[MTF, Gender Bending]

“Greg! Greg!” Jill stormed through the halls of Innovention, Inc. She was turning heads shouting like this, and rumors would probably spread about her. After all, just yesterday she left work pale as can be, and now she comes in hollering for a guy and tanned? It seemed something was up.

Jill slammed her badge on the sensor and the door to the Virtualization labs swung open. She walked up to Greg, the lead researcher of his own department. “Notice anything?” She asked, putting her hands on her hips.

Greg looked her over. “You got a tan? Nice, good for you, but I don't see what that has to do with anything.” Jill reached into her purse, pulling out a small ziplock baggie of sand she collected earlier that morning and dropping it on his desk. “This came out of your Virtual Vacation, along with the tan I have.”

Suddenly he was interested, pulling the sand out of the bag. “This is impossible,” he muttered as Jill glared at him. He noticed the response and nodded, waving his hand. “Fine, yes, not impossible. It shouldn't have happened though.” Greg began to putter about, checking notes and diagrams about the revirtualization process.

Jill sighed, coughing to get his attention. “Is this dangerous?”

Greg looked up, almost surprised to find her still there. “Uh, I suppose not? As long as it keeps reproducing these results, if you left the Virtual Vacation missing a limb or something you could just go back in and get the computer to change your avatar.”

“Change your avatar?” Jill asked, mildly confused.

“Have you not gone through all the options? All the tutorials?”

“No, I just went to the beach.” Greg rolled his eyes in response. “Look, I went through what Valerie the computer said. So if your team failed to put a tutorial in, then maybe you ought to come back and see the problem for yourself?”

Greg raised a brow. “What, are you inviting me back to your place?”

“It’s for work, and we’re going during the day. Now.” She firmly grabbed him by the wrist and led him out of his lab toward her car.

“Look, I’m just trying to say, shouldn’t we do these tests in a lab? Where it’s controlled?”

Jill shook her head as she led Greg up into the house and locked the door behind her, guiding him to the living room. “What if it’s being on the regular grid that caused it to happen? Innovention has its own power generation and filters so it could be entirely different. What if it was the orientation or the positioning? A local magnetic field? Point is, we can’t do a true test at the lab.”

Greg stood before the Virtual Vacation and looked it over. Unpowered, it looked like a bland doorway. He inspected around the main machine, crouching down to inspect it. “Well, looks like this is how you got your sand,” he commented as he gestured toward the carpet around the machine. It looked aged, as though some of the synthetic fibers had been fraying and falling apart. “The box has a failsafe, if for some reason it doesn’t have enough stored massenergy to recreate whatever is coming back from the doorway it’ll pull from the nearby matter. Inorganic matter only, of course. Wouldn’t want a cat or something being ripped apart.”

Jill nodded. It made sense, she supposed. After all, the mass had to come from somewhere. She walked out to the garage, leaving Greg perplexed for a moment before she returned with a large bag of gardening soil she had been planning to use for years and kept putting off. She set it down next to the machine atop the damaged section of carpet. “Hopefully this stops it from ruining my carpeting,” she said as though absolutely normal.

Greg gave a nod back, replying “Yeah, that makes sense.” He sighed, turning on the unit and opening the doorway into the infinite darkness. “Well, let’s head in and see what’s going on.” He stepped in, followed quickly by Jill. She looked around at the test room they were in.

“Greetings Jill, and guest.” Valerie spoke from nowhere in the room, but somehow everywhere at once. “Guest has been identified as Greg Garlson of Innovention, Inc. Is this correct?”

“Yes, thank you computer.”

Jill turned to Greg. “You said something about changing an avatar. How would one go about doing that?”

Greg shrugged. “Really, anyway you can think of it. You can simply ask the computer to change something about your appearance and it will, but we’ve found that it can be disorientating. The tutorial is supposed to demonstrate using something similar to a beauty salon. Computer? Can you take us to the avatar tutorial salon?”

Valerie responded back in her pleasant monotone. “You are not the registered administrator of this system. Jill can grant you administrator privileges, or issue the command herself.”

“Hey, Valerie? Let’s go to the avatar tutorial salon… place… that Greg was talking about, ok?”

“Of course, Jill.” The dull white loading room fading as though into swirling mist, before revealing an average salon. Stations lined the walls, with the chairs and mirrors and lights that would be appropriate at each one. The tops of the counters were lined with various hair products and the assorted tools of the trade, while drawers lined each one. Jill walked over to examine them, opening a few. Not only were there beauty products, but there seemed to be strange articles of clothing, some wigs, and then some items Jill didn’t recognize.

