'Til the Right One Comes Along (part 2 of 2)
by DKFenger and JMD
Monday morning, Lynda rushed down the steps, passing her mother in the hall. “Coming through,” she spat out as her mother pressed against the wall to get out of her way. “Gotta go. Running late.”
“Okay,” her mother shouted back. “You girls have a good day.”
“Girl,” Lynda corrected, stopping long enough to grab her car keys off the hook by the back door. “Cyndi's staying home today.”
Her mother cocked an eyebrow down the hallway. “Okay,” she nodded. She waited a bit, then added, “Where?”
“By the pool,” Lynda replied over her shoulder as she rushed out the door.
Her mother stood in the hall for almost a minute before her curiosity got the better of her. “The pool,” she repeated to herself as she headed to the den. Moving to the window, she looked out into the back yard.
There was Cyndi. The girl was standing completely naked at the edge of the in-ground pool. She stood with her arms held back behind her and her chest thrust forward. Her head was tossed back with her lips pursed as if to give someone a kiss. From head to toe, her entire body had been turned into what looked like stainless steel. From her lips, a steady stream of water was flowing up and out until it fell down into the pool before her. Two more streams came from each of the very erect nipples on the girl's exposed breasts.
Lynda's mother just stared at the sight for a bit. Then, she turned away with a smile. “Well done, Sweetheart,” she gushed to her now absent daughter. “Well done, indeed.”
-----
When Lynda came home that afternoon, her mom was sitting in the den reading. Seeing her daughter, she sat down her book. “Hey, Sweetheart,” she greeted. “How was your day?”
“Not bad,” Lynda answered. “But a bit quiet,” she added with a smile. “I left my bracelet here, too.”
“Ah.” Her mom glanced over her shoulder and out the window. “I see. Nice work, by the way. How long are you planning on leaving her out there?”
“I don't know,” Lynda admitted. “At least until tomorrow evening. I still have a paper to finish, after all.”
“Okay,” her mother nodded. “Well, then, I'm going to have to ask that you at least tone her down a bit.”
“Tone her down?” Lynda repeated with a questioning expression. “Like how?”
“You're going to have to at least add a bikini to her.”
Lynda's face fell. “But if I cover... I'll lose the...” She pointed a finger from each hand at her breasts, then moved them forward to indicate something coming out of them.
“I know, Sweetie,” her mom consoled, “and that's a shame. But for the sake of your father, please do it. The poor man has exiled himself from the entire back end of the house for fear that he's going to see something he shouldn't. So, if you don't mind...”
“Mom!” her daughter huffed. “This is Cyndi we're talking about. There are bushmen in Africa that have seen everything she's got to see.”
“Young lady!”
Lynda sighed. “Fine,” she agreed, moving toward the door. “But this is a clear attack on my artistic expression.”
Her mother picked her book back up. “I'm sure you'll recover,” she said, unable to keep the smile off her face.
-----
On Wednesday, Cyndi was back to her regular spot as her friend's panties and, after two days of no kind of contact, the girl wanted to talk. And talk. And talk. And the main thing she wanted to talk about was her coming date. Lynda was really happy for her friend, even if Cyndi's constant chatter made it hard for her to follow her classes.
Since school had started, Lynda had been making it a regular practice to take her lunch in a secluded part of the campus away from the more crowded quad. It allowed her and Cyndi to talk to each other without having to resort to telepathy. It was a quiet place near the pond the school was named after. Lynda just wished that people wouldn't litter so much, as all the trash ready spoiled the view.
“You're going to be my dress for my date, right?” Cyndi popped up with suddenly.
“What?” Lynda shouted, spitting out the last of her coffee. “I don't think so!”
“Why not?”
“Because,” Lynda explained, “I'd rather not end up folded over a chair somewhere while you have your way with Matt. That's why not.”
“Gur-earl,” Cyndi stated, her grin obvious in her voice “if I have my way, there won't be time to fold you over anything. You'll be lucky if I take you off at all.”
Lynda just shook her head, though she was smiling while she did it. She started to gather up her trash, as well as a few empty cups that had been left on the table. “Well...” She stopped when she noticed someone walking across the area. “Oh, look,” she said, waving. “There's Matt now.”
“What are you doing?” Cyndi asked.
Lynda looked down at her lap in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“With your hand,” Cyndi clarified.
Lynda's glance moved up to her raised hand. “I'm just waving to...” She stopped as she realized what Cyndi was getting at. She immediately dropped her hand. “Oh, crap,” she hissed between her teeth.
