Button 18 - Down
Yana danced into the house, her golden dress swirling about her ankles. She only stopped when her stomach started to grumble. Yana looked over at the kitchen and sighed. Eating alone, and especially cooking alone, wasn’t any fun. Her bra disappeared into a shining thread of magic, which floated in front of her then spun itself into Darryl. He gave her a wary look, then hugged her. “That was a nice place to spend the day.”
Yana giggled. “Good. Can I talk you into making dinner? I’m starving.”
“For two, or three?” Darryl looked over Yana’s dress with a grin. “Heather, I presume?”
“Yeah. Sure, I’ll bring her out too.” Yana’s long golden dress turned to ribbons. She danced them off, grinning at Darryl’s reaction. Once she’d danced free of the ribbons, Heather reformed from the scraps, fully dressed. The blue ribbon around Yana’s wrist expanded into the dress she’d worn that morning, and Yana curtsied to her audience..
Darryl nodded to Heather. “Hi. We’ve got to stop meeting like this.” He turned toward the kitchen. “I’ll get to work. Do you two want a drink?”
Heather and Yana sat at the dining table chatting over glasses of wine while Darryl put together a quick dinner. At the table, Yana only picked at her food, glancing guiltily back and forth between Heather and Darryl as they talked about the day as if nothing untoward had happened. Once they’d finished eating, Heather asked if they were sure about her moving in.
Yana shrugged, and wouldn’t meet Heather’s questioning gaze.
“It’ll be odd,” admitted Darryl. “But we do have the space. When do you want to move?”
Heather shrugged. “I’m paid up for another month, so after that. No rush. Yana offered to help move, the fun way.”
Darryl chuckled. “Turning everything you own into a necklace, so you can carry it yourself?”
“Yeah. I have to admit it sounds pretty cool.”
Darryl pushed back from the table. “Want to see your new bedroom? When you’re not sleeping in our room as a nightie or something, anyway.”
Heather blushed. “That might happen a lot.”
They walked down the short corridor toward the front door, Yana trailing behind them. Darryl opened a door to the right, and gestured Heather to go ahead. “It’s a bit spartan, I never got around to putting more than the desk in here.”
Heather laughed as she looked around. “Yeah, I can see it could use a woman’s touch. Why didn’t you do anything with this room, Yana?”
Yana was staring at her feet. “No budget. And it mostly just stayed closed.”
“What’s wrong?” Heather asked her friend. “You’ve been quiet since dinner.”
“You two! How are you two not mad with me? You’re going on as if nothing is wrong, and I just ruined Darryl’s life.”
Darryl gave her a hug. “Oh sweetie, my life isn’t ruined. Just... accelerated.”
Yana struggled free of his arms. “You’re supposed to get mad, then we fight, then we make up and everything’s better again.”
“And if I got mad at you, you’d turn me back into a bra, or worse. Probably worse..”
Yana cursed gutturally. When she wound down, she marched up and stood in front of Darryl. “Fine. If we can’t fight, I need to make it up to you another way.” She spread her arms wide. “I’ll be anything you want me to be. Just ask.”
Darryl looked her over, and sighed. “Really? This is your solution?”
“Yes. I have to do this or it’ll ruin everything.”
He quirked a small smile. “I’ve always wanted a really nice ice cream spoon.”
Yana stamped her foot. “Be serious. I want to make this up to you.”
“You want to be my fuck toy, you mean.”
Yana nodded eagerly.
“Fine. Turn yourself into a doll.” A plastic sheen spread across Yana’s body, growing with her triumphant grin. “A mindless doll,” Darryl amended, in his best command voice.
Yana’s eyes went wide, then froze there. Her mouth popped into a surprised ‘O’, and she slowly, softly drifted onto her back.
Heather stared at the result. “Did she really just do that? She’s just a thing, now?”
Darryl shrugged. “Hard to tell for sure. Seems like it.” He scooped Yana up and carried her into the living room, Heather following behind. Darryl dumped the doll onto the couch, and sat beside her. Heather perched on the loveseat so she could stare at both of them.
“She won’t tolerate being teased for very long if she isn’t mindless,” Darryl said dispassionately. He put an arm around Yana’s shoulders, and they sagged slightly under the weight. His hand slipped into her dress and cupped her breast, teasing slowly at the inflation valve nipple.
