Ms. Dennison had disposed of her usual sharp-heeled shoes for comfortable flats on the last week of school, and on the last day her serious-business dresses had been replaced by a flowing red sundress. Her long black hair was loose from its usual braid. The day was over at last, and summer beckoned outside the school walls. And yet...
She walked into her classroom to pick up her things and was surprised to see three students there. “It may be Friday, but school’s out. No more detention. You’ve all graduated anyway, it’s not like I can hold you here.”
Barry lounged in his usual spot. “Yeah. This time we can get changed for good.” He nodded toward Lorraine’s desk, where three brightly coloured ribbons lay.
“Barry and Pete I understand. But are you sure about this, Gina?”
The chesty blonde girl shrugged. “Just not gum, OK? I’m done. If the choice is your drawer or dealing with...” She shuddered. “I pick the drawer. That weekend was the best I can remember.”
“But you said you could barely even think!”
Gina’s sad smile spoke volumes. “That’s what was so good about it. Nobody will miss me. Nobody will care.”
Lorraine still looked doubtful, as did Pete. “You're sure.”
“Positive.”
“Then... Garter.” A flick of the wand, and Gina dwindled in her place, her grin growing as she shrank. Soon Lorraine could pick up the elasticated fabric band that had once been a girl. She slid it up one leg, then laced a ribbon around it.
“I’ll miss...” whispered Pete. Then, louder, “Will you put us together in your drawer?”
“Of course. My pretty panties.” A wand-flick sent the tanned, muscular teen to dwindling. Ms. Dennison tied a ribbon on the red silky result, and tucked it in her purse.
“You know what I want, Lorrie.” said Barry.
“And you’ll get it. Bra.” Lorraine shared Barry’s grin as red satin consumed and reformed his body. She picked up the bra and looked around. Nobody was around to see, so she quickly slipped her arms out of her dress’ sleeves, and swapped bras. “Mmm. You always fit so well. I should keep you like this,” she teased.
Lorraine hummed happily to herself as she packed up the last of her things, gave one last look around the classroom, then closed the door behind herself. On the drive home she fondled her bra whenever she could spare the touch and moments after she was inside her house the bra was off and “Restore” was on her lips.
Barry sat up from the floor and bounced to his feet. “I’m not a student any more.”
“No,” said Lorraine, licking her lips. “You’re not.” The wand dangled loosely between two fingers, hanging between them. “How do you want to start?”
Barry pushed the wand aside. Lorraine pouted but let Barry draw her to the bedroom where at his urging she set the wand on the bedside table. She slithered the rest of the way out of her dress and let it slide to the floor. Barry stared at her slim, athletic body with his mouth hanging open. She reached over with a finger, and pushed his jaw closed. “Like what you see?”
Barry nodded, belatedly fumbling at his belt when Lorraine started to unbutton his shirt. She tossed it aside, and pulled him onto the bed with her. “Show me.”
Later, as the sweat was cooling on their bodies, Barry leaned up on one arm to look at his ex-teacher. “So,” he asked breathlessly. “Better than the doll?”
Lorraine made a show of thinking over the question but her earlier reactions and her irrepressible, goofy grin made her answer clear. “I don't know... that was months ago. We'll have to test again.”
Barry rolled to his other side side and snagged the wand from the bedside table. “Care to rephrase that?”
Lorraine stared at the wand with undisguised longing. “I...”
“Love doll.”
She gasped and smiled so brightly as the plastic overtook her that Barry knew he’d done the right thing. He didn’t have the energy to do justice to it just then, so he dug for her toys once more. He tried a variety of them in the doll’s various holes and once his strength had returned he made use of all of them himself.
It had been a long, draining day, and by the time Barry had exhausted himself on the doll he was unable to keep his eyes open. He woke when he felt Lorrie stirring beside him. “Mmmh? Sorry, I...”
She put a finger to his lips. “Ssh. You’ve more than earned your rest, you’ve nothing to apologize for. That was exactly what I needed. But now, I need a shower.”
