Moontouched 13
It was five days before Christmas. The past month had just flown by with plans, preparations and anticipations of the season. As usual, Sidney and Duncan had bought their Christmas tree just the day before. Courtney had offered her input, wanting a big tree... but they were all big to her.
Once Duncan got home from work, it was time to bring in and decorate the tree. He started to work on the lights, which by tradition was his job and his alone. While untangling the cords of lights, he would occasionally stare out the window.
“What’s up, sweetie?”
“Just keeping an eye on the full Moon.”
Sidney’s face fell. “Aw, no. Not tonight.”
“Happens every month,” said Duncan with a shrug. “I won’t go until the kids are in bed.” He continued untangling the cords then cursed, and waved at it with his hands. The tangled mess melted and reformed into sets of perfectly organized lights. “Much better.”
Sidney just shook her head.
Courtney had been watching as eagerly as only a four-year-old at Christmas-time can, and clapped her hands with glee as she saw what her father had done. “Magic! Is it magic day today?”
Duncan nodded, adding lizard-scales to his forearms to make working the lights into the tree less painful. “It is indeed. Once I get the lights on, we can add some magic ornaments to the tree as well as the regular ones.”
With magic to help him along by making his arms more flexible, Duncan was soon done. Courtney was excited to see all the ornaments go on the tree, and eager to help. She wasn’t very good at making sure all the elements ‘balanced’ to Sidney’s preference, but Duncan just grinned and helped even things out.
“Now for the final touch. Which topper should we use?”
Courtney bounced and waved. “Me! Me! Pick me!”
“You want to be the topper?” asked Duncan in surprise.
Courtney’s eyes widened, as did her grin. “I wanna be the angel! Please, Daddy?”
Well, Duncan could hardly resist such a pretty request, and even before he’d answered the magic was already weaving around his daughter’s form, shrinking her and adding white feathery wings.
When she was done, Duncan scooped her up in his hands to much giggling and wheeeeing. He tucked her safely onto the top of the tree, and stood back to admire his work. “There. You make a perfect angel.”
“Yaay!” Courtney swished her wings, and waved at Sidney. “Hi Mommy!”
“Duncan!”
Duncan turned to his wife with a smile that instantly vanished. “Uh oh.”
“You turned our daughter into a... a...” Sidney gesticulated wildly at the tree.
“I’m an angel!” said Courtney proudly.
“She asked,” Duncan added softly. “It’s not going to hurt her.”
“Not going to...” Sidney could hardly believe her ears. “She’s a freaking ornament.”
“And she’s happy.” Duncan turned to his daughter-turned-tree-topper. “You’re not in any pain are you, sweetie?”
Courtney shook her head, her tinsel halo bobbing.
“And you’re happy?”
Courtney nodded with a huge grin. “Yes Daddy! I’m so high up, I’m taller than you!”
“See?”
Sidney shook her head. “Turn her back.”
“No. She’s happy. When she asks to change back, or by bedtime, I’ll change her back. Not before.”
Sidney grumbled, but went back to the kitchen to continue with dinner. Victor, who was only two, had watched the whole exchange with confusion. Duncan had to scramble to keep him from climbing the tree after his sister.
Since decorations don’t get to eat, Courtney quietly asked to be changed back when dinner was on the table. After dinner she asked, “Can I be the angel again?”
“I don’t think so, sweetie. See, I’ve put an angel that looks just like you did on the tree, so you’re kind of there already.”
Courtney looked confused for a moment, then grinned. “Oooh! Pretty. Can I have wings like her?”
Duncan chuckled softly. “Sure.” It was worth the glare he got from Sidney to see his daughter smile like that.
Courtney went to bed still wearing her wings, and Duncan smiled at her fondly as she cuddled up in the curve of them. She looked so happy, he was glad he’d left them on. Sidney was not so pleased.
“Don’t worry, sweetie. They’ll be gone by morning.”
“You’ll take them away in her sleep? She’ll be upset in the morning.”
Duncan sighed. “I won’t have to. There’s a total lunar eclipse tonight. The Moon will be hidden for over an hour. If the changes react anything like they do at the new Moon, she’ll be normal an hour after totality starts.”
“I guess...”
“I’ll check on her when I get home. Worst comes to worst, I can change her back tomorrow night. School’s out, a day with wings won’t be a big problem.” To distract Sidney, Duncan then asked, “What do you think I should make for them for Christmas? I was thinking one item each, secured with a silver pin so it’ll stay. Something big and magical for each of them.”
Sidney blinked a bit as she adjusted to the idea. “Does... does it have to be costumes?”
Duncan shook his head. “Could be pretty much anything, really. I should make something for you, too.”
“Can you make me an iPad?”
“Do you really want to be just a little bit of metal and glass?” Duncan asked with a tinge of humour.
Sidney gasped, and shook her head. “No! I didn’t mean it like that...”
