[TF, Woman to Tree]
Joanne stumbled out of the shower, confusedly scratching her head. She washed it at least five times, and it still felt itchy and scratchy. “Hun? Are you around?”
Chris whisked into the bathroom, perhaps too quickly. Was she standing just outside, waiting to be called in? Joanne couldn’t ponder that for too long, as her wife was now standing before her. “Yes darling? What is it?”
Raising a brow at Chris’s suddenly peppy mood, Joanne tilted her head. There was enough weirdness afoot to ignore her itchy head. “What’s going on? Ever since you got that new job at Innovention, you’ve been acting strangely. I would have thought my artist would be upset about having a desk job.”
With a roll of her eyes, Chris deflected the question. “Don’t worry about that, I’ll tell you about my job another time. Why’d you call me in here?”
Joanne pointed to her head. “It’s *so* itchy. Like, I can’t even stand it.” With a shake, her wet brown hair flung everywhere, it’s extreme length whipping everything and everyone nearby.
Chris narrowly dodged the water flying through the air and pulled her wife close. "Hey, let me take a look." Gently parting and working through Joanne's hair, she could see evidence of the intense scrubbing it had been through. But more importantly, she could see evidence of something else.
"Oh, it's nothing!" Chris calmly replied, giving Joanne a kiss on the cheek, and choosing to leave out her secondary observation. "It just looks like you scratched it too much in the shower. Why don't you leave it alone, and be more gentle tomorrow?"
Joanne sighed, and pouted. What else was there to do, argue with Chris? She was probably right, and this was nothing to worry about.
===
This was definitely something to worry about. Joanne’s hair had become thick and green, seemingly overnight. Joanne tugged at the foreign looking strands, each as thick around as her thumbs, but to no avail. They were stuck, seemingly buried in at the roots where her actual hair had been.
Now, Joanne was all for transformations and strange things happening to her body, and this normally would have provoked such a positive reaction from her. But not knowing exactly what was happening was concerning. Was this a reaction from all her previous changes? She needed to tell Chris.
Joanne wandered the house, unable to find Chris. She hopped in the shower, taking extra effort to scrub at her head. By the time she finished, she found Chris waiting in the steamy bathroom, with a grocery bag in hand.
“Chris! Look at my hair! What’s going on?” Joanne exclaimed. Her stress had mostly faded, but she was still concerned enough to bring it up right away.
Chris hemmed and hawed for a long moment, which only served to make her wife more curious about what was happening. Finally, Chris let out a long sigh and gestured to Joanne’s head. “So… that’s not hair. Those are vines.” Joanne was stunned into silence for a long moment, and she wasn’t sure what she was hearing. “They took root into your head and absorbed your hair. It’s because of the shampoo you’ve been using, that’s why your head has been itchy. I, uh, brought you some body wash from the same place…”
Joanne squealed with joy, running over to hug her spouse despite her wet body. She quickly dug through the bag in Chris’s hands, fishing out the body wash. “Ohh! I didn’t know why this was happening. Thank you!” Suddenly and abruptly, Joanne launched herself back into the shower, and with the sound of running water, Chris could only imagine she was scrubbing herself down with the new soap.

Later that night, in bed, the two snuggled together. Throughout the day, the vines had shown a small amount of growth, which made Joanne excited. The far more exciting development were the leaves now forming along their lengths. Joanne snuggled her head against Chris’s bare chest, while Chris stroked and played with the long vines and rubbed her fingers over the surfaces of the leaves. For being something growing on and in her, Joanne shockingly could feel every touch, every sensation against the foreign flora.
Chris had tried to hypothesize that perhaps since the vines had absorbed her hair, the nerve endings in her scalp were also absorbed. It was a theory, sure, but Joanne didn’t really care. It felt amazing, and that’s all that mattered.
Even after Chris had fallen asleep, Joanne stayed up, stroking and rubbing her new replacement hair. The sensation was unlike anything she’d felt before. It felt so natural and wild, as though she were a part of some undiscovered wilderness that an explorer had just stumbled into for the first time. What the coming days would bring, and what changes would follow would be the subject of Joanne’s dreams for the rest of the night.