Barry woke again as she returned to the bedroom, towelling off her glistening and gloriously naked body. She grinned when she saw his gaze. “Ready for round three already?”
The teen blushed and looked away. “Sorry.”
Lorraine tutted, sounding just like she did in class. “No apologies. Look at me.”
Barry’s grin widened. “I’m not used to girls... I mean women who... My girlfriend didn’t like me seeing her naked.”
Lorraine’s face fell. “You have a girlfriend?”
“Had one. I fell in love with someone else, and she left.”
“Someone else?” asked Lorraine disappointedly.
Barry laughed. “Someone who’d turn me into her bra and wear me for a few hours. I was hooked on you the first time you hooked me on.”
“Oh!” Lorraine brightened. “Did you want to do that...”
“I’d rather look at you like this.”
Lorraine strolled closer. “You can touch, too.”
Barry sat up and eagerly cupped her breasts, which made her laugh. “So you do want to be a bra.”
“Later, yeah. Maybe after we eat? I’m starving.”
Lorraine laughed long and loud. “I should have known a teenager would be hungry after exercise. I’m afraid I don’t have any half cows in my freezer. Would some home-made burgers do instead?”
Barry’s embarrassed look turned into a grin. “That sounds amazing.” He hopped out of the bed. “May I use your shower before dinner?”
“Sure,” she said as she grabbed her robe from her make-up chair. “Make yourself at home.”
Barry watched her turn to the door then blurted, “How literally?”
Lorraine turned back, robe slipping off her shoulder to expose a distracting amount of cleavage. “Sorry?”
Barry tried not to stare. “Everything we just did? I want to do that again and again. That’d be a lot easier if I was living here.” Barry’s resolve wavered in the face of Lorraine’s well-practiced stony regard. “I wouldn’t take up much space. Tuck me in the drawer with Pete and Gina when you don’t want me around.”
Lorraine’s expression cracked to a grin, and she let her robe slide open a little more. “You’d let me change you into whatever I felt like, whenever I felt like it?”
Barry nodded eagerly. “Anything. Heck, make that everything.”
Lorrie dashed in close and hugged him tight. “This is going to be such fun. Go shower, I’ll get dinner started.”
“Can I be one of your kitchen knives?” Barry asked a little later as he watched Lorrie chopping up vegetables for a salad.
Lorrie pulled the wand out of her apron pocket. “Knife.” She scooped Barry up before he was entirely changed, and stroked a hand over his hardening body. Then she finished up her chopping with him, rinsed and dried him carefully, then set him on the kitchen chair and restored him. “How was that?”
“More fun than I expected, actually. Chopping up stuff made me feel productive. Useful.”
Lorrie frowned. “And that’s not a familiar experience?” She tossed the vegetables together into a salad bowl. “Here, put this on the table.”
“Sure thing, Lor.” Barry looked at the indicated table and asked, “What should I do with all these papers?”
Lorrie sighed. “Stack ‘em off to the side. Sooo much paperwork, but I don’t have to look at any of it for a couple months.”
“So you’re on vacation until September?”
Lorrie brought the salad and burgers to the table. “Summer school starts in a week. I need the hours to get more seniority. Honestly, this is all kind of new to me. I spent my first year after finishing my teaching degree trying to find work.”
Barry took a big bite of his burger then grinned hugely as he chewed. Once he swallowed his bite he said, “That’s a great burger. Thanks. So how does a first time teacher afford a place like this?”
“My Great-Aunt Silvie left it to me. This, and the wand. I think the wand’s the better part of the deal, but having a house of my own is nice. Just sooo much work. Especially the yard, it ran riot in the spring and I don’t even know where to start...”
Barry grinned. “I bet you can talk Pete into being your gardener. I’ll help around the house, Dad always had me help out with maintenance.”
“What’s your Dad going to think about you moving in with someone?”
Barry laughed, and swung his hand through the air. “He'll give me a high five. Especially when I tell him I’m moving in with the hottest woman I’ve ever met.”