“Good thing you’re wearing silver...” At Sidney’s glare, Duncan held up his hands placatingly. “I’m kidding, I wouldn’t have done that to you. I do have some control. Besides, I don’t know how the innards of an iPad work, I don’t think I could make a functioning one.”
“Foo. There goes half my list.”
They settled on an ride-in car for Victor, one that wasn’t all plastic. It had proper rubber tires and an impressive level of detail, and was painted a bright candy-apple red. Courtney got a huge purple unicorn plushie. For herself, Sidney called up a bunch of her favourite jewelry designs she’d seen online. There were three she liked the most, and she couldn’t decide which she wanted.
Duncan grinned. “Why not have all of them?”
“You’d do that?” Sidney squealed.
“Yup. Better that than waiting an hour for you to settle on just one...”
The first one was a collection of crystals held together by silver wire. Duncan shook his head. “I don’t think I can transform things into silver. The change would get stuck as soon as any silver was created.”
“Can you try anyway?” asked Sidney.
Duncan shrugged, and plucked out a hair. What it turned into looked a lot like a piece of silver wire, but just touching it made it clear to Duncan that it wasn’t actually silver. Sidney picked it up, frowned. “It’s too heavy for silver. Did you just make platinum instead?”
“I guess... would you be OK with that design in platinum wire instead of silver?”
“Heck yes!”
So Sidney got her jewelry, and Duncan got kisses before he left. Even one as Donna, which left a grin on her face all the way to Doctor Arwen’s office.
To Donna’s surprise, Roger wasn’t there. Instead, she helped a petite woman become an equally petite guy named Kevin. His hair, complexion, and just about everything else was nearly identical to when she’d started. Donna had offered to make him taller, or stronger, but he’d refused.
Once he’d left, Donna asked Arwen about him. “He seemed so well-adjusted.”
Arwen grinned. “Thanks. That wasn’t all my work, but I helped. You can see why Roger’s rather more frantic approach worries me in comparison. He’s too eager, too keen. I’d like to get to the bottom of what’s driving him before we make any permanent changes. Especially as I’m a bit worried the reality would disappoint him. After all, one thing you’ve helped me to learn is that as a woman or a man, I’m still me.”
“How about as a silicone toy?” Donna asked with a grin. “Were you still you, then?”
Arwen’s brow furrowed as she considered that for some time. “No. And yes. But more no than yes. I let the pleasure control me and... well, I’m glad you restored me after only one day gone. If I’d missed an entire week of appointments I’d still be picking up the pieces today. I have responsibilities that I can only fulfill as a human, and as a toy I... didn’t care.”
“But,” mused Donna, “If you didn’t have those responsibilities, or could have them handled for a time... then what?”
Arwen closed her eyes and sighed softly. “I’d go right back, and spend as long as I could as Joseph’s fuck-toy.”
Donna grinned. “I’m a bit surprised he’s not here now.”
“We didn’t want to prevail on our special relationship with you for...” Arwen stopped as she noticed Donna’s grin.
“Prevail away,” said Donna, simply. “I like you two, you’re fun to change. There was a change that seemed quite popular last month...”
Arwen squeaked in alarm and her hands went to her breasts. But they were still the same size as before. “What did you do?”
“Made them a little rubbery, and a bit more sensitive than before. Oh, and inflatable. Just exhale into them, and you’ll see.”
Arwen’s eyes went wide. “That’s... Wow. Joseph will like that gift, for sure. Thank you.”
Donna nodded. “Merry Christmas to him, then. What can I give you?”
Arwen nibbled on her lip, eyes glimmering. “I... really liked how it felt, that last change. Can you make me like that down there again, but without turning the rest of me into a toy? That way I can work, and we can still...”
Donna gestured between Arwen’s legs. “Done. Want some new plumbing anywhere else as a bonus?”
Arwen’s hands flew to her mouth. “I can’t... I need to be able to speak.”
“I was thinking maybe your belly-button, or just a random spot somewhere that your clothes would hide...”
“How about...” Arwen leaned close and whispered to Donna.
Donna grinned, and gestured needlessly once more. “Have fun.”
“Oh, we will! You may see me wearing silver next week...”
Donna clucked. “Be careful with that. Given your new... attributes, you may find that wearing silver does more of a number on you than you expect. You might start thinking that you’re supposed to be a sex toy, not a human.”
“Sounds like fun. But I’ll warn Joseph before I try it, thank you.”
“Good. See you next week!”
Next, of course, was the Blue Vixen. Donna’s heart started to beat faster as she approached the door, and she couldn’t help but grin when she entered to a chorus of “Donna!”
She waved to everyone, then spoke up. “While I have your attention, there’s going to be a bit of weirdness tonight.”
“More so than usual?” asked Gwen with a wicked grin.
