Corey groaned, rolling over in bed. There was that noise, again. Something banging or tapping or whatever. It seemed so far away and insignificant, but it just wouldn't stop. Frustrated, Corey put a pillow over her head and screamed into it. At least the sound stopped for a moment, before picking up in intensity.

Corey sighed, shaking out her long blonde hair as she sat up, before putting on a robe and slippers. She realized in the back of her mind that this was the perfect setup for a horror movie - the woman was home alone while the man was out with friends, and she was going to check on the strange noises at night. She glanced around, looking for something to defend herself with. After a moment, she remembered the bag of sports equipment in her old room. She rushed through the upper floor of the house, slipping into the bedroom and shutting the door behind her.

There wasn't much left in the bag, merely a football, a baseball, and a tennis racket. She frowned. Apparently the baseball bat and other items had disappeared sometime before; after all, what would a track kid need with all this stuff? As she hefted the racket in one hand, she considered using it in case she had to defend herself. A few practice swings, and she was reasonably confident she could deter someone... or at least distract them long enough to run away and get help.

The sound hadn't abated the entire time she'd been searching. It was coming from downstairs, somewhere in that ominous dark void. Corey took a deep breath, slipping as quietly down the stairs as she could. Each creak in the floorboards seemed amplified, contrasting with the silence and unknown thudding. She could hear it clearly now: someone was banging on the door, alternating between knocking on the wood and the glass. Echoing through the quiet house, it had sounded strange and alien, but now, it seemed almost welcoming.

Corey took a peek through the window, trying to spy who might be coming to their house so late that she had already gone to bed. The sound immediately stopped, and suddenly there was a woman standing in the flower bed, looking at Corey with an intense expression. She seemed to be saying something, the glass muffling her words into foreign obscurity. Finally, she rolled her eyes - eyes surrounded by heavy, dark makeup and gestured at the door.

Hesitantly, Corey unlocked the door, opening it a crack and putting her body against it to keep the stranger from pushing it open further. Immediately she was present at the door, Corey's eyes drawn to her black lips and intense gaze.

"Are you...?" she asked breathlessly, trailing off before she could finish her question. "My name is Noire... and we need to talk about... him."

The way she said 'him' made a shiver run through Corey's back. "He..." she said, knowing immediately who this strange and panicked woman was talking about. "What did he do?" Noire pushed against the door gently as Corey numbly backed up. Slowly, she propped the tennis racket against the wall as she welcomed this woman into her house. "What did he do?" she repeated, her voice no more than a hoarse whisper. She knew exactly what Vanessa was capable of, what he had done to her even, so the thought of another woman coming to her needing to talk about him was concerning... terrifying even, and it filled Corey with dread.

Noire stepped inside the house, turning on the entryway's light. "Beautiful house," she mumbled, as if it were a useful observation in whatever she was thinking. She turned her attention to Corey. "Do you have somewhere more comfortable for us to talk? I don't think this is appropriate for right here."

Corey gestured toward the living room, some of her senses returning. Thankfully, this woman hadn't attacked or harmed her, yet at least. Corey followed Noire through her own house, sitting down in the armchair next to the couch. With her short black hair, lacy black clothes, and heavy black makeup, this woman definitely had a style that screamed gothic and alternative. Also, Corey couldn't help but to subtly give a glance over this woman. She was hot and mature and seductive, sitting on Corey's family's couch as if she lived here and Corey was the guest.

"Noire," she tried out the name, immediately gathering the woman's attention and snapping herself out of her trance. "I... You seem lovely, but why did you come over so late?"

"He told me everything." Noire slid over on the couch toward the armchair Corey was sitting in, placing her hand on Corey's. The touch was cold, but still reassuring. "You don't have to hide anything from me, I just want to hear it from you."

Corey paused, swallowing hard. 'He told me everything' echoed in her head, overwhelming her thoughts. This... This was one of Vanessa's girls... *yet another* girl of his. She had to be, right? "W-what did he tell you?"

Immediately, Noire's gaze cast downward, her hand covering her midsection. A fear bloomed in Corey's heart, one she wasn't sure she wanted resolved. "Corey," she said simply and Corey nodded in response. "He's been seeing me for a few months." Her gaze lifted back up, a cool confidence quickly covering up a flash of some more volatile emotion. "He told me something the other day, and it's been eating me up. I needed to talk to you about him."

A swirl of emotions ran through Corey. They'd been together for a few months? How had Vanessa never mentioned this other, third lover? The hand on her belly... Was she pregnant too? She must be, Corey realized, trying to keep her thoughts together. She knew Vanessa had to tell everyone everything this week, but to already tell Noire and not herself? The realization stung a little. But, through that pain came a small, gentle relief. She couldn't talk to Brooke about what was going on - how could she? She was her former girlfriend - but another adult woman, someone who was previously disconnected from the messy tangle of their lives? The relief washed through Corey so suddenly and with such intensity that she couldn't help but to laugh out loud.

Noire gave her a weird look, but patiently waited for Corey to calm down. Finally, Corey relaxed and gave the gothic woman a soft smile. "So, I guess I would've had a chance with you, huh?"

The strange look on her face became more confused, and Noire tilted her head. "Wh-What? I don't know what you mean, I'm not into women..."

Corey casually waved her hand. "I'm just joking, you know, since I used to be him, I probably would've had a chance to be with you." Corey looked at the growing confusion on Noire's face, panic filling her gut. Still, she pressed on, explaining, "Because of the... the body swap?"

Noire's hand clenched shut around Corey's, her eyes wide. "The what?! I'm here to talk about how your son attacked you!"

