Moonstone - Chapter 18
---------
The best thing about Christmas, Donna mused, was watching how excited the kids got about everything.  Their enthusiasm was infectious, everyone was grinning and watching them.  Which meant nobody noticed when she flipped to her Donna persona.  She was still in Duncan's body, of course -- she was pretty sure her family would notice that.  Her wife would occasionally give her a hard look, and she'd flip back to being boring old Duncan again.

As Duncan, he had access to his engineering training -- which did come in handy when putting together some of the new toys.  He tried flipping his mindset back and forth while working one one particularly complex assembly task.  It was far easier to do with Duncan's mindset.  When Courtney wanted to play with dolls, though, it was more fun as Donna.

The post-Christmas break was nice, a chance to visit with family from out of town.  By the 29th they'd all headed back home.  Duncan was becoming acutely aware of the fact that every night he didn't dance he didn't earn anything either.  So after dinner, she put her moon-patterned bra back on, and let the Moonstone change her into Donna's lithe but very busty dancer's body.  She danced around in the bedroom, nimbly avoiding the many obstacles, revelling in the power and grace of her body.

Courtney's eyes lit up when she saw 'Auntie Donna' again, and she ran to give her a big hug.  Donna gave in to her entreaties, and read her a few stories.  On her way out, she kissed her wife and said, "Don't wait up."

"Aw, you're dancing tonight?"

"Bills to pay..."

Sidney sighed.  "I know.  I just never sleep as well when you're not here."

Going back to the Blue Vixen after a week away felt like coming home.  Rowan welcomed her back, and was glad to hear she planned to dance.  "We've been a bit short on dancers this week, and missing our best dancer."

Donna looked puzzled, "But Hannah's over there..."

Rowan rolled her eyes.  "You know who I mean."

Donna grinned.  "Thanks.  I'm glad to be back."

Rowan hadn't been kidding about being short on dancers.  Donna felt like she'd danced pretty much every other set.  She went through all three of her outfits multiple times, and changed her act up as much as she could to help keep some variety for the crowd.  They didn't seem to mind seeing so much of Donna, especially if you counted the tips.  It was a good night.

Once the doors were closed behind the last customer, Rowan called Donna into the smaller private dressing room again.  The package of bras from Pauline had arrived.  Donna looked them over.

"Wow, they're all so pretty.  Even the huge ones."  She picked up one of Kate's new bras.  "L-cups?  Darn, she'll be ahead by a bit."

Rowan tossed her a wrapped packet.  "She sent this for you, too."

Donna opened it, and an enormous pink bra tumbled into her hands.  She checked the 'Made by Pauline' tag.  "42N.  That'll do it.  I'll have to be careful, though."

"Oh?  Why?"

"This was made for Kimmy.  Too long with the Moonstone and it'll turn me into her clone."

"Hm."  Rowan surveyed the pile of bras.  "These were all made with specific dancers in mind.  So we could do a twins act?"

"If someone doesn't mind looking like someone else.  And can dance as them."

Rowan gave her a significant look.

Donna chuckled.  "Yes, I'll do it.  As long as the other girl doesn't object.  I'm sure Kate would go for it, at least."

"Tomorrow's going to be fun," Rowan grinned.

When Donna walked into the green room the next night, it was abuzz with activity.  There were more dancers dressing, undressing, touching up their makeup or just waiting to dance than Donna had ever seen before.  Rowan spotted her first, and quickly drew her aside into the smaller private dressing room.

"Did you bring it?" she asked, the instant the door closed behind them.

"Of course!" replied Donna, holding up an ordinary looking cloth shopping bag.  She pulled out a towel-wrapped bundle that revealed the Moonstone's box.  A quick flip of the slats showed the stone inside.

Rowan smiled with relief.  "Oh good.  Everyone has heard, of course.  If you hadn't brought it, there would probably be a riot."

"Well..."

"What?"

