'Til I Met You
Lynda slammed the door behind her, panting from her run. She’d just turned her best friend Cyndi into panties, and thanks to the magic ear-bud, Cyndi was talking her ear off. Now that she was in private, she could reply without looking mad. She argued that using her parents resources and connections to get more magic just to expand her wardrobe was insane, possibly psychotic.
Then there was a knock on the door.
Lynda opened it cautiously. “Milo? What are you doing here?”
He pushed his spectacles up his nose, and looked her in the eye. “I saw what you did with Cyndi.”
“You saw what? I... I mean, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Lynda looked anywhere but at the slim young man from her grade.
“She jumped out at you, then poof, she was a pile of fabric.”
“Your eyes must have been playing tricks on you,” Lynda said with false bravado.
“I have an eidetic memory,” Milo said, tapping his temple. “I know what I saw.” He described Cyndi’s top and skirt better than Lynda could have, and the delicate pink shade of the fabric Cyndi had become.
Lynda sighed, and gestured him inside. After she closed the door, she asked, “Why were you watching me? What do you want?”
Cyndi commented in her ear, “Never mind what he wants, turn him into a rock! He knows!” Lynda ignored her.
Milo stayed uncertainly by the door. “I just want to understand. I saw something impossible.”
Lynda laughed. “Impossible, hm? I don’t think that word means what you think it means.”
Milo perked up as he recognized the quote, and smiled at Lynda. He was actually halfway cute when he smiled, she thought. She was glad she’d accepted his offer of a dance at the Prom after she’d dealt with Cyndi.
“What am I going to do with you?” Lynda mused. “You don’t have any evidence, I can just avoid you and you’ll have no choice but to drop the whole thing.”
“He’d be cuter as a dress,” whispered Cyndi in Lynda’s ear.
“My world-view has been proven... overly limited. Proven to me, if nobody else. Do you think I’m likely to just let it go?”
“How about a bra? Can’t have too many bras.”
“Shush.” At Milo’s hurt look, Lynda shook her head. “No, not you.” Cyndi giggled in her ears. “I need to think.”
“That’s better than a no. So how does it work?”
“Maybe a purse? He’d make a cute purse.”
“What did you do with Cyndi anyway?”
“Or a pair of shoes. Can the ring do shoes?”
“Is it magic, or was it some kind of hologram?”
“AUGH!” cried Lynda. “Too many questions.”
“I know,” said Cyndi. “He’s more curious than a cat.”
Lynda giggled as the image of Milo as a cute little tabby cat in glasses came to mind. Then she gasped as she felt the magic of the ring she was wearing surge away from her. “No!”
It was far too late for that. Milo’s eyes widened as a shimmering wave of energy enveloped him, then they were replaced with the glass cat’s eyes of a cute little tabby-cat plush.
Cyndi was lying on the floor under Lynda, and wriggled out from between her legs. “Oooh! I wasn’t even suggesting that.” She scooped Milo up and danced around with him. “Who’s a pretty kitty, who’s a pretty kitty.”
“Damnit, Cyndi...” Lynda focussed on her friend, and imagined her as a pillow. The dancing and singing stopped. She looked around for Milo, but he was gone. Not even the plush kitty remained.
“Oh, crap.”
Lynda quickly turned Cyndi back, shortening her skirt in the process. She breathed a sigh of relief as the Milo cat reappeared in her arms. Now to figure out what she had to do to save Milo.
"Drop him," she ordered Cyndi. The other girl did as she was told. Lynda noticed that Cyndi seemed to be thinking about what had just happened. "Oh, no," she said quickly. "Back to panties for you." And she ordered up the ring's magic to do just that.
But before it could take effect, Cyndi rushed forward and gathered her into a big hug. Before Lynda could raise a protest, she felt a strange feeling come over her. And then, she and Cyndi vanished. Hanging in the air where they had been was a pair of pink satin panties. They dropped to the floor softly. The ring clattered down beside them.