Corey froze, eyes wide. Noire didn't know everything, she realized, and now she'd gone and exposed their secret. "Look, forget it--"

Noire scooted as close as she could on the couch, sitting a mere breath away. "No. I'm not having more shit hidden from me. You need to tell me--"

"If he didn't tell you--"

"--because if I'm going to carry that lying idiot's kid I need to know all the details." The look Noire gave was intense. "Please. Don't hide anything from me. I don't know what's going on, but it's a lot. It's more than I can handle alone, and I just needed to hear from you that your son's a good person. But--"

Corey's heart broke. "He is a good person!" Her free hand went to her own belly, the faint curve of her pregnancy obscured by the heavy robe she was wearing. "I'll tell you everything, but please, don't judge us. It's... It's not a good story."

Noire nodded, finally releasing Corey's hand. "Just, don't lie to me. Please."

Corey sighed, hesitating. This woman was surely affected by the same magic that Corey and Brooke were. The pregnancy, the bond to Vanessa... it was all the same. She deserved to know the truth, to know what had happened to end her up in this situation. "A few months ago, I was Corey. I still am, mentally, but I was also Corey physically. The person you know as Corey was my mother, who was in this body. We wished on some shooting stars, and like a cheesy comedy, we swapped bodies in our sleep.

"We kept everything a secret, and no one knew. But eventually, Vanessa, in my body, was getting angry, and horny, and out of control. He ended up sleeping with my girlfriend, Brooke, and he... he forced himself on me. It was wrong and messed up, and as it was happening we made more wishes; painful, spiteful wishes. Everyone he slept with - which includes you, it seems like - ended up pregnant, and no matter what happens, we love him."

Corey looked down at the floor, rubbing her pink slipper-covered feet together. She needed a new pedicure, she realized. It'd only been a week, and already the polish was chipping. Forcing herself to pay attention to the conversation again, she looked back up at Noire who was watching her intensely. "That's what happened. I've already talked with Vanessa about what he did to me, and we've come to an understanding. I know he doesn't sound like a good person, but... He's good in my eyes. He's just confused and needs guidance."

Noire hesitated. "Do you know how crazy that story sounds? Magical shooting stars granting wishes? Supernatural pregnancies?" Her fingers curled at the edge of the top she was wearing that exposed her midriff. Corey could see it in the soft light of the living room. Her torso had a gentle curve to it, and against this curve Noire rested her closed hand. "I thought he was just a hookup - some hot sex on the side. But suddenly, not long after we started, I felt this obsession just click into place. I couldn't get him out of my mind, and... and..."

"And you love him." Noire nodded, looking into Corey's eyes with a gentleness she hadn't shown yet. "I love him too. So does Brooke. I think the three of us need to accept we have someone we share and love with all our hearts. I'm kinda his mom now, she's his girlfriend, and you're..."

"...I'm his first." Corey raised her brow, prompting Noire to continue. "He told me everything except the body swapping part.  And he told me that I was the first person he got a blowjob from, and the first person he had sex with... like that." She chuckled, oblivious to the jealousy in Corey's heart. She knew she wasn't Vanessa's 'first' in any way, but to hear another woman stake that claim so proudly and boldly? That stung, even if just a little. "The idiot came so close to telling me the whole truth, didn't he?"

Both of the women sighed, looking at each other, and then away at the various decorations of the room. Finally, Corey broke the silence. "I don't think we're going to swap back," she whispered. "I don't think I can be 'him' again."

Noire nodded, thinking for a moment. "Don't," she finally said. "It's him that I have feelings for; not you." She turned to Corey, putting on a wide smirk. "Sorry, but middle aged women just aren't my type." After a second, both women laughed together, shaking their heads gently from side to side. When they finished, Noire stood up, Corey quickly following suit.

"Is everything ok?" Corey asked, concern written on her face.

With a wave of her hand, Noire sighed. "My husband is running the shop alone. Never know who will come by, so I try to be there for him just in case, even though he's better at the management side of things then I am."

"You have a husband too?" Corey walked with Noire as they headed toward the front door. "Mine's out for the night, thinking about things with his friend."

"Does he know?"

A gentle smile graced Corey's lips. "Yeah, we talked last night. I can't say he's thrilled about everything, but I think we're going to find our place in things."

Noire nodded, thinking. "Maybe he should meet my husband? The two of them have a bit in common now, and besides, everyone likes Corbin." She turned to Corey, having reached and opened the front door. "It was great talking with you... Corey. Don't be afraid to reach out to me if you need anything."

Then, against what felt like all odds to Corey, Noire gave her a soft peck on the cheek. Immediately, his heart ached, imagining all the possibilities that could have been had she not swapped with her mother. By the time Noire had stepped outside and Corey had locked up and gone back upstairs, she couldn't stop thinking about that soft kiss. Despite the momentary obsession, though, she knew that things never would have gone anywhere between her and Noire had she still been a guy. She'd have been too committed to Brooke, and likely would never have met the woman.

This life - this fate of taking the role of her mother - seemed to be the best thing that could happen.  Corey placed her hand over her midsection and gasped. It felt strange for a moment, as if something fluttered inside of her. With a gasp, Corey staggered back to the bed, the reality of the pregnancy hitting her for the first time.

She was going to be a mother. She was going to bring life into this world, and she was going to raise it as best as she could manage. With Tyler, Vanessa, and even Brooke and Noire, they were going to give their kids an amazing life.

The pregnancy consumed her thoughts for the rest of the night, leaving Corey scrolling her phone until the bleary dawning hours of morning. Scrolling feeds on what to expect, how best to prepare, the most popular baby names, and everything else she could think of. This was the fairy tale she never knew she wanted to come true, coming true. Nothing would make Corey happier than this, and she'd let nothing come between her and this experience.
