'Til We Get It Right
Lynda’s father met Milo at the door. “She’s almost ready. Something about arguing with her dress.” He shook his head amusedly.
Milo waited just inside the door, and his face lit up in a smile as Lynda came down the steps in a flowing purple dress that covered her from neck to ankles. It clung to her arms and torso tightly, showing her slim figure off beautifully. Then she saw Milo, and she smiled at him radiantly.
Lynda’s father smiled as well. “Much more appropriate. So what are you two planning tonight?”
Milo’s mouth opened, but he couldn’t come up with anything. Lynda rescued him by claiming that they were going to see a movie.
“Which one?” asked her father, watching Milo intently.
As Lynda pulled Milo out the door she waved a hand airily. “Oh the same as last night. I didn’t get to see much of it.” Milo and her father sputtered in almost exactly the same way until Lynda couldn’t stop giggling. “I’m kidding, Daddy. Kidding! Don’t turn him into a frog.”
Milo tugged her down the path and to the car before he could be further embarrassed. “Could he really do that?”
“No. Mom might, though. C’mon, let’s go have some fun.”
“Cyndi’s been whispering in your ear again,” mused Milo, after he’d started the car.
“All day. She... very much enjoyed last night.”
Milo covered up his blush with a question. “What is she this time?”
“The dress, of course.” Lynda reached into her purse, and the neck-to-ankle dress flickered with magic. What emerged was the same rich purple fabric, now cut low enough to show some cleavage, and the skirt was tighter and much shorter. Milo goggled at it, and quickly returned his eyes to the road, swerving to avoid a tree.
“You brought the ring?”
“M-hm. And the ear-bud, so we get Cyndi’s advice this time. I intend to ignore it. She wanted the skirt high enough to show my panties. And she didn’t want there to be panties, for that matter.”
“I think I prefer this version.” Milo stopped at a traffic light, and took another look at Lynda. “You look really pretty like this. I doubt your father would have objected to it.”
Lynda blushed at the compliment. “Aw, I was just teasing him and Cyndi with it. Especially Cyndi, you should have heard her fuss when I told her what she was.”
“I can imagine. So what would you like to do after dinner? Another movie?”
“There has to be something more fun than that going on. What would you be doing if we weren’t on a date?”
“There’s a theatre festival on downtown, but... well, the stuff is kind of hit or miss. I’ve been doing some volunteering, just helping organize or take tickets. Oh, I know. There’s a bunch of buskers in one area, competing to see who’s best.”
“What, street musicians and the like?”
“Yeah, some really good ones. And juggling, stuff like that.”
Lynda grinned. “You seem keen on this. Good. Maybe we can grab something to eat while we’re down there?”
So they ate hotdogs and strolled arm in arm among the various acts. The music was actually pretty good, even the bagpipes. Lynda giggled along with the stand-up comic, and put a dollar in his hat as it was passed around. The chainsaw juggler made her clutch Milo tightly, which neither of them minded. He got a bigger tip.
Milo’s favourite was a man who’d painted himself silver and was doing a living robot act, complete with a little spin-whistle to make servomotor noises as he moved. He watched the ‘robot’ with a speculative look on his face until Lynda gave his arm a tug and they moved on once more.
After things wound down, they started back toward the car. “You know,” mused Milo. “With that ring, you could put on a pretty neat magic act. Make someone disappear here, and nobody will notice the ball rolling over to *there*, where they reappear.”
“That’s more Mom and Dad’s scene. I’ve never really been good in front of an audience.”
“Come on, it’s just random passers-by. It’d be fun.”
“We’d need more than just the ring. We’d need patter, practice, an act, a plan... especially one that doesn’t run the ring out of charge before we get to play with it tonight. Cyndi’s still trying to talk me into wearing you as panties.”
Milo stumbled, and caught himself on the hood of his car. “Oh... You haven’t forgotten about that.”
Lynda grinned. “From that reaction, you haven’t either. Want to go park and find out?”
Milo managed to get the car door open for Lynda, and then went around to the driver’s side. “I... Cyndi’s still at you, isn’t she.”
“Oh heck yes. But I want to know what you’d like to do.”
“I’m... curious. You have to admit, it’s not every day someone gets an offer like that.”
Lynda giggled. “Cyndi does.” She laughed, and added, “She says she... no I’m not saying that. Cyndi! No, I’m not going to do that while wearing him!” She blushed furiously, burying her face in her hands.
“Uh... driving. Yes, driving.” Milo started the car, and focussed on the road.
Once they were out of the worst of the traffic, Lynda asked, “Why me, anyway?”
“Hm?”
“I’m not the prettiest girl around. I’m pretty much the flattest one in our class, and nearly the shortest. None of the other guys looked at me, they only had eyes for girls like Cyndi. Shush, you.”