Lorrie blushed, and looked back to her food. “You’re not just saying that because of the wand?”
“No, but that’s a bonus.”
After Barry had finished eating, he reached for the wand where it was sitting on the table between them. He hesitated, looking to Lorrie, but she made a go-on gesture so he picked it up. “From your Great-Aunt Silvie, was it? How’d she get it?”
“From her grandmother. Who got it from *her* grandmother, and beyond that, nobody seems to know.”
“Doesn’t look like much, does it? Just a willow twig someone polished up nice.”
Barry looked up at the startled noise Lorrie made, just in time to see her turn to wood and shrink away. He dashed around the table and pointed the wand at the stick lying on her chair. “Sorry! Restore.”
Lorrie grinned up at him as she grew back to normal. “Be careful what you say when you’re holding it. It’s on a hair trigger.”
Barry let the wand dangle in his hand, careless in his relief at Lorrie’s restoration. “And you’d rather be a love doll instea... Oops.” He stared down at where his leg was turning to plastic.
Lorrie giggled as she watched Barry change, and thought about the wand a moment too late. She tried to grab it out of Barry’s hand, but it was already melting away and becoming part of him. It left a printed image of the wand on his mitt-like hand. “Whoops. I guess you’re a doll for the next few hours. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you get to change back. After all, I can’t use the wand when...”
Lorrie looked at the palm of the doll and the wand printed there. Then she slipped her ribbon-tied panties off, and pointed the doll’s hand at them. “Pillow.” She giggled giddily as they changed. “Maybe I’ll keep you like this after all...”
After having her fun, Lorrie set her toy and cozy new pillow aside on the bed, making sure nothing was blocking their transformation. She watched them for a time, a smile on her face, then started getting ready for bed. When she returned to bed, it was to see a smiling Barry.
“Is that a wand in your hand, or are you just happy to see me?” Lorrie asked, then giggled.
“I have one question for you. Can the wand turn people into different people?”
“Yes, but...”
Barry pointed the wand at himself and said, “Girl.”
A moment later Gina was lying on the bed and blinking at Ms. Dennison in confusion. “But I was on your leg. I couldn’t have changed back. What happened?”
Lorraine sighed softly. “But it gives the new person control. Hi Gina. You’re actually still here on my leg.” She pulled the robe aside to let the confused girl see the garter she was wearing.
“How? What?”
Lorraine laughed. “Give me the wand.”
Gina looked around on the bed. “Here it is!” She picked it up and held it out to her former teacher. Lorraine took it from her carefully, then set it aside.
“How do you feel?”
Gina looked down at her naked body. “Confused. A little conflicted. I’m turning myself on and I don’t know why!”
“That’s because you’re actually Barry.”
“Oh! That explains a lot.”
Lorraine blinked. “It does?”
“Yeah. Someone inside my head is singing ‘Yellow Submarine’, and Barry knows I hate it. If I let you have control will you shut up?” Gina waited a moment, then grinned. “OK. How do I do that?”
“Do... what?”
“Let him run this body. It is his body, right?”
“I... uh... it hasn’t ever come up before. Great-Aunt Silvie’s notes said why doing this was a bad idea, but she never experimented with such eager subjects.”
“Huh. Well... maybe if I lie down and do my calming exercises it’ll help.” Gina lay back on the bed and closed her eyes.
Lorrie moved closer to the bed and quietly watched its occupant. A finger twitched, then stilled. Then her arm. “Gina, don’t fight the movement. Don’t try to force yourself to be still, just... let go.”
Gina sat up abruptly. “Woah. This is trippy.”
“Barry?”
The girl on the bed stared down at herself and started to grin. “In spirit, if not in flesh. It worked!”
“What happened to Gina, then?”
“I’m still here!” chirped Gina. “But if Barry’s going to try to bang you, I don’t think it’ll work. No way will I stay this relaxed. Oops, sorry Barry. Let’s try again.”