Donna chuckled. “Not necessarily. There’s a lunar eclipse tonight, and it’s starting in...” She looked up at the clock on the wall. “Just under two hours. Once the earth’s shadow starts to cover the Moon, I’ll be unable to draw more power, so the, uh... you know... will have to stop.”
Donna looked around. “New faces tonight, I see. Didn’t you induct them, Gwen?”
Gwen sighed, and shook her head. “Sorry. Haven’t had a peek at the Moon yet. Give over.”
Donna laughed, and let a trickle of power flow toward Gwen. Then she got a big grin on her face, and the trickle turned into a rush. Gwen started to change before everyone’s eyes. Her arms stretched and flattened as her legs divided, and the front of her body started to look quilted. Gwen winked once at Donna before her transformation was complete, and an ornate chair sat where moments before Gwen had stood.
Donna sat in the Gwen-chair carefully, and smiled sweetly at the crowd. “There. Magic is real. The Moon is its source, I am its conduit. Any questions?”
“You’re sitting on a person?”
“No, I’m sitting on a chair. She used to be a person. She can still feel what I’m doing, and in all likelihood is quite enjoying the experience. I know I did when I spent part of one night as a chair. This is no illusion, the transformation is quite real. But it only lasts as long as the Moon is at least half-full. Tonight there will be a total eclipse starting about twenty to midnight and lasting until almost 1 am. During totality the changes will slowly revert, so even if I didn’t change Gwen her back, she’d be normal before the Moon reappeared. By 2am, the Moon will be unshadowed, and I should be able to start making changes again. So Crazy Eights will have to wait a bit later than usual.”
That started them chattering, and gave Donna a few moments of peace. Rowan approached her through the whirlwind of dancers, and handed over a small package. “Pauline sent this.”
On the front it read ‘Merry Christmas to all the girls at the Blue Vixen. (Hand this to Donna, she’ll know what to do.)’ Donna opened the package, and inside were dozens of safety pins. Grinning, she reached out to touch one, winced, and pulled her finger back to suck on it.
“Did you poke yourself?” asked Rowan.
“No. Silver. I’m getting allergic to it, touching it feels... not painful, just very...” Donna shrugged, at a loss for words. “I don’t like it.”
“So what’s the plan?”
Donna grinned, and raised her voice. “Everyone gets a gift tonight! A new outfit, or a change to an existing one. We have silver to keep the changes from reverting, so you’ll get to keep it.” She patted her lap. “Santa Donna is open for business.”
A red furry cap appeared on her head, and Donna patted Gwen’s arm in thanks. “Nice touch.”
Then it was all clamour and requests. Donna asked each girl in turn if she’d been naughty or nice. Jenna had claimed first spot in line due to seniority, and claimed to have been nice. Donna just gave her a skeptical look, and she’d ducked her head. “OK, I’ve been naughty.”
She got a shiny black latex outfit for her honesty, one that looked like it had been poured over her body it fit so perfectly. After that, all the answers were a prompt ‘naughty’ or ‘oooh, very naughty’.
One of the new girls made the mistake of asking Donna to “make me a sexy corset”. She stared in wonder as her limbs shriveled away. Donna let the change finish everywhere except the girl’s head and bust, leaving her wearing the rest of herself.
“Not quite what you meant?”
The girl looked down at herself, then shrugged. “No. But... if someone’s willing to wear me, finish it.”
The other new girl raised her hand. “Oooh, I’ll wear her!”
Donna grinned, and the first one’s head slowly melted away into the fabric. “Then done.” Before she could say anything, the second girl had poked a pin into the corset and scooped it up.
“Uh... if you keep that pin in her, she’ll never change back. Right now, she’s even forgotten she was ever human.”
The new girl grinned. “Who was human?”
Donna gawped at her, open-mouthed, until she started to giggle.
“Oh, the expression on your face! I wouldn’t keep Sandy like this. We’ve been friends forever. I just want to keep her long enough to tease...”
She stared at Donna. “You’re... you’re jealous.”
Donna looked away. “Go. Have fun. Don’t keep her like that for too long, or you might... bend her.”
“Oh, she’s plenty bent already. But yes. How long is too long? A day?”
“A week or two,” Donna said softly. “If you pull the pin on the night of the new Moon, she’ll change back in an hour.”
“Oooh, cool!” The new girl bounced away happily, then started shucking out of her top so she could wear Sandy.
Donna sighed, and gestured at her chair. Gwen spun back into humanity, and gave her a hug. “What’s wrong?”
“Ah, nothing. Just...”
“I heard, you know. You’ll sort it out, somehow.”
Donna snorted. “Maybe. Not soon. Bah, enough maundering. Everyone else got a Christmas gift, what will yours be?”
Gwen looked away. “Like you, there’s something I really want, but can’t have. I wish you and Duncan were separate people.”
“Granted.”
