Zena sniffed the air. Bacon? Kirsty never made bacon for herself. She rolled out of bed, rubbed her eyes, and threw on a robe.
Kirsty was standing in their apartment kitchen wearing nothing but an apron and panties. She smiled when she saw Zena trudge into the room. “Good morning, sweetie. I wanted to start your day right.”
“Muh?”
“The big presentation. That’s today, right?”
Zena was suddenly very, very awake. “Oh. My. God. The presentation!”
“Don’t panic. I’ve taken the day off, I’ll help you get ready, lay out your clothes, anything I can do to make this the best day ever.” Kirsty put two hardboiled eggs and the bacon she’d been cooking on a plate, and set it in front of Zena. A cup of coffee followed it a moment later, and soon after that, some toast.
Zena ate mechanically, barely tasting the food. Her mind was reeling through the facts and figures of the business case she was presenting today. She’d rehearsed it a hundred times with Kirsty as the audience, but today she had to do it for real.
Once she was fed and showered, Zena felt much more able to face the day. She grinned when she saw that Kirsty had laid out her favourite leopard-spotted bra and panty set. They always made her feel fierce when she wore them, and she hoped that they could work their magic once more, on the most important day of her career.
Zena slipped the underthings on, purring softly. If anything, they felt even better than she remembered, hugging her curves perfectly. She posed in the mirror, grinning at it ferally and flexing her fingers like claws. “Rawr! I’m gonna eat you all up.”
Kirsty giggled from the doorway. “So fierce! Ready to face anything the world throws at you?”
“In these? Hell yes. Though I should probably wear the suit, too.”
Kirsty darted in to hug her sweetie tight. “Mmmm. I’ll be here when you get back and ditch the suit.” She nipped at Zena’s neck, making the other woman blush.
“Oh sure, make me rush the presentation so I can get back home...”
Kirsty laughed and let Zena go so she could finish getting dressed. “Stop worrying. You’ll be great.”
“I wish I felt as confident as you.”
Kirsty smiled, and brushed her hands over the bra Zena was wearing. “You behave, okay?”
“Hm?”
Kirsty shook her head, and helped Zena get ready. At the door, she hugged her fiancée fiercely. “I love you so much. Remember that, no matter what happens, okay?”
Zena smiled back. “I love you too. No matter what.”
* * *
In the boardroom, Zena’s confidence evaporated. She wished that the lunch that sat in her belly like a ball of lead would also vanish, but no such luck. She paced back and forth, clutching her notes, returning to the chart stand to check that all the charts and drawings for her presentation were in order.
Her boss’s boss popped in to see her and tell her that the clients were there, causing Zena to squeak in alarm. “It’ll be okay, Zena. I have every confidence in you. But stop pacing, you don’t want to look nervous when they come in.”
Zena nodded at the older woman. “I’ll try. Thanks, Samantha.”
“Just doing my job. You need this.”
Soon the clients were filing in, and then it was showtime. Zena started her presentation once they were settled, and could tell within the first minute that the dry recitation of facts from her notes was going nowhere. Kirsty had told her again and again during her rehearsals that she needed to smile more, to seem more friendly and less robotic.
Zena took a deep breath as she turned to the chart stand and flipped to the next page of the presentation. “I can do this,” she muttered under her breath. And just as she was about to turn back to face the crowd, she felt as if she was being given a reassuring hug. From her bra.
Zena shook her head, figuring it was just nerves, then pasted on her best smile and faced the crowd again. A few of them smiled back, but it soon faded as she launched into her spiel once more.
This time when she turned to the chart stand she whispered, “this isn’t working!” to herself, urgently. “Do something!”
And her underwear did. It felt like someone was groping her... and was that a tongue? She gasped and dropped her notecards. Staring down at the pile of scattered and now useless information she wanted to cry. Being caressed by her underthings soon drove out the sadness, replacing it with something else entirely.
When Zena turned back to face the crowd, her cheeks were pinkening slightly. Worse, her underwear wasn’t letting up. She did her best to stick to the presentation on the chart stand, ignoring her lost notes and extemporizing as best she could from what she remembered of them.
Her practice runs paid off. As her underwear got ever more frisky her mind fell back into its practiced cadences, though with a decidedly more breathless tone of voice than she’d ever used while rehearsing. Toward the end she could barely even see straight, and when she reached the end of the charts it came as a surprise.