Heather watched, shaking her head. “How long will she be like this?”
Darryl glanced at Yana. “Little over an hour. Unless I nudge a bit more magic into the spell, anyway.”
“You should. Let her have a taste of her own medicine.”
Darryl stared at the doll for a moment longer, then pushed it away to fall onto its side. “There. She’ll be like this for a day. Since she’s not protesting, her mind’s definitely gone. She can’t hear us.”
Heather sighed heavily. “Good. How the hell are you taking this so calmly?”
“I’m not,” said Darryl softly.
“Sure seems that way from here.”
“What could I do?” asked Darryl. “If I’d let my frustration with her control me, how long would I have stayed human?”
Heather winced, and leaned forward to touch Darryl’s hand sympathetically. “About two seconds. If that.”
“Exactly. I can’t let myself be mad with her when she’s around, or... poof.”
“But she’s not around, not really, and you’re still not looking mad.”
Darryl shrugged. “I’m not mad at you. Though your offer means I’ll probably be stuck on her chest every day for the foreseeable future. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to be human at night... at least for long enough to make dinner.”
Heather giggled then covered her grin. “You do make a good personal chef.”
Darryl couldn’t help but crack a weak smile at that. “At least until she turns herself into a robot like KK and doesn’t need to eat any more. Enjoy the day. Might be the last one we spend human.”
Heather had little to say to that, and just stared at Darryl. After the silence stretched on a bit too long, she shook her head. “You think I’m crazy, actually wanting that.”
“Yeah, but unlike Yana it’s in a good way. You get to step back from it when you want to. Yana works with you, needs your help. She just needs my magic,” he continued bitterly. “Wearing me means I’ll always be in reach.”
Heather moved over to sit beside Darryl, and pulled him into a hug. “Hey, hey. It’ll work out. You managed to turn her into a doll for a day. I’m sure she’ll let you do it again.”
“I don’t think so,” said Darryl, relaxing into the hug and resting his head on Heather’s shoulder. “Besides, what kind of life is that? Her bra by day, and having a fuck-toy wife the rest of the time? I could run away with one of your studio’s lovedolls and be...” He choked up, and stopped talking.
Heather stroked Darryl’s back comfortingly, then sighed and reluctantly let him go. “I better go. If I stay much longer, Yana will suspect something when she changes back. And she might well be right.” She stood up, and smoothed her skirt out.
Darryl gave her a sympathetic look. “What happened at the con is not staying at the con, is it?”
Heather shook her head, trying to look contrite and failing. “I fell for you both so hard.”
“Yana told me,” admitted Darryl. “That’s going to make this so very complicated. Well, it won’t be a boring life.”
“That’s the spirit. See you Monday. Well, at least if Yana takes her top off.”
Darryl managed a laugh, then levered himself out of the couch to see Heather to the door. “Monday it is.”
He didn’t return to the living room, leaving Yana lying on her side, alone. He figured it didn’t much matter, since she wouldn’t remember anything, anyway. Instead he went back into the guest room, and opened one of the desk drawers. In it was a sheaf of handwritten notes, which he pulled out and started to read. Once he was done, he fired up the computer that mostly sat idle on the desk, and started to write.
A little after midnight Darryl yawned, stretched, and headed up to bed. He tossed and turned trying to find a comfortable position. He’d become used to sleeping in inanimate forms and having a body at night was now an oddity. After ten minutes he sighed and went downstairs to fetch Yana. Spooned up against his inflatable wife he drifted to sleep.
Darryl spent most of Saturday writing as well By dinnertime, he could feel the spell on Yana fraying. He debated waiting on dinner until she changed back, and even sat her at the table. Then he imagined what she’d say, what she’d do... and extended the spell for another day.
Sunday was much the same, until Aunt Bea called. Darryl soon found himself spilling out the story of the past week, though there was little to tell as he’d spent most of it as Yana’s necklace. The bitterness, however, took much longer to spill.
“I don’t know what to do, Aunt Bea. I’m tempted to put a week’s worth of magic into Yana’s mindless doll spell to give myself a head start, and get the hell out. Take up llama-herding in the Andes, or something.”
