We’ve been having some issues with the Yor dress, so we’ll be wearing the One Piece costumes we wore last year
Miranda read the text again. It was the most substantial message she’d gotten from her friend Astrid all morning. For the last few hours all she’d been getting was the occasional single word response and the number of the room she was going to be sharing with Astrid and her niece Britta.
Were costume issues really the problem? Miranda was trying to wait until she actually made it to the room and talked to Astrid before she let herself get too annoyed. There was no reason to assume the worst.
Sighing, Miranda lowered her phone and leaned back against the elevator, glancing at her vague reflection of mostly white, green, and small amounts of black in the opposite wall.
C.C. from Code Geass was one of Miranda’s oldest and most accurate costumes. It was made up of two layers. The first, mostly unseen layer consisted of a comfortable crop top, simple booty shorts, and thigh-high boots. All in white. Only the boots were visible, and only from the knee down, since the outfit’s main, outer layer covered up most of her body.
Apart from the long, bright green wig covering Miranda’s natural brown hair, that outer layer consisted entirely of a full body straitjacket. It was as white as the underlayer, and while the sleeves were wide and loose it was fairly tight around the torso, hips, and legs above Miranda’s knees. Not quite figure hugging, but definitely flattering. Miranda wasn’t oblivious to the fact that C.C. tended to be one of her more eye-catching cosplays. It could be tight all the way down to her ankles if she wanted to zip the legs all the way. The zippers that ran up from her legs to her chest had originally been fuzzy gray piping before Miranda had tinkered with it enough to make them real, functional zippers.
Unlike Astrid, who dedicated so much time to creating numerous different cosplays, Miranda had a smaller rotation of them that she’d been improving and modifying for years. And in this particular case, the zippers weren’t the only functional part of the costume.
Several sets of belt loops were located at key points of the suit. The main and most prominent of them were positioned on Miranda’s chest, just under her breasts and with a matching set of loops at the same height on the upper sleeves. There were more belt loops around the thighs. And through both sets of belt loops were, of course, belts. Belts that could very easily be buckled together, pinning Miranda’s thighs together and her arms to her torso.
It was a straitjacket, after all.
The straps around the suit's high, full neck collar were decorative, as was the strap embedded into Miranda’s right shoulder. But the belts currently hanging loosely around her torso and knees? Those worked just fine. So were the shorter set of straps that could bind the end of the voluminous sleeves together. And the belt loops that were flimsy enough to rip through on pre-made C.C. costumes were sturdy enough on this hand-made C.C. costume to hold a strapped up cosplayer that was struggling to break them. Miranda had tested it.
She obviously didn’t go around advertising how easy it would be to bind her up in the middle of a busy anime convention. Miranda hadn’t even told Astrid about the costume's functional bondage feature. It was her dirty little secret, something that gave the cosplayer a secret thrill when she decided to go somewhere as C.C.
Miranda had originally been planning to wear her newest costume, Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect, if only because she got a kick out of going out as a character that shared her name. But since she knew she’d be spending a lot of time with Astrid and Britta at this con, she decided to switch to match them with an anime cosplay of her own. At least for the first day. She hadn’t even told Astrid yet, it was supposed to be a surprise.
Taking stock of herself in the slightly reflected wall of the elevator, Miranda reflected for the thousandth time how happy she was with the cosplay. A lot of work had gone into it over the years and she loved how it looked on her.
The elevator came to a stop. Miranda was already moving when the little “ding” sounded and the door opened. She squeezed past the trio of guys that were waiting to enter, thanked them for the compliments to her cosplay (they weren’t cosplayers themselves, but were obviously con-goers), and made her way to the room she was going to share with Astrid and Britta. She wanted her own room key before she went to retrieve her bags from her car.
The room number was 1229, and Miranda might have knocked harder than she normally would have. “Astrid? It’s Miranda. I came to get my room key. You’re in there, right? I’ve been trying to get more than one word out of you for hours.”
There was a split second where Miranda expected to hear a reply. That’s what Astrid would normally do. Or Britta, who could be a bit of a chatterbox. This would be the third con where Miranda shared a room with the aunt and niece pair.
Instead, the door opened halfway. Miranda had to push it the rest of the way open before it shut. Astrid, wearing her leather jacket and boots Nico Robin outfit from last year instead of the Tsunade cosplay she’d been talking about for months, already had her back turned and was walking into the room. She said nothing.
“Astrid! Is everything all right?” Miranda asked, or maybe demanded, as she stepped into the room herself. The heavy hotel door thudded shut behind her. “You’re acting weird, even over text, and–whoa!”