She turned back to the crowd and squeaked, “That’s all I have. Any questions?”
Fortunately, she’d practiced answering questions with Kirsty and was able to field the questions without having to think about them. Which was good, because what her panties were doing was making thinking nearly impossible.
Then came a question about parking. Kirsty had never asked that one, as neither of them owned a car. She hissed under her breath, “stop it!” and mercifully her underwear settled down. She asked the person to repeat the question as she gathered her scattered thoughts. Even after it had been asked a second time, she still stared out into the crowd like a rabbit frozen in fear. Her panties goosed her once, and that got her talking, jabbering about underground parking and surveys she vaguely recalled reading through.
“Anymorequestions?” Her underwear was starting up again, and making it hard to breathe, let alone think. “Thankyouforyourtime! Bye!”
Zena strode out of the room with as much control as she could muster – which was precious little, but enough to keep some shreds of dignity in place. Once the door had closed behind her, she dashed for the washroom, locked herself in a stall, and shuddered through one of the strongest orgasms she’d ever felt in her life.
Once she’d recovered a little, and her breathing had slowed enough that she could think, Zena stripped out of her blouse and skirt then pulled her underwear off. She glared at the offending garments. Then she frowned. They looked almost identical to her favourite underwear, but there was something subtly off about them, other than the fact they were wriggling in protest. Each had a green silken tag in an unfamiliar style. Looking closer she saw they proclaimed the underwear as “Designs by Donna” in a full moon logo. The bra had its style listed as “Jasmine”, and the panties “Sheri.”
Zena gaped at them open-mouthed. “You two... but... How? No, wait, I can see how. Why?” The panties and bra attempted to explain themselves through interpretive dance, but Zena just shook her head. “I don’t care. I just need you two to knock it off...”
A grin spread across Zena’s face then, an evil, wicked grin. “And I have just the thing.” She dug around in her purse until she found a certain little envelope that had been there since Kirsty’s party. Inside was a short spool of silver wire. It was the work of moments to twist off two short pieces, and loop them through the conveniently provided hole in each tag.
Zena gave her underwear a wiggle. “Well? Anything to say?” She snickered. “I didn’t think so.”
She cleaned up as best she could, got dressed, and crept back to her desk, only to run into her boss. At his glower she stammered out an apology.
“I’m sorry Mr. Sampson, it won’t...”
“Go home,” he grated. “I’ll try to undo the damage you’ve done. See me in my office first thing tomorrow.”
Zena hung her head. She’d heard him use that tone and phrase with others. It never presaged good news.
* * *
Zena slumped through the doorway of her apartment, and then stared around in surprise. It was spotlessly clean. “Kirsty?”
Kirsty darted in from the kitchen. “You’re home early! I was clean... Oh no. What’s wrong?”
“I spent the afternoon being molested by my underwear,” growled Zena. “While I was giving my presentation. I don’t suppose you know anything about that?”
Kirsty’s guilty look was answer enough. Zena started swearing up a storm. When she ran out of English words, she started in on her mother’s Italian curses. Kirsty winced, Zena never broke those out unless she was truly furious.
“I’m so, so sorry. What happened?”
“My boss has called me in to his office first thing tomorrow. I’m probably going to be fired. Happy now?”
Kirsty shook her head, but her expression belied something. Zena pounced on it. “You are!” The swearing got worse.
Kirsty put a finger on her lover’s lips. “Stop.” Zena stopped her tirade, but her eyes were still glittering with fury.
“This job has been killing you,” said Kirsty firmly, “and destroying our relationship. Every waking moment together has been rehearsing that thrice-damned presentation, and before that the work was crushing all the joy out of your life. It’s a job, Zena. Just a job. You can get another one. Hell, we could both go dance at the Blue Vixen if we have to. I didn’t accept your proposal because of your job prospects. I accepted because I love who you are.”
Zena’s eyes were still flashing angrily, but when Kirsty took her finger off her lips she took a deep breath, let it out gustily, and nodded. “I’m still pissed at you for doing this.”
Kirsty hung her head. “I thought you needed to loosen up. I made the mistake of telling Jasmine and Sheri that, and they cooked up this scheme... You know how they get when a ‘legendary prank’ is at stake.”
Zena snorted, and pulled Kirsty into a hug. “Yeah, I know. I’ve been roped into a few myself. Remember the cow?”