“You’re cute, you have a very symmetric face. And more importantly, you’re nice. Cyndi snaps at everyone, and you’re always apologizing for it. She deliberately knocked my lunch tray over once, and you helped me pick it up, and even smiled at me. I never forgot that.”
“Oh,” said Lynda softly. “I had no idea...”
“Then at Prom, when Cyndi suggested you turn me into a ‘dirty dishrag’, you apologized for her once again, and smiled. I didn’t realize you could have actually done it. You disappeared a little later, and came back wearing her as a stole.”
“You realized that then?” Lynda asked, alarmed. “I thought I’d been careful.”
“It was an odd coincidence, and I was curious about it, especially given Cyndi’s mysterious disappearance the month before.”
“Was that why you were tailing me in the park?”
Milo shook his head. “I’d seen you run past, and wanted to catch up and talk to you. I saw Cyndi leap out and get transformed. I panicked and hid, but couldn’t get that image out of my mind. So I went to your house and asked.”
Lynda let out a fluttery sigh. “I’m so very glad you did.”
“So am I,” said Milo, as he parked the car. “Even if I ended up stuck as a pair of panties with Cyndi.”
“Speaking of which... Ready to be a pair of panties?” Lynda’s hand dipped into her purse, and pulled out the ring. She untied the cord that was holding it, and then slipped the ring onto her finger.
“I... uh... Maybe start with something less intimate?”
“We’re parked here in the dark, and you want to get less intimate? Oh... good point. You haven’t even made it to second base. Maybe a bra? You didn’t wear one tonight.”
“I’m not... wait, ‘you’? You’re letting Cyndi talk for you?”
Lynda clapped her hand over her mouth. “Oh no... She’s been trying to feed me lines all evening. And now she’s laughing her head off.”
Milo snickered. “Good one, Cyndi. How would that work, anyway? I mean, if you turn me into a bra, she’d change back to normal, right?”
“Apparently that was part of her evil plan, too. Nice try, you little sneak.”
Milo frowned in thought. “When you changed me... You changed her once, too. I was a little fuzzy thing, then I was something else, then back again. What did you do in the middle?”
“I turned Cyndi into a pillow, and you changed with her. Then when I changed my skirt to change you back, she became human, but you only changed back into the stuffed cat.”
“That explains why I couldn’t see for a bit,” Milo mused.
Lynda winced, then nodded. “I’ll ask, I’ll ask! Geez. Cyndi wants to know about this seeing thing. You could see while you were the cat?”
“Well, sort of. I guess its eyes were glass, so they didn’t focus right. But with attention to that detail, maybe you could.”
“Cyndi says, and I quote, ‘screw second base, I want to see again’.”
Milo laughed out loud, and nodded. “So we need to come up with a design. Another plush cat, then? The trick is going to be getting a good lens out of the glass of the eyes.”
Lynda squeaked in amusement, and her dress shimmered. A moment later, she was wearing only a purple bra and panties. The bra had big glass eyes over the nipples. “EEEEK! CYNDI! I should take this ear-bud out right now, before you cause any more trouble.”
Milo waved at Lynda’s bra. “Hi Cyndi! Ask her if she can see, at least.” He leaned in to examine it closely, peering at the eyes. “They look like really nice work.”
“A-hem. Eyes up here, buddy.” Milo startled, and started to apologize, but then Lynda started giggling. “Sorry, had to do it. She says she can see that you’re there, but it’s pretty fuzzy.”
Milo laughed along with her. “Right. Eyes down... cute. I wonder. Can she see the light at the end of the road behind us any better?”
Lynda squirmed around her seat, then climbed into the back so she could give Cyndi a look through the rear window. “She says it’s not as fuzzy.”
They tried several other lens designs, with Milo sketching out shapes for Lynda to try. The new designs were all tested with Cyndi as a large plush cat instead of a bra, and after three tries she claimed that the newest design was better than her normal eyes.
Lynda handed the Cyndi cat to Milo, and asked him to set her on the dash. “She says she wants to watch.”
“Watch what?” asked Milo.
Lynda sighed. “You were right, Cyndi. He hasn’t even noticed. What am I wearing?”
Milo looked her over. “Panties.”
Lynda just stared at him, with a shy smile on her lips, and a blush blooming on her cheeks. “I can’t believe you got me here, Cyndi.”
“Oh! You want me to...”
Lynda nodded, and Milo clambered into the back seat to cuddle with her. It took a bit of wriggling and squirming until they got comfortable. Milo nervously reached out to touch Lynda’s breasts, and her blush got even brighter. With his hands gently cupping Lynda’s breasts, Milo tried to break up their mutual uncertainty with a joke. “OK, now I’m ready to be your bra.”
Lynda giggled nervously then nodded, “As you wish.” Then her face got very serious. “Uh oh.”
