Want - Part 1
----
Lana had a lovely time over the Christmas break.  With her boyfriend turned into a dildo, she no longer felt obliged to go to his parents' place for Christmas, so it was nice and quiet.  She slept late every day, and spent much of her time watching mindless TV with her boyfriend tucked between her breasts.  The rest of the time he was stuck somewhere else.

At first Lana had worried that it would be too lonely without Terry around.  She soon came to realize that always getting her choice of TV channels and never having to pick up after him was pretty nice.  And it wasn't like she was without an attentive lover - all she had to do was tuck Toy (her new pet name for her transformed boyfriend) into her panties, and he'd do the rest.  He had become expert at wriggling his way up inside her, and finding all the very best spots.  It was like having a smart, G-spot seeking vibrator.  It also left both hands free to play with her breasts - something Terry was never very good at, he'd just paw at them instead of teasing them just so...

By the end of a week, Lana was feeling only the vaguest sense of something being missing from her life.  By then, of course, it was time to go back to classes.

Monday morning, Lana got up much earlier than she had during the break, grumbling at her alarm clock.  She rushed through her morning routine.  Just before she was about to go out the door, she pulled her dildo out from between her breasts, and apologized to it.  "I'm sorry, Toy, but you can't come to class with me.  What would people think?"

A minute later she dashed back inside, and slammed the door.  "I forgot!  Toy, er Terry, don't you have classes too?"  The dildo woke from where it was drowsing in a pile of her panties, then slowly nodded.

Lana muttered "I can't believe I'm saying this," before loudly claiming, "I don't need a dildo any more, I need my boyfriend back."

With a whoosh and a thud, Terry appeared on the floor, draped in a few of Lana's panties.  He seemed rather put out by this, but Lana didn't stick around to find out why - she was already late for class.  "Love you bye!" and she was out the door.

When Lana got home, Terry wasn't there.  Now the apartment really did seem a bit lonely.  She poked around to make sure that Terry's meager possessions were still there, so he should be back at some point.  She shrugged, and started making dinner for herself.  She had to get creative later to stretch it to two servings.

Once they'd finished dinner, Terry finally spoke to her.  "Why'd you change me back?"  The resentment in his voice was clear.

Lana stared at him for a minute before answering.  "But you'd have missed all your classes."

Terry slumped back in his chair.  "Bah. I don't even want to take these stupid courses, but my parents insisted.  I don't want to be a lawyer."

"So what do you want to be?"

"Human dildo was looking pretty good last week."

Lana giggled.  "It was a lot of fun.  But there has to be something better you can do with your life.  Right?"

"Maybe.  I guess."  Terry sighed, and let the topic drop.

The week proceeded slowly - both were feeling rather put-upon by the early rising their class schedules demanded.  (Except Wednesday, where Lana could laze about until all of 10am.)  Terry moped about the apartment every night, and it started to get on Lana's nerves.  He wouldn't even assert himself enough to argue over which TV show to watch.  Lana turned on fashion shows that she knew he hated, and all he did was slouch off to the bedroom to 'study'.

By Friday night, Lana had had enough.  "Are you still upset you're human?  Is that it?"

"Yes!  You promised you'd keep me."

"Wait, you wanted to stay as a dildo...  Uh, for how long?"

Terry just shrugged.

"But what about your classes, your life?"

Terry slumped deeper into the couch beside Lana.  "I hate my classes.  I'm only taking this crap because my parents insist.  Classes I hate, leading to a degree I don't want, to do a job I won't like.  If I can even get a job in this market.  Then I get to spend the rest of my life paying the debt.  Fun times.  Frankly, spending the rest of my life as Toy sounds better."

"Well, that's pretty selfish."

"Huh?  How do you figure?"

"What about the woman you might eventually marry, your kids..."

"Are you talking about yourself?"  Terry asked, a bit worriedly.

Lana chuckled wryly.  "We're good fuck-buddies, but are we going to be more than that?  Hell if I know.  Let's get through university first, then see.  Still, that's a point.  What about me?  I like having someone to cuddle.  And you can reach the stuff on the top shelf.  And, um... you keep the bed nice and warm."

"Such praise.  You could replace me with a step-stool and a hot water bottle.  How does that weigh against the perfect dildo, hmm?  You know the sex was good."

"Good?  It was fantastic," Lana said with a dreamy smile on her face.

Terry held the button out to Lana.  "So you'll do it?"

Lana stared at the button longingly, and reached out toward it, then stopped with effort.  "No.  It's not right to turn a person into just a ... thing."

Terry waggled the 'Need' button enticingly.  "You know you want to press the button.  The beautiful shiny button."

"No I don't."

"The jolly, candy-like button."

"Stop it!"

"Will she hold out?  Can she hold out?"