“Yeah,” Cyndi said with humor in her tone. “I can't wait to hear you explain this one. Because here he comes.”
Lynda looked up in horror. Sure enough, Matt was on his way over. He was obviously trying to place where he knew her from. “Any suggestions?” she whispered to Cyndi.
“You could always tell him the truth,” her panties suggested.
“That I was your dress?” Lynda scoffed. “I don't think so.”
“Then you're on your own. Good luck.”
Lynda frowned at her lap, then forced a smile on her face. Looking up, she saw that Matt had closed the distance, stopping on the other side of the table. “Hi,” she said hesitantly.
“Hi yourself,” Matt answered, returning her smile. “It's been ages. How have you been?”
Lynda stared at him like a deer caught in the headlights of a Mack truck. Cyndi giggling in her head wasn't helping either. “Uh, look,” she explained. “I think there's been a mistake here. I... uh... thought you were someone else. You don't really know me.”
“Well, we'll have to do something about that, won't we?”
“Excuse me?” Lynda asked.
“Excuse me?” Cyndi asked at the same time.
“There's this nice little coffee shop just off campus,” Matt went on. “Why don't we...”
“Hold on,” Lynda cut him off. “Are you hitting on me?”
“Cute little thing like you,” he said smoothly. “Why wouldn't I?”
“For one,” Lynda answered, holding up her left hand, “I'm engaged.”
“But not yet married,” Matt commented.
“Second,” Lynda went on, ignoring him, “don't you have a date on Friday?”
Matt looked confused. “I don't think so.”
“Yes, you do,” Lynda corrected him. “With Cyndi.”
“Cyndi?”
Lynda's eyes narrowed at him. “The girl you met last Saturday night. The one you took to that same nice little coffee shop just off campus.”
Matt looked confused for a second, then realization showed on his face. “Oh, her.”
“Yeah, her.”
Matt let out a dismissive laugh. “Yeah, well, I could tell that wasn't going anywhere. If I was going to have any chance of finding some company that night, I had to get rid of her somehow. So, I told her that to make her go away.”
“Get rid of her?” Lynda repeated.
“Shame really,” Matt shrugged. “When I saw her outside that movie theatre in that tight little dress, I was sure she would put out.”
“I wasn't that tight,” Lynda whispered.
“Sorry?”
Lynda started to say something else, but stopped herself. “You know,” she did say, “forget it. She gathered her trash and got up from the table. “I've got a class,” she said, picking up her backpack and turning to leave.
Matt followed her. “Now, hold on,” he said. “There's no reason to go away mad. I'm not really a bad guy. Let me buy you a latte and...”
Lynda stopped and turned on him. “Did you miss the 'engaged' part?”
“Not at all,” Matt said. “I was just wondering what kind of guy makes his fiancée eat by herself.”
“Not that it's any of your business,” Lynda defended, “but he's not here. He goes to another school far away from here.”
Matt's face split into a wide grin. “Ah,” he oozed. “I see. Let me guess. He asked you to marry him just before he left, right?” From the look in her eyes, he knew he was right. “And you couldn't just let him leave after that,” he went on. “You had to give him something special to celebrate.”
“What? No!”
Matt looked disappointed. “Really? Not even a going-away lap dance? Poor guy. I sure hope he's having better luck wherever he is now.”
“Milo's not like...”
“Yeah. You keep telling yourself that, suga,” he said, turning to leave. “But trust me on this. That ring doesn't mean anything. You might as well take the useless thing off.”
Cyndi finally found her voice. “Oh, shit...”
“Useless?” Lynda repeated angrily. “Useless!” She looked down at the stacked-up cups she had gathered off the table. “My ring is not useless,” she shouted, dropping her backpack. “But you are, you pig!”
A second later, there was a small lump of rock in the rough shape of a small hog where Matt had been. “Lyn...” Cyndi's complaint was cut off as she found herself face down in the grass between her friend's feet. “Ow,” she moaned softly.
Lynda expertly stepped over her prone friend and picked up the stone pig. Dropping it into the top cup in the stack, she again released the magic of her ring. This time, it was the first cup in the stack that was her target. In an instant, it became a stone weasel, taking the pig with it. It dropped into the next cup down. It had barely settled into the bottom, before that cup became a stone snake with the weasel and the pig somewhere inside it. As the changes continued, Lynda walked across the clearing toward the nearby pond.
Cyndi sat up and looked after her friend. Being behind Lynda, she couldn't see exactly what her friend was doing to Matt. But she had a clear view of where she was heading. “Shit!” she hissed as she got up from the ground and took off after her. “Lynda! Stop!”