Gina sighed deeply. “Yeah. She’s right. My control is fleeting at best. Can you change me back?”
Lorrie nodded, and soon Barry had his rightful body back once more. He looked thoughtful. “I wonder how much of that Gina will remember.”
“Maybe nothing, that wasn’t actually her. How much do you remember?” asked Lorrie as she tucked the wand away safely in the bedside table.
Barry shrugged. “Everything. Well, not what she was thinking, as such. Some of her inner monologue, enough to chat with her.”
“And torture her with old Beatles tunes?”
“Hey, I wanted to use that body, not just ride in it passively.”
Lorrie sat on the bed beside Barry. “Why?”
“Because being a doll felt pretty good, and I wanted to know what the other would be like, too. Just for comparison, you understand,” he added with a grin.
Lorrie snickered. “Right. But since you can’t have control of the body, you’d have to hope Gina’s willing to...”
“Yeah, I don’t think she swings that way. Do you?”
“What?”
“If I was you, and you were me...” suggested Barry with a grin.
Lorrie’s eyes went very wide, then her grin grew wide as Barry’s as she reached for the drawer with the wand.
They stared at each others from bodies made new. “This isn’t even weird, really,” mused the new Lorrie. “I feel like myself. Except there’s an nineteen year old boy in the back seat and freaking out a little.”
Barry laughed. “Yeah. I guess. Should I go easy on him? Me? Uh, pronouns are weird here.”
“He says, and I quote, ‘aw hell no’. And ‘hit me with your best shot’.”
Barry pounced. Their lovemaking was more fumbling than before, each with a distracting voice in the back of their head giving advice. But those voices knew exactly what worked best, and soon both were moaning in ecstasy.
Barry lay flat on his back, exhausted. “That was... I hope I remember this when I’m me again.”
Lorrie giggled and rolled onto her side to trace a fingertip down Barry’s muscular chest. “If not, we can always try to apply what we learned.”
“Maybe not tonight, though.”
“I know something that’ll get you going again... Restore!”
Lorrie was soon staring at a copy of herself, one that started grinning as soon as it stopped changing. “Oh wow, that was different. Going to restore yourself, too?”
Her twin set the wand aside. “Nope. Oh, Barry says he doesn’t remember any of what you were doing as him.”
“I suspected as much. Oh well, I remember it well enough for both of us.”
“Ready to show Barry how to really please a woman?” Lorrie’s twin waggled her eyebrows, making the original Lorrie giggle.
“Kinky.”
“He says to think of it as...”
“No, I like it.” Lorrie tackled her twin and rolled her onto her back, both of them giggling. “Making out with myself? Who hasn't thought about it?”
It had been a long day, and before long both admitted they were too tired to continue. Lorrie rolled off her twin with a sigh. “We'll give you the full experience tomorrow.”
“Speaking of full experience...” grinned her twin, reaching for the wand.
“What?”
“Bra.”
Lorrie's face was a mask of shock until it disappeared into the pile of stretchy white fabric. She felt giant hands pick her up, but it wasn't until she was actually supporting her twin's breasts that she accepted what had happened. Being a love doll was one thing. This made her feel so small, so... used. She hoped her other half remembered that neither of them could change back until she was taken off. From the rhythmic rise and fall of the chest she was bound around, it seemed she was stuck until morning.
The bra's last thought before drifting off was that at least she was cozy...
* * *
Lorrie yawned and stretched, then hopped out of bed. Last night had been fantastic. She looked around for Barry and tried to figure out what had happened to him, and why she was wearing a sports bra in bed. It came to her just as she was taking it off, when the bra gained a grinning face that soon grew into a woman.
Barry stared down at himself. “Oh! I'd gotten used to being you. Can you believe I'd actually forgotten?”
Lorrie nodded. “I thought I was supposed to be your bra. That happens when the time runs out. Gina and Pete think they belong in my drawer, now.”
“Or on your leg,” said Barry, pointing to the one piece of clothing Lorrie was still wearing.