“What?”
“Um, I tried. It didn’t work. The ring’s run out.”
“Probably for the best. You’d have freed Cyndi. And I wouldn’t be able to do this...” Milo leaned in to give Lynda’s naked chest a kiss, and she trembled under his lips.
“But I can’t get dressed to go home.”
They sat in the car, talking in monosyllables, not touching. After half an hour of this, the clock was far too close to when Lynda had to be home, and she tried the ring again. Nothing.
Milo sighed. “I have to get you home. I’m sure I can find something to cover you up, a little.”
“God, Cyndi, stop laughing! This isn’t funny, I’m going to get grounded for a month.”
Milo walked Lynda up to her door, an arm around her to keep the blanket from falling off her shoulders. Lynda was clutching Cyndi to her chest as if the plush cat could somehow shield her from her father’s wrath. It didn’t work. He father took one look at her and just said, “In.” He closed the door from the outside, and stared down at Milo.
Milo tried very hard to meet that gaze, but eventually had to look away. “I... I’m sorry sir.”
“Explain.”
“I... wouldn’t even know where to begin.”
“Try.”
“Well, you see, we figured out that transforming a person into a form with glass eyes let them see. And then we wanted to design eyes that let you see more than a blur, and the ring kind of ran out...”
“I see. And her dress?”
“Cyndi was her dress. So she’s the kitty now. But she can see!”
“Good for her. Not so good for Lynda. Goodnight.”
Milo was called to pick up his blanket the next day, but didn’t get to see Lynda. He was told that she was ‘considering the error of her ways’, and would not be available for the next week.
* * *
A week to the day later, Milo was once again on Lynda’s doorstep, knocking on the door. Lynda’s mother answered with a smile.
“Your timing is perfect, Milo, she’s back to normal and was pining for a certain visitor.”
Lynda peeked out from behind her mother, in a very ordinary T-shirt and shorts. “Hey Milo. Thanks for coming back after what Dad put you through.”
“Aw, it wasn’t that bad. It’s not like he turned me into a plush toy or anything.”
Lynda snickered. “Lucky you. Can we go, Mom?”
“Yes. Go enjoy the afternoon. But be back for dinner.” It was said mildly, but Milo heard the steel behind it.
“Yes Mrs. P. Absolutely.”
They dashed down the path to Milo’s car, Lynda’s large handbag flapping behind her. They arrived out of breath and started laughing. “Your mother is scary,” Milo said between gasps.
“You should have seen her after Dad got through with me. She was so pissed with him, she used the tiger collar.”
“The what now?”
“You know how their big finale in their magic act is turning Mom into a tiger in a cage? That bit is actual magic. When she’s wearing the collar, Mom can turn into that tiger and back at will. Dad didn’t fancy the idea of arguing with an apex predator that outweighed him four to one. He apologized very nicely to me after that. Of course, I was still stuck for a week, just like Cyndi.”
“Where is Cyndi, now, anyway?”
Lynda pulled a familiar plush cat out of her handbag. “Here she is! Isn’t she a cutie? I offered to turn her back into panties, but she likes being able to see.” Lynda put her back in the handbag, but arranged so that her head and forepaws were sticking out. “Better? Oh, good. So what’s the plan for today?”
“Ever flown a plane before?”
Lynda shook her head nervously. “I don’t know the first thing about them. We’re not going flying, are we?”
Milo opened the car door, and pointed at the back seat. “We’ll fly those. Remote control planes. I’ve been building them for years now, these are a couple of my favourites. The purple one is really stable, I’ll teach you how to fly her.”
“Her?” asked Lynda with a nervous titter. “She’s not a person, is she?”
Milo laughed, and shook his head. “No. All boats and planes are ‘her’, though. Tradition.”
Lynda was uncharacteristically quiet as they drove off to the park. Milo unloaded the planes, and set to work attaching the wings. He installed the main battery pack, then did some quick pre-flight checks of the control systems on the bright blue plane. As Lynda watched, it raced down the grassy runway, and vaulted into the sky.
She oohed and aahed as Milo put it through its paces. After it arrowed to a landing under his expert guidance, Milo taxied it back to where it had started and pulled the battery. “Want to give it a try?”
Soon he had the stubby purple plane ready for takeoff, with his arms around Lynda’s so he could guide her hands on the controls. “Takeoff and landing is the hardest part,” he said, as the plane lifted uncertainly into the sky. “Now that you’re up there, let’s gain a little altitude and try some wide circles.”
After a few practice flights Lynda was ready to fly the plane on her own, and was grinning the entire time. She handed it off to Milo for the landing, not wanting to bang up his handiwork. They were out of batteries, but Milo said that in an hour or so, the charger would have the first two sets ready again.