“Oh God, the cow! That poor animal. Did you know they had to disassemble the Dean’s window to get it out?”
Zena giggled, much to Kirsty’s relief. “And the joke’s on them. I still had the silver wire in my purse. They’re just clothes now. Maybe I’ll keep them.”
“You don’t need silver for that,” said Kirsty. At Zena’s fiercely curious look she explained the price Donna had set for her role in the prank. One ‘anything’, applicable to the pranksters.
“I can turn them into anything at all? For as long as I want?”
Kirsty was only partly relieved that the furious gleam in Zena’s eyes had been replaced with an evil one. Her worry grew when Zena asked if, as part of the prank, Kirsty was included. She sighed and mumbled, “I hoped you wouldn’t spot that.”
“So that’s a yes?” asked Zena eagerly.
“Yes. You get me, too. Happy?”
Xena’s grin was a sight to behold. “Oh, yes. I could use a new set of toenail clippers.”
Kirsty shuddered. “You wouldn’t!”
“Better hope I don’t get fired, then.” At Kirsty’s continued horrified look, Zena laughed. “Oh, your face! I won’t make you something you’ll hate.”
“So you won’t change me?” asked Kirsty.
Zena just grinned and pulled her into another hug. “Oh, I didn’t say that.” She kissed her sweetie on the cheek. “I’ll make sure you’re something we’ll both enjoy.”
Kirsty smiled at that. “Oh. Okay.” She tugged Zena toward the bedroom. “C’mon, let’s get you out of that uncomfortable skirt and blouse. I want to tease Jasmine and Sheri.”
“You can’t,” protested Zena as she followed along. “They’re mindless now.”
Kirsty grinned wickedly. “They’ll still remember, afterward. Just like on the cruise. Want to re-enact that first night?”
“Ohh...” purred Zena. “I like the way you think.”
* * *
The next day, Zena nervously tapped on her boss’ door. At his gruff reply, she entered.
“Am I fired?” she asked.
“Your services are no longer required in my department,” he said bluntly. “Get out.”
Zena blinked back tears, and turned to go. She resisted the urge to slam the door behind her, and slouched her way to her desk. Samantha was waiting there with a cardboard box, to her surprise. “Thanks,” whispered Zena, unsure of her voice through her tears. “You’ve always been kind to me. Mr. Sampson has been...” Zena clenched a fist, fought to control her urge to curse. “He made this job hell.”
“That’s why I requested your transfer.”
“Transfer?” gasped Zena.
“Your talents are wasted here. Come, pack your belongings then meet me in my office. Leave the files, they’re not your concern any more.”
It didn’t take Zena long to fill the box with her few personal items. The last to go was a picture of her and Kirsty together. Both of them were grinning like fools. She sighed as she remembered that night, celebrating her new job. It felt like she’d barely smiled since then.
When she arrived at Samantha’s office, Samantha’s assistant immediately sent her in. Samantha smiled at her, and asked Zena to close the door behind her.
“Good. What happened yesterday?”
Zena ducked her head. “My underwear started acting up.”
“Your underwear. That looked like rather more than a wardrobe malfunction. What on Earth were you wearing?”
“I thought I was wearing my favourite leopard print set, it helps make me feel brave.”
“You thought... so you weren’t? What were you wearing instead?”
Zena braced herself for magic censorship to kick in, as it had whenever she tried to discuss Kirsty’s special party with outsiders. “A pair of my so-called friends got themselves turned into an identical set, and my sweetie arranged for me to wear them that day. Wait, I can tell you? You know about magic?”
Samantha grinned. “The Blue Vixen, hm? But the full moon isn’t until the weekend.”
“Yep. I get to go there on the next full moon and turn them into whatever I like. Apparently that was the price for the deal.”
“Oh! Well then. You should keep them as your underthings.”
Zena’s eyes went wide. “After what they did? Why?”
Samantha grinned hugely. “The clients loved your passion. We got the project.”
“But... but... Mr. Sampson said he had to clean up my mess!”
“They had more questions and you were... indisposed,” Samantha said with a smirk. “So we had to call him in to answer them. He didn’t do nearly as well as you did, which made him look bad.”
Zena winced. “Oh. Yeah, that’d explain the way he acted.”
Samantha’s expression darkened. “No. It does not justify the way he has treated you. You’re better than he is at his own job. I can’t get him fired, he’s good at staying just inside the lines... but I can get you out of his department. We have a new project to work on, a big one.”