Lana just growled at Terry, then turned her back on him.

Terry stared at the button, then took a deep breath.  "I need to be the Toy my girlfriend wants me to be, even if she won't admit it."  And he pressed the button.

Lana spun back to face him just in time to see the button glow brightly, then vanish.  For a time, Terry seemed to have the same green glow about him, but it faded.  "What did you do?"

Terry looked down at himself.  "It didn't work.  You said it was selfish... it should have worked."

"That was my button - where did it go?"

"I don't know.  I should call the store, this is weird."

"No, it's too late.  Let's just call it a night and go to bed."

Terry followed Lana to bed, but couldn't stop turning it over in his head.  He kept muttering theories as to why the button might have disappeared, and kept trying to 'need' himself into a toy.

Lana sighed.  "Just knock it off and get some sleep.  We can sort it out in the morning."

"I just want Toy-sex one more time..."

"I want you to just stop and let me fuck you," Lana said as she rolled on top of her distracted boyfriend.  She felt him get good and hard under her, and grinned.  "Well, at least something worked tonight."

After a wild and sweaty ride, Lana looked down at her still-erect boyfriend... and realized with a start that he had at some point become a rubber doll.  A very lifelike one, but the way he was staring up at her, unblinking, started to unnerve her.

"Huh.  I guess you figured it out after all."  Lana shoved the doll over to Terry's side of the bed, curled up next to it, and fell asleep.

In the morning's light, the doll's vacant stare was even more unnerving.  Lana prodded it several times, but it didn't react at all.  "Come on, Terry.  I know you're in there.  I just want a hug, I want your arms around me again."

Lana squeaked when the doll started moving, and wrapped her up in a clammy rubber embrace.  She tried to relax into it, but it felt all kinds of wrong.  And worse, the arms wouldn't budge an inch when she tried to free herself.  Lana started to panic.

"Lemme go lemme go lemme go!  Fuck!"  She panted and struggled some more.  Eventually she wore herself out in her frenzy, and started trying to think again.  "OK.  It started with me wanting a hug...  I want you to let me go."

The doll's arms moved back to its sides, and Lana tumbled to the floor with a curse.  For the next ten minutes or so, Lana tried every variation she could think of to want or need Terry back to being a real person, but nothing she tried worked.  He remained stubbornly a doll.

"Bah, what am I going to do with you?  I'd hate someone to come in and see... this.  I don't want a doll, I just want the dildo you were before... Yeep!"  The doll had vanished as she was speaking.  Lying on the covers instead was a familiar pink object.

"Ah?  Well then... this has promise.  I want a... purple dildo."  And it was.  Lana picked it up, and examined it closely.  "Pretty.  How about...  I want one of those tiny vibrating eggs..."  Again, the object in her hands changed, quivering madly.  "Oooooh. I think this'll be fun, Toy."

It was.

The next morning Lana gave the vibrating egg another workout.  Then she tried changing Toy into other things.  "I want a dress.  Bah.  How about... I want a necklace.  An earring?  A pretty vase?  Fooey and double fooey.  I guess it just turns into sex toys.  Oh well."  She put the egg in a drawer, and hopped into the shower.

Over the next week, Lana turned Toy into pretty much every kind of sex-toy she could think of, which wasn't all that many.  Vibrators vibrated as specified, but otherwise Toy no longer was self-propelled.  It was a terrible disappointment to her, and something she never figured out.

Lana tried to research new sex toys to transform Toy into, but her first online search turned up some pretty scary websites... one of which filled her computer with viruses.  By the time that crisis had been dealt with, and the lost assignments caught up on, Lana had pretty much accepted that Toy was her magic shapeshifting vibrator for good.

Eventually Terry's money ran out and Lana needed another source for half the rent of the apartment.  One thing led to another, and Jim moved into her bedroom, rather than the second bedroom...

One night when Jim was studying late for finals, Lana got frustrated and dug out her old dildo.  "I want the perfect dildo," she said... and recognized the form.  This was the very first toy she'd turned... um, what was his name into.  "Toy, are you still in there?  You did this to yourself, but...  Look, I'm sorry.  I've found someone new, and... well, I can't be your girlfriend anymore."

A very confused and quite naked man appeared in her bed.

Much complaining, arguing, and pitching out of the apartment later, Terry was sitting by the side of the street with a suitcase, very little cash, and no idea where to go.  His family was too far away to bus it, and the explanations of where he'd been for the last few months if not at university... ugh.

After a brief session of entirely reasonable panic and despair, Terry took control of himself and his emotions, and tried to figure out what to do next.  His stomach growled.  It had, after all, been quite some time since he'd last eaten.

