Button 20 - Balance
Darryl was enjoying the experience of watching someone else cook in his kitchen.  Heather served up a healthy lunch for the two of them, and they both ate in silence, ravenous.

“Thank you,” said Darryl when he was done.  “That was...  Why is it that it feels more domestic here with you, than it ever did with my wife?”

Heather shrugged.  “That one has issues.”  Then she got an impish grin on her face.  “What wife?  You can’t be married to a bed.”

“Heatherrr,” complained Darryl.  “It’s bad enough with Yana jumping into character like that.”

“Yana who?” asked Heather innocently, belied by her grin.

“It’s not funny!  I changed reality, made the spell become... real.  What if that can’t be reversed?”

“Then she’ll be a bed that can turn herself human from time to time.  She’d love it.”

Darryl sighed and slumped back into his chair, but a little smile found its way to his face.  “Yeah.  She would, wouldn’t she?  She could struggle all she likes, but if she cancels whatever spell is on her, she’d become a bed, not a person.  Still... I don’t want to be married to a bed.”

Heather favoured him with a lascivious look.  “That can be fixed other ways.”

“Heather!”

“You enjoyed yourself.  Don’t even try to deny it.”

“Still feels like I betrayed Yana,” muttered Darryl.

“Yana who?”  Heather asked, serious this time.  “Bed loved what we did.  She didn’t even protest when we put the duvet on top of her and left the room.”

Darryl sighed.  “She’s so happy like this.  There’s part of me that really wants to leave her like this, and not just because she’s happy.”

“You’re happy, too.  She’s not sniping at you, or treating you like an object.”  Heather crooked a grin at that.  “‘Course, you like that almost as much as I do.”

Darryl snickered.  “Nobody could possibly love that as much as you do.  You’d be happy to join her as the duvet, and then where would I be?”

“I’m sure I could persuade Nadine to come over and keep you company.”

Darryl went wild eyed, and he leaned back in his chair with his arm over his face.  “This is getting out of hand.  She’d probably end up as some kind of sex toy.  Where would it end?”

“With half the staff of KK studios draped over your female form as clothing.”

Darryl fell out of his chair.  “That’s not funny.”

Heather walked around the table and gave him a hand up.  “I’m not laughing.  And you’re not protesting at the idea of being a woman.”

Darryl shrugged, limping beside Heather to the living room.  He gingerly sat down on the overstuffed chair, leaving no room for Heather to sit beside him.  “Given everything I’ve been the past few months?  Having mobility, sight and speech is a win over the alternatives.”

“Getting her to change you would get rid of the bruises.  We could get her to change me into the man of the house, and you can be domestic to your heart’s content.”

Darryl shook his head.  “No magic.  She could use it to change herself back.”

“I thought you were worried about her not being able to.  Or not wanting to.”

“She wanted this.  I’m... enjoying the peace.  So.  Master and Bed it is, until...”  He smiled.

“Until?”

“You’ll see.”

The next few days were peaceful ones.  Darryl and Heather had nowhere to go, other than shopping for food.  Heather was a far better cook than Darryl, and took over the making of food but left Darryl in charge of cleaning up.

They went for walks, talked about their lives and dreams, and spent much of their time reading in the living room.  Darryl had a considerable library of SF novels, and Heather turned out to be almost as voracious a reader as he was.

On the first day, Darryl did his reading in the overstuffed chair so that he wouldn’t be touching Heather all the time.  By the third, they were lying against each other on the loveseat.

And every night they made very good use of Bed indeed.

It was the morning of the fourth day before Bed finally asked, “Master, may I have some thread?”

Darryl smiled down at it.  “Whatever for, dear Bed?”

“I miss being human.”

“Ah.  No.”

“Please, Master?”

Darryl shook his head.  “No.”

The bed trembled, and let out a long sigh.  “As you wish, Master.  Am I a good Bed?”

“You are a very good Bed.  That is why your Master will keep you that way.”

The trembling lasted much longer, and Darryl had to pet Bed to soothe it.  It said no more that day, though it was very vocal that night, as always.