"You've seen the weather.  There are lots of breaks in the clouds, but the Moon has to rise higher before I can charge the Moonstone."

"Oh.  How do you do that?"

"I'll need direct Moonlight."  Donna looked at the back wall of the dressing room.  "Those boarded up windows face south, right?  Over the parking lot?"

"I think so."

Donna stood beside one, and looked toward the Moon.  Pointing to where she could feel its presence, she said, "The moon is there, now.  By nine it will be..."  She moved her arm up and right, pointing to the upper corner boarded window "about there.  Can we open this up, somehow?  Otherwise I'll need to go out the fire exit from time to time to see if it's clear."

"It's too cold out for that.  I'll get Ben in here, he's our handyman as well as a bouncer."

Soon enough the top half of the window was exposed.  To prevent peeping Toms, Rowan got Ben to smear some vaseline on the window to blur the view.  Donna waited in the dressing room, impatiently watching over the Moonstone.  It was entirely dark, as she'd discovered the previous night, without enough power for even a single change. She cupped her hand before it, and couldn't feel even the faintest flicker of its power.

Not long after the designated hour, the clouds broke and the window lit up with Moonlight.  To Donna's relief, the Moonstone soon answered with its own glow -- she wouldn't have to brave the cold.  In her impatient eyes it seemed to be taking longer than normal to charge.  Once she felt it was glowing as brightly as ever, she closed the slats of the Moonstone's box.

When Dona cracked the dressing room's door open, she was immediately pounced on by Rowan.  "Is it ready?"

Donna grinned, and nodded.  "Bring 'em in."

Soon the little room was quite crowded, with the four volunteers, Rowan and Donna.  Rowan doled out the new bras.  Donna vetoed Kate's first choice, a tiger-striped bra.  "No patterns."

"Why not?"  Kate asked, as she picked up a bright red bra to replace her first choice.

"Costumes and the Moonstone don't mix. They work a little too well."

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"You'll see.  Everyone ready?"

Most of them nodded eagerly.  Hannah merely shrugged.

Donna flipped the slats of the Moonstone's box open.  "Make sure you can see the stone."

There was a little shuffling around.  Then some mostly silent waiting.  After a bit, Kate spoke up.  "Is something supposed to be happening?  I feel a bit silly with these tents on my chest."

Donna snickered softly at that -- Kate's bra was five sizes too big, and it did hang rather saggily.  "It should already have... hm."  She turned to the Moonstone, waving her hand in front of the box.  She could feel the power radiating from it, so why wasn't it working?

When she looked back at the dancers, they were all staring at Liana.  The slim half-asian girl had taken off her bra.  It was clear the Moonstone had worked for her, bumping her up from 'barely a handful' to 'wow'.  Rowan was nodding at Liana.  "You were right.  That's just about the perfect size on you.  Any bigger on your frame would be silly."

"That's... how is this possible?" asked Kate.

"Magic," Donna replied with a grin of relief.  "Until you've seen it, nobody can tell you about it."

"Oh.  So that's why you were evasive, before?"

Donna nodded.

"But why isn't it working for us?" demanded Heather, loudly enough to be heard outside.  An angry murmur rose outside the door.

Donna looked between the girls, racking her brains.  Why Liana, and not the others?  She noticed Liana's gold rings, then her eyes widened.  All the girls were still wearing their usual jewellery.

"Take off your rings and bangles...  Anything silver, it messes up the magic."

All of them started taking rings, earrings, bracelets and anklets off.  "Not you, Liana.  Gold is fine."

To Donna's amazement, Heather was blushing almost as red as her hair.  "Even..."  She gestured at her waist.

"Hm?  Oh!  Well, if it's surgical steel or nickel, no."

Heather was the last to deposit her trinkets with Rowan, who promised to keep them safe.  As a result, she was the last to fill her bra out, but she was the first to lead the charge out of the dressing room.  All the waiting dancers gasped in amazement at Heather's new endowments, and cheered at Kate.  "She can do that?  "Let me see!"  "What's it like?"