“What was that?” asked Milo in wonder. He looked around curiously, wondering where Lynda and the other person had gone. Lacking anyone to give him an answer, he mentally reviewed the last minute. He remembered the wave of magic coming from Lynda's hand, and he had definitely become something smaller and fuzzier. His vision had gotten even worse than it was without glasses, but he could tell there were two people, and that the other was probably Cyndi by the colour of her clothes. Then he was swung around, then something else... After that it was hard to figure out. Then he’d been the small fuzzy-visioned thing again, and the two girls had merged and disappeared as he’d returned to normal. Why?
He stared down at the items on the floor. A pair of panties, and a ring. The ring he'd seen on Lynda's hand, where the magic had seemed to emanate from. He picked up the ring, marvelling at the power such an innocuous if slightly gaudy looking item could wield. Reviewing the prior events again in his mind’s eye confirmed his analysis. “If I change something else... you should appear."
Milo slipped the ring on, then looked around the entryway. There was a small pile of junk mail on a table beside the door, so he started pondering how one would go about changing a flyer into a model airplane. As quickly as thought, the magic flicked out and did just that. He had no time to snicker at his pun before both Lynda and Cyndi appeared.
Lynda glared at her friend. "You're insane! We could have all been stuck forever for all you knew."
"Wouldn't have been so bad," said Cyndi. "I'd have taken you with me. But I have a better idea, now."
Cyndi sidled up to Milo, hugging one arm around him. She purred into his ear, "Imagine her as a pair of sexy satin panties."
Lynda's eyes went wide. "Don't!" But again, it was too late. Magic flashed out at her, and once again was reflected by her mirror pendant. Milo and Cyndi were enveloped by the shimmering aura, then fluttered to the floor as a pair of purple panties, landing directly atop the ring. Lynda was briefly distracted by the way her skirt had gone from short to long at the same time, and the implication that the ring’s changes didn’t always revert immediately.
Lynda shook her head, and focussed on Milo. She picked up the pair of purple satin panties from the floor, then turned them this way and that, admiring them. Milo apparently had an artist’s imagination. They were beautiful, with amazingly detailed lace edging containing little hearts. “Huh. Somehow, this doesn’t seem quite as off-putting as before.” She carried the panties up to her room, checking to ensure that neither of her parents had come home early.
Lynda touched the ear-bud to the panties, and put it in her ear. “Well, now. Can you two hear me?”
“Yes!” called Cyndi happily. Milo was a bit slower, but answered in the affirmative as well. A little bit of questioning led Lynda to discover that they’d not been able to talk to each other until the ear-bud had been used. Now, however, they could. And Cyndi was teasing Milo mercilessly about being worn on Lynda’s private parts.
The way Milo was stammering and stuttering made even Lynda grin. “Aw, come on. You’re not the least bit curious what it would feel like?”
“Yeah,” added Cyndi enthusiastically. “You could get to third base with her before even going on a date.”
Milo harrumphed. “I would prefer to have the date first.”
“Are you asking me on a date, Milo?” asked a surprised Lynda, gently.
“I... Y... yes,” he stammered.
“Then I accept.”
Cyndi cheered. “About time. Now get him outta here so you can wear me on that date.”
“Cyndi! I’m not going to wear you on a date with Milo.”
“Awww.”
“I... I wouldn’t object,” said Milo.
“Really?” asked both Cyndi and Lynda together.
“You two are very close, I’d hate to get between you. You’ve been wearing Cyndi since she disappeared, right? And the stole at Prom was her, too.”
Lynda sighed. “Maybe I should leave you as my panties so you can’t reveal the secret.”
“Panties! Panties!” chanted Cyndi.
“I won’t tell!” promised Milo fervently.
“Do you swear not to tell anyone else that I have access to magic? My panty drawer is getting full as it is.”
“I solemnly swear not to reveal to anyone else that you have access to magic, on pain of permanent pantification.”
“Well,” mused Lynda. “It wouldn’t just be panties. I’ve always wanted a nice corset... OK, time to get you out of there.”
She put the ring on, and... nothing happened. After a sustained effort by Lynda to imagine a dozen different things in her room transforming, nothing continued to happen.
“Um, Lynda?” asked Milo softly. “Is something wrong?”