The very next morning, Bed asked once more.  “Master, may I please be human?  I’m starting to forget how it felt.”

“Is that what you truly, truly want?” asked Darryl.

Bed sighed softly, sweetly.  “I no longer know for sure.  I should like to try being human so I can decide.”

“No.”

“As you wish, Master.”

The next day, once again Bed asked her Master for her humanity back.  Once again she was denied.

“Master, why do you keep me this way?  I’m afraid.”

“Of?” Darryl asked lightly, schooling his voice if not his expression into one of unconcern.

“I don’t remember what being human is like.  It’s slipping away, Master.  Another day or two of this, and I might forget what I’m missing, or why.  Then I would truly be your Bed, not your...”

“My?”

“Your wife,” whispered Bed.  “I am your wife still, yes?”

“Yes.  As odd as it may be to be married to a Bed.”

“Then, husband of mine, please let me free.”

“Yes.”

Bed gasped as she felt the strand of magic float toward her.  In a moment, she was human again, hugging Darryl and crying for all she was worth.  She was still sniffling against Darryl’s shoulder when Heather emerged from the en-suite, drying her hair.

“Oh, hey Yana.  You’re back.”

Yana nodded, revelling in the motion.  “It’s all so strange and new.  But it’s coming back to me.  Why did you make me wait, Darryl?”

Darryl helped her stand, then took a step back but kept a steadying grip on her shoulders.  “You just had to ask.”

“But I did!” protested Yana, stamping a foot and nearly losing her balance in the process.  “Woooah.  This walking thing’s going to take getting used to.  Seriously, if I’d been a bed for much longer, I don’t know if I’d ever have wanted to change back.”

“You asked your Master to change you back.  Not me.  Not your husband, your equal.”

“Equal?” asked Yana.  “How can we be equal when you control the magic?”

“How can we be equal when you can transform me into anything you like?” riposted Darryl.

“Oh!”  Yana looked shocked.  “I really did treat you badly.  As a thing to be used, not as a person.”

“Doesn’t sound so bad to me,” interjected Heather.  A moment later she was a large plush tiger with a smug look on its fuzzy face.

“So I get to use magic now?” asked Yana in wonder.  “Without the pretty-pleases or kisses?”

“Yes.  I hated that as much as you did.  Well, not the kisses...”

Yana kissed him fiercely, and was filled with a rush of power.  “I could do anything with this,” she breathed when the she finally broke for air.  “Change you forever.  Mindless, even.”

“I know.”  Darryl closed his eyes as he felt the magic surge toward him, expecting nothingness.  He was surprised that he could open them once it was done, blinking at Yana in confusion from a pretty, feminine face.  “I thought you were going to...”  He touched his head, arm brushing through a long cascade of wavy hair on its way there.

“No.  I will never touch another mind.  No erasing, and especially no hacking apart.”

Darryl looked into her eyes skeptically.  “Really and truly?”

“I...”  Yana sighed, and looked down.  “Probably not.  I hate hacking minds up, but the erasing is so easy...  How about if I promise never to erase your mind?  Again.”

“Yeah, because I’ve spent the last two days training myself not to give you magic when I’m mindless.”

Yana pouted.  “Not just because of that.  But... well, yeah, mostly because of that.  Do you hate me?”

Darryl shook his head.  “No.  Came close when you cost me my job, but...  Now I can say ‘no’ and make it stick.”  His body flickered, became male once more.

“Aww.  You’re prettier the other way.”

“True.  But that’s not what you really want me to be right now.”  A strand of magic floated in the air between them.

“Really?” asked Yana, eyes bright.

Darryl hugged her tight, the magic glowing between them.  “Yes.”

Yana pulled him tight around her body, silken and pretty.  She picked up her plush tiger, and skipped down the stairs, singing happily.

THE END  (Oh, who am I kidding.  This was a scene I’ve wanted to do for years, though.)

Yana sat at the table, pushing the last of her toast around her plate with one hand, and toying with her robe with the other.  It rippled against her skin in very distracting ways.  Eventually she tired of both, sighed, and looked over at her companion tiger plush.  A moment later, it was mostly human, save for tiger-patterned skin, pointed ears, and a long stripy tail.