Before she knew it, Miranda found herself sandwiched between two large bodies. Two large male bodies who seemed to appear out of thin air. In a few minutes Miranda would look back and realize that one was hiding in the bathroom while the other was waiting behind the door. But at that specific moment, all Miranda could do was mentally wonder just WHAT THE HELL WAS HAPPENING!?
The men didn’t just stand there and crowd Miranda’s personal space. The one that was behind the door immediately had her upper arms in a vice grip while the one in front of her was shoving a goddamn RAG into her mouth.
“Whmm mmmgh? Gggmmmggh uuuufff!” She tried to cry out as she was hauled a few steps forward and dragged onto the bed, where the man holding her arms was now on top of her, one of his arms now pinning Miranda’s to her torso while the other one was still holding the rag in her mouth. She hadn’t even tried to spit it out in the scant few seconds that had passed since was forced in.
“Aauugh! UUhmmmmph! Mmmmph!” Miranda screamed, not even knowing what she was trying to say. She could barely breathe with the weight of a grown man holding her down, couldn't do anything substantial with her arms, and couldn’t even kick! Someone–the second man?–was holding her legs together as her ankles dangled over the edge of the bed, poking out between the legs of the man on top of her and… oh, gross. She could feel his third leg stiffening against her thigh.
And then Miranda noticed that someone was wrapping something around her booted ankles. She tried to look, but couldn’t see past the asshole’s hulking body. Or at least she couldn’t look down, but she eventually managed to squirm and maneuver her head to look to the side and see…
Britta’s Nami cosplay, but not Britta. The actual outfit (such as it was) looked familiar enough. Miranda had helped sew that pattern onto the green bra cups herself when they were damaged last year. But the face staring down at her from underneath the orange wig with a horrible smirk was emphatically NOT Astrid’s nineteen-year-old niece.
Astrid and Britta weren’t here. These pieces of shit had replaced them! And now they were tying her up! Oh God, what had they done with the real Astrid and Britta?!
The horrific shock of all these thoughts doused Miranda’s ability to struggle like a bucket of water on a tiny flame. Miranda fell silent and froze just as the hands that were tying her ankles together withdrew.
‘Nami’ chuckled and sneered. “I don’t think she’s going to give us any more trouble.”
“Probably not,” rumbled a deep voice just above Miranda’s ear. “She just went totally still.”
“I noticed,” came a third voice, this one belonging to another woman. Miranda’s eyes went very wide as its owner appeared at Nami’s side. And just like Nami, she was wearing an outfit that didn’t belong to her. Astrid’s Nico Robin costume.
Unlike Astrid, the woman was clearly more tan. Maybe even Latina? Mexican or Puerto Rican or Dominican or something? And her eyes… dark and cold. She was looking at Miranda like an animal that was being corralled. It made Miranda feel naked.
“Is my colleague right, Miranda? Are you done giving us trouble?”
Without needing to see it, Miranda abruptly understood that this woman had Astrid’s phone. Instead of her friend, this was the person who had been texting Miranda all day.
Unable to do much more than stare, Miranda somehow managed to make herself nod. Even if she wasn’t frozen stiff in terror, what could she do? It was four against one and her ankles were already bound together.
“Wonderful. Now hold still, and don’t you dare try to spit the cloth out of your mouth. That can be a little test. We’ll tie you much less harshly if you can keep it in. Behave yourself, and we’ll give you food and water more often too.”
A cold pit formed in Miranda’s stomach.
“Good girl,” said one of the men as they pulled themselves away from her, taking a second to give her ass a light smack as he did. Miranda didn’t react. She barely felt it. And as instructed, Miranda made no attempt to spit the rag out of her mouth. Nor did she try to sit up. She remained frozen in place at the mercy of these… these kidnappers!
“Hang on, I have a question,” spoke up the other man. All eyes went to him and the way he was casually pointing at the captive woman on the bed. “Do those belts you’re wearing work?”
Miranda’s eyes went wide.
Shit.
Minutes later, the C.C. straitjacket cosplay’s entirely functional belts were fastened tight around the poor woman’s torso and thighs, along with the rope that was binding her ankles together. More rope had been wrapped taut around her wrists behind her back and tape was used to ball up her hands into useless fists. And because a couple of the kidnappers were feeling playful, they fastened the straps of the sleeves together, hiding those bound and balled up hands from view. More tape had been wrapped around and around Miranda’s head–the hair of her wig was now taped flat against her cheeks–to keep the rag in and her voice muffled. Her collar too, had been pulled up to hide that from view.
