Sonia and the Goddess Arienhae stepped through a portal, stepping on to a rarely used side street of Sonia's home town. Sonia was stretching her arms, had a huge smile on her face, and some excitement in her step. "Thanks for the tour Arienhae! I didn't know there were so many other worlds out there."
Arienhae nodded. "Yes. So many beautiful views, so much great food. After what we put you through, I thought showing you around some of the other universes would be the least we could do. You already had that glimpse of them, so I'm glad you took this opportunity to actually see them."
Sonia's smile was beaming. "It was so much fun! The views were great! I got to walk around so huge for so long, and for once nobody chased me around afterwards." She turned the the Goddess, clasping her hands. "We HAVE to do this again someday."
"We definitely will. Until then Sonia," Arienhae put a hand on her shoulder, "PLEASE try not to outgrow your planet?"
Sonia's fists thrust down defensively. "Hey! I have pretty good control! It's getting better with our practice, and now I know to be careful when there's too much divine energy. I didn't even know what that felt like a few weeks ago and-...Oh! I'm going to be late for my photo shoot at the plant! I'll see you later." Sonia waved, and ran towards the factory.
"Good luck Sonia!" Arienhae returned the wave as Sonia hurried away. "Well, as long as I'm here, I guess I could grab something to eat. Earth does have good food. I haven't had any dumplings in a while."
She turned to cross the street, and had to jump back as a car sped past. "Oh! I thought pilots were better than that here. What is going on?...Oh no!"
She saw a woman with deep red hair and an ice blue shirt crossing the street. A truck was barreling towards her, and it was not slowing down. Arienhae wanted to save her, but she reacted slowly.
*WHAM*
The poor woman was flattened 10 feet long onto the pavement. Her eyes were spinning.
"Wait, I know how to fix this, hang on!" Arienhae felt bad, but she could at least undo this. She would use her powers as a Goddess to spare her, and...
How was she still moving?
The woman's eyes blinked twice, and the swirls disappeared, bringing back the red head's light blue eyes. "Oh, it's okay. This is the second time this happened to me today. My friends say I need to pay more attention on the streets, but at least I'm getting better at recovering!"
Much to Arienhae's surprise, the woman pulled her floppy arm off the pavement, and brought her hand her lips. Her cheeks puffed up as she blew. Her limbs popped off the ground one at a time. Her face turned red, the rest of her body shook, and *POP* she returned herself to three dimensions.
"Thanks for being here to help though. I'm glad I did it myself this time!" The strange woman waved, and went on her way.
"How could she? People in Sonia's universe can't..." The realization dawned on Arienhae. "Oh no! This isn't Sonia's universe at all, it's the toony one next to it!"
The Goddess rubbed her temples, thinking about what this meant. "I think the rules will apply to Sonia, but the way her body hungers for new abilities...I need to find her immediately."
* * *
Sonia ran towards the factory. She knew her job was safe since there weren't many 50 foot tall models, but didn't want to make everyone in the crew wait too long. She took some back roads, and made herself just a little taller to save time with bigger strides. She shrank herself back to normal size just before arriving.
The crew was already set up. "Hi everyone! Sorry I'm late, I had a big appointment before this. Where do you need me?"
"There you are!" The director waved her over and pointed to the large screen on the side of the building. "Let's go Sonia! We can't keep the crew here all day! Just like we planned, I need you big, and I need you over there."
Sonia rolled her eyes. They were always in a hurry. "Okay, just a sec."
She noticed the side of the building was one giant green canvas, surrounded by a wooden frame. "Hey, are we doing a green screen today?"
"Yeah. They want to put you in front of a whole bunch of different of backgrounds. Beaches, jungles, all the stuff we don't have any budget to travel to. Anyway, you know the drill, let's grow!"
Sonia shrugged and got in front of the fifty foot screen. She closed her eyes to draw on the power dwelling within her. A soft gold light surrounded her, and she felt herself growing larger. She kept that feeling inside her and strutted across the building.