Rowan called for silence, then started organizing the order of dances.  Attention turned from Donna and the dressing room, and she let out a sigh of relief.

"Um, could I get a hand?" asked a soft voice from behind her.  Donna hadn't realized there was still someone in the room with her.  She turned and saw the new girl, one she only half recognized.

"You were one of the finalists at the wet t-shirt contest, right?  I don't think we've really met."

The girl nodded.  "Yeah, I'm Zoey.  I'd shake your hand but... well, that's the problem."

Donna looked at her more closely, then laughed.  "You put your hands in your bra."

Zoey nodded abashedly.  "I wanted to feel them grow.  But my hands got stuck, and when I tried to wriggle them free I just got even more stuck."  Her arms were mostly gone -- everything below the elbow had already been absorbed into her chest.  As Donna watched, even more of the girl's arms were being pulled in.

"Don't worry.  You'll be fine in a bit."

"I hoped so.  What should I do?"

Donna shrugged.  "Just wait it out.  Once your arms are gone, you'll start growing new ones. It'll go faster if you have a shirt handy."

Zoey peered out the half-open door at the milling dancers.  "I think I'll take my chances in here.  Almost gone..."  They both watched as the seams between Zoey's arms and torso smoothed out and vanished.

"How long will they take to grow back?"  Zoey asked, calmly.

"About the same as it took to vanish.  Unless I do this."  Donna flicked the slats of the Moonstone's box shut.

"What'd you do that for?"

"Are you in such a rush to be normal?  I got the impression you were having fun.  You're not freaking out about this, like some might."

Zoey didn't answer.  She looked at one empty shoulder, then the other.  After a bit she sighed.  "I can't think of any way to have fun with this.  Can I have my arms back now, please?"

Donna flipped the slats open again.  "Sure."

A few minutes later Zoey went out to dance looking none the worse for her 'ordeal'.

Donna danced several sets, giving it her all, as usual.  When she let herself go with the flow of the music, she could feel the Moon's power dancing with her.  Buoyed by its support, she would dance like a woman possessed.  It was glorious.  The tips were less so - she wasn't the biggest bust out there tonight.  Kate was bigger, and Hannah was pretty much the same size as her.  She was also far better at entertaining the crowd with lewd antics.

Even Liana was cutting into her business.  She'd asked to be changed back to normal shortly after Zoey emerged, but Rowan had persuaded her to try "just one dance" while she was enhanced, and she'd quite taken to it.  Still, at midnight she approached Donna.  "It's time for me to change back."

"If you're sure," Donna replied, leading the way to the dressing room where the Moonstone was secured.  Rowan unlocked the door for the two of them.

Liana seemed oddly relieved to have her chest back to normal, and Donna asked why.

Liana sighed.  "Let's just say going home like that would be... trouble."

Donna nodded.  "Fair enough.  Think you'll try this again next month?"

Liana brightened, her face breaking out in a huge grin.  "You'll be doing this again?"

"Yep.  I had fun tonight, and just about everyone here wants in on it next time.  I'm just glad they'll all be back to normal in a week, my tips are taking a beating now that I'm not top boob."  Donna laughed ruefully.

"This should help," said Rowan, coming up behind the two.  She pressed a bundle of cash into Donna's hands.

"But... I told you, I can't charge people to use the magic."

"This is a tip, not a fee.  The girls and I came to an agreement, one third of tonight's income."

Donna looked at the money in her hands.  There was no compulsion to give it back, unlike she'd felt when considering charging for it.  "Huh.  That works.  Thank you!"   She started counting the bills.  "Liana didn't tip, did she?  She not keeping the boost."

"If you say so.  She did pretty well tonight, though.  Didn't you, Liana?"

Liana grinned and nodded.  "It was fun having big breasts for once."  She cupped her normal bra and breasts.  "I miss them already."

"This is twice what I make on an average night," Donna noted.  "One third times the three of them... so they're making about twice what I do?  Well, it gives me something to work toward..."