She was sitting up and trapped in the grip of the woman wearing Britta’s Nami costume, who had wasted no time in sidling right up to the bound and gagged captive to feel her up. Both hands were casually, almost absently groping Miranda’s ass and one breast while the kidnapper they belonged to went on discussing plans to abduct more women with the other three.
Miranda squirmed, trapped into the bondage she’d built into her own costume.
She should have stuck with the Mass Effect cosplay.
8:14 P.M.
Things were going well. Maybe even a little too well. Dani was on edge. She had been against this whole harebrained scheme from the start, firmly of the opinion that it would have been better to stop with the aunt and niece. Those two were quality merchandise all on their own. Sure, the little moron who had worn a costume that was so easy to restrain was a quality piece too, but she could very easily be the only extra product the team would pick up all weekend. This operation built around impersonating the original targets and using their hotel room as a base to grab more… there were too many moving parts and so much that could go wrong. How could Dani not be on edge?
At least the costume fit. Dani still wasn't sure how the leather jacket and boots were supposed to be a pirate outfit. It seemed like more of a biker thing. But it was definitely helping Dani blend in. Plenty of people were wearing costumes, and a lot of them were very well made. She couldn’t say nobody was giving her a second glance, the ensemble was too sexy for that. Yet it wasn’t that big a deal, because Dani certainly wasn’t the only woman walking around looking sexy.
There was a Supergirl over there in a hot little red skirt and knee-high boots. Tall. Well-built. Definitely quality merchandise. So was the shorter, yet well-built black woman in the purple wig and orange long sleeved shirt along with the even more petite woman whose hair was styled in a black bob cut walking next to her a black bob cut. Or that redhead in the fake armor, skirt, and black boots. Or the well-built man with a blonde wig and colorful, primarily blue bodysuit he had on.
Dani was scouting. Making her way around the hotel, scanning for possible targets to snatch and sell. There were more of them than she was expecting, but too many of them were in groups. Groups were a risk. The whole plan was a risk. Too many variables. The potential rewards were high, yes, but even if it did work Dani would fight if anyone tried to set up a high risk, high reward plan like this again.
Ash was scouting too, in a different area of the hotel. Hank and Drew were back in the room, keeping an eye on their only captive and munching on the food Dani had brought up to them a little while ago.
“Astrid! Hey, Astrid!”
Dani registered the cries a split second before a gentle hand fell on her shoulder. She whipped around, careful not to react too aggressively, to find a brightly blonde woman in an all white costume stepping back in surprise.
“Oh! I’m sorry! I thought you were someone I knew. She went as Nico Robin last year and her costume looked a lot like yours. My bad.”
It was Astrid’s costume, obviously. This woman had correctly recognized it, just as Dani recognized the blonde as another of Astrid’s costume making friends, though not as close as the straitjacket wearing item who was currently trussed up and awaiting transport in the hotel room. Dani had not been in contact with this one. She only recognized her from Astrid’s posts and files.
Dani smiled, putting on a friendly mask. “It’s okay. Similar costumes, I’m sure I look the same as your friend from behind.”
The blonde chuckled awkwardly. “Yeah, my bad. Anyway, your cosplay looks great!”
“Thank you. I like yours too. Though, I have to admit I don’t recognize it.”
“Yeah, I probably should have picked an anime character instead of a comic book character, since it’s an anime convention. But I’ve only seen a few and my friend was dead set as coming as X-Men characters after she watched the ‘97 show. Next she’ll want to do Marvel Rivals. Which would work for me, cause I can just keep this Emma Frost costume.” She struck a pose with her hands on her hips. “My friend, who’s in the bathroom right now, is Rogue. A way more famous character than mine.”
Dani looked ‘Emma Frost’ up and down. She wore an all-white outfit. There were boots nearly as tall as the thigh highs Dani was wearing, with leggings in nearly the same shade underneath. Above the waist was a bustier top with spaghetti straps, along with a pair of white gloves that traveled all the way up to her forearms. Around her neck was a fur-lined cape that reached the small of her back.
The woman wearing the outfit was thin, but not skinny. Her compact frame suggested she was a runner, and her compact frame filled out a particularly sexy costume very well. Dani wouldn’t call her buff, but she could see passable muscle definition in her exposed upper forearms. Judging by the somewhat darker shade of blonde at the roots of her hair she was probably a natural blonde that was also using highlights. That pose she struck seemed effortless in a way that suggested she was already good at presenting herself.
