Raveled 3
-------------
Jess was so relieved to have reflexive use of her arms and hands back that she was almost willing to forgive Tess for turning her hair electric blue. Of course, Tess had caused the arm issues in the first place... Still, the hair looked amazing all shiny and blue. So it was a net win, Jess figured. She kept it that way all week, and got lots of compliments about it - some even from guys.
Having guys stare above her eyes instead of below them was also somewhat novel. By the end of the week she was heartily sick of that as well. Friday night found her and Tess at Don's apartment and playing with the magic ribbon once more. The first step was, of course, to wrap Jess' hair in the ribbon three times then pull it loose as a bundle of ribbon.
Tess giggled. She was already a little drunk. "You look really good bald."
Jess admired her rounded head in the mirror. "I could live with it. I'd rather have normal hair, though, after this week."
"You know the drill. Three hours and you'll have it back. Unless I try it on... Want to swap?"
Jess shrugged. "Sure, sounds like fun. Um... will that work?"
"Can't hurt to try." Tess was already wrapping her hair in the ribbon.
While they waited for their hair-ribbons to turn back to normal, Jess poured them both drinks. Tess managed to talk Jess into dancing with her again. Jess even kept her arms this time. Secretly she still wished she was armless, and could feel as light and as free as she had without them.
Eventually, their hair ribbons reassembled themselves into two wigs - one of long wavy hair, the other a cute pixie cut.
The girls found that the 'wigs' stuck to each other's scalp readily enough. However, when Tess tried to comb Jess' long wavy hair, the comb snagged, and pulled the hair right off her head. It reattached just fine, but never attached any stronger, even after letting it set for an hour. When they traded back, their hair stayed firmly fixed in place.
"Well fooey," slurred Jess. "Your hair looked cute on me."
"If we were cere... core... cur... careful, we'd be OK." Tess was listing pretty badly.
"Maybe next week. We don't have another three hours. You need your rest."
Tess nodded, and let Jess lead her to bed.
The next morning, Jess was awake first. She put the coffee on, and while it was brewing she admired her new pixie cut hair in the mirror. It would be a lot easier to maintain, she mused.
A bleary-eyed and bald Tess stumbled from her bedroom, and was very grateful for the coffee mug Jess pressed into her hands. She drained it, and was shortly feeling much more human. "Nice hair, Jess. When'd you get it cut?"
"I... uh, just had the sudden urge, so I popped out first thing."
Tess peered at the clock. "Before ten?"
Jess shrugged. "Got tired of waiting on sleeping beauty."
Tess stuck her tongue out at Jess. She rubbed her hand over her bald head, and Jess tensed slightly. "Still, if you want to go low-maintenance, go bald like me. You'll never go back."
Jess grinned. It had worked, Tess didn't remember. Maybe she could keep this hair for a while, it really suited her.
Don emerged from the bedroom he and Tess shared. "Cute hair, Jess. I liked that cut on Tess... Um, why the cueball look, toots?"
Tess looked from Don to Jess, puzzlement on her face. Jess started snickering and Tess' eyes widened. "You minx!" she cried, "You spiked my drinks!"
"Did not!" countered Jess. "I just made mine without vodka."
"You seemed as drunk as me," mused Tess. "I didn't think you were that good an actress."
Jess grinned. "I guess I've been hanging around you too much." She sighed. "I suppose you want your hair back, then."
Tess blinked. "Oh. Right." She shrugged. "No hurry, I'm liking the streamlined look."
Don grumbled, "I don't like it."
Tess waved off his objection. "You're just saying that because you don't like the ribbon."
Don sulked off, back to the bedroom with his coffee and toast.
"You'd better not get crumbs in the bed again!" Tess shouted at the closed door.
Tess sighed. "We'd better put this back. I'm going to have to get drunk again so I don't feel compelled to shave my head all week, aren't I?"
"Probably."
Tess put on her best sinister look and declaimed, "No place, indeed, should ribbon sanctuarize; Revenge should have no bounds." Her evil laugh gave Jess the shivers. Until Tess broke down giggling. "You should see your face!"
The next Friday, when Jess showed up for what was becoming her and Tess' regular weekly booze-up, Jess had a new hairstyle. She showed it off as she bounced excitedly through Tess' door. "What do you think?"
Tess laughed. "I thought you went to bed sober last week. You shouldn't be fixated on my hair."
Jess shook her head. "I'm not. It just looked really cute on me, and I thought it'd be fun to be twins again."
"Well, from the neck up, anyway. Hm. With the ribbon, that might have potential..."
"My thoughts exactly."
Tess poured drinks. The two spent the evening reminiscing over the old place-swapping pranks they had pulled in high school. They never did go dancing. As Tess poured Jess into the guest room bed, she muttered, "This is becoming a habit. Now what to do with you?"