Lynda sighed. “It’s not working. The ring has been used a lot today, way more than I’ve ever done before. I think it ran out. I’m sorry, Milo. You’re stuck there for a while.”
“Aww, man,” moaned Cyndi. “You’re going to leave us in a drawer again, aren’t you? This bites.”
“I’d rather that than doing something improper.”
“Listen to you. Improper! You’re panties now, you’re supposed to be worn,” chastised Cyndi. “Get used to it. I didn’t know the ring could run out, so we might be stuck here for a long time. Not that I’d mind, except little Miss Prissy-pants won’t wear a guy she hasn’t...”
Lynda took the ear-bud out, and hoped that Milo wouldn’t go too crazy listening to Cyndi. The ability to mute her sometimes annoying friend was one of her favourite things about the current situation.

After dinner had been cleared away, Lynda returned to her room, and the panties that were lying on the bed. She picked up the ear-bud, and called out cheerfully. “Hey guys. Did you miss me?”
“Yes,” said Milo softly. “I think Cyndi fell asleep, though.”
Cyndi yawned, and said muzzily, “Did not. You stopped answering, so I gave up talking just to hear my own voice.” She yawned again.
“Well, you’ll be happy to hear that Mom’s got a knack for magic items, and she says the ring should be ready to go again. Once or twice, anyway.”
There was much rejoicing. Milo and Cyndi tumbled onto the bed, and Milo scrambled away from Cyndi before she turned into a long satin sleepshirt. Lynda tossed the ear-bud into her purse, and took Milo downstairs to meet her parents. He was very polite to them, and tried not to blush too much when her father made pointed comments about him spending time in his daughter’s bedroom.
They plied him with dinner and questions, and soon Lynda’s father drove him home so his parents wouldn’t worry.
“He’s a nice kid,” said Lynda’s mother. “Smart, and polite. You could do much worse.”
“Motherrr! We’re just going on a date.”
Lynda’s mother patted her hand. “He spent the afternoon as your panties and didn’t run away. Think about it.”
Lynda spent the rest of the evening with a grin on her face, one even Cyndi’s taunts couldn’t erase.

Two nights later, Milo picked Lynda up at her house, and drove them to a modest local restaurant. He didn’t talk much while driving, but he kept stealing peeks at her clothes.
Once they were seated, Lynda grinned and said, “Out with it. I know you want to ask.”
“Uh... Are you... that is, do we have company?”
“Yes. You said you wouldn’t mind. And I didn’t have a choice in the end.”
Milo nodded nervously. “It’s still... I haven’t really come to grips with all this.”
“Nor have I. I’ve never worn satin panties before, and now I can’t get enough of them. I never knew what I’d been missing, and Cyndi’s laughing herself silly at how she’s gotten me hooked.”
Milo turned a lovely shade of pink. “Oh. On satin, or wearing...”
Lynda shrugged. “I’m not sure yet. Both, I think.”
“Ah. I see.” It was clear, though, that he really didn’t.
“She keeps urging me to try it on you, too. I didn’t wear the ear-bud tonight, so she can keep her embarrassing comments to herself this once.”
Milo smiled genuinely for the first time that night. “That’s a relief.”
They had a pleasant meal, talking about their different reasons for being relieved that high school was finished. That naturally turned to talk about what they planned to do next. Lynda and everyone else in the school figured that Milo was going on to MIT, and he looked sad about that. He hadn’t quite made the cut, and was going to his third choice of university instead.
“But you’re the smartest student in the whole school!” protested Lynda at that news.
Milo shrugged. “That’s as may be. The competition to get into their robotics program is insane. I visited the campus, once, and...” he shook his head. “Staggering. It’s a completely different level. It’s not all bad news, I got some really good scholarship offers at some of the other universities I applied to. If I can keep my grades up, between those and my savings I should graduate debt-free.”
Lynda was suitably impressed. Her parents were paying her way through college, but just a local one so she could stay at home for free room and board.
Milo nodded at that. “A good plan. Unfortunately, it means that at best we’d have the summer together.”
Lynda smiled at him kindly. “You think things will progress so far that we’ll miss each other at summer’s end?”