“That seems a trifle extreme, don’t you think?”
“Is it? Is it really? When I’m around to feed her magic, she’s a... a stereotypical Greek goddess, with about as much self-control as the ones Ovid wrote about,” groused Darryl.
“And when you’re not empowering her?” asked Aunt Bea gently.
“She fell apart. She can’t stand not having magic at her disposal now she’s had a taste of it.”
“So what would leaving do to her?”
Darryl choked on his next words. “Make things even worse. Because she’d never stop looking. I’d be looking over my shoulder, terrified, for the rest of my life. Can’t you do something about her?”
Aunt Bea’s long silence was telling. “No. She’s far more powerful than I am. We knew that specialization led to power, but nobody left alive had any reason to think it would be so great. Or could afford not to be both a source and a shaper. I suppose the legends of familiars make more sense now.”
“That’s no help.”
“You don’t need my help,” Aunt Bea answered reflexively.
Darryl sighed. “I know, I know. I know what you’re going to say next. The power to deal with her is within me, if only I would open my eyes to it.”
“See? You don’t even need me anymore. My job here is done. Just remember, Yana needs you. And have fun!”
“But...”
“Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to make plans for a camping trip. A long one, far far away.”
“Aunt Bea!” Darryl protested, but the line was already dead. “Well, I guess it’s up to me. Great.”
Darryl made the nicest meal he knew how, ate quietly, then brought Yana down to the living room and positioned her about where she’d been before. He could feel the spell fraying, and it took immense willpower not to extend it once more.
Yana blinked back to normality, and sat up. “What’d I miss? Where’s Heather?”
Darryl snorted. “She went home so she wouldn’t do anything too forward while you were out.”
Yana laughed. “I wouldn’t have minded if she’d used me. Did she use me? Did you?”
“No. Honestly, it would have been like banging that doll you got at the studio. Not the same without someone inside.”
Yana smiled, and her body rippled with plastic once more. “Then let’s do it the fun way.” The sex was athletic, exhilarating, and exhausting. And when Darryl ran out of steam, Yana offered to make him the same as her, instead of turning him into a dildo. Darryl accepted, gladly, and actually laughed when he turned into a copy of Yana.
“This is what you want?” he asked from plastic lips.
Yana picked up a pillow off the bed that they’d eventually made it to. It shrunk into a double-headed dildo made of clear plastic. “Threatened?”
“Not by that. Show me what you’ve got.”
They were still going at when the sun rose. Much of the bedding was missing, converted into all manner of imaginative toys for the two dolls to use. Suddenly, Darryl’s alarm started to blare.
“Augh! Why is that damned racket going off on a Saturday?” asked Yana.
Darryl shut it off, and scrunched up her face worriedly. “It’s Monday. I extended your mindless doll time all weekend.”
“WHAT?” Yana shouted.
Darryl cringed from Yana’s expression. “I’m sorry.”
“Crap, that means I need to get ready for work right now! Oh, I’m going to be so wasted. Can I even drink coffee like this? Better change things up...”
Yana stood in front of the mirror, naked. The seams and plastic sheen of her doll-body faded, becoming unblemished flesh-tone silicone. There was even make-up built into her face. “There. Much better. I could get used to this.”
Darryl cautiously got out of bed to stand beside Yana, posing like her in the mirror to highlight the contrast between the two of them. Yana flashed her spouse a predatory grin. “Mmmm, I want to keep you like this. But I need a dress, something flashy.”
And that was that for any protest Darryl might mount. Silk fluttered toward the floor, was scooped up before it hit. Yana wrapped herself in it and smiled at her reflection. “Perfection itself. Let’s go see what the world thinks of me now.”
Yana breezed through the door at KK Studios and waved to her boss. “Still want to be a robot?”
KK grinned back at her. “Heck yeah. I had so much energy this weekend. Where does it all come from? I never got hungry.”
Yana shrugged. “Beats me. But I love it.”
The studio boss studied Yana intently. “You’re synthetic? I can’t even see it. You look... real. I wonder if the actors would be willing...”
“Just ask,” asked Heather, coming up behind them. “Willing to what?”
Yana pirouetted in front of her. “See anything different?”
“Other than that awesome dress? Nope. Where’s Darryl?”
