Erika stood at the Busstation as usual. Waiting to finally get home from work. To her displeasure, was her bus delayed, after a short groan, did she leave the Station, to get a few more steps in. After crossing two Streets, did she spot an Ad for a local Medieval festival. Wondering if she should at least take a look, did her nagivator app, send her a message. "Busses are temporarily cancelled, because of a accident on the road to the city."
With that, it was clear that she had more than enough time. The closer she got, the more people were wearing fitting cloths. Making her jeans and top a bit out of place. She bought herself a ticket to enter, only to stop at a small shop, that sold dresses. One look at the prices however changed her mind from buying one.
Still, she memorized one and walked behind the Shop, making sure, that no one saw her. With a snap of her fingers, did she turn her cloths, into a fitting copy of the dress. Now dressed for the occasion, did she walk around, she watched a few fights. Some planned, others coming from guests.
What really caught her attention, was in the centre of the marketplace. On a stage, was a guillotine. Something about it, looked of to her. She couldnt place why however, till she watched as two knights, pulled a girl her age from the crowd and to the guillotine. Accusing the girl of witchcraft. Ignoring the girls wishes to be let go, did they force her on her knees.
Now she saw it, the stock for the Guillotine was damaged and by the looks of it, the blade was real. Erika sighed, the oversight of those idiots, would kill the girl, if no one stopped them. Seeing as no one spotted the danger, beside her, did she climb onto the stage, grabbing the rope holding the blade just in time.
"Sorry, but this young lady isnt a witch. If you want to behead someone, you have to get through me." Erika said and freed the still crying girl. Erika dropped the blade. "What the hell is wrong with you idiots." she yelled out, only to be grabbed on forced on her knees. Up close, it showed that she was right. If they continued the girl would have lost her head.
Only now she was in that spot, with no one to protect her. She kept an angry face, cursing the king and his knights, till the blade rushed downwards. Erika felt the blade touching her neck, followed by blocking her windpipe and the exit. She crossed her eyes as the blade hit the floor. For a second nothing happend.
Maybe she overreacted, she thought as the ground came closer. Her head landed in the basket, as blood shot out of her neck. To the Panic of the Knights. "Oh god, we killed her. Thats why-" one of the knights started, wondering how they should explain that. In the next moment, did a fist land in his face, knocking him down.
Erikas body streched her hand after the punch. The Second knight jumped back and watched as the headless girl walked over to the basket and picked her still bleeding head up. Only for it to open her eyes. "Sorry guys, but that was really dangerous." she said and placed her head back on her shoulders, she did a courtsy towards the crowd. "can someone throw me a torch?" she asked.
followed by a burning torch flying towards her. Erika grabbed it and set the guillotine on fire. "Just so no one tries this again." she said and jumped of the stage. On the ground, the Girl she saved thanked her. "but how did you do that?" she asked. "A proper witch is prepared for anything, even losing her head." Erika answered and handed the girl a card with her number on it.
After the fire died down, did she leave. Once Erika reached her station again, could she spot the Bus she was waiting for.
