Lydia Greenwood was confident her husband and daughter would be pleased with their Christmas gifts this year.
For her husband Charles, Lydia had bought the main part of his gift several months ago. Two new ponies for his stable. It was something of a gamble, as Charles did not always appreciate when additions to his herd were made without his input, but Lydia had another set of inanimate presents in case he was unhappy with the animals.
“Thank you again for seeing me on such short notice,” Lydia said to her guest. “I know how valuable your time is.”
“Hogwash,” said Leo.
Leonard Foster was a man of just under average height with sandy hair and a neat goatee that framed a friendly, open smile that so often terrified his charges. Lydia had worked with him before her marriage. They hadn’t been colleagues long, but he’d been one of Lydia’s protégés. Now he was one of the head trainers of a different facility, a pony-specializing Ranch.
The two of them were standing in the snow, outside the estate’s stable, close to where the trailer containing Charles’s presents was parked. Some shoveling had been necessary recently. It wasn’t an especially harsh winter day. The temperature was cold, but compared to what it had been in the last week it was downright pleasant.
Lydia was dressed in a stylish black coat and a crimson scarf. Her dark blonde hair was spilled out from beneath a matching red hat. Comfortable fur-lined leather gloves and warm winter boots complete the ensemble.
For his part, Leo’s jacket was a little too light for the cold. The man was making a valiant effort not to shiver, but Lydia caught him now and again. A consequence of life in South Texas.
“You know how things are around the holidays when it comes to ponies,” Leo continued. “Most of the customers are off in paradise or don’t want new animals when their homes are too cold. Not all, plenty live where there’s not much of a winter, but enough that I had time.”
“Still, I appreciate the personal visit. I only had this small window of availability for you to come in when my husband wouldn't see us delivering something new to the stables.”
Leo smiled. “No time like the present. I believe it should be just a moment before–ah, here they are.”
One of Leo’s subordinates stepped out of the trailer with a heavy leash in his hands. At the other end of the leash was one of Charles Greenwood’s Christmas presents.
The pony had a beautiful mane of red hair fashioned into a standard tail at the top of her head. She was five feet, four inches tall without her hoof boots. Her handler faced no active resistance as she was led out of the trailer, stepping carefully down the ramp as the younger man coaxed her along. A testament to Leo’s skilled training in light of the relatively short time she had been in his care.
Her new name was Autumn, and the angry, humiliated look on her face behind the thick bit gag in her mouth revealed the pony’s human feelings. She had not reached a point of blank acceptance of her new life. That was good. Charles liked his ponies to keep some of their fire. His very favorite–the dark-skinned Desert–had never lost her fury after years of life as a pony.
Lydia knew Autumn had tattoos. Both of the new ponies did. A disgusting trait, in Lydia’s opinion. Too many young men and women marred their skin these days. But Lydia supposed it would add a certain character to Autumn’s hide. Fortunately the tattoos were not currently visible, as the pony’s body was covered by Charles’s other Christmas gift.
The tight dark material was sleek. From even a mild distance it was remarkable how much it looked like the fur of an actual horse. But it was only designed to look that way. As the trainer brought Autumn close it became visibly apparent that it was not fur, but the outer layer of a more complex form of winter wear. It covered her from neck to ankle, going over her hoof boots conforming to the contours of both her body and her bondage above the waist. Lydia could easily make out the outline of her pony tack harness. Even the arm pouch was molded over the shape of Autumn’s armbinder. The only parts of the pony gear that were not covered were the hooves of Autumn’s boots, the gag, and the blinder harness equipped with ear muffs on the rest of her head.
Another set of foot and hoofsteps, first down the ramp and then in the crunching snow, announced the second new pony being led down the trailer ramp. A brown-haired, green-eyed thing now named Spring who was wearing the same material as Autumn but in a lighter, more brown-ish color.
“So these are the new thermal coats.”
In the corner of her eye Lydia could see Leo give her a salesman’s smile. “That’s right. Top of the line. It’s not available for general sale yet, but between our personal history and Charles’s status as a repeat customer I was able to get you enough of them for the entire herd of mares. I believe Spring and Autumn here bring it up to eight?”
Lydia resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Leo knew exactly how many mares Charles owned. “That’s correct. He sold his previous redhead and picked up a tall Native pony not too long ago.”
Both new ponies were brought to stand before Lydia to inspect. Unlike Autumn, Spring’s expression was closer to neutral. She had been in Leo’s care for several more months than her fellow ponygirl slave. Still, Lydia could see tension in her stance and shoulders rather than the relaxed posture of a truly mindless animal some human ponies achieved.
Spring and Autumn were of a height, five feet three inches outside of their boots. The two ponies would almost certainly be paired together when Charles raced them or had them pull his carts and he would appreciate how well they were matched. Their bodies even had similar builds, both having been skateboarders in their human lives. That degenerate lifestyle was likely the source of their tattoos, as Spring had even more of the vile things than Autumn.