Heather looked herself over and grinned.  “I can work with this look.  Got tired of having only objects for company?”

Yana nodded.  “I like having someone to talk to.”

Heather snorted.  “Not a great reason, but it’ll do.  Is that Darryl you’re wearing?  Can he hear us?”

“I promised!  Yes he can hear.  And move.  Mmmm, can he move.”  Yana hugged her husband’s silky form to her body.

“Darryl,” chided Heather.  “Leave her be so we can talk.”

Yana pouted as the robe stopped teasing her.  “No fair.”  She sighed, and slipped out of it, and soon there were three people sitting at the table.

“Mmm.  I wouldn’t have minded being that for a while longer,” said Darryl now that he could talk.

“Darryl... we need to get serious, here,” chided Heather.

“Why?  Things are finally working.  Yana’s not going crazy, and even got her fantasy of being stuck good and hard.”

Yana shuddered.  “The last couple of days...  I thought I was really going to be a bed forever.  Another day or two, and I wouldn’t have cared any more.  I seriously started to doubt I’d ever been human.”

“Was it everything you wanted?” asked Darryl softly.

“Yes,” said Yana softly.  “But I don’t want to do that again.”

“Ever?”

“Well...  Not for that long, no.”  At Darryl’s curious look, Yana pounded her fist on the table.  “I’m serious!  Leaving that kind of change for too long does things to you.  I wasn’t just getting into the role by the end.  I was just a bed, and every morning it was harder to remember the woman.”

Heather sighed wistfully.  “I want to try that.  Maybe as a dress.”

Yana glared at her.  “This is not a toy!  It’s dangerous.  You could get lost, and never come back.”

“It’s more dangerous for you,” said Heather.  “For me, you’d be there to bring me back.”

“If we remembered to,” said Darryl.  “And remembered which dress you were.  When it’s a self-sustaining spell, it’s easy to sense there’s something there.  With the bed, there was none of that.  If you were just a dress, you could get lost, and we might never find you again.”

“Oh,” whispered Heather.  “That wouldn’t be...  Damn.  Still, if you were careful, put a tag in me that made it clear what I was...”

“What about if you got torn?” asked Yana.  “There’s no spell to keep you safe.  If you were badly torn, it might k... kill you.”  Yana’s lip quavered.  “I don’t want to hurt anyone!”

“You tried to kill KK just last week,” pointed out Darryl.

“But I didn’t!  I thought about it, sure.  You were right, I could have used magic to create a pyre around her...  Instead I just skipped to the end.  I didn’t really try to kill her, truly I didn’t!”

Darryl sighed.  “This is insane.  You’re dangerous, Yana.  How easy would it be to turn someone’s tie into a garrote?  Or create a knife out of a ribbon and then magically dispose of the evidence?  God, you’d make an incredible assassin.”

Yana started to cry in earnest, face buried in her hands.  “I don’t want any of that!  I just want it to be like it was.  Fun.  Silly.  Nobody getting hurt.”

“Too late for that,” said Darryl.  “You made a hell of a mess at the studio, and you’re going to need to clean it up.”

Yana sniffed and raised her head to look at Darryl.  “I thought you changed everyone back?”

“Oh sure.  They’re all in their right bodies.  But you went from fun helpful Yana to scary witch Yana in their eyes, and probably traumatized a few of them to boot.  You need to go back, apologize, and show them not only that you’re sorry, but that you’re under control.”

“Do I have to?” asked Yana plaintively.

Heather nodded.  “If you ever want to work there again.  We’ve got a couple days to get ready.  Darryl, you said something about a leash?”

Yana went wide eyed.  “You’re serious about that?”

Darryl nodded.  “Very much so.”  While he was talking, Heather left the table and headed to her room.  “At least at the beginning.  Partly to get a laugh.  Partly to show that you are under control, because I’m holding it and not turning into a pillar of ash.”

“I wouldn’t!” Yana protested.

“And partly,” continued Darryl as if he hadn’t been interrupted, “because it turns you on.  OK, and the idea of having you on a leash makes me grin a little too.”