Rowan shook her head.  "That's just Hannah's.  She went home at midnight.  Kate and Zoey are still running up the score."

Kate stuck her head in the room upon hearing her name.  "Best night ever!  You'll be getting a good tip from me, too."  She hefted her enormous breasts.  "Totally worth it!"

"But... Hannah makes six times what I do?  How?"

Rowan looked at Kate, who nodded then started to explain.  "The big money isn't in dancing on the stage.  It's lap dances and especially private room dances.  If you watch Hannah when she's not on stage, she's out and about in the crowd.  She knows everyone here by name, even guys who have only been here once or twice before.  I'm getting there.  I know all the regulars, but they already have their favourites."  Kate bounced up and down, jiggling her new breasts again.  "These are helping change some minds tonight."

Donna looked stricken.  "I can't do that.  I'm terrible with names.  I put everything into being a good dancer."

"And you're a great dancer," Kate said.  "You make more up on the stage than anyone else, even Hannah.  Did the magic help with that?"

Donna nodded.  "More than a little, honestly.  I worked hard to get better at it, so a good bit is me."

"Could you do the same, but with, you know, dealing with people?"

Donna bit her lip.  "Mmmmaybe.  I think so.  But the dance thing already messed with my personality.  I promised my... someone important to me that I wouldn't go further.  Honestly, the idea scares me a little.  Where would I stop?  Would I still be me?"

"Oh.  I see.  So what will you do?"

Donna shrugged.  "What I do best.  Dance."

"You know," Kate mused, "if you were less intimidating up there, you might get some private room requests."

"She's right, you know," Rowan added.  "Your dancing wouldn't work in the smaller private rooms.  The price on number three is beyond most of the punters."

"Intimidating, huh?"  Donna said, with a dangerous tint to her voice.  "I'll show them intimidating."  She stalked out.

Donna's next set was soon, so she sought out the club's DJ.  "Hey Leo."

"Hey Donna.  How's my favourite dancer?"

Donna laughed.  "I bet you say that to all the girls."

The lanky man laughed.  "Only the ones that tip like you."

Donna had made a habit of giving Leo more than the expected tip each night.  He was really good at his job, and a little extra got her music she liked and a bit of fun stuff mixed in to boot.

"I need something... feral."  Donna asked, intensely.

Leo mused for a bit.  "You like Duran Duran, right?"  Donna nodded.  "How about 'Wild Boys'?"

Donna paused a moment to listen to the song in her head.  "Perfect!  You know me so well."  She dropped three times her usual tip in front of Leo.  "Amp it up - have fun with it."

Leo grinned broadly as he scooped the bills up.  "You got it!  One Leo special, coming up.  What kind of intro do you want?"

Donna shook her head.  "None.  Just the music."

Leo nodded.  "Better scamper, you're up in 30."

Donna ducked back through the concealed doorway into the back hall, and made it to the stage entrance with a few seconds to spare.  Leo gave her a wave from his station, then started the music.

Donna prowled onto the stage, shaking her hair out into a wild mane.  She let the rhythm of the music flow through her.  Leo was already mixing in something new, something wilder.  Donna threw herself into the music and the dance, letting her instincts and the primal rhythms guide her.  She felt the Moon's power and instead of just dancing with it, she actively called out to it.  Power surged through her, and she danced like she had never danced before.  She exulted in her body's grace and power, effortlessly leaping across the stage.  Every eye was on her, and the crowd was still, mesmerized.

The music went on, and on, and on.  Donna lost all track of time, existing only in the ecstasy of the dance.

Leo came to her rescue, slowing the music, dampening the wildness, and drawing the song to an end.  Donna curled up gratefully at the back of the stage, panting like mad from the exertion and heat.  When the lights dimmed, she slowly limped her way back to the stage entrance, limbs trembling from exhaustion.  The footing was tricky, she'd shed her shoes before even starting and now her pawpads were slick with sweat.