Quality merchandise.
“You know, I talked to another Nico Robin on my floor before I came down here. She and her taller friend in a Nami costume were heading back up to their room. If you give me a number or snapchat or something, I could message you if I see them again.”
“Really? That’d be great, thanks! Astrid and I kept forgetting to give each other our contact information last year.”
Dani smiled, inwardly wondering if she was pushing her luck as she and the new target exchanged information. If she lured Blondie here, and maybe her friend with her, to the room with text messages… there was no way the same trap would work twice in a row, right? On the same day, even? This could easily backfire.
But as she watched the blonde walk away with an appraising eye for how much the unsuspecting cosplayer might sell for, she knew she would have to take the risk.
9:22 P.M.
“I can’t believe the same plan worked twice,” came Ash’s stunned voice as the team looked over their two new. “We seriously need to buy some lottery tickets when we’re done here.”
“Save your luck for the job. We still have the rest of the weekend to go.” Dani replied while she was privately marvelling at the team’s excellent luck even more than Ash was. She’d been so sure something would go wrong this time. Maybe poor Miranda would manage to make enough noise to warn them in time, or her friend would put up enough of a fight to break free. Nope. The trap was once again a complete success, leaving Dani to smirk as she inspected the new haul of two costumed women.
“Fmmmgh ooouuuu!” Screeched the gagged Emma Frost, who was taking her captivity with a lot more anger than Dani expected. She’d had her pegged as the type to cringe and whimper. Instead she fought ferociously enough that her cape went flying and one of her gloves was half off when they finally got her under control.
Her friend, a brunette with long, curly hair that had a streak of it dyed white, was just as furious. Only she was quieter about it. She seethed and glared, but not much else. Dani knew right away that she was cautious and patient, the worst kind of troublemaker.
Rogue was the name Blondie used. Dani vaguely recognized the character from a couple of movies she saw when she was a kid twenty years ago. Her costume was a full body suit, green on the sides and sleeves with a yellow streak going up her inner legs and torso. There were yellow knee high, low-heeled boots and matching gloves; along with a brown leather jacket Drew had wrestled off of her before tying her arms. The bodysuit was a lot more elaborate than her friend’s all-white outfit, detailed all over with design lines and strategically placed padding that made parts of it look almost like armor. Despite that padding, the overall suit was tight enough to get a solid picture of the new product’s slightly curvy figure. She was softer than her friend, but with a set of hips and a top-heavy frame that a worthwhile percentage of buyers would drool over.
Both new captives were hogtied on one of the beds, their ankles tied directly to their wrists with black rope that looked especially nice on all the bright shadows on both of their outfits. More rope had bound their knees together, and their elbows, and their whole arms to their torsos. Neither of the new products was going anywhere their captors didn’t want them to. Nor would they make too much noise, as they were both solidly gagged with cloth and wraparound tape. Miranda, meanwhile, was stashed in the bathroom, cuffed at an ankle to a bar in the shower. She was making some noise, but wouldn't be going anywhere even if they hadn’t cowed her into submissive, obedient silence.
“Are we sure we can’t make this work a third time?” Asked Drew, as practical as ever. “Why fix what isn’t broken?”
“We don’t want to get into a pattern any more than we already have,” answered Dani. “But it’s a moot point here and now. Three targets on top of the two we already have is an excellent haul for the first day. I’d rather not push any further until the morning. For now we’re going to wait until the place has quieted down and get them to the van.”
“Wwwhmm?” Blondie’s bravado was vanishing while her friend narrowed her eyes. The team ignored them.
“Four A.M. should be a good time,” agreed Hank. “The dance room is supposed to close down at three.”
It didn’t take long to get the details nailed down. Dani was in charge, but she was never averse to input and feedback. And it wasn’t like their organization had a strict chain of command to begin with. Hank and Drew had brought the huge, soundproofed, person-sized carry cases up when they first got to the hotel, while Dani and Ash registered into the convention with their stolen costumes. There were only two cases, but they could make multiple trips.
The girls on the bed grew more and more distressed as the details of their kidnapping were discussed as if they weren’t there. They grew even more distressed when the discussion was over, and Ash and Hank wasted no time in exploring their bound bodies. It didn’t help when Miranda was pulled out of the bathroom and deposited on top of them. They would probably calm down a bit when they realized the kidnappers wouldn’t do more than touch them. Probably.
For her part, Dani only paid the captives enough attention to keep them under control. That’s all that was needed for merchandise.