They sat in the grass beside the little planes, and talked about Milo’s hobby. He described the working of the planes in detail, all the fiddly bits that had to mesh together just so.
“Have you ever wondered what it’s like to actually fly?” asked Lynda wistfully.
“Yeah. Some guys put a video camera in their planes, and have a head-mounted display. I’ve been thinking about doing that.”
“The feel of the wind against your skin...”
Milo looked up, watching the birds flying over the park. “That would be something else, wouldn’t it? I wonder...”
“Hi Milo.”
Milo gasped, and nearly fell as he scrambled to his feet. “Cyndi? What are you doing here? Where’s Lynda?”
Cyndi nudged a cute little pink plane with her foot. “I bet this is her. Somebody got too caught up in her daydream of flight.”
“Oh. I wonder if she’s set up for... uhoh. Where’s the ring?”
Cyndi grinned maliciously, and held up her hand. “Right here. I’m afraid your girlfriend’s not going to be flying anywhere. She has a date with my butt.”
Magic flashed from Cyndi’s hand to the plane and back, and it was Cyndi who ended up fluttering to the ground. Lynda sighed wistfully as she sat up. “Aww, I didn’t even get to glide. You could have at least picked me up and swooshed me through the air before changing me back.”
“Wasn’t me,” said Milo. “Cyndi got the ring.”
Lynda looked around, and soon spotted the pair of panties and the ring. “Well. I guess if I wear her, that’ll solve one problem. Look the other way. Is there anyone around?”
“Nope.”
“OK, you can look again.” Lynda’s boring white panties were half tucked into her handbag, and she was wearing a low-cut pair of pink panties instead. She blushed and grinned at Milo’s reaction, then pulled up her shorts. She tried to go on talking matter-of-factly, but squeaked on her first try. “Happy, Cyndi? Hah, too bad. Anyway. I was able to see, so I think I got that part right. But how do the elevators work again?”
Lynda’s next attempt at turning into an airplane was also short-lived, as this time her control surfaces just flapped freely, unconnected to the actuators. Milo picked up the ring, and used it to turn the housing of his blue plane transparent. After he’d handed Lynda her ring, he pointed out all the fiddly bits to Lynda, so that she could see how they all connected back to little actuating motors, and those to the control box.
This time, Lynda’s controls were properly connected, but the RC unit couldn’t make them move. Milo sighed, and put in the ear-bud. “How much do you know about radios?”
“Um...” replied Lynda.
“I know which stations play the best music,” piped up Cyndi.
Milo laughed at the comment. “Thanks, Cyndi. But that’s not really helpful. OK, let’s see if I can visualize all this just so...”
“Careful,” called out Lynda, but it was too late. She felt the magic wrap around her, then a flash of familiar warmth deep within her fuselage. She sighed, and sat up. “Milo?”
Lying on the ground next to his favourite blue plane was a sleek pink one, more streamlined than the one Lynda had been imagining. As she was admiring it, the engine whined to life and the prop started spinning. It taxied away from the stunned girl, and raced into the sky. Lynda cheered. “Go, Milo!”
She stood and watched him spin about the park, pulling ever more elaborate stunts as he got used to flying in true first-person perspective. He kept going and going, higher and wider. At times, he was little more than a dot to her eyes. By the time he came in for a landing, Lynda had given up on standing. She had fetched the blanket from the car, and was lying on the grass, still grinning at his enthusiasm.
Lynda slipped the ring onto her finger, and changed the blanket to a comfortable chair. Cyndi tumbled to the ground in front of her, taking Lynda’s shorts with her. Lynda squealed as she realized that she was half-naked. Before Cyndi could figure out which way was up, she was a comfortable pair of shorts, and back on Lynda’s body.
Milo was staring at her, blushing furiously. Lynda grinned apologetically, and shrugged. “Oops. Did you have fun?”
That distracted him, and he talked on about the wonders of flying, really flying for the first time. Lynda slipped the ring off her finger before she got too caught up in the images he created, as she knew she wouldn’t be able to create what he could.
When he wound down, Lynda opened his hand, and dropped the ring into it. Milo stared at her in surprise. Lynda smiled at him encouragingly. “I want to try flying, and you’re the only one that knows how.” She stepped back, and spread her arms wide. “Change me. Make me a plane.”
“Um... Can Cyndi hear me now?”
Lynda frowned. “Way to ruin the moment. Uh, no, she changed back to normal, so she’d need to be touched again for the ear-bud to work. Why?”
“Can you turn your spell reflection off? She might not understand it, but if I’m going to change you...”
“Right! Right. That wouldn’t have worked at all. Clever boy.” Lynda closed her eyes and focussed on letting magic in. “Try it now.” The magic tingled about her, and settled in. She would have cheered if she had a voice.