“He’s the dress. I wanted to give him the full experience.” Yana bounced up and down. “You couldn’t tell that I’m not real?”
Heather leaned in closer, sniffed at Yana. “Ah! So you aren’t. Nice work.”
Yana grinned. “I didn’t sleep at all last night, and I should feel like hell... but I’m fine!”
Heather raised an eyebrow. “Sounds like I missed a great party. Who do I need to bribe to get me a body like that?”
“Say please,” teased Yana.
“Pretty please with sugar on top?”
Heather was soon studying herself in the mirror in wardrobe, her clothes hanging off a chair. “I feel... oddly normal. A bit more energy, but I otherwise feel like me.”
Yana studied her from her perch on one of the other chairs. She was sitting on it backward, her hands on the back, chin resting on them as she studied her work. “I could make your body hot pink and glossy instead of skin-tone.”
“Just from here,” Heather put one hand just above her breasts, and the other at the top of her thighs. “To here. As fake as you can make it. Hot pink nipples, but shiny skin-tone elsewhere so it won’t show under a light dress.”
The changes rippled down her body, skin as shiny as a polished mirror, nipples looking like wet candy. They ended with a hot pink hole between her legs, looking as fake as a cheap sex toy. Heather stroked a hand down her side. “Oh wow... I feel like my skin is made of lube. So slick.”
“You like?” asked Yana hopefully.
“I’m gonna have to get dressed now, or I’ll be in here playing with myself all morning.” Heather reluctantly slipped back into her bra and dress, grinning when Yana turned both hot pink to match her nipples. “Let’s go get a set built.”
The morning passed in a blur of magical set construction and wardrobe alterations. KK complimented her on the set-work once again, though the actors took it in stride. Heather managed to slip one of their new tearaway ball-gown designs into the wardrobe, and the actress who wore it was thrilled, especially at the reactions she got when it came apart. They had to shoot that scene several times, enough that Yana got tired of restoring the dress and worked out a way to make the tearing reversible.
Yana spent the afternoon at her desk, when she wasn’t needed for dress restorations. Heather joined her late in the day. “You look bored.”
“So much of this stuff is the same every day. File this paper, call that supplier, ship these videos. A machine could do it.”
Heather chuckled warmly. “You are a machine.”
Yana fixed her with a glare that made Heather flinch fearfully. “You know what I meant.”
“So change Darryl back into a copy of you. I really wish I could have seen that, by the way. Did he make a good woman?”
Yana grinned. “She was very enthusiastic. Come home with us tonight and you’ll see. We could use a new toy.”
Heather bit her lip, looking both eager and uncertain. “It’s one thing to be your nightie, but... is that a good idea?”
“It’s a great idea.”
Heather got no further chance to protest as her body had become even more doll-like, and was already deflating. She pawed at the open valve at her chest ineffectually, then crumpled. Yana folded up her newest toy, tucked it into her purse, and went home humming happily to herself.
When she reinflated Heather, Yana was surprised that she didn’t start moving. She shrugged, and cut Heather’s spell apart. Heather shuddered back to normality, then stared at Yana. “That was the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me.”
“What, deflating?” asked Yana, puzzled. “It’s not that bad.”
“I felt my insides leaking out of me! Then my mind started to go, slowly. I lost memories, language, my sense of self... in the end, there was only fear, chaos, then nothing. Don’t do that again.”
Heather froze, at first in fear at the look in Yana’s face, then locked in place as her body became plastic once more. Air hissed from it.
“Don’t tell me what I can’t do. Ever. There is nothing I cannot do.”
“Please...” begged Heather’s eyes as she slowly collapsed, mitted hands held up in supplication to Yana before they too started to droop and wither.
Yana tried to look away, then took a deep, shuddering breath and closed the valve. “I... I’m sorry.” She fell to her knees and started to cry. “I can’t stop myself.”
Heather wrapped her restored arms around Yana and pulled the crying woman into a hug. “There, there. I’m sure you didn’t mean to, but... I could feel my guts melting away again.”
Yana sniffed. “That happened the first time I turned into a doll, but all the other times it’s just felt good. Darryl must have done something...”
“You could ask him how he did it,” suggested Heather.