Ana met her at the bottom of the stairs off the stage, wrapping an arm around her to support her the rest of the way.  It took a moment for Donna to focus on the older dancer's face, and realize that what she saw there was a look of awe.

"What did that one guy do, anyway?" Ana asked.

"Urrr?" Donna replied, confusedly.

"The one you jumped across the stage at.  Once you turned away, he scuttled off to the washroom.  I think you made him pee his pants."

Donna grinned from eartip to eartip, remembering.  "Hrree said, 'herrre puss, puss'."  She coughed experimentally.  Her voice felt oddly resonant, was she coming down with a cold?

Ana shook her head at Donna's confusion.  "You don't even know what you've done to yourself, do you?"  She pulled Donna by the paw into the green room.  The room went quiet, all the dancers staring at Donna.

Donna stopped in front of a mirror.  As she caught sight of herself she yowled briefly in alarm, her tail bottling out.  She was... how could she even go out there like that?  Her face wasn't human, it was halfway between human and feline.  There was fur all over her arms and chest, sandy brown, like a cougar's.  Panic welled up in her at the thought of being in public like that, and Donna felt a wash of power burst from the Moon-shaped mark in the middle of her chest.

Moments later, her reflection was as she remembered it.  A human face looked back at her, atop a human body.  She sighed with relief.

Ana sighed with something akin to loss.  "But... you were...  How?"

Donna shook her head.  "The Moon.  I'm just glad I'm back to normal."

Ana gave a gravelly laugh, and pointed to Donna's tail.  "Not exactly."

Donna looked down.  The mirror had only showed her from the waist up.  All of that was normal again.  But from the waist down... she was still half-cougar.  Her tail swished in agitation.  "I need to fix this."   She touched the Moon-mark, and saw that it had gone dark and grey.  No power to be found there, now.  It had done all it could do just changing her upper body.  "Where's Rowan?  I need her to unlock the dressing room so I can use the Moonstone."

Ana tagged along behind Donna, and watched as she stood before the open box.  Slowly the fur receded, starting under her panties, and working its way down from there.

Ana sighed regretfully.  "How was that possible?"

"Magic, of course."

"I thought it just turned you into your clothes.  You know, like Kate and the others."

Donna nodded.  "Mostly, yes.  I have... a bit of control over it.  I'm not sure how it developed.  Once per full Moon I can guide the Moonstone."

"Once?  But you changed into a catgirl, then part way back again.  That's two changes."

Donna shrugged.  "I didn't really mean to do the first one.  But... yeah, sometimes more than once, lately."

"Can you change me?"  Ana asked, a little too eagerly.

"I'm tapped out, remember?"

"You've recharged before, maybe you will again.  If you do, will you change me?"

"Into?"

Ana closed her eyes and hugged herself tightly.  When she spoke it was only a whisper.  "A cat-girl, like you were."

Donna looked at the older dancer, studying her.  "You can't go out in public if you're too obviously changed.  The magic won't let you.  I have no idea how I was out dancing like that.  It shouldn't have been possible."

"The club isn't public.  It's private.  You can't see the stage, or even the audience, until you're fully inside."

"Oh?  Now I wish I could change you.  I'd love to test that.  I suppose we could use the Moonstone...  Where does Rowan keep the cat-ears?"

Ana glanced over at a storage cabinet, then quickly back at Donna.  "I, uh, don't know.  Why don't you go ask her?"  She nudged Donna toward the door of the room.  Donna didn't note the sound of the door locking shut behind her.

Before she found Rowan, she got distracted from her task.  Everyone was talking about the cat-girl who'd danced up on the stage, and wondering who it had been.  Donna smiled at the memory, laughed softly at the rumours, but said nothing.

"Donna, do you know anything about this cat-girl?"  Rowan asked when she found her.

Donna nodded, and looked around to make sure nobody was listening.  "That was me," she murmured.  "I'm sorry if I caused trouble, I didn't mean to..."