Lorrie tugged the garter off, then fingered the ribbon still holding it in its current shape. “I know why you want to stay. But what about the others? I should...”
Barry plucked the garter out of her hands and set it aside. “We should have a shower and some breakfast. They won't be stuck until this afternoon, right?”
“It's not exactly twenty-four hours... but yeah. A shower sounds good.”
“Want company?”
Lorrie grinned. “Sure. But it's a pretty small shower.”
Barry grinned back. “I won't take up much space as a washcloth.”
“I think we'll manage without magic, this once. If you don't mind getting intimate.”
Barry answered with a kiss that didn't get broken until they were both sweaty and in even more need of that shower. He made a very nice washcloth, indeed.
After breakfast, Lorrie continued to worry about her other guests. Barry offered to get out of the way for a bit, as he needed to get some clothes from home if he wasn't going to be sleeping in Lorrie's drawer.
After she'd seen Barry off, Lorrie untied the ribbon around a certain red pair of panties. Soon Pete was sitting up and blinking. “Human already?”
Lorrie nodded. “You can go back in the drawer just by asking. I would like to know why before I let it become permanent.”
“Is Gina still there?”
Lorrie shook her head then hiked up her skirt to show the garter clinging to her leg. “I've been wearing her pretty much ever since I changed her. Even when I was a doll and a bra.”
“You were a bra?” asked Pete incredulously. “Who wore you?” At Lorrie's loopy grin Pete laughed out loud. “Barry? But...”
“He was a copy of me at the time. How did you not hear all this from the drawer?”
Pete shook his head. “After a while things went kind fuzzy. I was just...”
“A thing?” finished Lorrie. “I got that as the bra, too. It's...”
“Peaceful? Clothes only worry is 'when is she going to wear me?'”
They shared their experiences for a time, mostly coming back to “so fuzzy” over and over. Lorrie finally asked if that was why Pete wanted to be in the drawer.
Pete shook his head, and his gaze fell to Lorrie's leg. She smiled. “True love, is it?”
Pete smiled abashedly, then nodded. “I know, it’s corny, but... yeah, I guess it is. Everyone else thinks she's just a drugged out basket case. And I guess she is, really. But it's not all her fault. Her mom...” He stopped and took a breath. He looked up into Lorraine's eyes. “Let's just say that I can understand why Gina wouldn't want to stay with her anymore.”
Lorrie patted him on the knee comfortingly. “I was going to talk to Gina next.”
“Good. Go easy on her, please? She’s had a really awful life ever since...”
“Since?”
“Look, I shouldn’t be telling you this. She should. And on her own terms, without me confusing the issue.”
“You’re sure she wouldn’t prefer a friendly face for comfort?”
Pete snorted. “I don’t think she sees me that way.”
“Oh dear. Doesn’t know you exist?”
“Oh, she knows,” Pete said with a wince. “But she shoves away any guy who shows interest in her. I don’t blame her, most of ‘em are panting after her boobs like puppies in heat. So... yeah, having a guy in the room isn’t going to help.”
Lorrie shrugged and brought the wand up. “Panties.” She left them where they lay, then slipped the garter off and untied the ribbon. Nothing happened, and she wondered if somehow she had the wrong one. She looked at it more closely, reassuring herself that it didn't match any of the others.
The wand was equal to the task, and Gina whimpered as her body came back to her. With tears in her eyes she lay on the living room floor where she'd formed and softly asked, “Why?”
“Why?” Lorraine repeated.
“Yeah, why?” Gina said in frustration.
“Why what?”
Gina sighed again. “Why am I...” She stopped, searching for the right word.
“...you?” Lorraine finished for her.
“Yeah,” the girl agreed. “I'm supposed to be in your drawer or on your leg. Why am I not?”
“Well,” Lorraine answered casually, “the boys are out of the way. So, I thought this might be a good time for us to talk.”
“Talk?”
“Exactly.”
“Talk about what?”