Yana’s clothes tumbled off of her body into a puddle of golden fabric before reforming into her husband. He crouched with the other two, hugging the now naked Yana as well as Heather. They stayed like that for a time before Yana softly asked how Darryl had made it possible for her to deflate.
“That was more work than it looked,” he said with a smile. “I’m glad you noticed. You have to focus on turning the person into just the doll’s skin, not the air as well.”
“Oh!” said Yana, smiling. “That’s all there is to it?”
Air started hissing out of Heather. “Yana....”
“Does it feel bad?” Yana asked urgently.
Heather shook her head. “But I was looking forward to din...” she crumpled the rest of the way, unable to finish.
“Dinner?” asked Darryl.
“Please,” answered Yana. “I can’t remember when I last ate.”
“I’ll make enough for three.”
Darryl laughed when he brought the food to the table. Yana had set a third place, and put the now reinflated Heather there, propped up in place. “She might like to eat, too.”
Heather grinned when she returned to normal. “OK. I see your point. That was fun. Thanks for getting it right. And thank you, Darryl, for dinner.”
None of them had seen a proper meal in some time, and they fell upon the food like starving animals. Not another word passed their lips until every plate and bowl was empty.
Heather sighed happily. “Oh, so much better. Thank you guys. I should probably get going.”
When she made no move to get up Darryl said, “Or you could stay the night. We could set up the guest room, I’m sure Yana could make something into a bed.”
“I’d rather stay in your room,” said Heather with a brazen grin.
“Volunteering to be a nightie again?” asked Darryl.
“Or just a fly on the wall watching two dolls going at it all night...”
Darryl looked over at Yana, who blushed. “I may have told her about last night,” she admitted. “And I really do owe her for the way I deflated her earlier.”
Heather leaned forward, grinning. “You do, at that. So, are you going to turn into a sexy toy for me?”
Yana’s blush deepened, and she started to shrink.
Heather clapped. “Oooh, you are! If that’s what I get out of the deal, you can traumatize me any time.”
“Heather!” exclaimed Darryl. “You don’t know what you’re asking.”
Heather prowled around the table and scooped Yana up. “Maybe not. But this looks like fun...” She held up a double-ended dildo shaped like Yana’s body with a long series of intertwined tentacles where her legs should be. “Hm. How am I supposed to use this, there’s only one woman here...”
Darryl’s sigh had a distinctly feminine cast. “You had to ask.”
Heather started to giggle, then Darryl joined in. Once they’d both calmed down, she looked Darryl over. “You’re awfully cute as a girl. I thought Yana said she’d made you look like her last time?”
Darryl got up from the table and went to the powder room under the stairs. “Huh. I look more like me than her, this time.” He turned back and forth, looking at his new body. “Nice. Feels... disturbingly real.”
“Is that OK?” asked Yana in a tiny, squeaky voice.
Darryl slipped his shirt off, exposing his bare breasts. He looked over the body Yana had given him, cupped his chest experimentally, and smiled. “Yeah. This feels... Is it wrong to turn yourself on just by seeing yourself in the mirror?”
Heather laughed. “Why do you think some of us take so long in the bathroom?”
Darryl turned around to face her. “Really?”
“Oh come on, Yana has to have told you I swing both ways. And my God you’re cute like that. Almost makes me wish I was a guy.” Heather squirmed as she felt her body start to change. “Yana! What are you... OOOH!”
Yana had wriggled her way out of Heather’s hands and into her top, and a long sinuous shape was working its way lower on the big woman’s body. Once it found its mark, Heather began to moan in earnest, and fell to her knees.
Darryl rushed to Heather, kneeling with her. “Are you OK?”
“Ohhh, wow.” Heather’s voice was a deep rumble. “This is...” She tore her dress off, revealing a broad muscular chest without the slightest hint of breasts. Her panties were trying and failing terribly to conceal a monster erection with Yana’s face on the tip.
Yana grinned. “Ta-da!” After the silent stares stretched on, her smile wavered. “What do you think?”
Darryl was still kneeling, putting him face to face with Yana. “You are insane.”
“And?” asked Yana hopefully.
“I love you so much. This is going to be...” Darryl looked up at Heather. “Are you OK with this?”
