“Hey Tara, are you going to keep your leggings?” asked Rachel. “You’ve been wearing them all week, and I’m kind of missing our home-cooked meals.”
Tara grinned and nodded. “My leggings are super happy being leggings. I know they want to stay like this. The whole ‘hoist by my own petard’ thing was their idea in the first place, and... I mean, how can I top that last change?”
“Are you sure they’re happy?”
Tara nodded even more enthusiastically. “After Dawn hated being a hairband so badly, I realized I could tell, I wasn’t just projecting my own assumptions. My leggings are happy, my gym bag is content with its life. One of my shoes loves being worn way more than the other, but they’re both keen. And the display case...total euphoria when dusted, and just a general glow the rest of the time. I can feel it from across the room.”