She watched Milo approach with the ear-bud and soon she could hear him speak. “Testing. Can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear,” replied Lynda.
“Me too!” chimed in Cyndi. “What are we... Are we a plane?”
Milo nodded. “A pretty one, too.” He grazed his hand along the sculpted fuselage, and both girls cooed at the touch. “Enough of that.”
“Aww,” said Cyndi. “I had no idea a plane could feel like that.”
“Can you move your elevators? No, no, those are your flaps. The elevators are in back. Yes, those. And the rudder? It sort of wiggles back and forth there... yes, that’s it. OK, this is a little more complicated than with the handheld controls.”
Milo walked them through basic flight theory, and how to use flaps, elevators, rudder and throttle to navigate in the sky.
“I think I’ve got all that, but... I’m not really all that good at landings yet,” worried Lynda.
“Hm. I wonder...” Milo picked up the control unit, and turned the transmitter on.
“Yeek! What was that?” cried Lynda. “Hey! My flaps are moving on their own. What did you do?”
Milo killed the transmitter. “You’re radio-controlled.”
“That felt weird,” said Lynda.
“That was awesome!” shouted Cyndi into Milo’s ear. “Do it again!”
Milo laughed, and obliged her even as far as taxiing the little plane back and forth with a light touch on the throttle.
“OK,” said Lynda. “That’s enough virtual bondage for now. I want to fly!”
“Spoilsport,” muttered Cyndi. She changed her tune once the plane was vaulting into the sky. She squealed with fear, and her flailing caused Lynda to lose control. They spiralled toward the ground.
At the last moment control snapped away from them, and Milo’s expert hand guided them back toward the sky. “Are you two going to be OK up there?”
“No,” whimpered Cyndi.
“Come on, Cyndi. Just relax, and let me do the flying. It’ll be fun, I promise. If we get in trouble, Milo will save us again.”
“Of course. I’ll watch you like a hawk.”
Cyndi reluctantly agreed, and Lynda took control once more. With nobody joggling her elevators, she quickly became proficient at swooshing back and forth across the field, then loops, and rolls and everything else she could think of. Milo kept talking to her, encouraging her with tales of flying, and dreams of the planes he wanted to build one day. Eventually she started to tire, and he talked her through the landing. His fingers were poised over the controls, ready to take over, but Lynda managed it just fine on her own, with only one little bounce.
“See! I knew you could do it,” Milo said as he walked up to the tired little plane. “Ready to be human again?”
“No!” both girls called out as one. Lynda continued, “Let me rest for a bit. I’m already feeling stronger, I bet we can go again.”
Milo chuckled, and sat beside his aerodynamic girlfriend, arm resting lightly on her wing.
After a while, Lynda spoke up. “Those planes you talked about. The big ones you want to fly. Do you want to do that now?”
Milo looked into the cockpit and Lynda’s glass eyes. “What do you mean?”
“The ring. Make me your great big dream plane, and fly me all over the park.”
“It’s fun to watch you, but...”
“No. Fly me. You’re a better pilot than I am by far. Take the controls, make me your plane.”
Milo flicked the transmitter on, and Lynda felt the tingle of magic about her. She belatedly remembered the mirror, and managed to suppress it before it was too late. The magic swirled hesitantly for a few moments longer, then settled. She was bigger, much bigger. Bigger than Milo, at least her wingspan was, and she figured her fuselage was almost as long as he was tall. He still towered above her due to her low profile, but she was looking at his knees now, rather than just above his ankles.
“Fly me to the moon,” Lynda sung into his ear. She raced into the sky under his control, lifted her landing gear into her fuselage, and danced. She sung the entire time, going through half a dozen songs before she started to tire, and had to sadly ask him to bring her back to earth.
Milo ran up to her, scooped her up and hugged her. “I love you.”
Lynda waggled her flaps. “I love you too.”
“Awww,” said Cyndi, but softly. “About time.”
Milo set Lynda down gently. “I guess it’s time to get you home.”
Lynda sighed but had to agree. The shadows were growing longer. “OK. Change me back.”
“Um...”
“Oh. No. Not again.”
“I am so sorry. What should we do?”
“You heard Mom. I have to be home for dinner. No excuses.”
Milo strapped the Lynda plane to the roof of the car, and drove her home as slowly as he could. She laughed at his tentative driving. “I’m made for the wind. This feels good, don’t worry.”
Milo carried Lynda to the door, sighed softly, and pressed the doorbell.
"Hi, Mrs. P." said Milo, sheepishly.
“Milo.” Lynda's mother gave him a stern look that strongly implied 'where's my daughter'.
Milo tried to brazen it out. "We, uh... ran the ring out of juice. Again. This is Lynda." The plane overburdening his arms waggled her flaps at her mother in a kind of a wave.
