When Donna and her invisible travelling companions reached the Blue Vixen, she noticed that the “changing room” was empty.  She flitted through its walls and started everyone growing.  Donna’s reversion was instant, leaving her standing as a crystal-skinned woman.  Gwen was next, hair still rainbow-hued.  Bunhill became a four foot tall plush rabbit-girl.

Bunhill giggled giddily.  “Really?”

“It suits you.  Can you live with being this for the rest of the night?  I know you don’t think you deserve to be human.”  Donna’s tone made it very clear she disagreed.  “This seems a nice compromise.”

The silver-furred bunny-girl hugged Donna excitedly.  “It’s perfect!  Can I stay like this for good?”

Donna washed her with lunar power as she set Bunhill’s new permanent form.  A small circle of white fur glowed at the base of Bunhill’s neck.  Gwen raised an eyebrow when she saw it and shot a questioning look at Donna, who shrugged as if to say “wasn’t me”.

“What have ye done to me?” raged Agent Armstrong in a high, sweet voice.

Donna looked to Agent Mackie who had also grown to full size as a female version of himself.  She was studying her new body in the mirror when Donna asked, “What’s with Chuck?”

The new woman with atomic cherry red hair stormed up in front of Donna.  “What’s with Chuck is that he spent a week as an ugly girl thanks to a ‘prank’ by his sister.”

“Look at the mirror,” said Mackie, pulling Armstrong to her side.

“I’m sorry,” apologized Donna as the two athletic women stared into the mirror.  “I had no idea.  When you agreed, I assumed you were OK with the idea of being female.  Just say the word and I’ll change you back, it’ll only take a minute.  Agent Armstrong?”

Armstrong was staring at herself in the mirror, hand to her cute bob of violently red hair.  Wonder was written across her angelic face.  “I’m beautiful.”

Donna chuckled, but it was Gwen who answered.  “Well of course!  We don’t do shoddy work here.  But if you prefer something less...”  She gestured to the curviness of Armstrong’s new body.  It didn’t have the exaggerated curves of the typical Blue Vixen dancer, but it was still emphatically female.

“No!” exclaimed Armstrong, hastily.  “It was horrible, I was stuck halfway between.  Mostly girl, but enough of my ugly mug on top that...” she shuddered.  “Worse, I had no idea how long I’d be stuck.  My sister’s friend took the stone with her and left me like that.”  She snorted softly.  “Looking back, I probably deserved it.  I’d been a creep to both of them.”

“Wait a bit.  A stone?” asked Donna.  “Round, about so big, looked a bit like the Moon and glowed like it too?”

Chuck nodded.  “That’s it.  You’ve heard of it?”

“Heard of it?  It’s what started me on the path to what I’ve become.”

“Small world, huh,” mused Chuck.

“It only seems that way.  The Moonstone finds its way to where it’s needed.”

“I needed to be a girl and think that I’d be stuck that way?” asked the cherry-headed woman.

“I have no idea.”  Donna looked her over.  “You seem to take to it well.”

Chuck turned back to the mirror, and her hand went back to her brilliant hair.  “I resigned myself to the idea.  Sis got me used to calling myself Charlie instead of Charles.  The day it started fading I...”  She looked down at her body.  “Everyone I’ve told this story to, I said that I was incredibly relieved when I started to change back.  But I think I can admit now that...  I was disappointed, too.”

“Well, you’re welcome here any full Moon night, Charlie,” said Gwen.

“Not Charlie.  Charlie was the ugliest ugly duckling ever.  I learned a lot as her, but I never want to be that girl again.”

“How about Cherry, for the hair?” suggested Mackie.

“That’d be a great stage name for her,” agreed Gwen.  “Next up, Chesty Cherry!”

“Cherry...  I like it.  On stage and off.  What about you, Jim?”

“Uh... Jen?”

“No!” exclaimed both Gwen and Donna.  Gwen went on to explain that Jenna had been a favourite among all the girls, and had been killed by...  She stopped and looked at Bunhill.

“Maybe you shouldn’t be here,” said Gwen softly.

“No.”  Donna interposed herself between Gwen and the downcast Bunhill.  “She chooses, not you.  Not them.  But if you go out there, know you face the friends of several of your victims.”

Bunhill straightened her shoulders.  “I need to do this.  Apologize, if I cannot atone.”

“Good.  Let’s go face them.”

When Donna opened the changing room door, everyone’s eyes turned her way.  A babble of voices erupted, all clamouring for attention until Donna held up her hands for quiet.

“I’ll get to you all in time, no need to push.”

“And the apartment rooms?”