“How about we start with why you would rather be a piece of fabric instead of...” It was her turn to look for the right word.
And Gina's turn to come to the rescue. “...me?”
“Yeah,” Lorraine smiled in satisfaction. “You. Come on, young lady. Spill.”
“And if I don't?” Gina challenged.
“Then, I kick you out of my house and you can figure it out on your own.”
Gina looked honestly terrified, and started to shake violently. “You'd do that?”
“I...” Lorraine tried to hold firm, but Gina’s obvious distress melted her heart. She sighed, and shook her head. “No. But I can’t just shove you in a drawer and forget about you, either.”
Gina’s tremors slowed but didn’t stop. “Why not? It would be so much easier...”
“Because I'm no wicked witch, to add people to my wardrobe. I can't do it. Not without cause.”
“Not even for a lost cause?”
Lorrie sat beside the girl and helped her to sit up. “I don't believe you're a lost cause. Overmedicated, maybe.”
Gina trembled against her. “The meds just make me twitchy. I can deal with that. Dr. Wright said they might be why I bloomed so early, too.” She giggled madly. “Mixed blessing, I hate how the guys all think I'm just there as eye candy, but at least they look at me.”
“What's the matter, then?”
Gina's shuddering got worse. “The other treatments,” she whimpered. “They hurt. Mom says I have to, or the hallucinations won’t stop.”
“Hallucinations?” asked Lorraine, pulling Gina closer, petting down the tremors. It helped a little.
Gina sniffed and nodded. “I... I see things that aren’t there.”
“What sort of things?”
Gina pointed at the couch. “You said it’s just the two of us in here, but I see Pete lying on the couch clear as day.”
Lorraine looked where Gina was pointing and saw a pair of panties lying where she’d left them. “Oh. That might...”
“And there’s this old lady watching me from the mantlepiece. Not from the urn, though. It’s like she’s behind glass.”
“That’s just a portrait,” said Lorraine, nervously.
“No, I can see the portrait. It’s the same woman, but she’s just sort of lying there. Against the wall. She looks tired.”
“Aunt Silvie?” whispered Lorrie.
“She nodded at that,” said Gina, matter-of-factly.
“H... how does she look? She was in so much pain at the end... When she asked, I had to...”
“Tired, but otherwise not bad. Should I ask her?”
Lorrie nodded, wiping at her eyes with a hand. “Please?”
Gina went silent for a minute. “She says that you did the right thing. She’s glad she can watch over you. And she says Barry seems like a nice boy and that he’s no Terry? I don’t get that.”
Lorraine hugged her violently, crying on Gina’s shoulder. “Thank you.”
Gina patted the older woman’s back uncomprehendingly. “For?”
Lorraine stared up at the picture above the fireplace. “I came here after I got my degree because someone had to look after her. I’d had good memories of spending time here as a kid in the summers. One summer when I was about twelve, I came here by myself. Mom had some big thing, I don’t remember... Anyway. She showed me the wand, and turned me into all sorts of stuff. By the time I went to university I’d written it off as the fevered imaginings of my pre-teen mind, but when I got here... She told me it was real. Showed me.”
“But everyone knows magic is real,” protested Gina.
“Sure, now. Five, ten years ago? Not so much. So... that the wand was real was a revelation. And when she got sicker, and in so, so much pain... she begged me to use it on her. So help me, I did. Sealed her up behind glass and a frame so she wouldn’t change back. She knew the medical examiner, bribed him to write it up as a natural death.”
“So... you turned her into an object permanently to ease her pain?” asked Gina. “Why not me?”
“Well, for one... you’re not insane.”
Gina blinked at Lorraine confusedly. “What?”
“Pete is lying there on the couch, transformed into a pair of panties. My Great-Aunt Silvie is really there on the wall above the fireplace. Again, transformed. You’re seeing magic.”
“But if what I’m seeing is real...” a look of horror grew on Gina’s face. “Does... does that mean my mother really is a demon?”