“What about that big speech about equality, earlier?”

“Fine.  You get to put the leash on me, too.”

Yana clapped her hands in excitement.  “Can I walk you to the park as a dog?”

“A dog?” asked Darryl.  “I... suppose that would draw less comment than having me on a leash as a human.  But not one of those poofed-up poodles.”

“How about a husky?”

Darryl tilted his head to one side, considering that.  “Sure, that could be...  Woof?”

Heather returned to the kitchen, a leather collar and leash in hand.  “Wait.  I thought you were going to wear this, not Darryl.”

“He agreed that to be fair, he should wear it too.  Want to go for a walk to the park?”  Yana held out her hands for the collar and leash, then buckled the collar around Darryl’s furry neck.

“Sure!  I just need to get dressed.”  Heather laughed as ribbons attacked her and spun into one of her favourite jogging outfits.  “Alright then.  See, your magic can do good things.”

Yana grinned and headed toward the door.  “C’mon!”

“Uh, aren’t you forgetting something?” asked Heather.

Yana looked around, tugged on the leash leading to Darryl, and shrugged.  “I don’t think so.”

Heather rolled her eyes.  “Clothes.  You aren’t wearing any.  Seriously, a week as a bed and you forget about clothes?”

Yana giggled.  “Whoops.”  Seconds later a cushion from the living room had become a pretty sundress.  “Better?”

“Except for the lack of underwear.”  Heather peered at Yana more closely.  “And now you’ve changed yourself so nothing shows.  Nice trick.  Let’s go.”

“Woof!” agreed Darryl.

* * *

Monday morning, Yana was much more nervous about the collar.  “Wearing it as a poodle was one thing,” she fussed as Darryl put it on in the car.  “As a human it feels weird.  Do we really have to go in like this?”

“You agreed.  It will make the point.  Come on, Yana.”  Darryl gave a gentle tug a the lead, and grinned at how Yana came along obediently behind him.  “You’re really getting into this.”

Yana blushed and tugged at the collar.  “Just get us inside before I jump you.”

Darryl petted her hair.  “Good girl.”  Then he had to scamper on ahead as Yana gave chase, so they made quite a scene as they burst through the doors at KK Studios.  Heather sauntered in behind them, grinning.

KK looked up at them from the desk, startled.  “Oh!  You’re back.  And on a leash?”

Yana nodded, trying not to grin too much.  Her grin faltered as the studio owner prowled toward her, a thunderous look on her face.  “Do you really think you can just show up here, all grins and giggles, after what you did?”

“N... no.”

KK got right in Yana’s face.  “You’ve got a lot to answer for,” she growled.  Then her expression softened and she took a step back.  She looked over her body, and nodded.  “Hah.  You do have better control than before.  I’m still human.  So.  Why are you here?”

Darryl prodded Yana when the silence stretched on.  Yana shot him a dark look, then turned back to KK.  “I fucked up.  Badly.  And I’d like to apologize to you, and to everyone else who was here that day.”

“Just apologize?” asked KK.  “Given what you did, that doesn’t seem like enough.”

“I’d like to help with the sets, and the costumes again.  But that’s not enough either,” said Yana, holding up a hand to forestall KK as she thought it through.  “Okay.  One gift to each, made by magic.  Anything they ask.”

“That might work,” admitted KK.  “But if you’re going to have run of the place for the day, I want some kind of guarantee that you won’t go off like you did on Friday.”

Yana winced, and clenched her fists at her sides.  “I might.  But Darryl can stop me.”

KK turned her questioning gaze on Yana’s husband.  “Can you really?”

Darryl tugged on the leash, pulling Yana close and wrapping an arm around her.  “Do you think I’d be able to keep this on her if I couldn’t?  She tried to get rid of it just then, and failed.”

KK looked the couple over, took in the way Yana was snuggled up against Darryl.  “I see.  You’ve got something very interesting going on here...”  She started to smile.  “Are you sure I can’t get you in front of the camera?  We do some tasteful ‘relationship’ videos, too, under a different imprint.”

Darryl shook his head.  “I don’t think so.”