She kept the stern look up until Milo dropped his gaze. "I'm sorry. She's stuck like this for a few hours, and I know I had to have her back before then, so..." He held out the plane to her mother.
Mrs. P clucked her tongue, and accepted the bulky load. "Well, this is new. I've tucked her into bed many a time, but not as a living plane. Are you OK, dear?"
Lynda waggled her rudder happily.
Milo handed over the ear-bud. Lynda chattered happily to her mother about the lovely day they’d had, and she couldn’t help but smile. Just a bit.
Milo then pulled the ring off his finger, and extended it reluctantly in his hand. His fingers stayed curled around it. “I suppose you’ll need this too, to change her back later.”
Lynda’s mother looked down at the ring closed in his hand with undisguised longing, then sighed. “Lynda, did you give him this ring freely? Ah.” She cupped her hand under his, and waited. “It is yours now, freely given. I will not force it from you.”
Milo clutched the ring to his chest, his eyes wide. “I... uh, I guess I should come back tomorrow?”
“She says she’d like that. And not to worry, she’ll be OK.”
“Will she? Really?”
“Yes. She was a bit distressed when I told you to keep the ring, but she understands what she has done. Goodnight.”
Milo nodded and walked slowly back to the car, trying to figure out just what had happened.
* * *
In the morning, Milo was back at Lynda’s house just after breakfast. Lynda’s mother greeted him with a smile. “I hoped that was you. Come in. Lynda’s in the living room.”
Milo had to chuckle at the sight of a large airplane perched on the couch, her wings hanging over each arm. “Hey there, Lynda.” She waggled her flaps at him in greeting. “Still OK?” A tentative rudder-wave was her answer.
“Did you bring the ring over?” asked Lynda’s mother.
“Yes, Mrs. P.” Milo pulled at the thong around his neck, lifting the ring out from its hiding place under his shirt. “I don’t want to change her accidentally. There has been enough of that of late.”
“Quite. Wise of you. Well, she is yours to do with as you wish.”
Milo blinked. “Wait, what?”
“She willingly gave you the ring, and asked to become your possession. We had a very long talk about that last night. She knew the rules, it’s not like I haven’t told them to her a thousand times, but she ‘forgot’ them in the heat of the moment.”
“I’m sorry, Mrs. P. I don’t understand.”
She laughed wryly. “No, I didn’t think you did. I have taught her better than this, but what’s done is done. Did she say how long you could keep her?”
“Um...” Milo reviewed their conversation quickly. “No. No she just said ‘make me your plane’.”
Lynda’s mother sighed, and for once looked her age. “As I feared. I’d hoped that... No matter. Magic takes situations like this seriously. It is treated just as if she’d lost a duel to you. If no duration is given it means she’s yours for a year.”
Lynda’s flaps and elevators fluttered, and her propellor buzzed angrily. “Lynda! Stop that. I told you all this again last night, there’s no point in fussing now,” her mother chided.
“I can change her back, though, right? She’s not stuck like that?” Milo asked worriedly.
“You can make her human again, yes. But you will still have the right to change her to whatever you wish, and while she is an object, she is your object, no other may claim her,” Lynda’s mother admitted ruefully.
“That’s... I can’t believe this. She’s still a minor, for pete’s sake!”
Mrs. P shrugged resignedly. “The rules of magic are like the laws of nature. To both, Lynda is a grown woman. And in truth she is, and must bear the weight of her impulsive actions.” She smiled wryly at a thought. “As must every other girl in her class, if you think about it. At least she’s not pregnant.”
Milo sputtered and blushed. “I would never... Can’t I do something?”
“You could renounce all interest in her, say you want nothing to do with her and mean it.”
Milo looked pained. “I can’t do that! I love her, Mrs. P. I really do.”
“And she loves you. There are far worse things in this world than to be owned by the one you love, Milo.” Lynda’s mother smiled at a memory. “I made the same mistake as her once, you see. With her father.” She laughed as Lynda started flapping again. “Sorry, dear. I don’t mean to put you on the spot.”
“Could I... change the duration? I’m leaving for university out of state in five weeks. I can’t take her with me, she has her own plans.”
Mrs. P. nodded. “Yes. I could hope for shorter, but... Well, five weeks is certainly an improvement, and lets her start at college in the fall. Good.”
“So... uh, what do I do?”
“Just say it, and mean it.”
Milo walked over to the couch the Lynda plane was occupying, and knelt before it. “Lynda, I am amazed and humbled by the gift you gave me, but I can’t keep you so long. When I leave for university, you are free.”
“Lynda, do you accept?” asked her mother. She laughed at the reply. “Well then. I have done what I can. Be good to her, or you will regret it.” She handed the ear-bud to Milo, and left them alone.
Milo quickly popped the ear-bud in his ear. “Lynda? How are you holding up?”