If she heard Cyndi, Lynda chose to ignore her as she turned the final cup into a small stone toad. She held it up to her face. “Still think my ring is useless?” she snarled at it. “Say hello to the other toads for me.” With that, she pitched the little sculpture as hard as she could into the waters of the pond.
“Lynda!” Cyndi called again as she came up beside her friend. She stared out at the concentric ripples moving out from the spot where Matt had disappeared under the pond's surface. “What the fuck did you just do?” she asked quietly.
“The world a great service,” Lynda answered, her voice still angry. “He's going to be staying there for a long LONG time.”
“What do you mean?”
“I used the ring on him five or six times,” her friend explained in satisfaction. “He's buried so deep, he's not coming back anytime soon. I'm even thinking about taking it off and putting it away in a drawer when we get home. Think you can manage being human for the next few weeks?”
“Weeks?” Cyndi shouted. “Have you lost your mind? You can't leave him out there for weeks.”
“Why not?”
“Why not?” Cyndi spit back at her. “Lynda, that pond will freeze up solid in a month or so. What happens to Matt if he changes back then?”
Lynda opened her mouth to shout back, but stopped when what Cyndi had said registered. “Oh.” She looked out at the now calm surface of the pond. “I didn't think of that,” she admitted.
“Well,” Cyndi told her, “now that you have, change him back.”
“No!” Lynda shouted back. “You heard what he said. About you. About Milo. That pond's not going to freeze for a while yet.” She turned and headed back across the clearing. “He can stay there for now.”
Cyndi grabbed her arm. “No, he can't,” she insisted. “Change him back... NOW!”
Lynda spun back at her. “Why do you care? You heard him. He wasn't interested in anything from you but sex.”
“He's not the first,” Cyndi said matter-of-factly. “He won't be the last.”
“And you're okay with that?” Lynda asked. “That all they see you as is some kind of sex toy?”
“Hell, Lynda,” her friend said with a sigh. “It's not like they're the only one's doing it. Do you know how many times I was the one using them? Take away my boobs and give me a penis, and you'd hardly be able to tell us apart.” Her expression hardened. “Now change him back,” she ordered.
“Fine!” Lynda shouted back, calling up the ring's magic again. “If that's how you feel, let's get you ready for your date.”
Cyndi's eyes widened as she felt the change happen. It was immediately obvious that she wasn't fabric this time. She was something more solid, though parts of her were soft. Really soft. It took her only a few moments to realize what she was.
Lynda, meanwhile, stared down at the pocket pussy that used to be her friend. “Crap,” she whispered in embarrassment.
“Feel better?” Cyndi asked.
“Not really, no,” Lynda admitted, to herself as well as her friend. She concentrated for a second before adding, “Oh, Cyndi. I'm so sorry.”
“Forget it,” her friend said back. “But I'd really like to be something else right now please.”
Lynda bit her lip. “Actually, THAT'S what I was apologizing for.”
“What...” Cyndi stopped as she realized what her friend was trying to tell her. “The ring's out of changes.”
“I'm afraid so.”
Cyndi sighed loudly. “You know,” she said, “that thing's sense of humor is really starting to get on my nerves.”
“I'm sorry,” Lynda said again.
“Yeah, yeah,” Cyndi said. “Let's just get me out of sight before some other guy comes along and sees me as an invitation.”
“Ew.” Lynda reached down and picked up her sex toy friend. She crossed to her backpack and slipped Cyndi inside. “I'm going to skip my last class. This skirt is a little short for going without panties.”
“Okay with me,” Cyndi agreed. “The sooner I'm safely back in your room the better.”
Lifting her backpack onto her shoulders, Lynda smiled. “I thought you didn't mind being used as a sex toy.”
“Only if I have a say in who the user is,” Cyndi amended.
Lynda turned and looked back at the pond. “What about Matt?”
“Nothing we can do about it now,” Cyndi answered. “He'll just have to stay where he is for now. One night won't kill him. We'll come back and get him out tomorrow.”
Lynda just nodded, then turned and headed for the parking lot.
-----
As soon as she was awake the next morning, Lynda rushed to her underwear drawer. Opening it, she pulled Cyndi out. Then, she pulled her vibrator out of her friend, noting that the batteries had died sometime overnight. “Sorry about that,” she said. “I should have put fresh ones in last night.”
“No sweat,” Cyndi told her. “It was nice while it lasted. Thanks. Now, are you ready to go get Matt out of that pond?”