The lustful look in Heather’s eyes was answer enough. Then that bass voice rumbled, “I just want to throw you over my shoulder, carry you up to the bed, and ravish you.”
Darryl’s grin grew wider. “Then what are you waiting for, big boy?”
Soon Yana was pinned between two heaving bodies, immobilized more surely than any ropes could have done. A distant part of her mind contemplated what would happen if she broke the spells, and the rest of her told that bit to shut up for once and enjoy the ride.
Yana hadn’t given her partners robotic endurance, so both wound down and slept after a time... with Yana still pinned between them. She let out a muffled sigh of contentment, and drifted off to sleep as well.
In the wee hours of the morning Yana’s change wore off, and she drew the others around her as her nightie and its sash.
Yana rose to the sound of the alarm, staggering out of bed to face herself and her new nightie in the mirror. “Coffee... or plastic...” She felt a thread of magic practically thrust into her hands, and smiled at its source. “Plastic it is.”
Yana let her nightclothes fall away as her body changed and danced in front of the mirror in her sleek new body. She had no nipples, features or flaws of any sort below her neck, and her breasts were little more than gentle swells. The opposite of a sex-doll, she looked more like a mannequin for streamlined swimsuits. Yana grinned at the thought, and seams formed at her shoulders, wrists and hips. She contemplated the image for a moment, shook her head, and lost the seams again. “No way I could stand still that long,” she murmured to nobody.
Yana looked down at the fabric pooled at her feet. A piece floated up from it, turned thinner and thinner until it was nearly transparent, then wrapped around her chest. Her body didn’t need the support of a bra, but the sparkle and shine of this one looked pretty on her. After a moment spent admiring how good her husband made her look, she brushed a hand over the filmy bra and blew it a kiss.
The rest of the fabric spiralled into yet another long, flowing dress, this one in sparkling emerald. Yana flicked a little magic through her hair to clean and untangle it, and smiled at the perfection in the mirror. “Ready for whatever this day has to throw at me,” she declared.
It turned out she was over-prepared for the day. There was little enough to do at the studio. Some minor wardrobe work that took only a few moments, and paperwork that barely engaged her brain at all. KK came by just before lunch to ask where Heather was, and Yana just pirouetted to show off her dress. Her boss sighed. “Well, as long as the work gets done and she’s happy. She is happy, right?”
“She loves being a dress.” At KK’s dubious look, Yana added, “Want to ask her?”
“Sure.”
An emerald head emerged from the front of Yana’s dress, and blinked eyes that looked like faceted gems. “Yana, it’s hard to see like...” The facets went away, and Heather’s face blinked once more. “Ah! Much better. Hey, KK. What’s up?”
“Just checking in with my favourite wardrobe girl turned wardrobe. Have you got next week’s outfits ready?” KK asked briskly.
“Not yet, but it’s just cheerleader outfits. Unless you want to change up the patterns, we’ve got lots of those ready to go. Plus with Yana’s help we can rewrite the entire wardrobe in a couple minutes.”
“I just don’t want a repeat of last Monday. We’re well ahead of schedule this week. If tonight’s editing goes well, you’ll have all of Friday for fun projects. I know the crew have some ideas they’d like to try.”
Yana grinned and clapped her hands. “Great! You’ve got some really creative people, it’ll be fun to see what they come up with.”
KK turned to go, and Heather’s face flattened away into the dress once more. KK hesitated, then turned back. “There’s one little thing. All the glowy robot bits you gave me?”
Yana grinned. “Living up to expectations?”
“Yes, but... well, I’m getting tired of having to cover up so much when I go out. I saw the ultra-realistic robot stuff you did earlier.” She peered more closely at Yana. “And you’re doing it again to yourself. You’re less curvy today, but... hm. It looks really good on you.”
Yana’s cheeks dimpled at the compliment. “Thanks.”
“Anyway. Can I get normal elbows and knees, and maybe dial the light show back a bit elsewhere?”
“Done. Or...” It was Yana’s turn to study KK carefully. “I could add a switch that lets you turn it lower or higher.”
“If I had someone to show off to, that’d be fun. Maybe later.” KK looked over Yana’s dress, then shook her head. “I can’t tell that’s a person. Doesn’t she get bored like that?”