“Better, now that you’re here,” came the reply in his ear. “Thank you for changing the deadline. The prospect of being your toy for a year was a little scary.”
“You shouldn’t be my toy at all.”
“Tell me you didn’t have fun flying me yesterday. And I can see the way you look at me now, you want to go flying again.”
“I... you were a lot of fun to fly. Would you mind?”
“Mind? I’d love it!”
Cyndi whimpered. “Can’t I just be panties again?”
“Maybe later,” replied Lynda brightly. “I get to go flying again. Wheeee!”
Milo carried Lynda back to the car, and strapped her on the roof once more. This time he drove faster, but not over the limit. Lynda begged him to take her out to the highway, but he worried the straps might not hold.
He flew Lynda for hours, sometimes under radio control, sometimes letting her fly herself. They stopped for lunch, but Lynda refused his offer to make her human to share it with him. She just wanted to fly.
“I wish I could join you up there.”
“Me too, but I can’t ask Mom, you saw how this affected her. The other choice is Cyndi, and I don’t trust her to change us back into something other than panties.”
“Darn straight,” shot Cyndi, and everyone laughed.
Milo brought Lynda back home at dinnertime. Her mother looked so disappointed she was still an object that Milo immediately slipped the ring on and changed his shirt from white to brilliant purple. Lynda laughed and danced in circles, then hugged them both so warmly that Milo entirely forgot about the plane.
“Is she staying here tonight?” asked Lynda’s mother carefully.
Milo looked confused. “Well, yeah. Whatever you might think about all this, I know what my parents would say.”
Lynda’s mother finally smiled. “Wonderful. She is a lucky girl. Come, have dinner with us. We should celebrate, even if your parents wouldn’t understand.”

The next day, Lynda wanted to go flying again. Cyndi had whined so much the previous day that both Lynda and Milo had gotten quite tired of it.
“Can’t we just let her go for a few days?” asked Milo.
Lynda shook her head. “You know what she has tried to do every chance she got. The only way I’m safe is if she’s inanimate.”
“Still,” mused Milo. “There has to be a way. I mean, I was still a cat after you changed the pillow back, and she’s still panties when you change back from being a plane. Does it only work on things people are holding or wearing?”
Lynda looked around, and there was nobody to see into the car. She wriggled Cyndi out from under her skirt, and handed her to Milo. “Do you have a test in mind?”
“How about your purse?”
Lynda giggled at Cyndi’s protests. “It’s the purse or going flying, Cyn. Which... purse it is, then.”
A moment later Lynda’s purse was a familiar looking plush kitten, and Cyndi was happy that she could see once more. Lynda gave the kitten a hug, then set it on the dash. “OK, now what?”
“I change you, of course.”
Lynda grinned, and handed him the ear-bud. “Go a... no, I better not give you any more permissions, or I’ll be stuck for the full year again.” It wasn’t until she felt the pulse of heat at her throat that she realized there might be another problem with the plan. “Oops. Bad pendant. As long as Milo owns me, he gets to change me however he likes, got it?” She felt an apologetic pulse from the amulet, and nodded.
Lynda then looked over at Milo, and started to giggle. A woman-shaped balloon was bumping against the roof of the car where he had been. A very busty woman-shaped balloon. “Milo! You little... Hah, maybe I should leave you like this for a while.”
Next Lynda checked her purse. It was sitting where the plush cat had been, and inside was a pair of panties just like she had hoped. She traced a finger over Cyndi’s lacy edges, and giggled. “Hope you’re having fun in there, ‘cause if you don’t shape up you’re going to be spending a lot of time in my purse.”
Finally, Lynda found the magic ring, and used it to turn Cyndi and her purse back into a plush toy. Milo thumped into the driver’s seat, and winced. “OK, helium balloons are a bad idea.”
Lynda shot him a wicked grin. “You looked kind of cute bobbing around up there with your great big tits. Is that what you want me to look like?”
Milo pinked, but met her gaze with a grin of his own. “Are you objecting?”
Lynda grinned even wider. “While I’d like to be a bit bigger up top, that was just tacky. Not quite so absurd next time, Hm?” She handed him the ring.
Milo got out of the car, and walked out into the park. Lynda joined him, with her plushie-purse tucked under one arm. “It’ll be weird flying without Cyndi.”
“Really?”
Lynda grinned, dropped the plush cat, and opened her arms wide. “No.” She closed her eyes, and embraced the warm tingle of magic reshaping her.
She flew, and gladly embraced the joy of the sky, of being utterly under Milo’s expert control. She wished that it would never end, but was careful never to ‘say’ so. But even the most perfect days end. The shadows grew long, and Milo worried about losing her in the dusk.
Lynda sat curled in a ball where the gorgeous plane had been. She tried to cling to the memory of wind on her wings, but the breeze against her skin just wasn’t the same.