"Yes! More of that!" Flashbulbs went off as Sonia grew and posed in front of the screen. She loved these photo shoots. They were a chance to get big, and not worry about showing off. She leaned back, arms crossed behind her head. She leaned in towards the camera, playfully sticking out her tongue. Sonia continued playfully moving around the screen, until she was almost as tall as the building itself.
"Okay, great Sonia! We just need one more at this height! Just lean back against the wall and look sexy."
Sonia leaned back seductively. This was one of the easier directors she had a chance to work with, but she was getting tired. As good as growing felt, her universe hopping trip took more out of her than she thought. She searched for the warm glow deep inside her, and used that feeling to smile and grow to 45 feet.
"Yes! Hold that look, right there!" The director stood up and walked around, looking through his hands framing Sonia. He nodded one more time, and yelled at the building. "Now! Release the cover frame!"
Sonia broke the pose, looking confused. *Cover frame?*
A large clear panel swung around from the rooftop like a mouse trap, flipping over onto Sonia. In all of her appearances, nobody was ever foolish enough to attack a giantess before! She winced and closed her eyes, bracing for impact, hoping she was big enough to brush this off.
*WHAM*
Whatever that wall was made out of, it stung, but Sonia was still breathing. Why would this director do something like this? Whatever he was thinking, Sonia was going to have a few words with him later. Probably from a few hundred feet higher. She kept her eyes closed and reached for the warm glow of her growth again, but something felt strange.
She couldn't grow to push the glass off of her.
She didn't feel the crushing frame move away at all. She could feel her body covering more of the building as if she was getting taller, but it felt more like she was spreading out against it. She grunted to fuel her growth faster, and her arms felt fresh air. She reached for the frame to push it away, but she was fighting a stiff breeze to do it. Her forearms felt...wobbly?
"Yes! More of that! Let those limbs fly in the wind!"
Sonia finally thought to open her eyes. She couldn't move her head, but she could look side to side at her arms.
They were...flat?
This didn't make any sense! Sure, neither did any tale of a 60 foot tall woman until not long ago, but she never heard of another giantess getting...squished?...like this.
Sonia needed answers. "What the hell is this?! What did you do?!"
The director was smiling, but the joyful look on his face was lacking malice. He seemed genuinely satisfied. "Sonia, this was same thing we did last week! The only thing we changed was the green screen so we can show off your wonderful floppy body at those other locations. Focus group feedback wanted to see you flying in the sea breeze at the beach, so we're bringing it to the factory!"
Sonia tried to tilt her head. It smeared against the glass a little, but didn't move far. *What? Last week? My vacation was last week.*
"I wasn't even here last week! And why am I flat?!"
The director's expression finally shifted to concern. He scratched his head, pausing to think through his response. "Why are you flat? Sonia, you know from your experience here that floppy girls sell! You being a natural giant, without us needing to stretch you out, has always been great for business."
Sonia fought the wind to bring her huge floppy arms, bigger than most flags, in front of her face. "Floppy girls? How did we even do this?!"
The director turned to speak with his assistants. "Are you sure everything is okay with the squisher? Is she getting enough air in there? We were here last week right?"
His assistants nodded. "Yes sir. We tested it ourselves."
The director scratched his head. "Hmm...we better release the frame. Something feels wrong about this. It's almost like..."
They looked at Sonia tugging at the glass, trying to not smear her body as she wiggled out from under it. "I've never been flattened like this before! Let me out!"
The director looked for his staff on top of the factory, and nodded. They lifted the panel back onto the roof, releasing Sonia.
"WHOOOOOOOA!"
As soon as the pressure was released, she flopped to the ground in a heap. Her knees bent back so her shirt touched her converse shoes, her stomach folded up against her elbows. She was folded several times over on the ground, shaking as she fought to stand up.
The crew helped unfurl her face. It took four of them to hold it up and stretch it to its full ten feet across.
The on site nurse was out to speak with her. "Sonia, are you okay? I know I've seen you handle these situations before. Can't you just pop back to normal?"
"What the hell are you talking about?! This is beyond weird!"
The nurse's concerned grew when he looked at Sonia's big green eyes. He stared into her gaze for several seconds before turning to the others. "I think she's being sincere everyone. Whether or not Sonia has done this before, she does not believe she has. Someone grab the pump. We're going to restore Sonia manually, then make sure she's okay."