“Pity.  ‘How to Transform your Relationship’, it practically writes itself.  You two... you really have changed.  Some people never get there.”

Yana blushed, but she didn’t leave Darryl’s side.  With Heather in tow, they headed to wardrobe where KK laid out the ideas she’d had for this week’s video.  Heather tore them apart in short order, and started sketching new ideas.  Before she’d spent two minutes with pencil and paper, Yana asked why they didn’t just try out ideas directly.

Soon there was an explosion of silk and satin adorning the dummies, and KK was nodding at the looks they’d come up with.  “Excellent.  I’ll send them in for fitting soon.  The set doesn’t require much, just drape it in more fabric like this, and a little bit of furniture.  Harem chic.”

Yana grinned happily.  “I’ll add some sparkle.  And maybe a genie lamp, somewhere on the set.”

KK laughed.  “No genies in this shot.  I won’t ask you to stay on set.  Just get it set up, and make enough dresses to cover the usual, and we’ll be fine.”

The fittings went smoothly for the most part.  Most of the actors and actresses took Yana’s presence without comment.  Steve and Tawny were both happy to see them there, and Steve apologized to Yana for setting things off in the first place.  “I’m really sorry, I had no idea it was a sore point for you.  I’d heard that... you know what, never mind.  It was a stupid idea.”

Yana looked at Darryl, who smiled at her encouragingly.  She turned back to Steve, and shook her head.  “I over-reacted, you couldn’t have known.  Minds are slippery to work with, and I tried it on myself and really, really made a mess.  I’m sorry I lobotomized you.”

Steve shrugged.  “It wasn’t that bad.  A little more extreme than I’d asked for, but I can’t say you didn’t deliver on the witless thing.”

“Not that bad?”  Yana’s voice started to rise.  “You were a drooling imbecile, how could that not be bad?”

Steve held up his hands protectively, for what little good it would do.  Darryl set a hand on Yana’s arm.  “No.”

Yana took a deep breath, and calmed herself down.  “Right.  Sorry.  Anger bad.  Can we not talk about this?”

Steve nodded.  “That seems best.  If you ever want to, though, I’d be willing.  Brains have structure, and it’s fairly well understood which parts do what.”

“How is that not talking about it?” asked Yana sharply, but without heat.

“Right, sorry.  Shutting up now.”

The other difficult encounter was Nadine.  When she saw Yana in the dressing room she startled violently, and almost fell.  “What is she doing here?” she demanded as Heather rushed forward with an armful of silks.

“Helping make amazing outfits,” defended Heather.  “Otherwise you’d be wearing the old scratchy shit.  I could make an exception for you, if you’d prefer them.”

Nadine touched the silks, and then rubbed one on her cheek.  “Oh... damn.  Damn it.  You’re not being fair.  Fine, I’ll wear it.”  She stripped out of her clothes and started putting on the silks.

“Why are you so pissed at Yana?” asked Heather as she helped.  “None of the others are.”

“The others just had their brains turned off.  Well, Tawny was a potted plant, but I think she secretly liked it.  Me?  I was a fucking pumpkin, and fully aware.  Do you know what it feels like to have your insides full of goo?”

Heather shook her head.  “Though I may have to try it.  Could be fun, with the right body.”

“A pumpkin is so not the right body,” groused Nadine.  Once the silks were in place, she flounced off without so much as a glance at Yana.

“You better make her favour extra-special,” said Heather once her friend had left.

Yana wiped away a tear.  “If she’ll let me.”

Set construction went quickly, as promised.  Yana used the hay bales to supply an explosion of sheer silks over an open structure of pillars.  A jewelled fresco illuminated one wall, and the divan in the middle of the set was huge, ornate, and covered in glittering gems.  When KK saw the set, her jaw dropped.  “Holy...  This is so far beyond what I’d imagined.  Are these real diamonds?”

Yana shrugged.  “I don’t really know.  All I asked for was bright and glittery, I can’t sense chemical composition.”