Joanne was passed out on the back porch, sprawled along the length of a comfortable outdoor loveseat with bare feet hanging off the end. In fact, all of Joanne was bare naked, a stark surprise when Chris got home. Sure, she knew her wife had no shyness about being in the nude, but it was still a shock to see her in this state outside and asleep.
Gently, she woke up Joanne with a shake to the shoulder. “Hey hun, how’s it going?”
Joanne yawned heartily, smiling at Chris. She slowly, gingerly rubbed her eyes. “Hey Chris. It’s alright, just tired. Though, strangely after this nap in the sun I feel much better,” she mumbled through the haze of just waking up. Halfheartedly, she scratched at her cheek, and then her chest. Everything was itchy these days, but instead of being a shock or a concern, now it was exciting. Something as simple and mundane as a scratch and having dry skin all over was intensely stimulating mentally what would happen. It didn’t help that Chris was keeping quiet on the details of the changes that would be coming.
“Well Joanne, it’s probably because you’re photosynthesizing.” It was stated so matter of fact, but the statement carried so much weight. The shampoo and body wash weren’t just growing plants on her skin, they were changing her internally. It made sense why she hadn’t been hungry for a few days, and why she felt so good after soaking up some sun. She was a plant now - or at least, partially.
“Holy cow”! Joanne exclaimed, her eyes lighting up. She jumped to her feet, oblivious or uncaring to her breasts that swung free. “This is amazing!” She pulled her vinehair gently over her shoulders so it rested on her front, and gently stroked their thick green lengths. Her vinehair was far more luscious than before, and adorned with many leaves now. “Hey, now that I’ve got some energy, did you want to…?”
With a smirk on her face, Chris quickly nodded and the pair ran off to the bedroom together.

Chris peered up from over the edge of her book to once again peek at her wife. It was the weekend, so they could both lounge outside. Joanne, once again due to the itchiness of her skin, was in the nude. But the more noticeable feature was that she was green. From head to toe, all of her exposed skin was the bright green of a newly sprouted sapling.
Joanne slowly turned onto her side, and then on her back. She’d been moving sluggishly in general lately, due to the effects of the change. Her joints were all stiffening, and the dry patches of skin now covered her entire body and were starting to harden.
The strangest change yet was Joanne’s feet. They were spreading out, especially as her toes were branching and forking into many different smaller tendrils. They seemed to grasp anything near them.
As suddenly as Joanne could move, she started to stand up and walk to the center of the yard. “I’m ready to be planted!” Almost certainly it wasn’t on the queue of her declaration, but her rootfeet started grasping and worming into the dirt as though they needed it to survive. Perhaps they did, just as all of Joanne was dependent on sunlight for nutrients entirely instead of food. Every day she was becoming more and more plantlike, and less human.
“Ahh, fuck. That feels good.” Experimentally Joanne tried to tug her feet out of the ground, but they wouldn’t budge. “Ohh, I’m really stuck here… whatever will I do~”
The hint was obvious enough; Chris made her way over to her now-rooted wife. “Mmm, so helpless and vulnerable, just like any freshly planted sapling~” Her words made Joanne coo and squirm, which only encouraged Chris to tease a little bit more. Her hands explored Joanne’s roughly textured body, sending shivers down the poor girl’s overstimulated spine. Fortunately, the onslaught was short-lived. “Goodnight, my dear. The sun is almost down, so I’ll let you sleep while I head inside.”
Chris planted a quick kiss on Joanne’s lips, but Joanne managed to grab hold of her wife and extend the kiss into a much more passionate, intimate experience. After they broke apart, Chris wiped her lips and the pair giggled. “You taste sweet… and sticky,” Chris remarked. After a moment, her eyes lit up. “Syrup! Sap! You’re producing sap!” The pair couldn’t help but laugh again, before Chris went inside and Joanne quickly fell asleep.