“If we have to,” Lynda sighed. A second later, her friend went from sex toy to human. “But I've been thinking. If he goes back the way he came onto the campus, he'll go by the dog park. What do you think about turning him into a fire hydrant when he gets there?”
“Who are you?” Cyndi asked with a smile. “And what have you done with Lynda?”
“What do you mean?”
“You left me spitting water from my tits. Then you wanted to leave Matt stuck for months. Now, this. Girlfriend, you are way more evil than I ever was. Remind me never to REALLY piss you off.”
Lynda managed a weak giggle. “That was nothing. You should see Mom when she gets going.”
After a nice breakfast together, the girls climbed into Lynda's car and headed down to the college. They decided it would be better if they didn't have to face Matt when he was restored, so they hid behind some bushes where they couldn't be seen.
“Okay,” Lynda said once they were ready, “what should I change?”
Cyndi held her hands out. “Me, obviously.”
“Obviously,” Lynda agreed. “So, what do you want to be?”
“What else?” Cyndi answered. “Panties.” She smiled when Lynda said it with her. Then, the smile faded. “It's really all I've ever been good at anyway.”
“That's not true,” Lynda disagreed.
“Isn't it?” Cyndi countered. “Think about it, Lyn. I was never very good in school. I probably wouldn't have passed if you hadn't forced me to go to classes with you. And how did I repay you? By trying to trick you into becoming my clothes... forever.”
“You were never serious about that,” Lynda insisted.
“Sure about that?”
Lynda hesitated. “Uh, pretty sure.”
Cyndi gave her a sad smile. “See. I'm a failure as a friend. I've never had a relationship with a guy that's lasted more than a couple of days. I'm even in danger of losing my Evil Queen Crown to the nicest girl I know. So, do the world a great service,” she said, using Lynda's comment about Matt. “Make me your panties and leave me that way.”
Lynda just stared at her for a moment. “Where is all this coming from?”
Cyndi wouldn't look her in the eye. “Let's just say that after the batteries died in your vibrator, I had a lot of time to look at my life. And I didn't like what I saw. I'm not a good person, Lynda.” She paused for a second. “I don't deserve a Milo.”
Lynda looked from her friend to the pond. “This is my fault,” she said
Cyndi looked up at her. “Your fault? How is this...”
“You immediately knew what he was up to,” Lynda said, not turning around. “I was the one that convinced you to go with him. And then, I had you pretending to be something you're not. Pretending to be me. And when it seemed to be working, it...” This time, she turned to face her friend. “When he turned out to be...”
“Lyn...”
Lynda took her hands. “But you can't give up on yourself just because of one creep.”
“It's not just one creep,” Cyndi pointed out. “It's a whole series of them. I quit.”
Lynda's eyes hardened. “Like Hell you do,” she fired off. “So, Matt was a douche. And yeah. There are plenty of guys like him out there. But there are lots of good guys out there, too. You just have to take the time to find them.”
“That's just it,” Cyndi told her. “I don't know how to find them.”
“That's where I come in.”
“You?”
“Me,” Lynda smiled. “I'll be there to advise you every step of the way.”
“Yeah,” Cyndi said sarcastically. “Because that worked out so well.”
Lynda sighed. “The point is... You're my friend Cyndi. My best friend. Face it. If it wasn't for you trying to trap me as your clothes, I would never have met Milo. And then, while we were dating, you were right there, helping me to open up to him in ways I never would have done on my own. You brought us together. Now, it's my turn. I'm going to help you find your Milo.”
“Just like last weekend?”
“Exactly.”
“For how long?” sniffed Cyndi.
“Until he comes along.”
“You promise?”
Lynda drew a heart across her chest. “Promise.”
Cyndi nodded with a smile. “Okay. If you keep helping, I'll keep looking.”
“That’s my girl,” Lynda said, pulling her into a hug. They stayed that way for a bit, then Lynda sighed. “Now, I guess we better get the douche out of the pond.”
Cyndi pulled away with a smile. “Yeah. It's probably poisoning the fish,” she grinned.
“So,” Lynda asked with a cocked eyebrow. “Panties?”
“Panties.” Cyndi fluttered to the ground. “A thong?” she questioned when she saw what she'd become.
“Yup.”
“But you don't wear thongs,” Cyndi said.
“I'm making an exception,” Lynda told her. “For my friend.”
After making sure no one was around, Lynda slipped off her panties and replaced them with Cyndi. After that, she started changing her friend into various forms of thongs. When Cyndi became black satin, Matt suddenly surged up from the pond. He was muddy and soaked to the skin. He looked around in confusion for a minute, then stormed off without a backward glance, completely missing Lynda in her hiding place.