KK tapped one of the bigger stones with a fingernail.  “Doesn’t feel like diamond either.  More like plastic.  Still, it looks fantastic.  Nice work.  You three go have a long lunch, we’ve got some video to make.  I’ll gather the cast and crew around four, for the big apology and restitution number.  Okay?”

Yana gulped, and nodded.  “Okay.”

She didn’t even notice that she was still wearing the collar until the server at the deli complimented her bravery in wearing it.  Yana put her hand on the collar, then smiled at Darryl.  “Not bravery.”

They had a cozy picnic lunch in a nearby park, under a tiny gazebo made from a couple of hay bales that Yana had borrowed for the purpose.  The weather was blustery but not damp, and as they walked, Yana insulated them from the cold with thick fur coats made from the same bales.  Heather’s had tiger stripes, and drew more than a few odd looks.  She wished she could have had her built-in fur coat instead, but Yana refused.  Darryl agreed, pointing out that public displays of magic could draw the wrong kind of attention.  None of them wanted to end up in government labs, after all.

Back at the studio, KK gathered the crew around her, Yana and her companions.  “We have an announcement to make.  You’ve seen the sort of work Yana here can do.  But you also have been touched by her power against your will.  So I will understand if you don’t want to work with her again.”

There was murmuring from the others, but no shouted denials, torches, or pitchforks.

KK gestured Yana forward.  “Up to you now.”

Yana took a step forward, Darryl one pace behind her and still holding her leash.  “Everyone.  I... look, I screwed up really badly and used my magic in anger.”  She closed her eyes.  “I can’t promise I won’t get angry again.”  She reached out behind her, found Darryl’s hand, and drew him up beside her.  “Darryl can stop me if that does happen.  And will.  Right, honey?”  She turned toward him, opening her eyes again to plead with him.

Darryl smiled down at her.  “Of course.  Nobody likes to hear ‘no’, but sometimes it is necessary.”

Yana turned back to the crowd.  “To show my good intentions, I offer my magic to you.  Anything I can do for you, just ask it.”

The crowd surged forward, stopping short when KK held up her hand.  “Me first.  No stampeding the good witch.”

Yana smiled thankfully at KK.  “So.  What can I do for you?”

“I miss being robotic.  And... remember that brightness switch you suggested?  Can I get that now?”

“Sure.  Where would you like it?”

KK pointed to her stomach.  “Belly button.  Maybe a gem like the ones on the set, rotate it to change brightness?”

Yana grinned.  “That’s better than my idea.  Done, try it out.”

KK pulled up her blouse, exposing a robin egg sized purple gem.  She rotated it curiously, and her joints began to glow.  The stone moved further, glowing brighter as KK manipulated it.  Soon her eyes were glowing, as were her wrists and ankles.  Another turn lit up traceries of neon up and down all her limbs, and traceries of light through her hair.  “Awesome.  He’s going to get such a kick out of this.”

“Who is he?” asked Yana.

KK turned the gem back the other way, dialing back the light show a few steps.  “The Smut Trek you did, with the robot girl?  We put the transformation scenes on the DVD as bonus content, and some robot transformation fans spread word far and wide.  There are more fans of that kind of stuff than I thought, and, well... one of the ones that really got it going lives about an hour from here.  So I promised him a date to say thanks...  He doesn’t know I’m a robot.  Yet.”  She grinned hugely.  “I’m going to blow his mind.”

“Awesome!  Have fun.  Okay, who’s next?”

One by one, the actors came up and asked for little changes to themselves.  Getting rid of blemishes, bigger breasts, fuller lips.  The guys all had a pretty consistent request for a little boost as well.  Yana’s favourite was giving Tawny colour-changing hair and eyes.  One of the cameramen asked for a built-in light meter, which also took some concentration.

The line finally ended, leaving Nadine standing alone in the back of the room.  Yana cautiously approached her, Darryl and Heather close behind.  “Nadine?  I meant what I said.  Anything I can do to make this better, I will.”

“I don’t want you to change me,” Nadine said hotly.

“Fine.  I’ll make you something instead.”

“I just said don’t change me,” growled Nadine.  “Oh, wait.  You mean, make something for me?”

Yana nodded.  “A special dress, or just about anything, really.”