The director put his crew into motion, unfolding Sonia to get pumped up, and told everyone they were on break.
* * *
It took the crew several minutes to unfurl Sonia across the parking lot. Because she had grown so large, it took a few more minutes to fill her with enough air to have any real depth to her body again. She felt her body filling up, floppy limbs feeling strangely separated in their half deflated state. Eventually she felt some resistance, and willed her body to push through. Her body snapped back into shape with a comically loud *POP* sound.
It was easily one of the most surreal experiences of her life.
One of the medics gave her oversized shoulders a few pats. “There, good as new. Feeling better Sonia?”
“Uh, I think so?” Sonia flexed her limbs to make sure everything still worked.
The medic smiled. “I’m glad you got yourself back to normal in the end. We would have been here for a while otherwise.”
“Yeah...” Sonia still wasn’t sure what was going on. “Hey, do you mind if I take a break and enjoy the view? I didn’t sleep great last night.”
“That sounds like a good idea. Take a minute, gather your thoughts, and we’ll check on you after. I’ll go find some water for you too, it’s getting pretty hot up here.”
"Thanks!" The fifty foot Sonia stood up, careful not to step on anyone, and walked across the lot.
Sonia's mind was still racing. She sat down in the parking lot, leaning against the other side of the building, and tried to relax. She did have a great view of the city from the factory site on top of the hill.
She was stepping through everything that happened to her today. The tour, then this photo shoot. Everything felt pretty normal, but getting squished was weird. She wasn't violent, and nobody was crazy enough to attack a woman that could grow hundreds of feet in an instant. Just how did she get flattened? She not only got crushed by this crew, but they seemed to think this was perfectly normal! It was like a cartoon or something, like that one universe they stopped at...
Her train of thought came to a screeching halt. There *was* a universe with strange physics in her tour that morning. Arienhae even squished herself into a large spinning coin for fun there, saying anyone could do it. Sonia didn't try anything at the time, but...
She looked closer at the tiny people running through the city below. She saw people getting hit by cars, squished into decals on the pavement, then popping off the ground and walking it off. She saw gardeners lose control of their hoses, swell to impossible sizes, explode in bursts of water, and swirl back together as if nothing happened. Everyone she saw having what should have been devastating accidents just got back up and dusted themselves off.
What the heck was going on here?
Sonia realized she was sweating. She was sitting in the sun too long watching the world below, and forgot to get anything to drink. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, and felt something sticky. She looked at her hand to see what it picked up, and saw strands of pale skin stretching from her arm back to her head. She could feel the cool breeze across all of it.
Was this another of this universe's properties? Was she melting?!
Sonia looked down at the black asphalt of the parking lot she was sitting in. Waves of heat rose into the air under the relentless summer sun.
She also saw what was left of her legs.
A shiny pool of bright blue goop was where her Converse shoes should have been. The bottom halves of her legs were spreading into pink puddles. Her skirt was an even bigger black puddle, slowly getting overlapped by her hips and tummy oozing across them. Sonia tried to sit up, and felt her body smushing against the walls, leaving pink streaks where she tried to push. This was too crazy.
She paused to catch her breath and thinking this through. If she could master growth, she would just have to master this. She was already flattened today, and from what she saw, the other denizens of this realm dealt with this all the time.
*Okay,* she thought to herself, *If I can't get up to walk off the pavement, I'll just have to grow my way out.*
Sonia looked deep inside herself for growth. Despite her body's condition, it was easy to find.
She willed herself bigger.
Her body grew. Her head reached new heights above the building, blowing past past the roof. She felt the cool refreshing mist of a cloud on her face, the breeze fluttering through her hair...but something felt wrong. Her hair felt heavy in the wind. She reached up to brush the clouds, but her dripping arm clawed at empty air just beneath them. She looked down.
*Oh no! I didn't just get taller...*
Sonia's lower half was a huge gooey mess, spreading out as she tried to grow. Her legs were completely melted up to her waist, only her knees peeked out of the puddle. Bits of her hair and fingers dripped down, making small ripples through her when they splashed down. She flooded the factory parking lot over an inch deep, pink goo still rising and filling more and more of the area as she grew.