Jess woke with a pounding headache to the sounds of Tess' voice. It sounded like Don was answering her. It was hard to be sure, between the door and the monosyllabic answers. As her door creaked open she thought she heard Tess say, "Don't say anything, or you'll wreck it!"
"Say what?" Jess asked, blearily.
"Nothing, nothing. Here, have some coffee!" said Tess.
Jess accepted the mug gratefully. By the time she was even halfway ready to face the day, Tess had hustled Don out the door with vague promises to be back that night, and to "make yourself at home!"
Jess was quite content to stay at the apartment, lazing in front of the TV. Don's new TV was way nicer than the one at her parents' place. Not that it made Saturday morning shows any less idiotic.
Before long she tired of that. Feeling better, and somewhat peckish, she availed herself of the same cereal she'd eaten armlessly two weeks prior. Since no-one could see, she tried lapping some of it up. Somehow, it just wasn't the same. And it was a lot slower, so she resumed using the spoon.
Jess put her bathrobe away in the guest bedroom closet, and got out more of the shapeless shirts she'd always worn to hide her lack of a chest. Next she went into the chest of drawers for fresh panties. There was an empty spot beside them, where bras would logically go if she actually needed them. As she dug through her other drawers for the rest of her clothes she realized something. They were all quite full.
"I suppose," she sighed to herself, "that Don's right. For once. I pretty much have moved in. I wonder what a third of the rent comes to."
To earn her keep, Jess started tidying up around the place, putting on a few loads of laundry. It was when she was putting away some of Tess' socks that she finally figured out what had been bugging her all day. There, beside panties and some rather racy A-padded-to-B-cup bras were a stack of H-cups in drab colours Tess would never wear.
Tess had pinched her breasts! And to cover up, she'd stolen Jess' bras, too. Clever... but not clever enough.
Jess was ready to confront Tess when she came in. But instead of shoving a fistful of H-cup bras in Tess' face she just stared. Tess was flaunting her new figure, in a shiny red low-cut top that let a lacy black bra peek through.
"I see you found the bras," commented Tess into the stunned silence.
"You look amazing!"
Tess twisted to show the top off. "I know! Don went totally gaga over them, too."
"I wish I could look half that good with 'em. Wait... what about Don?"
"You totally could. We wear the same band size in bras, this outfit will fit you just fine."
Jess blinked. "It will? Oh! Right. Can I have my chest back now?" she asked, plaintively.
Tess grinned. "That depends."
"On?"
"Are you done staring?"
Jess blushed a deep crimson, and tried very hard to look anywhere but Tess. She lasted just under half a minute. Tess grinned wickedly and started unbuttoning her top. "You'll have to help me."
Jess gulped. "I will?" She followed Tess into her bedroom, and blushed even brighter when the top hit the bed. "Damn. I'm sure I'd remember if my breasts ever looked that good."
Tess shrugged. "You were wearing the wrong kinds of bra. With the right support... How the heck did you survive in those granny bras of yours, anyway? My back was killing me after an hour. I had to cut short my date with Don to go bra shopping. The lunk bailed on me at the mall - I guess I'll have to show off all my new purchases to you instead."
"To... me?" Jess squeaked.
Tess dumped a bag out onto the bed, and bras in red, purple and emerald green spilled out. They were by far the prettiest H-cup bras Jess had ever seen, and she teared up a little.
Tess brushed the tear from Jess' cheek. "Oh, sweetie, what's wrong?"
"They're just so beautiful! I never got pretty bras once my breasts grew. I thought I was doomed to ugly ones."
"Oh... you remember?"
"Growing them, yes. There's a fuzzy patch over the past few months. I don't remember losing them or anything, just... they aren't there in my memories."
Tess tossed the black bra to the bed. "I should stop teasing you and let you try them on, then." she sighed as she dug the magic ribbon out of the box of toys in her bedside table. "I was just getting used to having real breasts, too. Bye, beautiful breasts. Be bouncy and bountiful for my bosom buddy."
Jess giggled at Tess' wordplay, then reached out in alarm as Tess twirled the ribbon around herself, encircling her torso three times. Jess got silkified fingers for her trouble, while Tess' entire upper torso turned silky and showed a spiral pattern. "What are you doing, you'll fall to..."
Tess tugged on the ribbon-end under her armpit, and as it unwound she tumbled to the bed in two pieces. Three, if you counted the ribbon that had been the upper half of her torso.
"What did you do that for?" asked Jess.
"Had to make sure I got everything, right? I'd hate to only give you part of your chest back."
"Oh. I guess that makes sense." Jess dug through the pile of ribbons, separating the two strands into piles. "Um, which one is the breasts?"
Tess stirred one pile with a finger. "Oooh. I felt that, it felt like my back. So the other one's your chest."
Jess poured the ribbon from hand to hand. "That feels weird."
"Good weird or bad weird?"