Nadine’s eyes lit up.  “Can you make one of those super-attractive dresses like the green one you wore out clubbing with Heather and me?  Or the red one that caused the spontaneous orgy?”

“Uh... to do that, there has to be a person in it.”

“Oh.  I’d be wearing a person?”  Nadine thought about that for a bit. “Wait, you were wearing someone that night?  And Tawny was, for...  Who?”

Darryl waved.  “Me.  Both times.  But I’m not volunteering for this one.”

Yana looked over at Heather expectantly, but the big woman shook her head.  “You know I’d like to, but this has to come from you.”

Yana turned to face Nadine, lip quivering slightly.  “Are you really sure?  It has to be me?”

Nadine studied Yana’s expression.  “You’re really scared of this.  Why?”

“I spent decades as something small, clothing... stuck in a suitcase until the staff at the Salvation Army opened it.”  Yana’s eyes were distant, unfocused.  “Unused for so long...”  She shuddered.

“A long, floor-sweeping dress is anything but small.  And believe me, I’d use you.  Every second.  We’ll go dancing tonight, even if it’s a Monday.  You with me, H?”

Heather nodded.  “Sure thing.”

Yana was panting with panic, barely keeping herself from hyperventilating.  “Darryl?  Do I have to?”

“You made the promise.  You know how I feel about those.”

Yana nodded.  She closed her eyes, and leaned in close for a kiss.  Magic sparked through it, and her body fluttered to the floor.

“Oh.  My.  God,” breathed Heather.  “I really didn’t think she’d go through with it.”

“Ye of little faith,” said Darryl, picking up the slithery purple fabric of his wife.  The collar and leash had vanished with her but were suggested by the black trimmings.

Nadine shucked out of her robe, and added her bra and panties to the pile.  She grinned at Darryl’s raised eyebrow, and held her hands out for the dress.  With a shake of his head, Darryl handed it over and looked away while Nadine put it on.  Heather’s intake of breath made him turn back.

Nadine was dazzling in the floor-length dress.  It clung to her curves, and teased around her legs, tight as a hobble skirt but stretchy enough that she could dance without impediment.  And she did, pirouetting in place.  Heather and Darryl’s eyes were glued to her.

Nadine came to rest in front of them, and brushed Darryl’s jaw with a finger.  “No drooling.  I see the attraction effect is in full force.”  Then she looked over at Heather.  “But you.  You’re not staring at me, but at the dress.  Jealous?”

“Of Yana?  Hell yes.  I want to be that so bad...”  Her body crumpled into a puddle of shimmering gold.

Nadine looked over at Darryl, eyes bright with mischief.  “My clubbing partner needs someone to wear her.”

“God, you’re going to be as bad as they are, aren’t you?  What is it with women and magic?”  Darryl grinned to take the edge off his comment.

Nadine shrugged.  “Girls just wanna have fun?”

Darryl nodded.  “Fine. I’ll wear...”  He looked down at his newly female and more notably, suddenly naked body...  “I’ll wear her.  Someone’s got to keep you three out of trouble, and I’m the man... or the woman, for the job.”

Nadine helped Darryl slither into the new dress.  “Does trouble include me trying to get you into bed, wearing that dress?”

Darryl laughed.  “Been there, done that.”

“Is that a no or a yes?”

“That’s a behave, and you might get rewarded.  It’ll depend on how Yana feels when she changes herself back.  I’m proud of her for sticking it out this long, but I wouldn’t expect her to stay this way all night.”

“Then let’s go show these dresses a good time,” Nadine said, holding a hand out for Darryl.

“Just a good time.  Nothing further.”

Nadine let a sly grin cross her face.  “Yana can hear us, right?  So if we go too far for her, she can stop it.”

Darryl shook her head, but took Nadine’s offered hand and let her lead the way.  “She’ll be happy going much further than I would.  Still, ‘an it harm none...’”

“What?”

“I’ll make sure nobody gets hurt,” promised Darryl.

“That leaves a lot of room for... fun,” Nadie purred suggestively.

“That it does,” Darryl said with a grin.  “That it does.”