*This has to be a weird dream...but it does feel nice.*
She felt strangely relaxed as she dripped to the ground. She wouldn't have ever imagined this feeling comfortable, but it reminded her of a hot stone massage. The warmth of the pavement was cutting right through her, stress quite literally melting away. Maybe this was just a strange dream, maybe it was watching old cartoons on TV that morning, but she would figure things out later.
Sonia gave in to the relaxing feeling. She was too tired out to fight it any longer.
She hugged herself, enjoying the heat against her stomach as it spread into the puddle beneath her. She accepted the warmth of the sun, and felt her hair and shoulders drip and flow down her blouse. There was enough Sonia pooling up that she threatened to overflow the curb and cascade down the mountain. She leaned forward, splashing into herself. She completely lost her form on contact, her torso breaking against herself and splashing everywhere, changing completely into a giant pool of melted woman.
It was exhilarating. Sonia could feel everything around her, consciousness and senses flowing everywhere within her. Her eyes bumped up against the edge of the lot, and she thought about the view again.
*What would it would feel like to actually become the mountain river?*
She tugged at her gooey body, willing it out of the lot. Waves of Sonia goop splashed weakly against the curb, but nothing escaped to the hillside. It was too high.
She needed to be bigger if she wanted to flow out.
Gold light surrounded the puddle of Sonia. Her gooey body grew, and some bubbled over the the tiny constraints of pavement. She used those bits to pull the rest of her to the edge. Her face appeared on the surface, staring down the mountainside.
It sloped for hundreds of feet, before a small spring interrupted the fall. She could collect herself in there.
Sonia *needed* to experience this. She dragged her blobby body towards the edge.
She cascaded down the mountain as a wave of pink, green eyes, splashes of amber hair, and Converse blue. She crashed into trees and rocks as she flowed, reveling in the sensation of her body coating the mountainside.
Sonia felt the natural uneven slopes of the land diverting her flow towards the spring, as if the dips of the mountainside formed a riverbed to direct her path, but she refused to be contained. Sonia instinctively grew even larger to fight it without even thinking. Waves of pink splashed against her riverbanks. She reveled in her growth, her volume increasing to overcome the slopes, and freely flow any way she wanted down the mountain.
She was huge, she was unstoppable, and for once she wasn't destroying half the mountain she traveled on. Sonia didn't even care that she was essentially a giant pile of goo, she could figure out how to get solid later. For now, she was the river, enjoying the feel of everything on the slope.
* * *
Before Sonia knew it, she was diving into the mountain spring.
*SPLASH*
She cascaded into the lake, layers of pink building up on top before splashing and mixing with the water. Humongous pink waves accompanied her arrival, the sheer volume the giantess enough to fill this pond to its limits.
Crashing into the water was disorienting. It took time before Sonia's face coalesced on the surface.
She had the biggest smile. *Oh wow...what a rush! I need to ask Arienhae about this later. Why did we waste time walking around today when we could have done this?*
The waves on her surface didn't calm down for several moments. When they did, Sonia thought about her next move. She tried to lift up an arm, hoping one would simply form.
She barely created a ripple.
*Okay, I need to get myself out of here somehow...but this still feels great. If I survived that, I guess I can relax here for a while. I've had too much excitement today.*
Sonia closed her eyes and tried to relax. Her face shimmered and disappeared into herself, and she fell asleep in the sun and warm water.
* * *
After sleeping in the sun for at least an hour, bubbles appeared on Sonia's surface. They were big ones, filled with warm air. Compared to her size, one or two were nothing, but the steady stream of bubbles was appearing covered her entire surface. It did not take much time before steam started rising.
Sonia didn't realize was this was a natural hot spring before resting. While she was sleeping, Sonia actually started boiling from the combined heat of the sun and the spring. She was a bubbling pond of pink goo, boiling off into a monstrous cloud.
A few minutes later, a large cloud of Sonia was floating through the sky. She was mostly a pink matching her blouse, but splashes of blue shoes and brown hair floated through her.
