It was almost showtime.

Rosa strode into the room dressed in a crisp-looking suit, ready and raring to go. The six captive items today that would be auctioned off in less than an hour were lined up, under guard, and not making trouble. As it should be. A glance told Rosa that lot number five was being a bit uppity, but that was normal. Hell, it was part of her charm. Rosa had known it would be a selling point since day one. The feisty ones could go for a lot of money.

Today’s auction wasn’t the kind of rich-blooded event where everyone would be dressed in tuxedos and evening gowns, it was business. Most of the customers were going to be in suits or business casual, and it was being held in a mostly concrete section of an office building instead of an exclusive country club or a well-secured penthouse.

All that said, Rosa had a pretty good lineup of items for sale. There were five women and one man. A couple of quality blue collars who had the potential to earn a good amount of money. And even if they didn't, there was also a pair of healthy college girls, a low-level executive, and even a hot, kinky doctor. There’d been talk of shunting a few of them up to a higher class auction, but the boss shut that down. A reputation for high-end merchandise at cheaper prices than the big boys was worth more than a finder’s fee and a smaller cut of a bigger price. Besides, you never knew when a bidding war might kick off and drive up a price.

The customers had already started arriving in the next room over. Ten different individuals and groups had RSVPed to the auction. Rosa knew that by now most of them have been through the metal detector, proven their credentials, and were waiting for things to get started. Upon entering the showroom they’d be given a catalog containing the basic information of everything up for sale today along with a picture from when the item was first "recruited." The catalogs would be returned and destroyed at the end of the event.

There was a small stack of catalogs at the backstage catering table, no more than three or four placed haphazardly next to the basket of rolls. Rosa picked one up. She always liked to look the catalog over before an auction began. It was good to start a show from the same ground as the customers…

Rosa finished looking over the catalog. Her smile grew as her gaze turned to the lineup. Each of the six slaves looked back with varying degrees of fear, trepidation, and hints of defiance that matched their descriptions in the catalog.

The biggest difference between real life and the pages was their new outfits. Bikinis, lingerie, and a nicely snug Speedo for the male. Outfits perfect for showing off their bodies while leaving just a little bit to the buyers’ imaginations.

Idly, the Venezuelan woman remembered the day, years ago, when she was sold. It had been a much more dingy place than this, a sharp contrast to the plush carpets and well-dressed buyers of the second time she was sold. She had done well for herself over the years, rising from a low-ranked slave herself to a trusted position in the organization that owned her. Still a slave, but better off than the new meat she was about to sell.

Rosa smiled as she checked her watch. None of these bitches had been slaves for more than a few weeks. They barely knew what was in store for them, but Rosa knew it very well. She chuckled to herself while giving the all ready signal to the head of security, a beefy man with the same sunglasses and black turtleneck as the rest of the goons. He replied with a thumbs up.

It was time.

“Alright sluts,” Rosa declared while marching to the door. “I hope you’re all ready to be sold. It’s showtime!”

The chorus of gagged moans and affirmations was music to Rosa's ears. She didn't spare any of them another look. It was time to focus on the customers.

There was set of black, freestanding curtains immediately to Rosa's right as she entered the showroom. No curtains or stage here, just a makeshift little entrance tunnel to give that extra little bit of suspense as an item was brought in.

The customers were all seated and standing around a few rows of padded folding chairs, more than enough for everyone to sit. Plenty of them had their own copies of the catalog open in their hands and on their laps. A couple more turtlenecked security guys were at the room's only other entrance. The low buzz of conversation quieted down as they all saw Rosa march into the room, stop at the standing microphone, and turn to them with a wide showgirl smile.

"Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to today's auction. Thank you all for coming. In just a moment, we'll bring out the first of today's selection for you to bid on. We hope our complementary catalogs have helped you find an item you are interested in. As always, the winner bidders' new property will be given to them after the auction, and all sales are final."

She paused, holding her smile as she looked out over the crowd. No one here was unfamiliar with the process. Rosa caught a few impatient looks. They were ready for the show to begin.

"If nobody has any questions, let's get started."