“Yes, the apartments too.  Later.  It’s not like you’re using them right now.  But first, I’d like to bring out some friends of mine, newcomers to the club.”

Cherry emerged first, curtseying neatly to the crowd as Duncan introduced her.  Donna stumbled over the next introduction until Agent Mackie saved her by claiming the name Mackenzie.  Gwen got cheers of recognition, of course.

“And last but not least, Bunhill.  She is here under my aegis.  Know that her actions tonight saved many lives.  However, she has also cost lives, ones close to us.  She was behind the attacks of the midnight arsonist.”

That brought out angry murmurs from the crowd, and Bunhill cowered behind Donna.  Donna pulled the trembling bunny-girl to her side.  “She has repented, and is working to make amends.  She is not the only one of her kind, and far from the most dangerous, especially now.  She has helped take down two of them so far, and will help with the rest.  Her actions will save more lives than she cost.  I have forgiven her, though she has yet to forgive herself.”

All the dancers were staring at Donna wide-eyed.  Gwen sidled up to her.  “You can lose the Goddess voice.  And height.”

Donna shrunk herself from an eight foot tall crystalline giantess to her “normal” human body.  “Ah.  Sorry.  Be good to each other, okay?”

Released from their spell the others babbled excitedly among themselves, and soon enough Carmen came forward to get her scaly body augmented – she wanted a bit more dinosaur and less dragon, but still such visible changes that going out in public would be nearly impossible.  Once Donna had dealt with the usual round of changes, she and Gwen brought the newcomers to Neysa.

“Do you have time to put some newbies through the basics?” asked Donna.

Neysa studied the two women with a critical eye, then had them walk around the green room as she watched.  “Cherry, I can work with.  She’s almost ready as it is.  Mackenzie, you’re far too stiff.  Relax a little.  Maybe get some drinks in you first.”

Cherry giggled.  “Maybe she should just be a mannequin.”

Mackenzie snorted.  “I will dance, even if it’s just once.  Can’t let you be the only one up there.”

“I’ll teach both of you,” said Neysa.  “Just don’t get your hopes too high, Kenzie.  Come, we have work to do.”

Donna watched the two agents go off with Neysa, Cherry looking giddy, Mackenzie determined.  Bunhill was standing right behind her when she turned around.  “Oh!  Aren’t you going to dance?”

“No.  But I do want to know what you were doing back there.  You had that crowd enthralled, you could have told them to do anything.  And you left it at ‘be good to each other’?”

“What are you talking about?”

“You said you couldn’t do compulsions, but what I saw there... you could rule the world.  And you don’t even realize.”

“I don’t want to rule the world,” said Donna emphatically.  “Especially not by twisting people’s minds.  Everyone here is so creative and fun, turning them into mindless drones would be such a waste of potential it’d make me cry.”

“Then we have some work to do so you don’t keep warping minds by accident.  You need to practice using and not using that voice of yours.  Think any of your friends here would be willing to be a guinea pig for you to practice on?”

Donna laughed.  “Sure.  At least half of them would find it cool.  You haven’t heard about Crazy Eights, have you?”

Bunhill’s eyes went wider and wider as Donna described the escalating bets that had been made over a simple card game.  “Are you sure you haven’t been warping their minds already?”

“These women all come here to dance and show off their breasts for money.  Every one of them has happily accepted bigger breasts formed by magic, and many other changes.  They were already warped when I met them.”

Donna looked around at the dancers warming up and practicing with their new enhancements.  She approached one inseparable pair.  “Sandy, Erin.  Good to see you back.  Did you enjoy your time as a corset?”

Sandy giggled and nodded.  “Can we do that again, but this time with Erin as the corset?”

“Sure.  But I want to ask a favour first.  That stunt I pulled earlier, commanding you all... how did it make you feel?”

They looked to each other and blushed.  “Uh... it felt really good,” stammered Sandy.  “Comforting, but also...”

“That bit about ‘being good to each other’ hit pretty hard,” said Erin.  At Donna’s alarmed look she held up her hands.  “In a good way, honest.  Just...”  She looked over at Sandy and blushed again.  “We’ve been lovers for a while now, and... that week with Sandy as my corset was amazing because we couldn’t fight.”

“You two fight?” asked Donna, surprised.

“All the time,” agreed Sandy.  “Stupid stuff.  What you said made us both realize how stupid we’d been, so we kissed and made up.  We were thinking about sneaking off to the hotel for a quickie...”

“And I did that?” asked Donna.

They both nodded.

“May I try something?  I’d like to withdraw my influence from you, to see if it’s... influence, or just imparted wisdom.”