Jess shuddered delicately as her fingers found a sensitive bit of ribbon. "Very good weird. But it feels like... a ghost limb, I guess. Pleasurable tickles where I'm not supposed to have anything."
Tess nodded. "You were pretty drunk. You'll have to get sloshed again tonight, and you'll be fine in the morning."
"Will you leave me alone this time?" Jess fretted.
"Of course! Friday night is ribbon prank night."
Jess grinned. "Is that how it is? Cool. It's my turn to pour next."
Tess cowered in mock terror. "Alas and alack! I am doomed!"
They both shared a good giggle at that.
"Now what do we do?" asked Jess.
"You pick up my arms and head, and I try to figure out how to walk my legs. We can watch TV until dinnertime, our parts will be normal by then."
"If detached."
Tess held out her arms to Jess, who scooped up her friend. Tess' legs wobbled to their feet, and promptly fell over. After half a dozen tries and much giggling, she finally got them balanced. "This is harder than I figured."
"No sense of balance - it's all in your ears."
"Oh, right! But if I focus on the pressure on my feet..." Tess' legs took one step and promptly fell down. Jess picked them up as well, and carried both parts of her friend into the living room.
Instead of TV, the girls spent hours watching Tess' legs learn how to walk. Tess' balance was finally getting good enough to try a few dance steps when Don barged in. He took one look at the disembodied dancing legs, and fled to the bedroom.
"Why is there a flat fucking chest on my bed?" Don moaned from the bedroom.
Jess bounced to her feet, and off to sort things out. Tess watched her friend go, reflecting on how that move would normally threaten to blacken her eyes. She was intimately familiar with that threat after the last day, and winced.
Jess darted into Tess and Don's bedroom, scooped up Tess' chest and a few bras, and had dumped them back on the couch before she realized something was missing.
She went back into the bedroom and looked around. No Don,and no breasts. "Don... where'd the breasts go?"
"Can't I keep them just a little longer?" Don's voice emerged from the door to the common bathroom.
"No!"
"Just another minute..."
"Don!"
"Fine." The door creaked open just enough for Don to roll the breasts out.
"Why are they sticky? Ugh. Bastard." Jess washed them in the kitchen sink before returning to Tess.
Tess had already reassembled herself, and was sadly examining her much-reduced chest. She looked over at the breasts in Jess' hands. "Parting is such sweet sorrow. I'll miss you, girls. Despite the backache. And bruises."
Jess laughed. "Was it that bad?"
"Put 'em on, and you'll see."
Jess set them down, shrugged out of her shirt, and carefully set each breast in place. Tess watched closely, "to make sure they lined up right." She even helped Jess give them a tug to make sure they were secure.
Don emerged, looking slightly flushed. "Is it safe now?"
Jess squealed, "I'm naked!" and dashed for her room.
Tess glared at her boyfriend, then moved to Jess' door. She could hear cursing from inside. "Are you OK, Jess?"
Jess grumbled, "You were right about them. I'd forgotten how much running can hurt."
Tess gathered up the new bras and the top she'd bought, and put them back in their bags. She tapped on Jess' door. "Here sweetie, these might help."
The door opened just far enough to admit the bags, and closed again. It didn't re-open until dinner was ready. Jess emerged, blushing, in the new red top with a hint of a purple bra peeking out from underneath.
Don was the first to notice. "Whoa, momma! I won't complain about you hanging around if you wear that all the time."
Tess gave Don a shove. "Ignore him. You look great, sweetie. Come out."
Jess came back out of her room, and perched at the dining table like a nervous bird that would flee at a moment's notice. Don leered at her, but only when Tess wasn't watching or glaring at him. Which didn't give him too many chances.
After dinner, Tess plied Jess with drink, and Don had his fair share too. "You know you need this, Jess, or you'll never get your self-image back to rights."
"I know," slurred Jess. "Jus' let me lock my door tonight."
"OK. No locking it on Friday, though."
"'Kay," giggled Jess.
"What's Friday?" asked Don.
"Ribbon night!" the two girls replied, slightly out of synch.
"Crap."
"I'll start paying rent," Jess offered.
Don looked from Tess to Jess and back. "I'm gonna get outvoted."
"Maybe," teased Tess. "But maybe Jess will let me borrow her breasts once in a while, too."
"Sure!"
"Really?" Don perked right up. "It's a deal. I'll crash at the frat on Fridays, and Tess gets boobs on the weekend."
"One day a month," countered Jess.
"Twice," said Don.
"Once."
"Fine, but Tess has to stop kicking me whenever I look at 'em the rest of the time."
Tess sighed. "Fine. But we're still playing with the ribbon every Friday."
"Bah. Fine. Just let me get out before you get freaky."
Tess grinned wickedly. "No promises."
"Keep it outta sight, then."
Tess shared a conspiratory glance with Jess. "Challenge accepted."
"I need another drink."
Both girls giggled.
"A big one."