Milo looked her in the eye, and nodded to where they were holding hands beside their dessert plates. “I hope so.”
After Milo had paid for dinner, they wandered outside toward his car. “What next?” asked Lynda. “Shall we watch a movie while you try to reach your arm around for a grope?”
Milo chuckled. “You’re trying to embarrass me. You forget, I spent hours trapped as your panties with Cyndi for company.”
Lynda swung the hand that was holding Milo’s merrily. “So some good came of all her teasing for once?”
“Yes and no,” Milo admitted. “She spent a lot of time describing the sensations of being worn as your satin panties. In lascivious, loving detail. Try as I might, I can’t get the idea out of my mind. It’s crazy, but I’m actually a little jealous of her.”
They arrived at the car, and Milo unlocked Lynda’s door then opened it for her. She smiled at him and gave him a quick kiss in thanks. She’d just intended it as a friendly peck, but it ended up becoming much more than that. When they broke for air, both of them were flushed and panting slightly.
“Where the heck did you learn to kiss like that?” asked Lynda in wonder.
Milo blushed a little harder. “My older sister’s a lot like Cyndi. She... arranged a ‘date’ with one of the other dancers at the... club she works at. It was very educational.”
“I bet,” laughed Lynda while fanning herself. “I can’t complain about the results. Now let’s get to that movie before I give in to Cyndi’s suggestions and tell you the way to her favourite private parking spot.”
Milo agreed, but noted that his sister had also told him about a place past the old golf course. They both laughed nervously when they realized they were talking about the same place.
“So. Which movie should we see,” prompted Lynda after the uncomfortable silence had stretched just a bit too long.
“I have no idea what’s playing,” admitted Milo. “I don’t watch movies much. How about we just go to a theatre and see what’s on?”
After some ‘no, you pick’ back and forth Milo had them both write down their first three preferences. The second ones matched, so they went with that. As the lights dimmed, Lynda leaned over and whispered, “Cyndi would probably say we shouldn’t have worried, as we shouldn’t be seeing much of the movie anyway.”
Milo chuckled. “Sounds like Kitty’s way of thinking, too. If so, we should have taken seats at the back, so nobody can see us during the show.”
Lynda craned her neck to look behind them. The theatre wasn’t busy, but there was an older couple two rows back that was already giving her a disapproving look. “Should we move?”
“Do you want to? I’d actually like to watch the movie.”
“Me too,” agreed Lynda.
They snuggled together as best the armrests would allow, and Lynda clutched Milo at the scary parts. His arm stayed around her afterward, and she found she didn’t mind a bit.
Afterward, once they’d finished laughing at all the gaping holes Milo poked in the plot, Lynda asked why he hadn’t even tried for a grope.
Milo wouldn’t meet her eyes, and instead looked straight ahead as he started the car. “Ah, well, you know...”
“Perhaps I should reward you with a peek at Cyndi, then.” She started unbuttoning her blouse, getting the first three buttons undone before Milo noted that she might want to wait for somewhere more private.
Lynda nodded and held her blouse closed with her hands, but made no move to do it up. “The old golf course?” she suggested weakly.
“Maybe closer to home. With all the hedges on your street, there has to be somewhere mostly hidden.”
Lynda admitted it was likely. When the time came, she looked about nervously, worried that one neighbour or another might be able to see, or worse that her parents might be out for a stroll. Milo had found a good spot, and it looked like they were safe. So she pulled her blouse open, and shrugged the shoulders down to her elbows. Milo’s bug-eyed reaction to what he saw made it all worthwhile.
“You’re nak... wait, where are your nipples?”
“That’s my body-shaper, Cyndi. Thanks to her I’m the opposite of naked.”
Milo reached out, then yanked his hand back. “I can’t even see the seams.”
“There aren’t any. She starts about here,” Lynda touched just above the tops of her breasts, “and goes almost to my knees. Go ahead and touch.”