Terry considered his options.  Ruby's was open this late, and only a short walk away - which was why it had become his favourite hangout when he'd been a student.  Was he still a student?  Something to look into in the morning, perhaps.

The familiar jingle of the door-chime made Terry smile.

Ruby looked up from cleaning the countertop, and waved to him.  "Hey Terry, I'd wondered where you'd vanished off to."

Terry laughed mirthlessly.  "I doubt you'd believe me if I told you."

Ruby grinned.  "Try me.  It's pretty dead this late, I could use a story to pass the time."  She waved an arm to indicate the otherwise empty cafe.

Terry hopped up on a stool.  "Can you get me a slice of pie and a soda?  I haven't eaten in... uh..."  He frowned.  Just how long *had* it been?   "What month is it, anyway?"

Ruby slid a plate and a glass across the counter.  "It's April."

"Four months?  Well, no point in worrying about it now."  Terry sighed, and dug a fork into the pie.  "Oh, this is wonderful."

"After four months without food?  I'm surprised you're still alive."

Terry swallowed, then laughed.  "I'm just glad to be.  Alive, that is."

Ruby propped her head up in her hands.  "OK, now I *have* to hear this.  Spill."

Terry swallowed another mouthful, then shrugged.  "OK.  Do you believe in magic?"

"A year ago, I'd have said no.  But I've been hearing a lot of odd stories of late that make it pretty clear someone's been doing something strange."

"Ah.  I guess that'd make sense.  See, I kind of bought a magic button as a gift for my girlfriend.  Make that ex-girlfriend.  Hence the suitcase."

As Terry related the tale of how he'd not only been turned into a dildo, but volunteered to stay one, Ruby's eyes widened.

"What a fool," Ruby commented, after Terry's tale had wound its way to her door.

"Sorry?"  Terry looked up from his now-empty plate in confusion.

"On several grounds.  You're a sweetie, and she doesn't deserve someone like you."

Terry blushed.  "Thanks.  To be honest, I'm kinda glad to be out of there."

"Got tired of being a toy?"

Terry blushed a bit more.  "Actually... I'd do that again, given a chance.  But I'd want it to be with someone nicer, and maybe more creative."

Ruby walked over to the door, locked it, and flipped the sign to 'Closed'.  "Come on upstairs.  You need a place to crash tonight, it's too late to sort anything else out.  And... I want to try something."

Terry raised his eyebrows, then grinned.  "Thanks.  I really appreciate this."  He picked up his suitcase and followed Ruby to the apartment above the cafe.  He wondered just what she had in mind, and also wondered about that glint in her eye.  She wasn't *that* much older than him - she'd started the cafe after graduating from the local University a few years ago.  Walking up the stairs behind her gave him a chance to admire her well-toned legs.  And other parts.

Ruby peeked behind her a few times as they ascended, grinning as she caught Terry's glances.  She made a bit of a production of dropping her keys at her apartment door, and as she bent over to pick them up called him out on it.  "Caught you looking," she claimed with a grin.

Terry laughed.  "So you did.  You've got a cute backside, what can I say?"

Ruby opened the door, and let Terry follow her inside. "Say 'I want you to be my girlfriend'."

Terry dropped his suitcase, and just stared at her for a moment.  "Seriously?"  Then his eyes widened.  "You don't think that will reactivate it... do you?"

Ruby nodded.  "Yes, seriously.  And it might.  Might not.  Never can tell with magic.  Do you want it to?"

Terry looked away from Ruby for a minute, not really seeing the one-room apartment with its tiny kitchen and folded-out bed.  Ruby waited, watched.

"Yes.  I want you to be my girlfriend."  Terry glowed briefly.  "I think it worked."

Ruby hugged him tight.  "Cool.  Want to test?"

"Kiss me first.  Then I'll be any toy you like for as long as you like, happily."

Ruby kissed him enthusiastically, and he quickly returned the fervor.

She pulled back a bit, still hugging him.  "Ready?"

"I...  yes."   Terry stiffened a bit in her arms.

"Aww, you're trembling.  Trust me."

"I do.   Just don't stuff me in a drawer for months."

Ruby laughed a tinkling bell-like laugh.  "No fear of that.  I have much better plans."

Terry relaxed a bit.  "Do tell."

"I want... sh, none of that."   Ruby rubbed her hands up and down Terry's back until he relaxed again.

"Sorry."

"No apologies either.  I want a silicone sex-doll that's warm to the touch, and that can move and talk."

Terry gasped softly as he felt his body change, then held his hand up to his face to examine it.  It didn't really seem changed, even.  He could *feel* that he was different, but to anyone else...  "Wow.  Wait, I can talk?"

Ruby grinned.  "Told you she was stupid."

"I can't believe I'm an object, but I can talk..."

"Now... I want you to shut up and kiss me."

And boy, did he!