Earlier in the year Charles had bought himself another pair, Summer and Winter. A surfer and a snowboarder. One blonde and tan, the other black-haired and pale. Summer’s physique was somewhat curvy, Winter more lean. Both had blue eyes. Charles had been mulling over the idea of adding another two ponies for a full year of seasons. Lydia had taken it upon herself to give them to him.
Leo interrupted Lydia’s inspection by stepping forward and planting himself between the ponies. Both creatures shifted on their feet, clearly wanting to step away from their trainer, but held themselves in place like good ponies were supposed to.
“As you know—” Leo said. “—most winter gear for ponies is bulky and unappealing to the eye. Recent strides have finally allowed us to properly dress an animal for cold climates in a way that is not only more aesthetically pleasing…”
Without warning, he gave both ponies a hard smack to their rumps. Autumn jumped a little, grunted, and briefly twisted her head to glare at Leo before hurriedly looking back ahead. Spring squealed, a delightful sound Charles would love, and did nothing else.
“…but also allows them to feel the full force of whatever encouragement or corrective discipline their owner seeks to give them, though only in specific body parts. The rump, the flank, the inner and outer thighs, anything you might want to strike at.”
“I’m sure the back would be vulnerable if their hands were in front.” Charles liked his ponies in armbinders, but not everyone shared that preference.”
Leo replied with an exaggerated nod. “The suits’ primary purpose is to trap their body heat effectively enough to let them run in winter temperatures without sacrificing their physical appeal. Unfortunately, that means they do nothing to assist the animals in running through the snow. Their ability to gallop, cantor, or trot remains limited.”
“That's all we need. Charles does enjoy making his ponies race each other and we have staff to keep his favorite tracks and trails clear.”
Observing the ponies’ reactions was always fascinating, no matter how many of them Lydia had seen over the years. Autumn’s body squirmed and her face frequently twitched as her trainer and buyer went over her ability to race for amusement, discussing her as if she was not present. Spring managed to keep her expression still while her body grew more tense.
“What is the lowest temperature the suits are rated for?” Lydia asked. Neither of the ponies seemed bothered by the cold.
“They can withstand very low wind chills, but for safety’s sake we recommend not taking them out if the temperature dips too far below 5 degrees Fahrenheit.”
Charles would be thrilled. He loved his estate and hated storing his ponies in a warmer climate over the winter months. Now he would be able to keep them at home all year round.
“You have the other six I ordered?”
“Each made to the physical specifications of the mares we have on file. If any adjustments are required, they will be provided free of charge.”
Lydia smiled. “You don’t have to sell the suits to me, Leo. I’ve already bought them.” As she spoke, the Greenwood matriarch stepped up close to the ponies. She ran a critical eye over them, taking in as much detail as she could.
When she was satisfied visually, she took off her gloves and touched them. Her hands felt at the thermal suits of both ponies. They seemed remarkably thin for all that Leo had promised they were capable of. It was easy to feel the toned pony muscles on their legs, the firmness of their hindquarters, and the tight restraints beneath the suits.
Eventually, Lydia came to their faces. She started with Autumn, grabbing her by the chin and feeling almost no resistance as she forced the redhead to look her in the eyes. There was definitely anger there. The pony was trying to bury her feelings, but they were clear to see. Good. Lydia smiled faintly. Charles would like this one. The free woman finished her inspection by pulling back Autumn’s lips to check her teeth before progressing to the other one.
Spring’s muscle tone was a little better than Autumn’s. It was hard to tell beneath the suits, but Lydia knew the signs well enough to find them. Spring had been a pony longer than Autumn, so it only made sense. The pony’s eyes showed more fear than anger. Charles would enjoy that too. But when she took a look at the Spring’s teeth she found another question.
“This one has some discoloration. The drug problem you mentioned?”
“That’s right. She showed signs of withdrawal when we first collected her. Nothing to worry about now. We of course are far more concerned with the animal’s health than it ever was in the wild.” An indignant anger flashed across Spring’s eyes and face. “But while her teeth have certainly improved since we started her training, they might never fully recover.”
“You never mentioned that to me.”
“An oversight that will not be repeated. You have my apologies.”
It wasn’t really a problem. Lydia doubted most pony owners would even spot the slight discoloration. But it was a useful exercise, both to show the new ponies what they could expect of their new lives and to remind Leo that he was not beyond making the occasional mistake.
“Very well then,” Lydia said as she stepped away. “Let’s get a taste of what they’re made of, shall we? Can they handle running without a driver?”
“Of course.”
“Excellent. Let’s race them to the stables and see which one is faster. I’ll use the loser to test how effective corporal punishment is through those suits and the winner can have her first treat.”