She napped floating in the air for hours before waking up. *Wow, that was a weird dream. I need to watch less TV. What made me imagine getting flattened and melting and...why can't I feel my arms stretching?*
Sonia's green eyes appeared on the outside of the cloud, and blinked a few times. Seeing the ground hundreds of feet beneath her, and not able to feel anything standing on it, they bugged out to huge sizes in a wild take. *Why am I flying through the clouds?!*
It took Sonia a moment to realize she herself was one of those clouds she loved to grow tall enough to touch.
*How did I...am I still dreaming?! Maybe I can just grow to the ground...*
Sonia focused, and again felt her growth burning like a fire within her. Just like her puddle form, growth enhanced the size of her current transformation.
Pink vapor multiplied and expanded out, and the cloud of Sonia grew larger.
*This can't be right. I'm supposed to brush clouds aside, not be one. What do I even do now?! Maybe I can just grow out of this.*
Sonia kept expanding, and her cloudy body got closer to the ground. Energy filled her, and the blue mist of her Converse shoes actually did touch the ground. Only then did Sonia remember something important.
Clouds that touched the ground became tornadoes.
* * *
Pink mist started twirling and spinning as Sonia's body became a whirlwind. Trees bent in her winds as she stormed past. She could feel the power swelling and swirling within her, as her mind succumbed to the urge to be the storm. She was just aware enough to realize she was still in the middle of no where, so she didn't have to hold back. Anyone looking would have seen a growing whirlwind of Sonia's peach and pink colors, green eyes staring out in all directions.
She could be the biggest storm these lands had ever seen.
Sonia spun faster, unable to resist the allure of being a hurricane. She kicked up dirt and sent boulders flying. As she grew larger, her winds grew stronger. She must have been hundreds of feet tall, juggling logs and stones and fallen trees. She reached the beach, adding sand and shells to the collection swirling within her.
When Sonia went over the sea, another rush of power hit her. She wasn't touching her power anymore, but she felt herself growing anyway. The warmth of the waters made her pick up speed. She felt towering waves emanating from her whirlwind, rushing out in all directions. Lightning cracked through the sky around her, and Sonia thought for a moment she might be able to wield it. She cackled, and her voice echoed across the plains,
"THIS IS AWESOME!!!"
She wanted to hold that powerful feeling forever, but all good things must come to an end. The sun was setting, and Sonia was unable to maintain her powerful form as the temperature dropped. Robbed of energy, she naturally shrank back to being just a normal cloud. The boulders she was carrying fell into the sea, and she felt her pink mist condensing into a swirl of melted droplets.
She was tired from storming, tired from her adventure, and the urge to rain down was strong. She needed a place to land before she rained into the ocean.
Sonia searched the horizons. There was a city not too far away. She picked out a large house with a decent size pool behind it that gave her a strange sense of deja vu. It was big enough to hold her if she shrank a little bit. She only needed to ride the winds long enough to get there...
* * *
A young woman in a blue swimsuit and blond hair stared at the dark cloud blocking the sky. She stood besides the pool Sonia was drifting towards with her friend, a red haired woman.
"But Ally! You said it wouldn't rain today!"
"I know Phoebe, that storm came out of no where. Short summer storms like this come and go all the time though. I have a feeling we can wait this storm out."
Ally and Phoebe studied the strange cloud. Phoebe was sad she couldn't go swimming yet, but Ally was more curious about the strange colors of the storm. Those colors didn't look like any weather she had ever seen. Whoever this was, Ally wanted to ask how to have fun as that big of a rain cloud.
The sound of thunder boomed in their ears, and a curiously small storm raged around them. Pink rain poured from the sky into their pool. Patches of red and green raid fell along the way, and once the rain stopped, a solid pair of Converse sneakers fell, splashing into whoever was filling it.
With the storm finished, Ally cautiously stepped towards the water. "Phoebe, give me a minute. I think you will get to swim after all."
The pink water rippled, and a face formed on the surface. Sonia blinked, realizing she was filling the backyard pool all by herself, stuck her gooey state. She looked around and noticed the red haired woman studying her.