The girls giggled at how angry he appeared. “Yup,” Cyndi commented. “Heading straight for the dog park. You still planning to turn him into a fire hydrant?”
Lynda laughed. “Tempting. But looking like that, I think, is punishment enough.” She thought for a second, then added, “I could turn his pants into a chastity belt. That would certainly screw up his weekend.”
“Nah,” Cyndi commented. “Next creep.” At Lynda's confused look, she explained, “If I'm going to keep attracting them, we might as well get some fun out of it.”
Lynda just shook her head. “Are you sure I’m the evil one?”
“Hey,” Cyndi pointed out, “who’s wearing who as their thong?”
-----
They spent that evening talking about places to meet guys. Cyndi, of course, wanted to hit the clubs, but Lynda shot that down right away. Instead, she scoured the events listings in the paper, looking for possibilities.
“There's an exhibit down at the art gallery,” she tried.
“Ick!” Cyndi shot it down.
“How about a poetry reading at the library?”
“Double ick!!”
And so it went. Lynda would read an event, and Cyndi would pooh-pooh it. They finally decided that a concert by a local garage band sounded the most interesting.
When she got home on Friday, Lynda rushed up to her room and took off her panties. One shortened skirt later, and Cyndi was sitting on her bed. “Here,” Lynda said, slipping off her ring and holding it out to her friend. “Get your dress picked out while I grab...”
Before she could finish, she found herself fluttering down to the floor. From the bed, Cyndi stared down at the dress that had taken the place of her friend. “I thought you said you weren't going to be my dress tonight?” she asked.
“I'm not,” Lynda confirmed.
“Then why did you turn yourself into one?”
“I didn't do this,” Lynda snarled. “You did.”
“How?” Cyndi asked. “You haven't even given me the ring yet. This had to be you.”
“Nice try,” Lynda countered. “But I'd already taken the ring off. I couldn't have done this.” She paused for a second. “But you're right,” she said, a little calmer. “I hadn't given it to you yet. I didn't even make it to the bed before I changed.” She thought some more. “Do you see the ring anywhere?”
“It's right here on the floor next to you,” Cyndi said, picking it up. With the other hand, she picked up her friend. “So, if you didn't do this... and I didn't... who did?”
“Hold on a second,” Lynda answered. “Let me think.” Cyndi waited patiently, until Lynda suddenly burst out with “OH SHIT!”
“What?”
“I promised,” Lynda told her.
“You did? When?”
“Yesterday,” Lynda answered. “When I told you that I'd help you find your Milo.”
“Yeah. So?”
“Cyndi,” Lynda said, trying to remain calm, “think about what I said. I promised to be there for you every step of the way.”
“Right?”
“Just like last weekend,” Lynda went on.
“Okay?”
“Last weekend,” Lynda repeated. “Last weekend, when I was...”
Now Cyndi understood. “...mine,” she said, finishing Lynda's thought.
“Exactly,” Lynda agreed. “I didn't do this. You didn't do this. The RING did this. It's holding me to my promise.”
Cyndi turned her eyes to the ring in her hand. “So...”
“So now,” Lynda reasoned, “every weekend... until you find Mr. Right... I'm going to be...”
“...mine,” Cyndi repeated.
“Looks that way,” Lynda confirmed, then sighed. “Mom's going to kill me.”
Cyndi just stood and stared at the ring in her hand for a bit. “Mine,” she said a third time, this time with a smirk.
“Cyndi...?”
She turned to the dress. “Oh, don't worry, Lynda,” she reassured her friend. “We'll fix this... eventually.” She set Lynda on the bed and slipped the ring on her finger. “But first...”
“First...?”
“First, we're going to have to make some changes,” she grinned. “Cause, girlfriend, pretty as you are right now, you're just not what I need tonight.”
“Oh, crap,” was all Lynda could think to say.
Two minutes later, Cyndi’s legs were clad in skin tight leather pants that had once been her friend. As she posed in front of the mirror, Cyndi said, “There. That’s better.”
“And this is how you plan to attract Mr. Right?” Lynda asked, dripping sarcasm.
“Maybe not Mr. Right,” Cyndi admitted. “But you know... Sometimes a lady just needs Mr. Right-Now.”
“Cyndi!” Lynda protested. “You wouldn't.”
“How long have you known me?” Cyndi asked in reply. “Besides, I still have an evil queen crown to reclaim, don't I?”
Lynda was still complaining as Cyndi headed out.
