Lydia Greenwood set her phone down on the book she’d already discarded, somewhat shell shocked by the call she’d just finished. It was an unfamiliar and frankly unwelcome feeling for a woman who was normally as in control and on top of things as she was. She prided herself on it. And yet this particular call from her daughter Samantha had taken her completely by surprise.
Sighing in exasperation, Lydia rose from her position on the couch. Her naked human puppy slave Cupcake jolted from her position atop the hem of her night robe as she did so, climbing down from the couch as Lydia marched forward. The two other puppies, the latex covered Baxer and the dusky skinned Princess, also unfroze from where they were laying on the carpet to follow at their Mistress’ heels.
None of them made a sound. Real dogs might start yipping or barking if their owner moved so abruptly. These dogs knew better than that. As well-trained as Lydia’s puppy slaves were, they remained human enough to read a room and could see that Lydia was not in the mood to hear them yapping as she strode through her home in her fuzzy slippers in search of her husband.
Charles Greenwood was in the expansive living room and resting easy on the couch. One of his bunnies, a redhead in a forest green teddy, was nestled comfortably at his side and delightfully wriggling beneath his playfully grasping hands. Another bunny, this one a busty blonde in baby blue, was curled up on herself on the floor to serve as a footrest for Charles.
On the massive TV screen was a livestream coming from a heavily encrypted website. Two figures, a man and a woman, stood chained to a ceiling facing each other from several yards away. Their wrists were locked and held high above both their heads and their ankles were bound to steel spreader bars. The young lady wore a lovely pink gown and black gloves while her date was dressed in the tattered remnants of a suit. Newlyweds, snatched up by the website’s producers while traveling home from their honeymoon. Both wore massive ring gags and were struggling and moaning desperately for release. Soon one of the site’s dominants would be stepping onscreen to break the recently abducted pair into their new lives for the viewing pleasure of paying customers like Charles.
Lydia predicted her husband would last at most five minutes into the livestream before he had one of those bunnies lowering her head between her legs. She might join him and have one of her puppies doing the same for her. A little bit of stress relief sounded lovely at that point.
But first they needed to talk.
“Charles, did you put a spending limit on Samantha’s accounts?”
Charles looked over from his spot on the couch, one eyebrow raised in both surprise and mild confusion. His hand was frozen mid-squeeze on the redhead’s chest.
“Yes, a few months ago.”
“Without telling me?”
He frowned. “I’m positive I told you about it.”
“No Charles, you did not.” Lydia left her spot at the doorway to circle around the couch and face him more directly. “I absolutely would have remembered if you told me about it.”
“Are you sure? I could swear I told you when I did it, but—oh right. You were off at the ranch that week.” He set the redheaded bunny aside and took his legs off the blonde so he could sit up. “I meant to tell you, but I also had a lot going on at the time. It must have slipped my mind. I’m sorry.”
Lydia’s only response was a long, drawn out sigh. One of her puppies, Princess, drew as close as she dared behind her owner.
“You always hate it when I interrupt you on one of your trips!
“You didn’t tell Samantha about it either.”
“What? Of course not. She doesn’t need that kind of thing hanging over her head when she’s having fun.”
Lydia glared at him. “I’m sure that knowing about a spending limit wouldn’t have ruined her fun half as much as being cut off when she reached it did.”
That stopped Charles short. He was silent for several seconds. Then he muted the TV, stood, and faced his wife directly. “Did you just say she reached her spending limit? When?”
“Fifteen minutes ago, apparently. I just got off the phone with her about it. I can’t even remember the last time she’s been that furious at me, Charles, and it wasn’t even for something I did! I do not appreciate being blindsided like—”
“How?”
Now it was Lydia’s turn to stop short. “Excuse me?”
“How did she reach the spending limit?”
Lydia blinked, unsure for several seconds how she was supposed to answer a question with such an obvious answer. “I didn’t ask, but I can only assume she reached it by spending money. I think she said she was at an auction, but–”
“Lydia, do you have any idea how high I set this limit?”
The Greenwood matriarch felt something cold form in her gut. Her puppies and her husband’s bunnies alike were staring wide-eyed on the edges of her peripheral vision.
“...No.”
Charles told her.
For once, Lydia Greenwood was at a loss for words.