Milo did so, and frowned. He rapped his knuckles against Lynda’s breast and it sounded like hard plastic. “It feels like armor.” He looked up to find her eyeing him with a cocked eyebrow. Her eyes dropped to the fist that was still held above her breast. Milo glanced down at his own hand, and seemed to realize what he'd just done. “Oh,” he said, pulling the hand back. “Sorry about that.”
Lynda laughed slightly hysterically. “Yeah. I couldn’t even feel that. Looks pretty slick, though.”
“It makes you look like a mannequin,” said Milo wonderingly.
“It does, doesn’t it?” agreed Lynda. “I don’t have a bellybutton, either. Or any of my scars.”
“Scars?” Milo pounced on the word.
Lynda sighed, and traced a fingertip under her left breast, then across her belly. “I needed surgery when I was born. They were more concerned with speed than looks. The scars have faded a lot since then, but... well, you’re the first guy to ever find out about them.”
Milo nodded. “I’m honored, then.”
Lynda covered up. “Take me home. If I’m lucky, the ring has recharged enough that I can pee.”
Milo tried to cover up his laugh, and failed. “You can’t... well, that explains you not drinking at dinner. But why would you do that to yourself?”
“Cyndi, of course. We were trying her out as different looks. She wanted to be something tiny and sexy, I wanted something more... protective. So she snarks about me wanting a combined chastity belt and body armor, and this image stuck in my head. Then the ring got all balky, and I was stuck. I swear, that ring has a wicked sense of humor.”
Milo failed to not laugh again, and Lynda chuckled along with him. “We’re going to run into that issue again, aren’t we?” he asked.
“Yeah, probably.” Lynda stopped in front of her door, and turned to Milo. “Thanks. Despite Cyndi’s ability to mess things up, I had a fun night tonight.”
“Me too.” Milo stepped closer to her, and leaned in for a kiss. Lynda wrapped her arms around him, and gave it her best effort. They were still going at it when her father opened the door and cleared his throat loudly.
Milo yelped, and backed off. “Uh, g’night. Will I see you again?”
“After that kiss? Definitely. Hi Daddy. You remember Milo.” Lynda was still out of breath.
“Oh yes, the boy who spent the afternoon in my daughter’s room. How nice to see you again.” His voice dripped with sarcasm.
“Goodnight, Lynda, Mr. P.” Milo skittered down the walk and back to his car.
Lynda pouted at her father after the door was closed. “You didn’t have to scare him off. I like him, Daddy. He was nice.”
“Hmpf. You’re late, and your blouse is rumpled.”
“Daddy! Nothing happened.” More quietly, she muttered, “nothing could have, thanks to Cyndi.”
“Well, at least you’re home safe.”
Lynda went up on tiptoes to kiss her father on the cheek. “Safe and sound. And in desperate need of the washroom. G’night, Daddy.” She dashed up the stairs, and into her room.
“C’mon you stupid ring, work...” Lynda muttered as she stripped out of the clothes that weren’t skin-tight and crafted in place. She paused to admire how she looked in the mirror, and nodded. “He was right. I do look like a mannequin. No, bad thought, don’t think that with the ring.”
Lynda slipped the ring on, and was soon clad in a comfortable fuzzy robe. “Aaah. So much better.” She put the ring back on her vanity, and picked up the ear-bud. “Hey Cyndi.”
“Hey yourself. That was a mean trick leaving the ear-bud here. All I could hear was your parents’ TV shows.”
“After everything you said? No way I was listening to you on the date. You’d have gotten me off to park with him for sure.”
“Heh. Maybe next time,” purred Cyndi. “A few gropes in a movie theatre isn’t my idea of a good date.”
“What? He didn’t grope me in the theatre. He was a perfect gentleman.”
“That arm around your shoulder? His hand was totally resting on your boob. Lightly, but still. And then later he actually knocked on your knockers.” Cyndi laughed.
Lynda shrugged. “I couldn’t feel it through you. Not at all. For all you wanted him to hit third base as panties, you kept him off second.”
“Aw, man... Wait, you don’t sound disappointed.”
“I had a good time. You helped me look awesome, I even let him have a peek at you. And he was a great kisser.”
“Do tell...”
It was a long time before Lynda got to sleep that night.