“Nah. I turned her mind off when I changed her back to a dress.”
“You can change minds, too?” asked KK, looking thoughtful.
“Just on or off. I tried only turning part off, it was...” Yana made a face.
KK nodded. “Interesting. And a little scary. She’s... just a thing, not a person at all.”
Yana smiled. “Yeah. Isn’t it cool?”
“Not the word I’d have used. I suppose it must be relaxing, though,” KK mused.
“Oh yeah. When you come back, it’s like you’ve had the best sleep ever.”
KK raised an eyebrow. “You’ve done it to yourself?”
Yana nodded. “Stupid husband wouldn’t use me as a mindless sex toy, though. That was the whole point.” She sighed.
KK laughed, and shook her head. “To each their own.”
When Yana finally got home, she started dancing and singing a silly tune. “Tomorrow’s Friday, I get to change things...” Soon her dress and bra were dancing with her, human once more. After dinner, Heather pointed out that Yana had promised to reward her if she ‘traumatized’ her again.
“Oh come on,” protested Yana. “Being a dress isn’t traumatic. You like it.”
“You erased my mind! Made me just a thing.”
“And you loved it.”
Heather hrmfed, and crossed her arms, but there was a playful grin on her lips. “I missed out on most of a day of feeling myself wrapped around you. You should change yourself to make it up to me.”
“I’m not turning myself into clothing,” said Yana hotly.
Heather did her best not to flinch. “Didn’t say you should. What else have you got?”
“There’s always the bed-girl trick,” suggested Darryl.
Heather clapped her hands excitedly. “I heard that, but I didn’t get to see it. Please?” She made puppy eyes at Yana, who laughed and led all three of them up to the bedroom.
Yana lay on the bed, then her clothes and limbs melted away into it. Her body softened and expanded, shifting so that her breasts became pillows with her face perched between them. “C’mon, give me a workout,” she urged.
Heather jumped onto the bed without hesitation, turning catlike midair to land on her back, limbs splayed. Darryl stared at her wide eyed as she gestured him closer. “C’mon, big boy. Yana wants to get used by us.”
“But... Married? Vows?”
Silken tentacles whipped out from the bed, pulling him closer. He struggled against them, but still ended up dumped on top of Heather. Their clothes fluttered away as ribbons. “Yana!”
“You know you want this. It’s not like we haven’t all three made love in various combinations.”
“But you’ve always been in the mix before, so I could think I was making love to you, and Heather was just sort of... around.”
“Hey!” protested Heather. “No, wait. That sounds like fun. Can I be the bed?”
Heather’s body melted out from under Darryl, until he was just lying on the bed. The tentacles let him go, and he pushed up to look down at it. Heather’s face was on the left pillow/breast, and Yana’s on the right. “Both of you?” he asked.
“If you want to make love to me, you have to make love to her, too.”
Darryl started to grin and pump his hips. “I can work with this.”
* * *
In the morning, Darryl was pleasantly surprised to wake up human. He checked the bed, but it was featureless. He called out his wife’s name, but there was no answer. He could feel the glow of her magic, though, and gave the bed a kiss. “Time to get up. You wouldn’t want to miss Friday at the studio, would you?”
Yana flowed out of the bed and into a warm hug with Darryl. “Nope. C’mon, let’s get breakfast before I turn you into my bra for the day.”
Darryl sighed. “Sure.”
“What? You don’t like being my bra?”
“I do, but...”
Yana’s eyes flashed. “But what?”
“Last night was the longest stretch I’ve spent human in weeks. I’m spending a lot of time... not human. Once in a while, it’s fun. But all the time? When do I get to write? When do I get to just... be?”
“C’mon, don’t spoil this now. I don’t want to fight about this.”
“Then don’t turn me into your bra.”
“Fine.” Yana’s tone and posture made it obvious that it wasn’t, and that Darryl was heartbeats away from not having one.
“You can get magic from me just as well as a human,” he offered. “I’ll drive you to the studio, stay out of the way, and write. Please?”
Yana sighed. “Okay, fine. I won’t change you today.”
It wasn’t until they were sitting in the car that Darryl thought to ask where Heather was. Yana grinned, and patted her chest. “We’re still together, like last night.”
