Cat Crazy 1

“Candy, meet Lenny.  Lenny, my girlfriend Candy.”

The woman so introduced looked momentarily puzzled, then smiled and crouched down to hold her hand out to the cat.  “Hello Lenny, pleased to meet you.”

The large black and white tomcat prowled closer to the auburn-haired woman his associate had brought into the small apartment.  He sniffed at her fingers, then purred approvingly.  Then he meowed plaintively and trotted over to his food bowl.

“Oh, George, haven’t you fed him?”

“Of course I have,” George grumbled, but at a look from his date he dug out another tin of tuna and opened it.  Lenny meowed approvingly, and wound his way between Candy’s legs as he waited for his repast.

Soon George and Candy were sitting on the apartment’s one couch, with a bottle of wine and two glasses in front of them.  Before George had finished pouring, Lenny hopped into Candy’s lap and proceeded to settle in as if he owned the place.

“I hope you don’t mind him.  He’s special, and very dear to me.  Despite being a lying liar who knows a soft touch when he sees it.”

Lenny turned his head to George and stuck out his tongue before settling in for a serious grooming.

“He’s special indeed,” cooed Candy, giving George a skritch between the ears.  “I’ve never seen a cat with such striking violet eyes before.  What breed is he?”

“I have no idea.  My family found him on the front porch one morning shortly after I was born, and he’s been with us ever since.  The day I moved out to go to university, he showed up on my doorstep five hundred miles away.  I’ve moved around a lot since then, and he always comes with me.”

Candy took a sip of the wine, studying George.  She’d fallen for his rugged looks the first time they’d crossed paths at the diner where she worked.  He wasn’t classically handsome, and always looked a little on the ragged edge.  She found his grins charming.

“I see.  So I should understand that the cat comes first, hm?”

George snorted.  “No.  I’m just glad you two are getting along.”

Lenny yawned hugely, then started kneading Candy’s leg with his paws.  She giggled, and gave him another skritch.  “That feels nice... a little tingly.”

George’s eyes widened.  “Lenny!  I barely got a chance to talk to her...”

“It’s just a little kitty-kneading.  All cats like to make things change shape to suit them.”  Candy frowned, and poked at her leg between Lenny’s paws.  “I feel... soft.  What’s going on?”

“Lenny’s... really good at making things change shape.  Or people.  You’re just lucky he likes you so much.”

Candy set her glass down, and put her other hand to her head.  “I’m feeling very weird all over.  What’s going...”  She touched her ear.  It was moving, slipping up her head and becoming longer, and pointy.

“It looks like you’re turning into a cat.  Or if I’m very lucky, a catgirl.”

“But... why?”  Candy’s voice sounded rough, as if she’d suddenly developed a cold.  Fur was sprouting down her leg, appearing from under her skirt, and her feet no longer fit her shoes.

“As I said, you’re lucky he took a shine to you.  Usually the women I take home turn into mice.”

Candy squeaked at that.  “Mice?  Little mice?”

George nodded.  “Lenny likes to hunt mice.  He keeps them alive for a long time, but eventually...”

“How many women has he killed?” Candy growled with fear in her voice and her newly slitted eyes.

“None.  After a few days, the mice change back into women.  Unharmed, but they generally run screaming afterward.  That’s part of why I keep moving around a lot.  Lenny, stop that.  I like this one, I’d like to...”

Lenny meowed possessively, and started kneading faster.  The changes sped up, and Candy started to shrink.

“What’s happening to me?” she meowed plaintively.

“Looks like cat, instead of catgirl.  Pity.”  George turned to Lenny at took up a scolding tone of voice.  “I am not going to let you do that to her, you dirty cat.  I can’t stop the change, but I can keep you two apart if I have to.”

Lenny finished his kneading, and butted his cheek against the fuzzy feline cheek of the pretty ginger tabby sitting in Candy’s clothes.  She meowed back at him cutely, and looked up at George with very wide eyes.

George sighed.  “I guess it’s the bedroom for you, then.  Sorry about this, Candy.  You’ll be back to normal in a couple of days.  Sooner, if I can talk Lenny out of this.”  He reached out to pick her up, and got a hiss and a claw swatted across his hands in response.

“Candy!  What has gotten into you?  If I leave you with him you’ll...”  Candy blinked violet eyes at George, then turned toward his cat and trilled at Lenny happily.  Her tail was low and to the side, in a gesture that George knew all too well.

“Lenny!  You randy little monster.  You made her in heat, to boot?  What, the neighbourhood cats aren’t good enough for you?”

Lenny didn’t dignify that with an answer.  Instead, he started grooming Candy, which made her trill even louder.

“That’s it.”  George grabbed Candy by the scruff of the neck with one hand, and under the belly with the other.  He ignored her claws, and started carrying her toward the bedroom.  Suddenly, her violet eyes flashed and she stopped the clawing and started kneading at him instead.

George stopped abruptly as he felt a familiar tingle and softness spread along his arm.  “What?  Candy, you too?”  The tingling spread much faster than he’d ever felt before, and he collapsed to his knees as his legs gave out.  His body grew soft and wide, and his mind faded away as his head filled with soft stuffing.

Candy patted the brand new giant cat-bed with her paws happily, then chirruped an invitation to Lenny.  With a happy meow, he lept up beside her.

George woke groggily, feeling his body shifting as he tried to rise.  His arms were still soft, feeling full of fluff instead of muscles, so he just lay on the floor for a time and tried to figure out just what had happened.  He failed.

“Lenny?  What’s going on?”

A sultry catgirl walked out of his bedroom with Lenny in her arms.  Trim and athletic, her body was entirely unlike Candy’s... but the face was familiar enough under the faint dusting of fur.  The violet eyes were new, though.

“Candy?  What happened?”

“Your friend here.  He plays a little rougher than I like, though.”  She set Lenny on the floor, and shooed him off.  “Go terrorize the neighbours’ cats, love.  I’ve got some unfinished business here.”

George slowly sat up, and stared at the vision before him.  Her fur pattern had changed from the mottled orange he remembered.  Her muscular stomach and chest was covered in creamy white fur, with black and orange stripes on her sides.  She looked more like a tigress than a catgirl, and had the muscles to match.

George got slowly to his feet, and found himself eye level with Candy’s chest.  Her breasts were if anything smaller, and their nipples were hidden under the fur.  He licked his lips.  “You look incredible.”

“Thank you.  It took a few tries to get it right.  You like it?”

“You did this?”

Candy nodded, her big triangular ears perked forward and focussed on him.  “I learned a lot from Lenny last night.  He’s more than a cat, but... happy to be what he is.  I can’t blame him, being a cat is fun.  But I think this could be a lot more fun.”

George gulped, then licked his lips and looked up into Candy’s face.  “I bet.  But... why me?”

“You didn’t know?  Without you, Lenny’s just a cat.  You’re the source, not him.  So I could leave, and go back to being Candy... or I can stay with you and be so much more.  Stay with me.”

George grinned.  “Cool.  Out of curiosity, what would happen if I said ‘no’?”

Candy’s grin got wide and toothy.  “You were still my source when you were a cat bed.  So I bet you’d still be a source as my dress.  Better behave.”

“I don’t know.  Being a dress over all that,” George gestured up and down Candy’s lithe body, “sounds pretty good.”

Candy put her shoulders on George’s shoulders and started to knead.  “Oooh, we’re going to have such fun...”