“Will you put it back if it really is influence?” asked Erin, earnestly.

“I...  Yes, if you ask.”

Sandy and Erin grasped each other’s hand then nodded at Donna.  “Do it.”

Donna withdrew what little power she could feel about the two, making them slowly lose their recently increased busts.  “How do you feel?”

They looked at each other, then back to Donna.  “About the same, I think,” said Erin.  “I still think the fights were stupid and wasteful.”

Donna turned to Bunhill.  “Can you sense anything?”

The bunny-girl shook her head, making her ears flop.  “No.  They’re clean.  Your power made them receptive, but their change in attitude is otherwise natural.”

For the next tests, they retired to the green room to avoid drawing more of a crowd, or accidentally influencing others.  Donna tried just using her voice with power behind it, but it didn’t have much effect.  Letting herself become crystalline and growing taller boosted the effect significantly, and both Sandy and Erin knelt before her reverently.  When at Donna’s slightest suggestion they started to grovel at her feet, she shrunk back to human.  Her face was pinched as if she’d eaten something sour.  “Stop that.”

Sandy and Erin sat up, eyes glittering with awe.  “Yes, Mistress.”

Donna tugged at the power binding them, and the awed look diminished but did not die out entirely.  “How do you feel now?”

“Overwhelmed,” said Erin.

“Awed,” agreed Sandy.  “That was incredible.  I would have done anything for you.”

“Even now?” asked Donna worriedly.

Sandy tilted her head to one side, considering it.  “Not quite anything.  But for the chance to feel like that again, pretty close.”

“Betray Erin?” asked Donna.

“Anything but that.  Unless it was something she’d find fun, like turning her into a pet.”

“Pets?” asked Donna in wonder.  Before she knew it, both Erin and Sandy were rubbing themselves against her legs like overeager cats.  Donna’s magic leaked that image, causing ears, muzzles and tails to start forming on the two girls.  They noticed, grinned, and redoubled their efforts, rewarding Donna with purrs when she skritched behind their ears.

“What have I done?” she whispered to the diminutive catgirls she’d created.

“Turned two susceptible women into happy pets,” said Bunhill drily.  “I suspect they’d have been just as happy to do this without the voice.”

Donna chuckled softly.  “I suppose you’re right.  What would be a real test?”

“Cleanse them, as you did the ghouls.  Their true selves should emerge.”

Donna bit her lip.  “I’m a little worried that this is closer to their true selves than the girls we saw earlier.  And I don’t need more pets.”

The two kittygirls meowed their disappointment at that statement, and Donna apologized to them.  “My spouse is allergic to cats.  And you two have lives.  I can’t do this to you.”

She pulled power from the kittygirls, vacuuming up every last fragment of the magic on them, letting it flow back to speed the change.  Before long they were human once more.  They still knelt before her.

“Talk to me.”

“I... would go back in a heartbeat,” whispered Erin.  “Especially if Sandy came with me.  Ask anything, make us anything.”

“Sandy?” asked Donna, voice trembling.

“The same, oh the same.  Keep us together and we’ll be anything you want.”

Donna looked to Bunhill for help, but found no answers there.  A silent appeal to Gwen brought her into the room, where she stared down at the devoted pair.  “This isn’t you, Donna.”

“I know!” huffed Donna in frustration.  “But they want it so.  And I don’t know if that’s me, or them, or both.  It frightens the hell out of me that I could do this to two strong, independent women.”

Sandy and Erin giggled at that.  “We were never all that good at being independent,” said Sandy.

“We really would make better pets.  No more scrambling to make rent, or worrying about food...” agreed Erin.

Donna clawed at the magic about them, but there was nothing.  “Be yourselves,” she begged.  “Just go back to the way you were.”

They slowly stood, and bowed before her in unison.  “If that is what you wish, Mistress.”

Donna winced at the title.  “I am not your...”

“You are.  And always will be.  But we’ll do our best to return to our lives,” said Erin.  “With or without the squabbling?” she asked with a hint of a smile.

Donna sighed, and pulled them both in for a hug.  “Without.  Please live your lives and love each other well.”

“Gladly, Mistress,” they said in unison.

“And stop calling me Mistress!”

“Would you prefer Goddess?” asked Gwen ever-so-sweetly.

Donna sighed mournfully.  “That one’s going to keep coming back to bite me, isn’t it?”

“Now do you see?” said Gwen.

Donna nodded, and pulled her and then Bunhill into the hug, growing larger to encompass all four.  “I do.  I’ll do what I can to rein it in.  And fail, from time to time.  Will you help pick up the pieces?”

“Always.”