"Oh...Hi? I'm Sonia. I need some help and...You look really familiar. Do I know you?"
Ally shrugged "I'm still not sure if any of our meetings are canon. Are you okay in there? Do you need anything? We were hoping to go swimming before you...well...stormed in."
Sonia smiled at the strange if friendly woman. "I'm...honestly not sure? First I got flattened against a building. I've never seen anyone melt like this before, and now I'm a swimming pool? This has just been a really weird day. Does this happen to people here often?"
"You never???..." Ally raised an eyebrow. "Didn't they teach you how to recover from these things growing up?"
Sonia blinked. *Oh, right, they wouldn't know about other universes.*
"Uuuh, I was never that good at it. Could you help get me out of here and I can call one of my friends an-"
"WHEEEEEE!"
*SPLASH*
Phoebe cannonballed into the Sonia pool. The waves distorted Sonia's face, blending in with the rest of her.
"Phoebe! I was talking to the lady you just jumped into! Don't be rude to our guest, I think she's lost."
Phoebe floated on her back. She looked a little embarrassed, but she wasn't trying to get out of the pool either. "But Allyyyyy! She's so nice and warm! This is a great temperature!"
Ally ran a finger through Sonia, and smiled. "Heh, you're right, she feels great. *Sigh* I'm going to get a restoration beam. Once we're done with a quick swim, we're helping her out. Something isn't quite right here."
* * *
*ZAP*
The pool water swirled, shrinking and funneling into a large whirlpool, before coalescing into Sonia's normal, regular sized shape.
"Whew...thank you! I don't think I caught your name."
Ally shook her hand. "Allison. Everyone calls me Ally."
"Thank you Ally. This might be a weird question, but where am I?"
A portal opened behind them, and the Goddess Arienhae's voice came through. "Sonia Enders, there you are! I've been looking all over for you!"
Ally looked at Sonia. "Is this your friend?"
Sonia nodded. "I was wondering if you were coming back for me. What happened?!"
"So, uuuh," Arienhae rubbed her head, like an embarrassed child who knew they were in trouble. "I think we're in a cartoon universe. It's almost exactly like yours, except, well..."
Sonia walked over to the pool, and collected her Converse shoes and the last drops of herself. "That explains a lot. I was still hoping this was all just a dream." She walked back towards Arienhae. "You make a lot of strange places."
Phoebe whispered in Ally's ear. "Ally, what are they talking about?"
Ally put an arm around Phoebe's shoulders. "They're just wrapping this up. Don't worry, let's go dry off. I think we'll get to play with Sonia more later."
Phoebe waved as they walked back into the mansion. "Bye Sonia! Thanks for letting us swim in you!"
Ally waved too. "Come back again some time! You're always welcome!"
Sonia waved to her new friends, and turned back to Arienhae "So, can I go home now? I've had a really long day, and I didn't really plan on melting and becoming a hurricane."
"You...what?" Arienhae sighed. "I was afraid something like that might happen. I guess you're already a giant amongst your friends anyway."
"Huh? What were you afraid of?" Sonia was confused.
"It's hard to explain..." The Goddess scrunched her face and scratched her head, searching for a good explanation. "Every universe can impart power to its visitors. You had some interesting experiences here, so my guess is your body might remember some of these tricks when you return home."
They walked through the portal, emerging outside Sonia's house in her world.
Sonia was curious what Arienhae meant. "What do you mean by tricks?"
"Simply put, look out for falling objects."
"Huh? Why? Wait..." Sonia stopped outside her door, the realization dawning on her. "You don't mean?"
Arienhae flicked her wrist, and the door flew open.
"OOMPH!"
*SQUISH!*
"You may be a master of your growth, but until recover from this, avoid lifting heavy objects."
The door swung shut, revealing Sonia plastered to the wall. Her eyes were narrow, an irritated expression written on her face. There was a loud "SSHHHLLLLRRRRRP" sound as her head peeled off the wall.
The Goddess finished peeling Sonia off the wall and walked her inside. "So either be more mindful of your surroundings, or keep your new friends on speed dial."