Rowan shook her head.  "No!  No trouble.  Besides, did you see the crowd?  They lapped it up.  I wanted to get her to dance again.  Plus there are three private room requests for her."  She looked Donna over.  "You don't look like a cat."

"I got better," Donna laughed.

"Pity.  Could you do it again?"

Donna shrugged.  "Maybe next month?  I'm not sure how to make it happen, it mostly seems to be once per full Moon.  Unless we use the Moonstone and a cat costume, but that has other problems."

"Oh?"

Donna was about to explain when she remembered Ana's request.  "Um... do you keep the Hallowe'en costumes in the dressing room?"

Rowan nodded.  "Why?"

"Let's just say we're about to have a practical demonstration of the problems.  Come on, let's see what Ana has done to herself."

"Where is she, anyway?  She's up soon."

Donna pointed to the dressing room where the Moonstone was being stored.  "She locked herself in there with the costumes and the Moonstone."

Rowan unlocked the door, and looked inside.  "Why is there a cat in the dressing room?  And where is Ana?"

The little black cat in the middle of the floor looked up at them and mewed plaintively.  Donna sighed, walked over to the moonbeam it was sitting in, and crouched down next to it.  She noticed that it was curled up in a bra, one that she remembered seeing Ana wear not long ago.

"OK.  How to prove this quickly...  One meow for no, two for yes.  Are you Ana?"

Meow meow went the cat.

"That could just be a coincidence," said Rowan.  "Or a trained cat."

"Fine.  Point at Rowan."  The cat did so.  "Can you touch your nose with a paw?"  The cat did that, too.  "Believe me yet?"

"Well... it seems a bit improbable."

"Magic, remember?"  Donna addressed the cat again.  "You put on one of the Hallowe'en costumes, right?"

The cat meowed twice.

"Then opened the Moonstone's box."

Meow.

"Right, it was already open.  You thought it would change you into a cat-girl?"

Meow meow.

"And the costume merged with you, but you kept on changing..."

Meow meow said the cat, softly.

"And I guess you didn't know that the Moonstone likes costumes better than normal clothes... so you can't change back by putting on human clothes, not while you're still 'wearing' the costume."

Meeeeooooowww yowled the cat, plaintively.

Donna scooped the cat up, and hugged it to her chest.  "I'm sorry, Ana.  I think you're stuck like this for a week.  I'm sure one of the others will take you home and care for you."

"I'd do it," chimed in Kate from the doorway.  "But my apartment doesn't allow cats."

"Mine does," said Zoey, peeking in beside Kate.  "Hopefully Ana will be nicer as a cat."

Ana hissed at Zoey.

"I guess not.  It won't be that bad, Ana.  I'll even get the really good cat food for you."

Ana meowed once, plaintively.  Then she stared at Donna's chest, and started patting at it.  She meowed twice, patted, meowed twice, and patted again.

Donna looked down, and saw the glow from her Moon-mark.  "Oh!  Clever kitty...  Maybe there's a chance to change you back yet.  Can you two close the door?  I don't want everyone seeing this."

Kate and Zoey closed the door, as asked.  From the inside, after letting Rowan out.  Donna shook her head, but grinned.  "I guess that works."

Donna carried Ana in front of the Moonstone's box, so they were both in its glow.  She closed her eyes, and put her hand to the cat's head.  Ana squeaked softly when Donna tugged on her ears, but held steady.  After a few tries, the ears came clear, attached to a cat-sized headband.  Donna quickly dropped it onto the table.

"OK.  Did you only put the ears on?"

Ana meowed twice.

Donna nodded, then set her back down on the floor, on top of the bra she'd been perched on.  It was in view of the Moonstone, so she stepped back to watch.  The other two girls gasped as the cat seemed to slowly melt down into the bra.  Its fur pulled back, and vanished.  After about a minute, what had been a cat was simply a pair of breasts.