When Chris finally returned from her business trip - an unavoidable product demonstration for her new job, something about conserving forests or something - there wasn’t a Joanne in her yard. Just a very large, very mature tree. Chris had suspected this would be the case, and had set up multiple video cameras to watch the process.
As the days had gone by, Joanne slowly started to lose the ability to move around. The change crept up from her legs, inch by inch. During the day, she’d be awake in the afternoon, after having collected enough sunlight to be active. During the night, her transformation would continue, resuming where it paused that morning and changing more of her.
Her legs fused into a singular tree stump, and so did her hips and torso. You could still tell that it was a person, given the defined features of her legs, her crotch where they met, her wider hips and her narrower waist. Eventually, even her breasts and shoulders were covered in bark like the rest of her, and solidified into an unmoving form. Joanne had long since stopped breathing, and talking, and just respirated through her leaves, like a tree would.
Instead of her arms becoming part of her tree stump body, they were pushed upward while at the same time her fingers split and lengthened like her toes had. Branches. They were turning into branches.
Eventually, and surprisingly quickly to Chris, all of Joanne was covered in bark. And then, the finer features of Joanne started to disappear. Eyes, nose, ears, mouth? All gone, leaving just a smooth front to the vine covered spheroid between the two branches of the tree. Nipples, belly button, and other sexual featuers? Also gone, melted away into the rough bark. Even her legs no longer looked like two legs melted together, but instead a singular, cohesive tree trunk. Then, rather quickly it seemed, the Joannetree started to grow, doubling in size before stopping.
Which led to Chris’s arrival home. The business meeting hadn’t been poor timing, it was specifically about Joanne. Her company was in charge of trying to protect the environment and the climate going forward. Deforestation is bad, but what if we could just rapidly grow a tree, and what if people had a personal connection to the trees that grew?
The shampoo and soap hadn’t been random products she had found, Chris had helped invent them. And now, with Joanne successfully ‘tree-ified”, a process they called “transdendrofication” at the lab, it proved that it worked, and buyers were lining up to help save the planet.
But now she had a massive tree in her yard, and no wife to be found. She shrugged as she figured it wouldn’t be any worse than the other nights alone she’s had while Joanne has been glass sculptures and water fountains, and waited to see what would happen.

What would happen was totally unplanned for, and frankly, a little bit scary for Chris.
A wasp nest had formed inside the Joannetree. Not a small nest that she could knock down with a broom, but a massive one the size of an overgrown watermelon. It was terrifying, and Chris swore she could hear the buzzing from inside the house even. She had to call an exterminator, and quickly before things got worse.
By the time one came the wasps were enraged, creating a massive buzz around the tree. Something had ticked them off, clearly. The exterminator was a professional though, urging Chris to stay inside and watching from a window if she must. He worked quickly and efficiently, clearing the hive and the wasps. Though, he returned to the house with a surprise.
“So, I found what made the wasps go crazy,” he said.
“What was it?” Chris was genuinely confused and concerned.
“Well,” the man replied, “there was a nest of baby birds. I had to move them down to a lower branch, to keep them safe, but they should be just fine now.”
Chris paid the man and smiled as he left. Baby birds. Not just the violent and off putting life of a wasp, but beautiful, peaceful birds had found a home in the Joanne. Chris couldn’t help but quietly shed a tear of happiness as she stared out the window at her beautiful flora wife.

The time had come that Chris was waiting for. It took nearly a year of worry and concern and love for this day to come. A year of seasons passing, of the Joannetree losing all its leaves, being covered in snow, and then, come spring, being adorned in fresh new leaves and even flowers. The Joannetree would be a fruiting tree, and the first fruit was the most important.
Every day, Chris examined and looked for the special fruit that needed the most care. After a week, she found it - what almost looked like a flesh toned apple at head height, just hanging there. Multiple times a day she went and cared for that fruit, making sure it had water and was clear of pests. Some of the other fruit, normal looking apples, she fed to the baby birds, while protecting this strange fruit.
Day by day it grew, and slowly, it took the form of a person. Then, it started to look more specifically like a certain person who became a tree. One morning, Chris went outside to check on it, only to find a very naked and sleepy Joanne under the shade of a tree, serenaded by the chirping of her bird family.