“Oh?” asked Zena. “What is it?”
Samantha laughed. “The one you presented yesterday, of course. The clients have accepted the proposal, and we’ll be supervising construction. How does assistant project manager sound to you?”
Zena’s eyes went wide. “Really? That sounds... But I don’t have any training!”
“That’s why you’ll be an assistant for now. I’ll show you the ropes, but I think you’ll do fine. You have the most important skill already.”
“I do?” asked Zena, wonderingly.
“Command of detail. I saw how you handled the loss of your notes, and rather extreme distraction. You’ve got exactly the sort of mindset that project management needs, and you were wasted in Sourbelly’s department.” Samantha chuckled. “You were also outproducing half his staff.”
“Only half?” asked Zena. “I thought...”
“Half of his staff... combined. You were doing about a third of his business cases, by yourself. I don’t know how you did it.”
“A lot of homework, late nights and weekends,” Zena muttered. “Kirsty hated it. That’s why the prank got started.”
“Well. I won’t tell you that project management is a nine-to-five job, it isn’t. But it’s nowhere near that bad, either. You will have time for your sweetie, and your friends. I’m going to add a week of retroactive overtime to your timesheets. Once you get settled in your new office, take next week off.”
“But the new project...” protested Zena. “Wait. I get an office? Really?”
“And a substantial raise,” added Samantha with a grin. “As to the project, while it’s commendable you thought of that first... it’ll take at least a couple of weeks to get everything signed off and approved. So take your sweetie and your new underthings to the Blue Vixen and have some fun.”
Zena stared at her in surprise. “You want me to...”
“Get turned into something fun.” Samantha leaned forward, and whispered conspiratorially, “You know how I was ‘out sick’ for almost two weeks in February?”
Zena nodded, eyes wide. “You didn’t!”
“I was a lovedoll for my husband. Best thing I ever did.” She grinned, eyes alight with mischief. “I might even see you at the club. Joel’s been hinting he’d like his dolly back.”
* * *
Kirsty was home when Zena arrived. “How’d it... oh!” She squealed as Zena lifted her into a hug and spun her around. “You’re not fired?” she squeaked with what breath she had left.
“I’m not fired!” Zena spun Kirsty into a victory dance around their apartment. When they finally came to a rest in the bedroom, she kissed a frown away from Kirsty’s lips. “I’m not working for Sourbelly Sampson either.”
“Sourbelly who?” asked Kirsty, confused.
“My old boss. He was riding me hard to get about four people’s worth of productivity out of me. I’ll have longer hours, get paid for them, and no homework.”
Kirsty pounced her then, driving her to the bed. “Yes! So I get you to myself this weekend?”
Zena giggled. “And all next week. So... if I bought you a fantasy to celebrate, what would you turn me into?”
Kirsty purred, and pulled her sweetie against her chest. “I’d like big boobs again.”
Zena nuzzled against Kirsty’s handful happily. “I love you as you are... but that was a lot of fun. I might not want to leave after a week.”
Kirsty shook her head. “I’d miss you too much to keep you like that for a whole week. A couple of days, though...”
Zena giggled happily. “It’s a deal. We’ll go to the club, I’ll change you and the girls... and you can turn me into whatever you want.”
Kirsty’s eyes lit up with glee. “Really? You’d let me do that to you?”
“Letting you decide what I’ll be for a few days seems only fair. I get to give you and the girls new permanent shapes, after all.”
Kirsty’s eyes went wide. “Are you really going to keep them as your bra and panties?”
Zena nodded. “My boss said the clients were sold on my passion.”
“We should take their silver off and tell them the good news.” Kirsty hopped off the bed and went into the ensuite. Soon she had Zena’s new underwear in her hands. “I hand-washed them today.”
Zena pried off the twists of silver wire, and gave the bra and panties a shake. “Are you two awake?”
Jasmine and Sheri squirmed in her hands.
“I’ve got good news for you two. I didn’t get fired.”
The bra and panties wriggled cheerfully.
“But I’m still going to keep you like this.”
The wriggling stopped abruptly, and the bra perked a cup at her.
Zena hugged them to her chest. “I’ll make sure to wear you lots. Starting now.” She stripped down, and soon her bra and panties were wriggling away eagerly.
Zena crooked a finger at Kirsty. “C’mon. Let’s give them a reason to stay.”