“So she’s part of your body? Which part?” asked Darryl curiously.
“All of it. She gets to feel and see everything I do.” Yana flashed him a grin. “Just like last night.”
Darryl thought about that and started to grin. “That could be fun. Being someone else.”
Yana crossed her arms and pouted. “At least someone thinks so. Heather’s being all cranky about it.”
“You can hear her? What’s that like?”
Yana made a flinging gesture. “You have her, and find out.”
Darryl twitched as he felt magic flow through him. “You promised you wouldn’t change me.”
“And I haven’t. You’re exactly the same. You just have company.”
Darryl shook his head and started the drive to KK studios. Yana rushed in ahead of him, and was off to the set. He settled in at Yana’s desk with his papers, and started drafting more notes for his story.
A little later KK came by and did a double take. “Darryl? What are you doing here?”
“Writing. Yana can draw from me just fine from here.”
“Oh. Sure, whatever works. I’ve got to run, but... have you seen Heather?”
Darryl laughed softly. “She’s with me. Yana stuffed her into my body.”
KK shook her head. “As long as you two are happy. I’ve got to go keep an eye on your wife, she’s getting a little out of hand.”
Darryl sighed. “Don’t I know it.”
After KK left, Heather’s voice echoed in Darryl’s head. “We should probably see what she’s up to.”
“I’ll feel it if it gets too bad. How are you holding up?”
The voice in his head grumbled. “I’d rather be your shirt, but... it’s interesting. I always figured guys were just girls without boobs, but it’s not quite that simple.”
“You forgot the penis, for one.”
“Eh, you’re not using it right now. Going to the bathroom’s going to be...”
Darryl shuddered. “Why do you think I’m not drinking anything?” He went back to writing, soon forgetting the rider in his body. Until she started pointing out his spelling errors, anyway. And suggestions on the storyline. Good ones. Soon Darryl was just accepting that a voice in his head was helping with the story. To be honest, it wasn’t that much of a change... one of the voices in his head was just a little louder than the others.
Suddenly, Darryl’s head jerked up and he stared toward the studio.
“What?” asked Heather’s voice.
Darryl got up and started running toward the studio. “She just pulled the heaviest thread I’ve ever felt. And she’s not happy.”
Darryl threw the studio door open, and took in the sight before him. Obviously, they’d been filming some kind of transgender scene, as all the people in the room – even the ones behind the cameras – were now female. The one in front of Yana was tilted at an odd angle, barely holding herself up, and starting to drool.
“Is that bimbo enough for you?” asked Yana hotly.
“What did you do to Steve?” asked Tawny. She poked at the drooling figure, and it wobbled but stayed upright.
“Ripped his fucking mind in half, like he asked,” snarled Yana. “Happy now?”
“You didn’t need to turn him into a vegetable,” grumbled Tawny, moments before she turned into a giant pumpkin.
“Anyone else?”
“You could have at least made her something pretty,” said Nadine. Her eyes went wide as Yana whirled on her, and her hands went up in a defensive gesture just as they turned into leafy fronds. Her face became a silken flower, and then she shrunk to fit a small pot.
KK stormed up to Yana. “Stop that!” Everyone in the room except for KK and Yana stopped moving instantly. The studio boss looked around and blinked in surprised. “What did you do?”
“Stopped all of them,” said Yana with a hysterical tinge to her voice. “They were already robots, so no mind, no movement.”
“Change them back this instant!” roared KK into Yana’s face.
Darryl gasped as he felt more heavy threads fly out.
“And now they’re stuck like that,” said Yana in the soft tone that Darryl recognized as her most dangerous.
“Why you...” KK raised a hand for a blow that never landed. Her body flashed into an ashen sculpture of crackling black spines.
“Yana!” exclaimed Darryl.
Yana turned to face her husband and her face fell. “You can’t... I didn’t... No!”
Darryl felt the wave of magic cresting toward him and called out, “You promised!”
Yana stopped, grappled with the magic, then with a cry of terror she vanished. A small black shape fell to the floor where she’d been standing.
Darryl stumbled toward it in a daze. “Oh no... No, no no...”
“What?” asked Heather softly.
“That was the good stuff,” Darryl said hopelessly. “She’s mindless, stuck... they all are.”