"Is that... safe?" breathed Kate.  "Doesn't she need air?"

"Nah.  The magic takes care of that."

There was a soft click from the Moonstone's box.  Donna and Kate stared over at it, and Zoey's hand on the lever.  "Why would you do that?"

Zoey stared down at the breasts on the floor.  "She's safe, right?  And... well, she's a lot nicer like this."  She leaned down, and scooped them up.  Their nipples hardened as she touched them.  "She even seems to like it."

"Existing in a world of nothing but touch?  Yeah, it's..."  Donna realized both girls were looking at her, and she blushed.  "What?"

"What's it like?" asked Zoey.

"Put her back in her bra, and I'll show you."

While Zoey was putting Ana back in place, Donna dug out the enormous pink bra Pauline had sent with the others.  She flipped the Moonstone box open again, then handed the bra to Zoey.

"Here.  Stand in it and I'll push you in until you're just..."

Zoey put one cup of the bra over her bare breasts.  "This thing is huge.  Look, they both fit!  Hey, what's happening?"  As she moved to pull it away, Donna stayed her hand.

"Wait until it's done.  This should be fun."

After a minute, Zoey set the bra aside.  Her pair of breasts had merged into one single enormous one.  "Coool."

Kate laughed.  "So it doesn't care how you put the clothes on?"

Donna shook her head.  "Don't put your panties on backwards.  It's... well, a weird experience.  That one, I do know about first-hand."

"I bet.  What about bras?  If I put a second bra on," Kate picked up the bra she'd worn before her 'upgrade' earlier that night, and perched it under her breasts.  "What would... oh!"

Donna laughed.  "Yes, oh indeed.  Looks good on you, though."

Kate looked at herself in the mirror, two large breasts under her enormous ones.  "They're a bit lost under there, but... yeah.  I like it."

Rowan took that moment to tap on the door, then stick her head in.  "Is Ana ready yet?  Last set, it's usually hers."

Ana sighed from the floor.  "Halfway there.  How much longer until I have legs again?"

Donna looked down at her.  "A few more minutes, I'd guess.  Takes longer the further the limb is from the clothes, sorry."

"I can wait.  I'm just glad to have my body back.  Well, part of it."

"Can we go?" asked Kate.  "I want to show this off."

Rowan looked at the two girls, and did a double take.  "What have you...  Oh my.  Do you really want to go out there like that?"

Kate nodded eagerly.  "It's late, most of the guys left out there are too drunk to remember this anyway.  It'll be fun."  She tugged Zoey toward the stage with her.  The younger dancer wasn't protesting.

Rowan shook her head.  "An interesting night indeed.  Hm.  You never did do that twins act with Kate, Donna."

"Maybe next time."

A while after Rowan left, Ana finally had legs and feet once more.  She stood up, and gave Donna a hug.  "Thanks for fixing this."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the costume thing."

Ana waved it off.  "Not your fault.  To be honest... I'd do it again, if I wouldn't get stuck for a week."

"No promises.  I'm about tapped out, getting that headband off was tricky."

Ana gave her a hopeful grin.  "Got enough left for a pair of ears?"

"After all that... you still want to be a catgirl?  Even if you can't go out in public?"

Ana nodded.  "More than ever."

"I'll see what I can do."  Donna touched her hands to Ana's ears, and tugged on them softly.  They rose to the top of Ana's head, and grew large and pointy.  A fine sheen of fur the same dirty blonde as Ana's hair grew on them.

Donna sighed, and dropped her hands.  "Sorry, that's it.  I'm done."

Ana inspected the results in the mirror.  "They look like fuzzy elf-ears."

"I'm sorry.  I can do better next month."

"Sorry?"  Ana touched one ear, and it twitched away from her hand.  "I have cat ears!  Eeeee!"  Ana hugged Donna mightily, then bounced out the door.

Donna shook her head, laughing softly.  "I wonder how she'll feel in a week."  She packed up the Moonstone, and headed out the door.