Milo handed her a pair of panties. “Here’s Cyndi.”
Lynda stared at them unseeingly for a few moments, then started to giggle. They were bright red satin with an enormous pink heart taking up most of the front panel.
“Made you smile.”
Lynda laughed louder. “Oh, if Cyndi could see herself she’d have a fit.”
Milo winced, and handed her the ear-bud. “She is.”
Lynda put Cyndi on, and the two girls chattered excitedly as they walked back to Milo’s car. Once they were seated and the car was warming up, Lynda leaned her head against Milo’s shoulder.
“You know,” she purred, “it’s getting dark enough here nobody’s likely to see us.”
“That’s Cyndi talking again.”
Lynda shrugged, and offered him the ear-bud. “She hasn’t shut up about the doll thing, and it’s wearing me down. She really wants to try it.”
“What about what you want?”
“Well, having bigger breasts for once would be...”
Milo’s imagination didn’t need any more invitation than that. He protested weakly as the magic surged, then saw the reshaped Lynda. She sat in her seat as a perfect replica in gleaming latex, her glass eyes sparkling with secret amusement. “Are you OK with this?”
Cyndi answered, “Hell yes,” and Lynda didn’t object.
He took his time admiring and enjoying her enhanced bust, and traced his fingers where her scars had been replaced with seams. When he kissed her O-shaped lips, the ear-bud moaned with their pleasure.
He explored the rest of her body carefully, tenderly, curiously. When they cried out at the slightest touch between her legs, Milo pulled away. “No. I... god, I’d love to, but no.”
“Milo! Please... Don’t stop. Not now. Not feeling like this.”
Milo closed his eyes and looked away from her. “Damn it. I’ve already gone too far, too fast. Corrupting a minor as well? I won’t. I just can’t.”
Both Cyndi and Linda whined at him piteously. Cyndi pointed out that dolls don’t have an age of consent, but he was adamant. As soon as he had control over his emotions, Milo picked the ring up again.
“You better hope the ring still works.”
“You can’t take me home like this, Milo! I’ll never see you again,” Lynda said with a tremor in her voice. “If I can’t change back, take me home with you. Remember, I’m a thing right now, so you own me...” It was first time she’d sounded happy about that.
Cyndi chimed in with, “Mmm, do that anyway. Imagine, being kept as nothing but an object of pleasure...”
“Cyndi!” Lynda whimpered. “I don’t... don’t want...”
“Yes you do,” she said softly. “Just as much as I do. Admit it.”
Milo shuddered, and dragged his gaze away from the doll—his doll!—again. “As much as the idea appeals to my base instincts... no. I’d never be strong enough to go the night without using you.”
Then Lynda could move again, and she sighed wistfully. “Aww. Are you sure?”
“Oh hell no. But it’s the right thing to do. Right?”
Lynda nodded slowly. “Yes. The law is stupid, but... yeah.” She picked up the plush kitty that used to be her purse. “Could you at least change something else so I can have my purse back?”
“Sure. Just no suggestions...”
Lynda giggled, then hissed at Cyndi, “No! Stop that.”
After a few moments Milo shook his head. “Sorry, hon. That was the last change. Can you manage without a purse for the night?”
Lynda shuddered. “Better than facing my folks as a doll, that’s for sure. Cyndi’s still chanting ‘lovedoll, lovedoll’ in my ear. Stop it! He can’t, even if I ask.”
Milo raced to Lynda’s home, and Mrs. P smiled at him. “You’re on time. Barely.”
Cyndi was silent until the door closed behind them. “What the hell, Lyn, you’re sopping.”
Lynda whispered as softly as she could, “When he touched me down there I thought I was going to die. Then when he stopped, I knew I was.” She could barely wait to get to the privacy of her room.
* * *
“God, Lyn. You have it bad for him, you forgot I was even here while you did that.”
Lynda felt like she was on fire. “Oh my God! I’m so sorry Cyndi, I... You’re a mess, I’ll give you a nice hand-wash in warm water, just the way you like it.”
“Oooh, I wouldn’t say no to that.”
As Lynda ran the water and soaped the panties up, she continued to apologize profusely. Cyndi admitted, “Really, it’s OK. I liked it. Closest I’m going to get... nevermind. I won’t object at all if you do it again. Mmm, and again. This is going to be rough on you if Milo sticks to his guns. You’re going to need a vibrator or you’re going to wear out your hands.”
Lynda whimpered softly. “I wouldn’t even know where to get one.”
“I would. I’ll talk you through it.”
“OK.”
Cyndi laughed, but without malice. “You must have it bad to agree to that. When you turn 18 he’ll see things differently. That’s only a couple weeks off, right?”
Lynda brightened. Maybe there was some hope for this summer after all.