Leo smirked. “Sounds like a fun idea to me. Boys?”
The silent handlers came forward to unclip the leashes from the ponies’ collars and point them at the stable doors, which Lydia had left open in anticipation for this event. Making a new pony run to its stall was a useful psychological tactic. A form of pressure that reminded them in no uncertain terms that they no longer had any control over their lives or actions. And their reactions to the humiliation of being made to exert such effort into reaching their place of captivity would say a great deal about them as individuals.
The handlers had them ready in moments, lining them shoulder to shoulder in the trodden snow. Charles might see the prints in the space around the stable and guess at what he would be getting for Christmas this year, but that was fine. Some anticipation never hurt anyone.
Leo produced a starting gun and offered it to Lydia. She shook her head, preferring to focus more on the ponies’ performances than handling the item. Leo accepted her decision with a shrug and wasted no time in pointing it into the air and pulling the trigger.
BANG
The ponies were off at a near sprint, kicking up little white clouds around their heels. Each handled the snowy, uneven terrain well. Lydia supposed it made sense that skateboarders would have a good sense of balance. She frowned at some things–Autumn’s running form was mildly flawed and Spring nearly tripped more than once–but overall thought they handled the run very well. Spring was the first to make it inside, beating her fellow pony by a comfortable margin. Lydia instantly suspected Autumn had thrown the fight to make it easier on the other pony. Interesting. She hadn’t pegged the redhead as the selfless type.
With the race done Lydia and Leo began walking to the stable while the handlers returned to the trailer to get the rest of the thermal suits. As they made their way over, Leo spoke.
“So, any thought of what you’ll be buying your daughter? I don’t suppose she’s interested in ponies?”
“No,” Lydia sighed. “She’s lost interest and given up on animal slaves of any kind. I had to take the dog we bought her away, and she never even asked for a pony. Instead of animals or a new slave I’ve bought her an all-expenses paid two month trip to the Corporate resorts of her choice.”
“Resorts? Not just one?”
“No, I’ve bought their travel package, complete with a fund to buy several playthings if any catch her interest, within reason. There will be a furnished private jet to take her to any of their other resorts. If she wishes to spend the whole time in the tropics, she can. If she wants to go elsewhere, to the mountains or one of their city-based locations, she can do that as well. I’m hoping that experiencing a wide variety of playthings will help her get a more concrete sense of her tastes.”
When they reached the stable they found Autumn and Spring had already been corralled by the stablehand, Rico. Lydia had brought him back from his winter job in secret for this. Both ponies were already on new leashes, still panting from the exertion of their run. The quiet stablehand nodded politely at Lydia and her guest entered.
Autumn and Spring were the only ponies present. The rest were stored in their winter stables, in the very same facility where Leo did his work. Charles would no doubt be flying his mares back home as soon as he got his hands on those suits. Lydia had considered bringing them over herself, but decided against it. Charles would have to content himself with the new ponies for a few days. This way he would likely get attached to them even if he wasn’t initially keen.
The rest of the Greenwood herd, both the stallions Charles owned to pleasure his mares and the three ponies Lydia owned, would remain where they were. These thermal suits were expensive enough that Lydia thought it wise to limit the number she bought at first. Besides, Charles barely used his stallions for their intended purpose. He wouldn't miss them for some time.
“Rico, get them both on some benches. I’ll be with Autum–yes, the one with the red mane–in a moment. In the meantime give Spring a treat for winning this little race.”
“Yes ma’am,” said Rico. Then he took a good look at the space between Spring’s legs. It was covered by the sleek, fur-looking material of the thermal suit. “Um, how do I–”
“There are several flaps you can maneuver your hand through,” explained Leo. “Like pajama pants. It’s a little awkward at first because we couldn't compromise the suit’s warmth, but it lets you reward your ponies without the hassle of taking the whole thing off.”
The ponies were quickly bent over and strapped onto a pair of bondage benches across from each other. Autumn and Spring would be able to look at each other while one was punished for her performance and the other rewarded for hers. Rico was a longtime hand on the Greenwood estate and knew what he was doing. Lydia knew she would have to increase his pay soon. She might have to hire a new hand too, since it might become a year-round position in the coming weeks.
But that was for later. For now Lydia chatted with her old colleague while selecting a crop, a cane, and a whip to test out on Autumn’s hide.
“Does the suit prevent me from leaving marks on her skin?”
Leo smirked. “I could answer that. But I think you’ll have more fun finding out for yourself.”
Lydia heard Autumn let out a fearful grunt just before she got started. On the edge of her vision was Rico, bent over Spring and whispering into her ear while his fingers forcibly found their way into her folds.
The day went on with the pained cries of one animal and the pleasured moans of another. As she listened, Lydia smiled and knew her husband would be thrilled with his presents this year.