She held up of the stranger items she did understand: a pair of breast forms. She turned to show them to Greg, who laughed. “So, in our testing, we got complaints that a lot of the dresses in the wardrobe - “ He jerked a thumb down the hall that lead to the back of the virtual salon before continuing. “ - didn’t quite fit. Or would fit better if the woman was a little enhanced, as the subjects tended to put it. Granted it was a temporary boost only while in here, so who knows if it would work to see what your machine is doing wrong and…”

Greg trailed off mid-sentence while Jill snickered away. “What’s wrong, Greg, caught off balance?” She emphasized her point to stress the bad wordplay, giggling at her male peer looking suddenly less male. The fake silicone boobs hung off his front atop his button up shirt before they seemed to magically fade away. Except they weren’t disappearing. His shirt was getting more and more pushed out until it looked like he had his own pair of C cup breasts, perfectly shaped as though by magic.

“Why the heck would you do that Jill?” Greg exclaimed, flustered and red in the face. He started unbuttoning his shirt to get the now-real prosthetic off of his body.

“We need to test two things, right? That changes in here affect changes out there, and that the Virtual Vacation doesn’t seem to have a limit on what mass it will use to recreate things into the real world. And that’s just the first two things I can think of, we surely aren’t going to stop there.

“So you’re keeping those boobs, and we’re going to make more changes before you leave this machine. We’re going to really test this, and then test it some more. Now, are you with me?” Greg gulped. He had heard about Jill Jacklyn’s ferocity and unrelenting drive. It was another matter altogether to see it direct at himself. He gave a small nod. Better not anger the dragon, he mused.

“Good. Sit in the chair. I want to see what all these products do. If they magically become a part of you like those breasts did, we could have an interesting time of everything.” Jill started busying herself with the supplies. Time flew for Greg. He’d never been pampered like this before and he was enjoying himself immensely.

Jill watched as basic foundation seemed to hide every flaw and pore of the man’s skin in front of her, his facial hair vanishing from sight. As she accented his cheekbones she watched his facial structure reform into that of a woman’s. His eyes grew ever so slightly angular and more accented, as eyeshadow and eyeliner were applied. His lips plumped up seductively when she coated them in red lipstick. She grabbed a hairbrush with a plus sign on the handle and marveled as she stroked through his hair until his locks were long and flowing. His short hair almost appeared brown, but grown out it was a dirty blonde. She took a moment, marveling at the technology of the Virtual Vacation. This could replace almost any industry in the world. At least, they had confirmed the beauty industry so far. And the vacation industry, she reminded herself. Despite the marvels in front of her, this was a bug, not a feature, and vacations were the main selling point.

She turned her attention to Greg’s hands, after nearly wrestling him to stay in his seat and not look at the mirror. She rubbed lotion in on his hands, watching as his skin became as flawless and feminine as his face. She let herself get carried away, rubbing up the length of his arms. She blushed when she realized she had gone far enough that nearly up to his shoulders was converted into silky perfection. Greg hadn’t seemed to notice, he had closed his eyes in the pleasurable feelings it was making. Focusing on his hands, she applied some red nail polish to match his lips. She realized she was never quite this good at applying makeup, even to herself. Jill figured the computer had to be helping her, all part of the simulation. After all, why would anyone want a subpar makeover?

Jill took a step back and admired her work. For the most part, Greg’s overall body shape was still overwhelmingly male. But everything visible you could see of him yelled female. In fact, the parts she made over were worthy of being on the cover of a magazine, or walking a fashion show. It was nearly photoshopped beauty in front of her.

Greg looked up and bit his lip, not knowing how enticing that looked. “Well, can we get out of here now?” He stood to turn and look in the mirror, but Jill caught him in time.

“Valerie, end the vacation, get us to the entry room!” She exclaimed, not wanting him to see, or be mad.

“Of course, Jill.” Valerie replied on cue, and the room faded into the plain white emptiness. Jill led Greg out of the simulation in a hurry. As they re-entered the living room of reality, the machine powering the Virtual Vacation was running loudly, with fans going full blast. Greg crouched down to inspect it.

“It seems as though it did everything alright, though a good portion of your dirt is missing.” He looked up at Jill, brushing a lock of hair past his cheek before realizing he never had long enough hair to do that before. Jill stared and gawked at the beauty in her living room. A beauty who quickly down the hallway to get to the bathroom mirror before screaming and passing out.
