and only half collapsed on the deck herself. "Have you caught anything yet?"
Scarlett snuggled into her. "Nope. Just enjoying the rocking of the waves." She put her head on Amber's shoulder and tugged on her fishing rod.
"Better luck next time I guess." Amber scratched Scarlett's head in return, then pointed at the horizon. "Just look at this beautiful sunset. There are so many colors in the clouds."
"Mmmmm...Don't make me think about joining Zoe again."
The waves made gentle noises against the boat.
"Hey! Get a room over there!" Jess called from across the deck before giving a hearty laugh. She tossed her fishing rod aside while walking to the stairs going inside the ship. "I'm going to get a mop to clean up Zoe, then work on getting food before we sail back."
Amber smirked. "Sail? You know the boat has an engine right?"
Jess shrugged. "Whatever. Point is Zoe needs to make dinner and unless we're having milkshakes..." she gestured at her puddled girlfriend, "She's gotta wake up. I'll be right back with a bucket."
Jess went below the deck. The two lovebirds sighed and enjoyed each other's presence for a few minutes, almost falling asleep against one another.
Amber's fishing rod jerked in her hands.
"Whoa!" Amber grabbed the pole, but Scarlett fell overboard, splashing into the water.
Amber braced herself against the side of the ship. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! Scarlett, are you okay?!"
Scarlett surfaced in the water, spitting water into the air but treading water. "I'm okay, catch us dinner babe!"
Amber heard clattering behind her. A map and a bucket were bouncing on the ship where Jessica was standing. "I leave you two for one minute and the action finally starts?"
Amber grunted instructions while fighting with whatever was attached to her line. "Jess, get Scarlett out of the water. I am NOT losing this one."
Jess watched Amber turning red, pulling and straining against the ship's side. She made sure Scarlett was okay in the water, then casually found a rope while watching the struggle.
Amber was determined to get this catch. Her whole body suddenly got bigger, stretching out her tank top and creating small tears in her shorts. She was twice her normal height, seeming unaware of the change, and flexing her new strength to tear her line out of the sea.
"YYYYYYYYYYYYAAAH!"
Amber gave one more tug, and a huge whale flew out of the water. It was easily twice the size of the boat. It was trying to jump over the boat, but Amber was standing near the edge, directly in its path.
Amber's eyes bugged out, and she lost whatever rush led to her size boost. She was terrified of the monster in front of her.
"Holy..."
Her mouth flew wide open to scream.
"WHAAAAAA!!-OOOMMMMMMFFF!"
And the whale jumped right in.
Scarlett and Jess watched the whale bury itself in their team mate's mouth and take her flying into the air. Amber's body stretched out behind her in the air, growing to accommodate its new guest. Her head grew to a huge size, followed by her torso. Her arms were next, getting bigger but also flatter. Her fingers disappeared into her arms, quickly becoming a giant pair of fins. Her stomach got stretched out as the whale was swallowed, before her legs started fusing together. Her shorts stretched down her legs as they combined into one big fish tail. The weirdest feeling for her was her feet, sticking together while flattening out into a giant blue tail.
Amber was clearly not ready for this, falling with a look of baffled confusion on her new face. "Ooooh...too....much..."
Fortunately they cleared the boat, landing in the water on the other side.
*SPLAAAAAASH*
Everyone on the boat was drenched.
Scarlett, mostly up Jessica's rope, slowly climbed over the rail. She looked at Jess, feeling very confused.
"Did you see...?"
Jessica nodded slowly. "Yeah. I didn't think she had it in her."
"WHY AM I FLOWING ACROSS THE DECK?!"
They turned to see a half formed Zoe. She was half out of her puddle, but waterlogged from the big splash, looking more like a slime girl than her normal self.
*SPLASH*
A giant whale tried to flop back onto the deck, landing right on top of Zoe. Zoe's black inky body splashed out from underneath, drops of her sinking into the deck all over.
Unlike the whale from earlier, this one had peach skin and a yellow coloration that matched up with Amber's hair and shirt. It looked around and tested its fins against the deck, lifting its body into the air a few feet.
A painting of a mermaid Zoe, with a black tail and black seashells, was on the deck beneath her.
Amber's voice came from its mouth. "Uuuuuh....girls? I think I turned into a whale."
Scarlett stared wide eyed at her girlfriend. "I didn't know you could get that big. If I knew you could get transformed like that..."
She seemed to get woozy just thinking about it. Scarlett spun in circles, trying to maintain her balance, before falling back into the water.
Jess looked overboard at her. "Yup, she's a red puddle on the sea."
"Whoops. Hang on."
Amber the whale pushed off the boat back into the sea. The ship rocked violently, making Jessica fear it would capsize. Once she was sure she had her balance, she looked at the Zoe painting on the floor.
"You okay down there babe?"
Zoe's painting lost its lusty facial expression and turned to anger. "Yeah I'm not falling overboard from here, figure out how we ended up with a whale on board. And tell her to watch it next time!"
Jess stuck out her tongue and ran back to Scarlett's side of the ship. A dark murky figure was rising through the water beneath her puddle.
Amber's booming voice came from the sea. "Okay, here goes nothing."
Scarlett's face was coming together on top of the puddle when the whirlpool of water began. "WHAAAAAAAAAA!"
Scarlett and several gallons of water were drawn into the whale's mouth. Scarlett's features stretched and spun around on the surface before draining into the whale.
Jess looked more than a little worried on the ship. "Oh no, please don't give us two roommates fused with a whale."
Amber made a noise that Jess figured approximated a huff, then lowered her blow hole at the ship.
*FWSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHH*
Scarlett's goopy red body sprayed out of Amber towards Jess. Not having time to react, Jess closed her eyes as her face was bombarded by her team mate. The force of the blast scrunched up her nose, denting her face in until she fell backwards.
Fortunately, most of Scarlett landed on the ship, both an opportunity to recover their normal bodies.
Scarlett's puddle glooped together, making waves of red ooze punch into the air, before SHLLLRRRRRPing back to normal.
She was holding her forehead, but smiling. "AGAIN!"
Before Scarlett could jump back into the water, Jessica grabbed her by the shirt. "Hang on Captain Melts a Lot. We need to figure out how we're getting Amber home."
Amber trumpeted from the water. "I think my new friend here wants to go home too. I think it has an idea? It's hard to understand what it's doing sometimes and....oh no..."
Scarlett shouted back "Are you okay Amber?!"
Amber looked surprised and somewhat sick. "Yeah, just fine. Just...get the nets ready."
Jessica and Scarlett looked at each other and shrugged. Then they heard the telltale hiss of water filling something.
Amber's whale body was bloating. If a whale could go crosseyed, she did. More and more water poured into her already huge body, until she doubled in size and towered over the ship.
Her twisted face muttered a warning to her friends. "You might want to get...down."
Scarlett said "Huh?" as Jess pulled her to the deck.
*SPLOOOOOOOOOOOSH*
Amber burst in a spectacular splash of water. Inside her, the original whale was firing water out of its blow hole. It tooted happily to celebrate its freedom, and swam away.
Jessica looked over the edge at the tatters of Amber floating in the sea. "Welp, that's going to take some time. Scarlett, do you want to fish out your girl friend or mop up mine."
"Mop up...oh that mermaid..."
"Scarlett?"
Jess looked at the new red puddle on the deck. Jess sighed and got the nets to collect Amber. "We can't take you anywhere can we. Someone here owes me a drink tonight after I'm done!"
